Bad customer service they had me wait for 20 minutes and no one came to help me after I told them twice

I've ordered from this store before. Once I ordered tool boxes with signature required. They were dropped off without notification all smashed up and had to be returned. This time I ordered a large Christmas decoration and paid extra to require my signature. I've been home all day watching for the truck. I just got a call from the store saying it was undeliverable because no one was here. I call bull*#%t. I even went back and checked my cameras. No truck and no one at my porch. Not a phone message. I will Not Be ordering for delivery again. If I can't pick it up I don't want it. read more

We bought a refrigerator on November 22 to be delivered December 9th. I decided to call (1-877-946-9843) the day before since we didn't get a call that day as promised. I talked to an individual and was on hold for almost an hour when I was disconnected. Next, I called the local Meridian store to explain the situation and was promised I would be called back, this never happened. At that point I called the other number again where I was eventually transferred to another individual where I called (1-833-452-2893) which is Appliance Delivery, there I finally was told the fridge would be delivered December 15th, 6 days after the initial delivery date. The fridge was delivered, it looked good, no visible damage and everything seemed to work, (Water, Ice maker, lights etc) The next morning there was a very loud rattling noise which I eventually found to from under the fridge. While checking this out I discovered the front wheels that support the fridge where loose, not supporting it. Then I called Whirlpool where I was again told I need to talk to Home Depot delivery which I did only to find out I have to wait until January 13th to have someone come out to look at the problem. Researching this I've discovered the fridge should lean to the back slightly which is the opposite of what it does. Overall a VERY disappointing experience with the whole purchase, next time I will be looking elsewhere for any appliance we may need. read more

All the employees have been so helpful with the exception of one of the managers who I've gotten a nasty vibe from on a couple occasions. I normally have terrible experience at Home Depot as I am new to the area. This was the most delightful Home Depot experience I've ever had. We originally went for dog kennels. However, we stumbled upon a beautiful light and a gentleman named Doug who worked there was pleasant enough and kind enough to give us a quick lesson on how to install this light he was very knowledgeable. He was kind .funny and relatable. Please give Doug an amazing raise!!!!He really does deserve it not only that but every single employee was super kind and knowledgeable. read more

The store where customer service is bad and getting worse all the time. If you actually find someone that knows anything about the specific item you need you're doing well, but then they they act like you are putting them out because they actually have to work. Pitiful!!! To add insult to injury... I actually saw and heard employees arguing amongst themselves about who's turn it was to bring carts in from the parking lot. I was reading another review about having a refrigerator delivered. Home Depot online was excellent, being able to text and not wait on hold is a great service they provide. The delivery service they use is horrible, no communication, having to wait on hold and no one answering so I eventually just hung up. I had to get the delivery time through the website text. When the refrigerator was delivered, they couldn't install the water line. Through text, a service call was made to install, which the delivery service cancelled without informing me. I would buy from Home Depot again but not their delivery service. read more

This is in regards to an attempt to purchase blinds. I must say that this ranks as one of the worst experiences I have ever had. None of the three associates we worked with seemed to have any clue what they were doing. Two of them appeared to be less than thrilled to have to assist us at all. They could not answer the most basic of questions. We sat for a long period of time while one employee painfully (face contorting) attempted to put together a quote. There were long periods of silence with the occasional "I have no idea what I am doing" noise emanating out of her. In the end we ended up with a quote that seems to be overpriced and incorrect. I attempted to call today. I asked specifically for someone who was very familiar with the blind department. Once again she could not answer questions and 10 minutes into the call I was hung up on. She did not want to take the time to help me work out whether we had the right pricing. Never again! read more

Like many places I have to rate it for the goals the establishment is trying to achieve rather than what I would prefer. It would be like going to a greasy spoon and expecting it to be a five star restaurant; it's just not going to happen. What Home Depot attempts to accomplish is to provide home appliances, tools, and materials at low prices. It accomplishes this goal quite well. Is the service great? That depends. Do they help you find items in the store? Yes. Are they courteous? Fairly. Do they ask you if you need help every time you see them? Yes (which is good and bad). Will they provide expert opinions about what works for your project? Not really. If you need that help you should probably go to a local store. The store itself is well maintained. They have an app that lets you quickly find what you are looking for and locate it in the store. It gives the aisle and bay number, so it's very quick. And it avoids the need for human interaction which I prefer at these stores. One weak point is they don't have as nice of a selection of home decor items, such as lights, etc. Lowe's is a better option for those items. read more

I went into this store to ask about BEHR Elastomeric Masonry Stucco paint the was totally turned off by the sales guy there at this location. I had a simple question wanting to know if they could match a paint color I currently have on my Stucco home and all I heard was we don't have stucco homes in ID its a CA, NM and NV type of home, total clown. He went right into trying to selling me another type and brand so obviously wasn't catching my drift or intent to purchase. He did manage to go into how he was a paint guy manager for over 24 years and knows his paint and products, guess what HD you lost out on us spending $129.00 for 5 gallons of paint. To the paint sales guy, do some grooming and get off your high horse an listen to people and what we're asking. Wow, I'll be trying a different HD today to see IF we have a trend here.. read more

This Home Depot location is really awesome. Their customer service is always on point and they go the extra mile. For example, this past week we have had temps over 100 here in Meridian. It's been miserable. When my husband mentioned that we needed to stop by Home Depot to get some blackout blinds I was less than enthusiastic. But his promise of dinner out was just enough persuasion to get me into the car! As we walked into Home Depot we were greeted by an employee standing next to a large chest freezer offering free cold bottles of water. Over the years, Home Depot has really declined from the days you could get help from real craftsmen. However, I'm working on a large project and the millworks guy helping me informed me (after I asked him) that if we took the order to the bid desk, we'd get a 12% ~ 15% discount since Home Depot would "bid it out." That process took several days & I went down to meet with the bid desk people. They offered something more akin to 6%. I expressed my concern & the bid desk person asked if I'd had anyone else bid it. I said "no," and told her that if the discount I was told about came through, I didn't feel the need to bid it out. I took the bid to Lowes and they came up with a 25% discount from Home Depot's offer. I'm going to Lowes, of course. I feel loyal to Home Depot, but I'm done with them, I think. My loyalty lasted way too long anyway. read more

I rented a sod cutter from this Home Depot location yesterday. The rental office closes at 6 so I had to rent the machine earlier in the day and complete the job after work. The machine didn't work so I had to call some friends to help me rip up the sod by hand. It took us 5 hours. When I went to return the machine I explained it didn't work. The employee didn't believe me. He basically insinuated that I used the machine and just didn't want to pay. I even showed him how the blade wouldn't stay in the down position. I did end up getting a full refund but his attitude was ridiculous. I will never rent a tool from Home Depot again. Completely unprofessional. read more

I will never be a customer of Home Depot again, Lows only from now on. I had a return and did not have the receipt. Without notice Home Depot changed its return policy on Feb 7th not allowing returns with out a receipt for store credit. I asked the manager if an exception could be made as i was not aware, did not receive an email notifying me of this policy change, and the item was purchased before the policy was in place. Further it is Feb 13, 6 days after the policy changed. He said no exception would be made and further went on to tell me the Veteran discount program was also massively cut (something like %10 on up to $400 per year), the manager was rolling his eyes when telling me this new veteran discount reduction as he know it was pathetic. Due to both of these factors and the difficulty it was I will now be giving Lows %100 of my business. On average I used to spend around $5,000 per year at Home Depot on house improvement projects, tools, and other items. They just lost a lot of business and the manager didn't seem to care. read more

I am highly frustrated. We recently purchased a washer and dryer brand new from The Home Depot on 06/06/2020. It was delivered, calibrated, and set up by Home Depot. We did not have the opportunity to try out the appliances for defects until the following Friday (6 days). Upon use the washer spun so violently during the spin cycle we only just saved it from going through the wall. It shook the whole upstairs. We stopped the cycle and dried what we had "washed." Everything that came out of the dryer smelled like garbage. Friday I called and spent a few hours on the phone talking to various customer service associates. My laundry room completely flooded with dirty water, we ruined expensive towels to clean up the mess, our laundry is stuck in the washer which is locked closed. I was told we could make an exchange by a representative at Samsung, who according to Home Depot, never noted the account. However after spending another hour and some odd minutes on the phone I learned we are not able to make an exchange due to the following return policy which was not verbally explained to us. We should have read the fine print on the receipts since this was not explained in an upfront and clear manner, or at all other than fine print. I should also note that it was suggested I contact the store manager who allegedly has the authority to override this unfair return policy. This associate was not helpful at all whatsoever and told me it was an online purchase and she could do nothing. My advice to you is to not conduct business with the Home Depot for major purchases. Or any purchase that you would hope to be able to have the company stand behind the products they are selling. I am not just out the 1000+ something for the dryer, also the $$$ for towels and ruined clothing. Return Policy on Major Appliances Defective or damaged Major Appliances: Before a customer either accepts delivery or takes an order home from the store, major appliance products (including refrigeration appliances, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers and some microwaves) should be inspected for defects or damage. If any exist, the customer should refuse to take the product(s) into their possession. Once delivery is accepted or a product is removed from the store by a customer, the product may be returned if the defects and/or damage are identified and reported to The Home Depot by calling (800) 455-3869 within 48 hours of delivery/the time of pick-up at the Service Desk. read more

BEWARE.....DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM HOME DEPOT (ESPECIALLY SAMSUNG). Make sure to read the small print in their return policy for appliances! Basically, you are stuck with it unless you report ONLY a damaged or defective item within 48 hours. Make sure to wash and dry everything you have from very small to very large within the first 48 hours to make sure that everything works. Now, if you are just unsatisfied with it you are completely out of luck. Home Depot will not exchange or refund it period! We bought this washer and matching dryer a few weeks ago. We had high hopes for it but were quickly very unsatisfied with it. The washer does not wash at all. My wife quickly noticed this, so she experimented with it. She put 3 layers of clothes that were different colors in the washer. She then ran a complete cycle and when it was done the clothes were still in the same order. They never moved! She then washed a full/queen comforter (it's not real big) and once the washer was done the comforter was puffed up in the washer and at least 50% of the comforter was still dry (see picture)! She then called Home Depot and asked if she could get an exchange or refund since it had only been 3 weeks. They refused to help out in any way. She then worked her way up with a variety of Home Depot Managers and they all told her the same thing that she is out of luck. One Home Depot Manager told her basically to stop calling and she is stuck with the washer and dryer! Spectacular customer service HD! The only thing that the Home Depot Managers could provide was a phone number to call Samsung direct. She then called Samsung and talked to a couple of techs. They did some sort of facetime with her to see if our washer is defective and after 30-40 minutes they determined that it is not defective. They told her that when she washes comforters that she will have to take them out and wash them a second time. This is supposed to be an energy efficient washer....how is that efficient to have to wash it twice each time. The Samsung techs told her, "that is just how it washes." My wife then called Home Depot back again and explained to them that this washer does not work like described on their website and she was once again told that she is out of luck! Do yourself a favor and don't settle for, "that is just how it washes!" And stay away from Home Depot....we sure are! read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! My husband is a floor installer and uses this store daily. We went in for the black Friday four pack appliances. It took 22 minutes to get someone to help us. When a manager asked an associate to help us she rolled her eyes and acted completely irritated to help us. We showed her the add and she tried to talk us out of the style because it scratches . She then got irritated with me for not knowing the measurement of my current refrigerator. I had to go find my husband to please her. She then quit helping me to go help another customer while she was in the middle of typing my orders in the computer. When she decided to finish my order she went over how I need to check each and every appliances before I signed for it. She then asked if I need to have all the old appliances removed. Now today after waiting almost a week for my appliances they tell me I only ordered a refrigerator. To get the black Friday deal I have to refuse the refrigerator cancel the order go in and make the order again then wait for the delivery up to a week. My kitchen has been completely emptied and waiting for my new appliances. I babysit out of my home and have a household of seven in addition. To have to go without a stove and refrigerator is extremely hard. My husband and I have both tried to figure something out with Home Depot. They refuse to try and help remedy the problem this week. They only offer a refund and order again they will come sometime next week. No discount, no tomorrow delivery, no take the fridge now and well get you the rest tomorrow. Nothing. This review is for their installation service. The in-store help was amazing. The trick is--they are super helpful to get you to purchase items, but then awful at following up to ensure the items are delivered and installed properly. It was a very frustrating experience trying to communicate with the store about the installation workers never showing up, and then they tried to give us the run-around when we said we would just like to return the item. I have been going to this Home Depot for years and it's customer service has slowly declined to an all time low. Today we went to go purchase a screen door or storm door, however, we were not sure which type to purchase. Made our way to the door customer service area where 2 older and heavy set men were sitting alone. I asked for some help explaining I dont know which one to purchase. The employee said, "Those doors are down and to the right." They had no intention of helping us. We were so took back by the laziness we left and went 1 mile to Lowe's and got great service. read more

I can recommend this store, but I did have a somewhat unsatisfactory experience, which led to a lesson learned for next time. So, if you take into account the lesson learned, this store will likely be a good resource for anyone in the community. Here's the lesson: Do your own research before renting a paint sprayer. With no previous experience with a paint sprayer, I rented a cordless sprayer to paint the walls and ceiling of a 15x20 room. The sprayer came with a charger and two batteries. I was able to paint only three of the walls before the first battery was depleted. With the second battery I was only able to paint the remaining wall and half the ceiling. With both batteries depleted I was unable to clean the sprayer. I removed the tip and tossed it into a bucket of water, put one battery in the charger, and went to eat lunch, hoping for the best. After lunch (about an hour) I found the battery indicator showing fully charged. I put the second battery in the charger and resumed painting. I finished the ceiling and put a second coat on the walls, and the sprayer stopped with a depleted battery. I had to stop at that point and clean the system with the second, partially-charged battery. In addition to the inadequate battery power, I had to contend with refilling the small paint cup every five minutes! I should have researched the performance of cordless sprayers. The store associate should have asked about my experience, the project, and recommended the 110 -volt sprayer. Lesson learned. read more

So, I went to pick up a cargo van the other day, you know, the one they advertise as "$19 for 75 minutes"? Well, good luck staying under the 75 minutes as your time starts when you're still in the building, prior to walking to the back of the parking lot, having the attendant start the car, check the gas level, show you where to fill it up with gas, etc. So, after wasting my first 10 minutes with all of that, I get back to Home Depot with 10 minutes to spare. Awesome! Until I got back into the rental drop off area and there was a line. I politely told the worker that I wanted to make sure my time didn't go over since the vehicle was parked, not being used, etc. His response? "Your time ends when I check you back in". What a sweetheart! The van did end up getting the job done, just factor in 20-30 extra minutes of messing with the Home Depot associates into the 75. Parker (assistant Manager) is a top notch employee at this Home Depot. We ordered an artificial Christmas tree online for pick up in store. It was literally the only tree we could agree on, so fast forward to showing up at the store...........and you guessed it, no one can find our tree/order. After 2 employees try to find it, in comes Parker (the peace keeper). Parker was set on finding our tree for us, as his search went on and the potential of finding our tree started to diminish, it was obvious how bad he felt. When there were no other local stores carrying the tree and no shipping options available, it started to look dire. But Parker made one last attempt to find our tree and a miracle occurred- he found it! Probably in some dark and dingy room, way far in the back. But none the less, he found it. Even at 8pm on a Wednesday, Parker never lost sight of providing amazing customer service and I have no doubt that even if he wasn't able to find it, he would have done everything he could to make it right. It's nice to come across a gem of an employee like Parker who understands and appreciates good customer service. Parker saved our Christmas! read more

Love the store and the employees. They're great; but I'll never have another Home Depot contractor work for me again. I expect upfront costs, so I know my budget, and their counter people (Precision Counters) did a poor estimate job and came back with several hundred more in hidden costs related to their mistakes. They basically held our deposit over our heads. I wanted to give the business to their competitor, but they had our money and Home Depot wouldn't back us up. Their installers were great, but the counters marginal quality. By going through Home Depot, it feel like we lost all ability to ensure we were treated fairly. read more

They need a no star category! This was probably the most unfriendly experience at a home depot, I have ever experienced. I went to the tool rental and found the person indifferent to my needs, did not explain the process for renting equipment, did not explain the operation of the equipment rented, I had to ask. I was chastised for my parking location, when I responded and said you had not explained any part of the process muchless the loading process, how would one know. Thankfully, I made it work. DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT TO RE-CARPET YOUR HOME!!!!This process has caused me to miss 4 days of work, not only have I paid for my carpet, but I have used my vacation time at work to stay home to get my carpet fixed. We were planning to re-carpet the rest of our home depending on how this process went. We will NOT be using the Home Depot for this. It is an absolute shame that we could not get anyone to assist us during the issues and have it taken care of in a timely manner. When expressing the dissatisfaction to the manager and to the other employees everyone passed it off as the installation companies problem, there was no responsibility in the manner. How well a company deals with problems should be your deciding factor when making purchases. Their associates are rude and act like it is an inconvenience to be helpful. When making large purchases you want to feel good that you are going to get good service when something is defective. We love going on secret squirrel missions and in this case we have crazy dreams about replacing the carpet upstairs with hardwood floors and totally redoing the bathroom. We scope out two Lowes locations earlier in the week and were expecting the same hide and seek routine from the employees. That was not the case with THD. We were greeted by at least five different employees and when the sixth found us we were enchanted with his knowledge of Pergo, Porcelain tiles and everything in between. His name for your reference is Seth. Go find him as he is the Indiana Jones to your remodel crusade. Seriously, Seth should have his own DIY home show on HGTV. Ok you get the service. The products and offerings are equal to the other guys and if you are looking to do any sort of home remodel make sure you scope out all the pricing. THD and Lowes do offer specials but make sure you read the signs for the exclusions so that you don't get hit with a surprise. Case in point. If you want THD to do the install of the hardwood floor, it's on special right now of .89 cents a sq. ft but the hardwood needs to be priced more than 1.99 a sq ft. Don't ever open a Home Depot credit card. They will lie to you about promotions and say anything to get you to open the card. Then when you are charged fees that you were promised you wouldn't be charged, they won't fix it. They'll just apologize and say "There's nothing we can do about it."
