This isn't my usual Home Depot location, but we were out and about running other errands and this location was the most convenient. My son needed to purchase supplies for a marble run project. Home Depot to the rescue! We were able to find all of the supplies he needed (after wandering around a bit). Their stock is plentiful and well organized. We didn't receive any help while we were there (except at checkout, of course) and weren't offered any, but no biggie as we got it all figured out without help. One nice thing was that back by their saws, they have scrap lumber you can take for free. I didn't realize (I thought there would at least be a nominal fee) but at checkout, she said--no charge! Trust me I have NEVER gushed about a big box home improvement place until now. I think there might be a new manager because I heard this woman making sure that all of the associates were greeting all of the guests. Fantastic! They are well staffed and if you ask where to find something you get an immediate response and sometimes they will take you to the aisle to find the product. Years ago this location was a ghost town and you had to hunt down people - now they are available in almost every location. They had an awesome sale on mulch so I needed 50 bags purchased over two trips. Each time a nice kid would help me load the truck because it is back breaking to lift those bags. Today I drove my heavy cart down the wrong aisle and had to load my car from the cart that was hanging in the other row. An associate saw me struggling, pulled my cart over the curb and again helped me load my car! Kudos to HD for a great improvement experience. Also next time you are there notice that each area of the store has a different vibe. People doing home improvements aren't as happy as the people shopping the garden aisle! read more

Ordered a chair in OCTOBER 2023 gave me the wrong chair, employee insisted that it was the right chair I should take it anyway (gaslighting) 2. no customer service when I called over 6 times to check on status of reorder 3. NOVEMBER reordered chair came in broken, I requested refund, was told I could not get a refund 4. Called several times -No one could find my order - so, went to the store employee told me they already refunded me (gaslighting again) 5. JANUARY 2024 had to go to bank to get a statement to prove I did not receive refund (I should not have to provide bank statements) 6. returned to store JAN 30th --- gift card had been in the back office since DEC 13th 2023, but no one ever communicated with me; I just happened to go to the store because I wanted my money back. This Home Depot location is a-okay. The customer service is hit or miss, but my main complaint would be the lack of variety of products. This is the closest Home Depot to us so we go here often, but that is the only reason I would choose this location over others. The garden selection is okay, but the variety of plants is pretty depressing, especially vegetables. We've had a few struggles customer service-wise, such as having a hard time flagging down help, and having some boards cut that were not completely accurate measurement-wise. The customer service is inconsistent, which is a shame, because there are some times we've gone in an individual has been very helpful. All that being said, this Home Depot will do for a nearby home store for a quick visit. Heavy Hauler I love traveling and trying out new vehicles. I had to pickup some drywall and lumber and my car wasn't going to do for the heavy load. This location, like all others, has trucks available for $20 for 75 minutes to assist with your move. The Ford F350 is one bad-ass truck! If I wasn't in a hurry I'd have taken it to an empty lot and smoked up the tires. I totally get lost walking around this place. Lawn & Garden, tools, paint, wood, hardware, whatever you need, they have it here. Staff is super friendly and if you buy the wrong thing (always) and need to bring it back they don't give you a hard time. read more

There is always a smiling face greeting you at the entrance and others in their departments happy to help a customer find what they are looking for and making sure it is the right product for them. My boyfriend and I did not think we were going to buy much during one visit and ended up having our hands full; an employee recognized this and a couple moments later was walking over with a cart for us. Do not offer a product you cannot provide. Waited forever on curbside pickup and I was the only car there. Called the number, no response after multiple calls and waiting on hold/ringing for 10 min. I finally had to go in, which I didn't want to do because of the current situation(covid)... that's why I used curbside pickup in the first place. Then after getting back out to car I still waited forever to get my things. The problem is your lack of communicating with the costumer what to do and not responding to us. Meh. It's fine. I mean there's not much competition to choose from in this area when you're a home owner, so unless you have a truck, you're not going to wanna make a long hike to a Menards. It has had pretty much everything we've needed. The selection of flowers is really hit or miss. They usually are having pretty good deals come spring. One thing I hadn't noticed until recently is that they rent out trucks. It's a first come first serve basis. But they charge 19.00 per 75 minutes. Not a bad deal! There's a $50 refundable deposit and the gas has to be filled where you picked it up as. The most annoying part of the process? The four people behind the counter were in no rush to help us. We stood in line for at least 10-15 minutes before we were even helped! Then another 5 to actually do the whole paperwork process. It was rather irritating. It was nice to not have to go through the process of getting a uhaul, however still annoying because I felt like one of the MANY people that were working could have helped us. Large selection of anything you could imagine that you need or want for home improvement. I've been to several Home Depot locations and they tend to keep the say layout yet this one is a little different that makes it easier, for me to navigate. This location features more than enough parking in the well-lit parking lot that they somewhat share with Pick 'n Save next door. They also have a Pro contractor parking up front by the exit. Returns are super easy with HD just needing your card that you used to purchase on - the package could even be open and not have the receipt and they will take it back. The staff here is extremely helpful - this is the only big box home improvement location that I can say that. There are a few guys that are my go-to for questions and suggestions. Most of the time you have someone that tells you what aisle yet these employees go above and beyond the call of duty to help assist you making sure they get you the right items. After being in there a handful of times, they know what I'm working on and always ask on how things are coming along. Great people at this location, good prices, and helpful. read more

I purchased blind measurement installation on 10/23/2020. On 1/14/2021 I paid $2,132.37 for vertical blinds and horizontal blinds. The policy is to install all the blinds at one time, after they all arrive. After two deliveries of damaged blinds the store was helpful and had them delivered to them. However, the bathroom blinds were delivered four times while others didn't come or still came damaged to the store. Installers came to my house over 15 times and the blinds are still not completed. I worked with over 3 (V****, V****, E***) managers. I contacted District Manager (A******). After me taking numerous vacation days off of work to have the blinds put up, accommodating their needs to keep coming to get measurements, more measurements, installations, more measurements to get the job completed; for the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas 2021 I still had black plastic bags over my livingroom, kitchen and 2 bedroom windows (almost a year with black plastic bags or no window treatments). In July of 22 and November of 22 (almost 2 years), this is still what I have! I asked for my money back for the blinds which are still not correct and the installation fee so I can have another company come to complete. I have a paper trail of 100 phone calls, dozens of trips to Home Depot because the manager of the project, C**** had a voicemail box that stated "Joyce" and was always full (which I reported to managers and district manager. One of the Two Crew members J*** was also aware of the inability to contact C****. I also met with three individuals repeatedly in the blind department as well as others numerous times (R**, M****, C****). I have the email records, phone call records, and photographs for inspection. I have a room full of "extra part", boxes of additional blinds that were given to me because they are custom and kept sending the same ones over and over again. The last time I went to Home Depot the employees laughed at me stating "Oh, the K******* house!" Home Depot was my favorite neighborhood store, I swore by it! Avoid this location at all costs!!! The employee Caldion should not have a position where he interacts with customers. We had an absolutely irate employee on our hands when trying to pick up an order, he was confused about what was on his screen and who's order was who's, even going as far as arguing with a fellow coworker until he finally realized he had made a mistake and turned over the item we had purchased. I like to handle the wood dowels. Stepping into this place is like stepping foot into a land where I have the ability and know-how to take on any home improvement project. Being male, I am forbidden to ever ask for assistance here, so I usually end up walking down all of the aisles until I think I find what I need. But that's okay! Each aisle holds something special, so it's not *really* a waste of time, in the grand scheme of things. I nod to myself, as I look at each object, thinking "oh yes, that would be exactly what I would need if I were re-planing all the doors in my house, but of course I would want to use the 3/8ths inch drill bit, not the 7/8ths haha could you image some idiot doing that haha what an idiot I'd hate to be that guy!" You must always use the self-checkout here. Otherwise, you run the risk of being asked "Did you find everything okay today?" Because they know. They see it in your eyes. You did not find the thing. While we've had some good experiences with employee service at this place, the latest experience begs for improvement. Our son-in-law went on Oct. 29 to Customer Service to pick up a shower and a door that we had placed on will-call under his name. An argument ensued between two employees as to whether there was one item or two on will call, and it took an hour to resolve the problem and have both items available for pickup. This is probably the best big box DIY home remodeling store on the South Side, and the only one that I know of east of 27th. It's not as bad as most Menards or Home Depots in terms of finding someone to help you, though I'm not saying that's easy. Scary looking armed guard chatting up the greeter on my way in, it was pretty clear I was interrupting them and I felt sorry I interfered with romance at work. I do wonder if I should wear body armor to shop here, I don't want to be collateral damage in a shootout while I'm still looking for the window insulation. But they may actually need the armed guards, as it's a bit challenging to get attention if you're not acting in a criminal manner and not very attractive. Still, the employees won't literally run from you like at the South Side Menards I was just in. This Home Depot is well-stocked if you know what you're looking for but still pretty baffling if you're a man raised by an Asian professor who didn't ever figure out what a screwdriver is used for. If I really thought about the friendly neighborhood Ace Hardware store I used to frequent last century, this place would get one star - the three stars reflects the reality of the corporate giant home repair stores of this century. Almost every time I've been here someone has been helpful. Only once did a few employees really not know what they were talking about, but I was lucky to run into a man there who knew what he was talking about (needed oil to keep my tools healthy, he suggested something more suited to the job). Mole problem, someone showed me the products and told me the pros/ cons of each (heck, I was there another day and he asked how it was working... he remembered me, I feel so special). Husband and I can't decide which color paint to buy, the person helped us figure it out and explained different things about paint. Wanted a new hose mount, someone else showed the pros/ cons of different types and knew the isle number for another part I would need. Usually friendly employees to talk to and can find my basic needs. They'll cut wood for you as well, which I really like (went to Menards ONCE and just wanted some wood cut in half... they're idiots and couldn't figure it out; didn't buy anything and went here instead... DONE with no hassle). While I've never needed anything brought to a car, they have a pick up area or they'll help you carry things to your vehicle. Cons: some things here are very pricy, such as carpet. Blinds can get expensive as well. Plant variety could be better. However, many of these things most people would go to specialty stores for, not Home Depot, so I don't hold this against them very much. read more

Came here on a hunch the other week because the Target that was a little north of this location was out of the camping propane canisters for portable grills, so my review will be somewhat limited in context. Location: 3.5 out of 5 From the 3rd Ward, this is the closest big box hardware store as I find that the National Ace Hardware can be hit or miss in terms of availability and customer service. Jumping on the highway makes it a quick'ish 5 minute drive or so. There is ample parking and the contiguous complex is shared by Pick n Save, Jimmy Johns, and a hair cut place. Starbucks and Applebees are in the same shopping complex as well in case you're in the mood for a coffee drink or um..."fine dining." Customer service: 5 out of 5 It was quite remarkable how consistent the customer service was going from point to point. Out of habit, I tend to park in the area by the plants/outdoor garden area because I enjoy walking through and looking at things (seeds, implements, potted plants, etc.) that I might like. From the moment I entered through the "side" gate, I was greeted with a smile followed by a "How are you doing today" and "Is there anything that I can help you find?" Being convinced I could find the propane canisters myself, I chose to walk around the stationary grill area for a little bit before being puzzled by the absence of the 1lb tanks. Finally, I approached to gentlemen, who directed me to Aisle 17 (may not be the right number, but they just knew off the top of their heads). After making the short trip down to said aisle, lo and behold, glorious glorious Benozmatic brand camping propane in the requisite mass needed! As I walked back to the checkout, one of the same guys said, "Hey, glad you found what you needed!", and two other store employees gave me the same, "Hi, glad you're here - did you find everything ok?" Honestly - the guys and gals working here made me feel like I was their #1 or only customer, even though for all intents and purposes, I was making a very small purchase. Cleanliness of store: 5 out of 5 One of the cleanest I've ever been too. No errant "stuff" just sitting around, the aisles were clean and free of any debris, and this location was very well-lit and organized. Prices: 4 out of 5 This is a somewhat biased metric, but as I was looking through the outdoor garden area, it seemed like the prices I saw were commensurate with other Home Depot (and competitor) establishments. For my particular needs, the Benzomatic brand propane tanks were 3.50 each compared to a about 2.65 each at Target for a national store brand (Coleman). However - given the fact that Benzo is a trusted name in multiple industries, I was more than fine paying the slight upcharge. And the gas burns super nice in my grill! Overall: 5 out of 5 I know I usually employ conventional rounding with my reviews, but the customer service I received here bumps the 4.375 stars to a 5 star review. I do wish that this store were just a teeny bit closer to where I live so I could go there more often just to kill time/check the scene, but I'm sure I'll be back regardless at some point. read more

The customer service I received today was the best ever. I'm redoing a room in our house and bought the draperies I wanted and went from there. Paint department helped me with the paint color for the walls and woodwork which would accent the color of the drapes. I brought in the old blinds and they helped me find new ones and cut them to fit. So happy everyone was so helpful. read more

I was to have a fridge delivered and twice HD canceled, 1) Snow storm 2) cold, after those events I received no call to reschedule. It took an hour to try and contact somebody and I just gave up. the people in every step of this purchase was dumb as a rock. I'd like to say that I love coming here, I usually have great costumer service! Today was like any other wondering day aimlessly in Home Depot, I had to asked several employees for help and they were so wonderful. I had several items in my cart and my final item was a 50# bag of quick cement(creating some weights for an upcoming art show). I decide i was ready to check out and ask the cashier if she could call someone to help me get the bag of cement in my car. I waited for a while then asked her, if I should be somewhere specific so they could see me. She replied no, with no additional information. I then see two male employees come through the door with a crane and a palette with cement bags on it oddly enough! I thought they were going to ask if I needed the help so i just starred at them (they were talking about work so I didn't interrupt) nope, they just walked away... so needless to say I was frustrated. I decided I would just do it myself (I workout a little, had actually just come from the gym. Thought no big deal...) well it was a big deal I ended up throwing out my lower back attempting to get it in my car. After catching my breath and painfully walking back to the store i had asked a young gentleman by the entrance to help... Now my productive day has become RICE instead. Just frustrating that there seemed like there was no awareness or urgency in the final steps of my time at Home Depot. read more

The place is packed with rude stuck up employees, and I ended up leaving without a tree, because no one wanted to help me. I talked to two people who both called for someone else to help me, but no one ever actually came to assist me. This was a very negative experience. Great customer service - I love writing good reviews when associates go above and beyond with their customer service. I went in today and was helped by an awesome salesman named Gilberto - I was looking for bird feeders and he walked me over to them and then gave me a ton of helpful tips about the different feeders. I let him know I was looking for hummingbird feeders, and after he showed me those he then showed me different plants that also attract hummingbirds. I happily bought a beautiful hanging plant in addition to the feeder - Gilberto even showed me how to properly trim the flowers! My patio looks great and I can't wait for the hummingbirds to come! read more
