Disappointed in the quality of service. Young man was trying to assist with an online order question since the product we were looking for was not carried in the store, just online. He went to get his supervisor's help since he didn't believe online orders accepted military discounts. His supervisor acted as if he was too busy to hear what we were asking. He gave an answer to what he thought we wanted and walked away. So I stopped him and said he should actually listen to what we were asking. Dude was rude. Finally got on the computer and looked up what we were looking for. When we asked about the military discount, he then explained that anything that was online only was a special order. They do not offer the discount on special orders. The same fixture is available at lamps plus so we are going there. Good service matters. read more

Hey Home Depot, I have an idea, why don't you designate an employee to keeping sanitation wipes accessible to customers as they enter and exit. Visited the Oceanside/ Mission location this morning and the sanitation wipes for customers were empty at the entrance and exit. Nobody wiping down carts, no sanitizer near the self check out after customers use the hand held scanner that a thousand people are touching every hour. The staff in the tool rental department are the best!!! Shout out to Gunner and Felix for all the help! These guys answered all my questions and even made solid recommendations that were spot on. I am glad I took their advice otherwise I would have been stuck. There were two other gentlemen there that also help me but I didn't catch their names. Looove me some Home Depot! I wish I worked here in my younger days. I'm a first year home homeowner and have grown to love this place recently. You can really get lost in inspiration in a place like this. They do so much that I won't be able to review it all but have had good experiences in the depts I have been in like carpeting, tools, paint and garden. One of the things I like about Home Depot versus other places is they offer DIY classes. For a straight builder novice like me this is huge. I'm also a very tactile learner so getting a chance to use some of the power tools and other products hands on is really helpful. Knowing what tools to use and technique is exactly what I need because for many of my personal projects that I have in my mind I simply do not know where to begin and YouTube videos just arn't enough. I recently took my first DIY class at this Home Depot location making a planter and I had a blast. It was a great crowd and the instructor Tom couldn't have been better. He was very witty and friendly and good about getting everyone involved as well as answering all our questions. The setting wasn't in a classroom or anything but on a workbench set up in the front. It wasn't what I was expecting but it worked just fine. When shopping as well I find myself at least 70% of the time needing help finding what I'm looking for cause remember I'm "Mrs. Novice", but thankfully I usually find someone in an orange apron pretty quickly and they are always more than willing to help. Yesterday a gentlemen named Ezekiel helped find all of my 3 items on my list and special ordered one of them that will be arriving in the store for me next week. I look forward to learning more and changing from being Mrs. Novice to Mrs. Handy, thanks to the help of Home Depot and a few YouTube videos, lol! read more

Home Depot has become so disappointing. There is never, never, anyone to help you or answer your questions. This trip, I went to the cash register to ask for help in the hardware section. After 10 minutes, a lady approached me to help but said she was from the electrical section and couldn't answer my questions. Typical. They rarely have a cash register open, only the self checkout register. When you have multiple items, it's really a pain and very inconvenient. Home Depot's have clearly become a self serve proposition with minimal customer service. I try and use local, independent hardware stores whenever possible as they commonly have knowledgeable staff actually present in the different sections of the store asking if they can help you. Yep. I had a five star Home Depot experience recently. True story. Not only was the attendant I spoke to on the phone very efficient recommending what generator I needed to rent, but they were able to hook it up extremely last minute at an affordable price. It took my team about an hour and a half to solve the problem of limited power at a recent event and most of that was due to traffic. The folks at Home Depot worked really fast and were even friendlier at the drop off than my coworker described when he picked up our rental. The big orange warehouse tends to typically generate mostly negative feedback so I gotta give them big ups for coming through in the clutch on this one. read more

In February, I ordered 8 new doors for my house. Through many errors by HD and the door company, the doors werent installed till July. I door was painted the wrong color. 2 more months, and still have mismatched door. Have called HD 5 times, talked to manager, and talked to Matt in charge of doors, and still nothing. Matt was nice till he got 8000.00 out of us, then turned smug in person and on phone. DONT BUY DOORS FROM HD, TOO MANY PEOPLE, AND COMPANIES INVOLVED TO MAKE THE PROCESS EASY. Better prices than Lowe's usually someone told me on most common items. Like that they have the one year return policy for plants and fruit trees. Would go there more often if they were closer to me. I come to this Home Depot mainly for plant things including soil, pots, and actual plants. I've always had a positive experience at the garden center. During my most recent visit, I had a question about repotting orchids and a nice gentleman (Jaylen, I believe...not sure of the correct spelling) answered my question and helped me out. It was a relatively simple question that I wasn't sure about, but the staff in the garden center went an extra mile to find someone who they knew could help me. Well its now been almost 10 months since I decided to go with home depot for my sliders and windows. And still they have failed to complete the job after 3 appointments to finish the job. They absolutely dont care. I even offered them a close by going with the damaged window after 3 tries so I can pay my bill and put this hell behind me. Doesnt matter who I call I get no resolution. I have been here for an hour and half for a return and they keep sending me back and forth and each time I have to stand in line and when I get to someone to talk to they are like " oh I don't know how that works ! Sorry why don't you check with some one in the back" I did his 4 times and I'm not kidding spent 1.5 hours of my day and nothing. Customer service is terrible. It was very clear that he enjoyed his job and it showed through how he helped us. He was super friendly, funny, and gave us honest opinions on the dryers we were looking at. He didn't try to push the more "expensive" ones at us and saw our budget and made sure we were looking at the best and most reliable options they had. Went to this location because it's close to my house. My husband is a contractor and only needed a simple gallon of waterproof paint. I literally was waiting in the paint department for an hour and fifteen minutes! The older gentleman was helping out while his coworker was on her break. He was very rude, had no idea that they even carried the brand of paint I was looking for. After going back and forth I asked to speak to a manager. A very nice lady came up to help. The gentleman looked at her and told her, I'm not going to listen to you because you're not the manager! Again he was rude...Wow I thought! Long story short she turned and walked away from him. He then walked out of the paint department. Does anyone here have any paint mixing skills? Or customer service skills?? Omg the worst experience at this location of The Home Depot! All I needed was a gallon of paint mixed! I have done this same paint mixture a hundred time at other locations of The Home Depot. these guys are back! I had 1 bad experience with 1 jerk that still works there in the toilet area, i went in and asked for a specific toilet, elongated bowl 1.6 gpf, etc. He told me "maybe you'll find that in dream land." I got so pissed cause this guy was big and use to pushing people around you could tell but i was bigger and didn't stand for his intimidation and went and found the toilet i wanted without his help in 20 seconds! I then told him to bring that up front and yelled to the entire store "welcome to dreamland" i went about congratulating all the customers in my isle for being in dreamland. so one asshole a few years ago that works in toilets, hahahaha, didn't deter me. The HD on the 78 is the worlds worst, laid out so bad and confusing, this one is great! After getting their butts kicked by Lowes for years with good service they seemed to have upped their service level, and employees are extremely helpful now, i no longer sit and wait and look, I now get asked upon entry and helped from the moment i walk in the door! Great improvement, good comeback. every other employee at this store is polite, helpful, and knowledgeable of the store and its contents! good job HD read more

This is my favorite Home Depot. They have a really nice selection in the garden center- the best in my opinion of all the local Home Depot stores. The lay-out of the store makes sense. The staff are always helpful. There is always plenty of parking, no matter how busy they are. The paint department is quite quick which is not typical of any Home Depot. read more

I ordered some countertops from HD so this is partly about the HD value and the contractor they chose, below is a copy of the review I gave the contractor: I've been weekend warrioring my kitchen and living room remodel for a couple months and the one part that I wasn't going to attempt myself was granite countertops. I ordered mine through Home Depot who came in at close to $400 cheaper than either Lowes or another installer, which was a good start :) I haven't done this expensive of a remodel and due to the nature of the work, I was a bit nervous (you don't get two tries with stone if you decide you don't like the color/cut). It took about a week from ordering from HD for the guy to come measure, and about a week after that for the measurements to come back, then I chose my stone slab and it took about 2 weeks to have it fabricated and the installers came yesterday. about a month all told which wasn't too bad for me. The installers came yesterday and they were prompt, courteous, cleaned up after their work, friendly. Everything you would ask for in a contractor. On top of that they spent the extra time to make sure everything on the subsurface was as good as it could be. I installed some corbels for an overhang and a couple of them were a little higher than level with the font of the counter, they identified this issue and lowered them for me so everything was straight and level. They finished the work quickly, cleaned up, asked if I had any questions and provided some use and care guidelines and were gone! Everything was great and I am very happy. read more

Terrible customer care. I have been trying to order a fire door for my garage and dealt with them across the last three weeks. After following all their tedious processes, I was told it takes 3 weeks to receive my fire door that they recommended. Then I get a call this morning letting me know of possible issues with the fit of the door and was offered a remeasure, or them sourcing the door from another vendor. I asked them to do the latter to save me time. Then I get a call from a 20 year veteran Home Depot manager providing me with ' customer service' but instead denied my concerns, patronized me and lectured me all the time never acknowledging my concern of the apparent discord and inconsistent information conveyed to me by their staff. She tried to 'reassure' me by telling me "anything can happen" even after the second measure and that actual time to install could potentially be doubled from the promised 3-4 weeks. She continued her diatribe never acknowledging any error on part of Home Depot and failing to hear the customer's concerns implying that they were irrelevant to what needs to happen now! Made me wonder as to why she was recommending this second measure and why I should continue to trust Home Depot to get this right?! As a customer this is sheer incompetence on part of their staff and reflects poor training on customer service. This lady's attitude is especially bothersome, as she was supremely condescending and high handed when she should have been apologetic and at her least heard the customer before proclaiming her stance on what needed to happen. So I asked her to immediately cancel my order . Hopefully she does. I'd be a fool to continue this mindless exercise with them. Have been a loyal home depot customer thus far but will definitely not patronize this department again. read more
