Terrible Service. The employees I'm referring to obviously do not want to be there. i had been waiting for help with getting a key made for 20 minutes....? The manager of the service desk was unable to answer my question unless I walked around to the entrance to the service desk. When I did finally reached the front of the line , the service desk employee could not find anyway to help me and needed to asked the manager(same person standing in the isle I had previously asked for assistance) Finally an employee showed up to help make a duplicate key but it so happened to be this same employee that I had encountered earlier when I had asked for assistance locating 2" furnace filters, he must have been having a bad day and was short and angry dealing with me so i gathered they do not sell 2" filters in store. However, during checkout a wonderful young girl wished me a good day. Too bad that couldn't have been from the other two employees I needed to deal with earlier. It's difficult to find help sometimes, ok a lot of the time however the product is there, can be found and is generally fairly priced. As far as exchanges and returns they have gone out of their way to accommodate me. Was recently at my local Home Depot on Friday, January 17, 2025, buying lightbulbs for a random wattage floodlight lightbulb and had zero idea what I wanted or needed. A younger man came to help me, explained everything, while being extremely patient with my naivety of lightbulbs. I wish I remembered his name because he was awesome and extremely knowledgeable. Although I had no idea what I wanted and needed, he led me to get EXACTLY what I was looking for! Made the process seamless. Had no idea there was so much behind what I see as a simple lightbulb. 15/10! read more

We go to this location a lot for a quick drop if we run out of something or forget something. Usually it is bags or oil. We also buy the sprays here for deers, bugs, and weed killer. Our fertilizer as well. They always treat us awesome. We walk in with dried up dirt all over our clothes, knees, and arms. They don't care. They treat us with respect. A few times we came in to just use the restroom and they didn't care. I like this location because it is one of the closest to where we work. Once we went to Lowe's instead and regretted it. Service: Terrible customer service. Went there last night to purchase an impact wrench. Website said they had 2 in stock. Asked an associate to help me find it. Of course she said it wasn't her area, so she had to call over another guy. That guy had "me" help him try to find it. After looking in a few spots, he eventually said that he could not find it. How the heck do they not know what they have and where it is!! Went down the street and purchased it from Lowes - not that they are any better, was at least able to find it myself there. This is why I shop on Amazon if I don't need it the same day. Do they even care how much money they are losing to online vendors? read more

So for the record, I am a Home Depot guy through and through. Need a tool go to HD, need gardening stuff off to HD, need to rent equipment its HD again. However, this store is by far the worse one I have visited in seven states. Being military, move around a lot and visited many HD in the country. Went in to get some repair supplies and a tool. Needed help finding an item, and the whole affair became an odyssey! First couldn't find anyone, once found an employee ol' grumpy was busy loading shelves and arranging tiles. Told me he is busy and doesn't know as not his department. Found another and she acted so frustrated you'd think i asked to borrow money from her. So off i went and found the item, once at the check out young man there roles his eyes when i request his assistance. Apparently he was doing me a favor. By far the worst customer service and attitude, which is sad as many customers in the area are good honest blue collar folks spending good $$$ here. read more

I am a big fan of Home Depot which is my go to store for DIY projects, tool purchases and home appliances. The prices are always as low if not lower than the other chain home improvement stores with a large selection of merchandise that cover most home improvement projects you will take on. This chains biggest strengths and what separates them from Lowes and Menards is the knowledge of the associates who run the individual departments within the store and the high end contractor grade tools they carry. The associates who work in the stores by and large have very good knowledge on the processes, tools and product you will need to complete a project and can give you quality guidance on the DIY front. This is particularly true of this store. There is not a week that goes by where I am not roaming the aisles of this store planning my next project or salivating over a new tool. If you're in the Pontiac/Bloomfield area and are looking for material for a DIY project and maybe some technical guidance than this is the store for you. read more

Bought some trees from them and about half of them didn't make it through the winter. They clearly state on their website you have a year warranty. Tried to return them today and now they have a 90 day policy on trees and wouldn't return them. I wouldn't have lugged them all the way there if they had that on the website. I feel bad about writing this review as I'm a very regular customer, & spend at least $500-1000 a month there on stuff I don't need, & doing DIY projects I don't finish. So I apologize on my lack of writing a review when my regular shopping sprees have been great! But this one is just too frustrating not to write a review completely pertaining to day's 2 trips. First off, after my diy attempt for my daughter's closet had failed, I opted to go the more traditional & guaranteed success route.. or so I thought. Last night (so 3 Trips in 24 hrs) I went with the cleaner look, & purchased the closet maid white laminate closet system (t4).. all is great, put it together.. yay. But I kept thinking about those drawers & doors, and top shelf. So what do I do? Drop another $233 on 4 drawers, a set of doors, and a top shelf with the brackets. Drawer #1 was a complete pain in the ass. But not your fault, it's Closet Maid's fault. By the time I get to door #4.. I open the box. Low & behold, had I checked @ the store that the box was already opened, I wouldn't have purchased it, but I didn't, & did.. & found... a half put together drawer. Knicked, with most of the correct pieces already installed, and the ones that weren't aren't even for the drawer! Oh. It looks like I forgot to include the black finger smudges & prints, & "stuff" that looks like it could be glue but that would make sense because the laminate on that side is missing. Like. Really.... So basically you trust your customers that much to not double checked a tape product, then resell it, not even bothering to check what's inside the box? Hmmm... not getting any ideas, but if that's easy to return something.. My 2nd trip was made before drawer #4, because my dewalt drill ran out of battery. Get to the store, ask for her because I can't find any 20v battery chargers, & the lady that always has the less than stellar attitude rounds the corner. Spent about 20 sec, checks the ryobi section (hello, Dewalt anyone?) & concludes they're all out. Okay, well no you're not because the app says there's quite a few in stock, but thanks for misinforming me & you just lost Home Depot a sale by your laziness & bad customer service! Luckily my already irritated mood wasn't leaving without a battery charger or drill. Thanks for having to return again tomorrow! For the 4th trip in 48 hours. P.s. please get the door wall that was ordered for me right this time! It was supposed to be here Saturday, but a 6 ft, instead of 8 ft door was ordered instead.... read more

I went up to Home Depot on old Telegraph and Orchard Lk road to exchange an empty propane tank for full. I was assured the exchange process was handled outside. I get there, find the propane purchase machine which has a credit card slot only to find out you have to go inside to pay. Going inside was a MISTAKE. 1) Not all customers were wearing masks. 2) Every HD employee I saw had masks but did not over their noses. 3) The employees DO NOT observe the 6 ft rule. While waiting in line on my x.. the person assigned to keep the line moving had to confer with a cashier leaving for break (maybe 2 feet apart), they then split apart, one walking on each side of me in what could not have been more than a 4 ft wide isle. I tell them they need to cover their nose for the mask to work. "Let me worry about that." was the response. As I'm trying to pay, the cashier again is not covering her nose. I mention she needs to, she blows me off. As I'm talking to her I feel someone bump past me. I look and another employee is trying to empty a trash can. She too has not covered her nose. There was NO reason the trash can had to be emptied at that moment. I tell her to back off please..6 ft. Mind you she's already touched me. She backs off a couple feet, looks at me like I'm crazy then proceed to try to reach around me to empty the trash. I had to tell her to back off 2 more times. Now a 5th employee comes over to talk to my cashier. Granted she is standing on the other side of the cash register but takes her mask OFF and precedes to yell above the din so my cashier can hear. I WILL NOT BE BACK, it's that simple. There are safer choices. read more

Beware of Home Depot and their UNETHICAL SHIPPING PRACTICES. I ordered a 1/2" torque wrench online and the standard delivery fee (was supposed to be) 8.99 since it was small enough to deliver by car... instead, the morons charged me a whopping $35. I called customer service at the Pontiac, MI. store and the CSA said that she couldn't seperate the $35. delivery fee from the order. So I opted to cancel the order because I'm not paying $35. for an item that qualifies for a standard $8.99 delivery fee. The order was NOT canceled and it arrived at my door this morning. I will take the item back to the store expecting a FULL REFUND INCLUDING THE RIDICULOUS $35. DELIVERY FEE. If this issue is not resolved, I am fully prepared to litigate in court. Give me a full refund including shipping ! PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN HAVING ITEMS SHIPPED TO HOME. They will charge you the maximum amount even when it's NOT warranted to do so. This whole thing started with me ordering a refrigerator, a glass top electric stove and a dishwasher. I ordered them November 4th with a delivery date of December 14th. I was so excited because it would be perfect to have a nice Stove to bake for Christmas and to roast my prime rib in on Christmas Day. My stove was about 20 years and the noise from my dishwasher drowned out the TV. So the Monday before delivery I got a email from Home Depot to confirm my delivery date and a checklist for when my appliances arrived so there would be a smooth delivery. The email indicated that Friday they would contact me to give me a window of delivery time. Well that never happened . So on Saturday I went to the Home Depot website to look for a contact number and then noticed that they changed my delivery date without any type of notice. When I called they said, "OH" the refrigerator was on back order and they will not deliver any appliances without all of them available at the same time. So, I'm in a panic because it is 11 days before Christmas and if I wait for Home Depot I will not have a stove or any other appliances. In my excitement for the delivery I threw away my stove and dishwasher. I painted my kitchen and put in a new floor so once I removed the horrid stove and dishwasher they went straight to the curb. So I did a search and found a very nice refrigerator used that was pretty much like the one I ordered. Then on Facebook marketplace I found a glass top convection oven that just needed me to change the connection from a 4 prong to a 3 prong plug. I canceled the stove and refrigerator that I ordered. Christmas was saved and we had our traditional cookies and dinner. So, then the dishwasher........ OMG, REALLY!!!!! I get the night before notice that they are delivering on Sat, Jan 4 and so on. ... on Saturday the guy comes to the door. He has sort of a tough demeanor. But I could care less. I show him to the kitchen and he says to me, " Have I been here before? I'm like "No. He says, are you sure? I'm thinking in the back of my mind. WTF, if you or anyone from Home Depot has been here before don't you think I , being the home owner would know! After a while he has the dishwasher in and is attempting to connect the supply line and he can't . The supply line keeps skipping when he is trying to thread it on. He calls me to tell me. He try's to tell me that it is stripped at the main connection. I tell him that that is not possible because he just took the cap off that I put on and it fit perfectly. He tries to tell me he doesn't know what to do. I told him to leave it and I will figure it out. He says to me, YOU? I looked at him and said, Yes, why not? He proceeded to tell me the pipe was soldered on. I again told him I will figure it out. He continued to try and even went and got another supply line from his truck. He finally gave up and called in to his service operator to tell them what was going on. Now keep in mind that at NO point do I tell him I will get a plumber. After speaking to the people at the main communication he tells me they want to talk to me. The person on the other end tells me that the man cannot connect and that he said, I WAS GOING TO CALL A PLUMBER TO FIX the problem. No, I NEVER said that. I told him I would figure it out. He left. I called my brother in Florida ( who can literally can fix anything) to discuss what was going on. I also went to you tube. There were 3 possibilities..... a new compression fitting, a adaptor or a new supply line. None of which this man thought I could accomplish or even k ew himself what to do. He told me twice he has done many of these jobs. I went to ace hardware and and got a new supply line. It was a perfect fit. I did try a adaptor and it was complicated. If the supply line didn't work I was going to go for a compression fitting. Now my message for all of this stupidity is that. He actually thought his job was brain surgery and I would not be able to perform. He certainly could not figure out the problem. He came into my home and insulted me a few times too often. This is the 21st century and even the threading a hose or using a wrench or screwdriver, a compression fitting, a propane to solder or changing out a plug or hooking a plug up IS NOT BRAIN SURGERY and does not require a man to do it. It is mind blowing that he actually thinks his job is that complicated and that he is the only one who knows what he is doing. Home Depot you need to have a few women doing this or you need to train these men on the reality of going into peoples homes and insulting them when they know nothing about them. A horrible horrible experience all the way around. My dishwasher is dented on the left side, I I have had a stressful and insulting experience from beginning to end. read more

Online orders here are bad during COVID-19. I had to walk in the same line as everyone, okay fine... but then I could not easily leave after I picked up at locker as exit doors were locked and things were barricaded off, so I had to go through the cashier line after I already paid and picked up my online order. In general, I would consider this location to be average to below average, but about the only time I had much interaction with their staff was one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. I rented a trencher to bury some electrical cable. In total I had about 155' of trench to do. After about 85' the trencher blew a hydraulic line. I called and told them the situation and they said that I would have to bring it back in for repair or replacement. It was getting dark but I wanted to get started on it in the morning so I brought it, leaking hydraulic fluid through my yard and van, back and swapped it out for their manual one (not self-propelled, you have to pull it along), brought it home. The next morning I got started and went maybe 15' before the blade stopped spinning. I tried but couldn't get it to move. I called again and they said I'd have to bring it in and they didn't have a replacement, so I'd have to wait a few weeks until it was repaired. I went back out, not able to wait that long, and spun the blade a little and it seemed to be free, so I started it back up but still no blade movement. After a little while, it started to smell like burning rubber and I noticed that the clutch was red hot, so I immediately shut it down again. I found that a rock (about 1.5" in diameter) was stuck between the blade and one of the sprockets. The blade was so loose that a large rock had made its way in there and jammed it. It would rotate in reverse but then catch the rock again when it went forward. I removed the rock and tried it again and it worked, for a little bit, until the fried belt broke. I loaded it up again and brought it back. Now is when it starts to get interesting. I understand that machinery breaks, so I wasn't mad. Since I was unable to finish my project, and both of their pieces of equipment had broken, I expected the rental to be either free or heavily discounted. Instead, they said that since I had had them for a total of over 24 hours (I think it was around 30), that it was a 2 day rental, so the cost was going to be twice as much, but they would be "kind enough" to waive the cleaning fee (I didn't clean their broken equipment). I explained repeatedly that I was unable to complete my project due to their broken equipment, and that having them for longer than 24 hours was an inconvenience to me, because if they hadn't broken I would have been done in under 24 hours, but they would not budge. I asked to speak to the store manager. After waiting something like 20 minutes the assistant store manager finally showed up. The rental counter lady explained the situation to the manager, which I overheard. I then explained the situation as I saw it. She said that she thought that waiving the cleaning fee was fair, because she now had two broken pieces of equipment (implying that I had broken them, and saying I was lucky that I had purchased the optional insurance!) that had to be fixed now and that she was unable to rent them for those 30 hours. We talked a while longer and she went down to a little less than one 24 hour rental, which, after having spent a couple of hours arguing about the cost, I found unacceptable. She asked what I thought was fair so I said, maybe $50, because I was going to have to go and rent the equipment from somewhere else. She said that wasn't important, because her equipment had been out of service and now had to be repaired, and she couldn't do less than $100, because she ran a business and needed to post a profit. I asked for the name of the district manager, because that was ridiculous. She gave it to me. We talked about the price some more and I finally said I didn't care what she charged me because I was rather tired of arguing about it and I was going to call the district manager and I was pretty sure they'd take care of it. She ended up charging me something like 80, and I left, after having been there for 2 or 3 hours arguing. When I got home, I called the Home Depot national number. It took a few attempts, because we got misdirected once or twice (I don't think this was intentional, one was to the large equipment group) and finally got someone to help. He apologized several times, saying that wasn't the correct way to handle the situation. He asked if a $100 gift card would be ok and we said that was even more than we had paid to rent the equipment, but he said that we shouldn't have had to go to so much trouble when it was their equipment that broke and emailed the $100 gift card immediately. So, nothing against Home Depot as a whole, but the management of this location cares very little about their customers. There is a Lowes and a Menards just down the street. Even if it is a little further, that is where I'd recommend you go, unless you enjoy spending several hours transporting broken equipment back and forth and arguing with management about said equipment. Even though I eventually came out ahead by some $20, it was definitely not worth the time. read more

I've been a long-time customer at the store. I've had a lot of good experiences some terrific people that I've worked with sales people who help me select product but lately I'm running across a lot of people with a tremendous amount of attitude. They delivered the wrong tile to my house when I went to customer service they set up someone to deliver the new tile that person couldn't pick up the old tile so they had to set up another delivery person to come out and pick up the wrong tile but they won't pick it up without a signature and I'll be damned if I'm gonna take a day off from work to wait for them to show up to pick up tile that they delivered on the wrong color in the first place they give you a window of delivery time from 8 o'clock in the morning until 7 o'clock at night give me a break. I told customer service today that if they didn't pick the tile up the next week it was going all in the garbage for pick up on Tuesday he said that's your prerogative! Indeed it is and I will throw it out there belongs to them not to me. read more

Ok, let me preface this by saying I normally HATE Home Depot. I hate the clutter, the poor layout, and usually the selection. But this Home Depot is different- and particularly useful to someone renovating & restoring a historic home. This place has plaster and lathe (two kinds), which is almost impossible to find at other big box home stores. When you're working in a house from 1920, trying to find the materials needed to stay true to historic details is stressful and often requires ordering parts/material online... not always an option when its something heavy or cumbersome to ship (at least if you're on a budget like we are). Additionally, this HD has the widest selection of rental items I've ever seen. You can rent a friggin manlift- something we'll be doing soon, since we need to repaint the eaves on the house. Again, this is huge if you're renovating- renting a hardcore hammer drill for a day is way more cost effective than buying one new. Normally I shop at Lowes - however, this place has become my go-to when I need supplies in the area. read more

I went there to buy a new toilet. I had a few questions but nobody was around to help. I finally found an employee but he didn't know about toilets so he called someone else. That person never came so I had to go find someone else. Then I tried to do the self checkout but it wouldn't accept the bar code. 10 minutes later finally someone came to help and had to enter it manually. I asked for some help loading it in my car so she called someone. I waited 10 minutes and had to ask someone else if could get some help. After another 10 minutes I just rolled it out to my vehicle and asked a stranger to help me. The employees at this store have a bad attitude. They just don't care about customer service. There is a Lowes right around the corner so I think I'll start going there read more

Ordered a chest freezer. Got a delivery window of 2:30-6:30, took time off work because they said I had to be there. Driver called at noon, and when I said I couldn't be there until the delivery window told me I would have to reschedule. Called customer service multiple times to try to get it delivered when they said they would and finally wound up cancelling the order. read more

They have switched all checkout lanes to self check out and if you want to use cash you have to wait and wait and wait to get a cashier, and that's IF you get one that knows what is going on. I bought a Samsung refrigerator online it is the worst designed frig. ever seen I have been going back and forth with management since I got it . It sounds like a small motorcycle and there is frost in the freezer there is only one shelf that is adjustableit can go up or down 3 inches so if I have a gallon of milk it has to go in the door shelf. If I would bought this from any other retailer I would be able to exchange it for a functional make, I said I would take a lose on it to get a creatable brand. Theydid send a repairman out but nothing changed. I could have bought this through amazon or sears I would have ben taken care of bucause they want to have a satisfied customers read more

This place is a disgrace. Checked on line for availability of wooden screen doors. Phoned ahead to verify the 6 units listed were, in fact, available and in good shape. Told they were there and in good condition. Go to the store and all 6 were on the bottom shelf area. Complete with torn screens, framework separating - basic candidates for a scrap heap. And absolutely no help available to show the unsaleable condition of these doors. And forget trying to find 4 pieces of 2 x 4 lumber that were straight. I'm certainly not going to sift thru a 4 foot stack to try and find them buried beneath dozens of warped boards. This unusable lumber should be culled from the stack before it even hits the floor for sale. That would mean, of course, that the management gives a crap about the customers that walk thru the front door which is evident that they don't. Can't wait for Menards to open up their new store right down the street. I've been in their stores and the difference is like night and day. I give this Home Depot about 6 months after they open the Menards store and it will turn into a mini Summit Place. Vacant, deserted, and ready to be torn down. read more

I really can't stand when you go into a store and the associates hound you. If you're like me you'll love this location so much. Especially when you can't find a department associate to help you out when needed. I just love waiting around 20 mins and then having to to up front to the service desk to find someone that can help. Oh, and then waiting another 20 mins because the said help is busy outback unloading a truck. This location must be poorly managed or in major lack of staff. Especially on a Saturday. read more

Okay, normally I don't bother to review chains, a Home Depot is a Home Depot, right? But this one is on my route home and so I've stopped in a few times after the move for assorted Home Depot things and the service here is genuinely really great. There's always a lot of staff around, and they actually smile and chat and make the experience much nicer than at the one closer to our house where I once had a whole return transaction with someone who never looked up at me. This one does seem maybe smaller than some others, so I'm not sure if the selection is any different, but it's always had the random plumbing part or trash can I'm looking for. Their price matching is a joke. It will only price match if it is the exact same brand but Home Depot makes their own brand for most things so they can avoid that. Go to Tractor Supply Company it is cheaper for most things. The manager talked down to me like I was stupid because it wasn't the same brand. read more
