I was looking for some plants to help block my front window. When I stopped by to look around, I was not greeted or asked if I needed any assistance. I shopped the entire time with no acknowledgment. I made my purchase and spent over $100 in gardening and again not one employee asked if I need assistance loading my car. I only stopped by at this location because of the convenience to my house. Entry off of Monterey is awkward. Two lanes reduce to one right at entry - most people disregard and merge without signaling. Parking lot needs a simplification and upgrade. Store is laid out well, items are easy to find. The staff is mediocre - not as pleasant and helpful as the La Quinta, Indio, and Lawndale locations. I'll probably mostly avoid this location in the future. read more

Out of the blue, I was contacted by HD management one evening and they were committed to making things right. While you never want to see the situation devolve to a point where leadership must get involved, I really appreciate that someone finally understood the big picture. It has restored my confidence and I was happy to visit the store over the weekend. There was a very helpful associate in the fan section who helped us. I actually tried to cancel an Amazon order that hadn't shipped yet as I preferred this item and could have it immediately. Amazon was actually very difficult to work with and gave me nothing but AI responses. I told them I was literally at HD getting much better service from a real person. I'm happy to say I'd much more confident about making purchases at HD than places like Amazon now. I really have no idea if that chat exchange was with a human or a bot. As AI continues to evolve, it's stores that have attentive humans who will get my business. read more

This is the worst HD in the world. Customer service absolutely sucks ( if you can even find an employee). Make sure you have a lot of time because even the simplest thing will take forever. I thought this would be a top notch Home Depot. I'm used to the Palm Springs one. Well, things like mortar stop, which the app said was in stock and where it was, were no-place to be found. The stucco was one broken bag and a huge mess, but 94 in stock? The things I could find were reasonably priced and the cashiers were very nice. I looked for folks on the floor to help me, but that was a lost cause. I'll not go out of my way for this one again. Decent Home Depot in Rancho Mirage. Easy to get in and out of the parking lot, unlike the store in La Quinta. They did not have what I needed in stock, but I was able to order it online and it will be shipped free to the store for pickup. What I wanted was a little niche so not a big deal. read more

My Fridge went out 2 Weeks ago. They don't keep appliances in stock, they don't deliver to the area I live. They say you can have it delivered to the store and pick it up. OK let's do it I need a fridge. On scheduled PU date they say it's here. 70 miles round trip to PU ITS NOT THERE. So they say we will have it here the following week, again they call on the 2nd scheduled date say it's there in 15 minutes come get it. Another 70 mile round trip in an F350 that's not cheap to on gas. Again, NO FRIDGE no apology just a very unconcerned manager. No fridge for 2 weeks. I did get rewarded with lots of wasted time, fuel and effort and a complacent, snotty manager. Hmmm would you ever return after an experience like that? Stopped by the Lowes 2 blocks away, I spoke with department manager and relayed what had happened and explained that I was desperate for a new refrigerator as I have 5 grandchildren for the holidays with no refrigerator, living out of ice chests for last couple weeks., as I was certain my good friends at Home Depot were going to take care of me! The Lowe's professional did a strange thing, he looked on the computer and found the exact one at one of their local sister stores, it then got even weirder he personally called the other store verified that they actually had one there, told them I was coming to pick it up and to put my name on it. I picked up the same refrigerator for less, They would have expedited delivery to me on Monday but due to my circumstances I went and grabbed it right away. Guess who will be getting all my business in the future? It will not be HD not ever!! read more

Bad rat problem in the wood area. So bad that they had to put all checkout snacks in tupperwares Most (not all) staff members that ive asked for help have been utterly useless. Also another stupid little change they did for no reason; you cant enter through the center doors and you have to walk all the way around for no reason. Just an overall disappointment of a location. I go the extra mile and visit lowes whenever I can. Their wood is way better and they actually carry Kreg products. read more

UPDATE TO MY PRIOR REVIEW OF 7/22 I have been trying to resolve this issue since March 2022, even though I ordered my closet and install on January 3, 2022, which I paid-in-full for a service still NOT completed, but given a date of mid-March for its completion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HISTORY January 3, 2002. Ordered my closet set to be designed and installed. I initially worked with Ray Villacette, the designer. I was told my closet built in would probably be built in early March, this was acceptable because I was not planning on leaving the country until April. After repeated requests for a status on the install date I was told that it would not be delivered until Late March, then proceeded to April, by then I left the country but our kind neighbor Chuck Adams said he would oversee the build. Keep in mind between January 3 and March 26 there was a lot of back and forth to try and get a date pinned down because I still was in the country. Most of my emails to Courtney Wilson were never acknowledged nor responded to. On March 26, I received this note... "Good Morning, We do not have a current update at this time. This has a missed shipped date from the vendor. We have reached out to the vendor for an update but have not heard back. We will follow up with them again on Monday. Thank you, Courtney Wilson" No follow up was received. April 11, 2022 I had already left the country, so I sent yet another note asking for an update. After much back and forth again, first good news, they said they could deliver it on April 19. I was ecstatic and the date was confirmed. My happiness was short lived, install was not completed because they did not have all the material (eg no mounting screws/bolts so nothing could be installed). I Also understand that a portion of the bottom shelving was damaged, and would be fixed. Well since this was not completed after much back-and-forth again, I was told again, you had vendor issues, so install would be delayed until May. May 26, 2022. 2nd attempt. The installers told us when they checked the back of the truck the parts needed were NOT there. Again, I asked the question, "Don't you check your inventory before you leave?' Also, claimed my design did not have closet rods in one section? WTF. Logically speaking how do you have a closet without a rod? So I had to resend them my original approved design. JUNE 29. 3RD TRY will hopefully be the charm. Again, the installers found out that the equipment needed was not placed in the truck. We once again asked, why didn't you check before you left. As of Today July 30, we are still waiting. And we have had no updates. Do you think as a company this is acceptable? My last note to Courtney... "I just have one simple question. With all the failures and incompetence, WILL MY CLOSET EVER GET DONE? I don't need to go into the timeline of all the failures, but this was promised to be done in March when I ordered and paid-in-full for this in January. This is not even bordering on ridiculous anymore, this is ridiculous!" And as usual, there has been no response to my last note. Jul 30, 2022, 1:59 PM No acknowledgment they received this note, eh? After waiting 2 months for cabinets, 1 bank was defective and required more weeks of waiting. 36" cabinets were delivered as 33" cabinets and required extensive work to make them fit. Despite giving them the model number of my drawer fridge, they left a space 3" too small. The quality of the cabinets was disappointing. The staff were often unavailable or unhelpful. read more

Customer service is rock-bottom at the Palm Desert Home Depot. I took delivery of materials for a floor installation, and the delivery driver left trash & wooden pallets in my driveway, blocking me from getting in or out. I called the store & they said "that's part of the delivery." Said it was my problem, in other words. I asked for the supervisor, who told me Home Depot uses third-party contractors for delivery & that Home Depot isn't responsible for what they do. I told him OF COURSE Home Depot is responsible for what contrators they hire do. Home Depot has gotten too big, too rude, too dumb, and too expensive, and like Sears they will die a long slow death & finally & thankfully be buried & forgotten. read more

I hate this place. Never have I seen so many rude people lead by totally apathetic managers. I've had a few bad experiences but the latest one wasted so much of my time. I specifically called up their customer service line to see if they would cut a piece of butcher block and they said yes. When I got there I had to wait for 30 minutes for someone to come out, only for their manager to tell them they can't do it. I have wasted so much time and money on projects only to have things show up incorrect or broken, I'm done with this place. I'll go to any other Home Depot in the area before this one read more

Had to wait 45 minutes for a single cut (to shorten a board) while the saw operator made thirty cuts for a customer and even then he had to wait for another operator to make a single cut. On top of that, the saw operator did not know to apply masking tape to prevent chipping the edge As a final affront, the supervisor I spoke with said they don't provide that service. At least they had the product I wanted. Their big box competitor didn't. Next time, my neighborhood hardware store. read more

I find myself in a shocking position writing this 5 star review for HD because almost every HD I've been to was virtually impossible to get any decent service. Maybe the key is to visit on a Friday evening when everyone else is at dinner so you have many HD staff at your disposal? We had several questions in various departments and each time received courteous help with friendly attitudes! I almost felt like I was in the twilight zone lol.
