Stopped at this Home Depot to find a universal remote for a ceiling fan, but I decided to buy a new ceiling fan. I went to the customer service desk because I was parked in Handicap and it would be easier for me to check out there. There were 3 employees there, and no customers and I was told that they were too busy to check me out. I explained that I am parked in handicap and checking out here would be a lot easier. I bought a gas combo washer/dryer online and paid to have it delivered and the old one taken away. The delivery guys came and when they found out i had not shut off the gas they left it in the garage. I called my plumber who then informed me that i needed electric instead of gas. I came here primarily to buy a gift card to give to someone else but while I was there I looked around a little bit. The aisles were neatly kept and the store was clean. There was plenty of staff around the store to help customers find what they needed and answer questions. At the register area there was very little waiting in line and the person who activated the gift card that I was purchasing was very fast and efficient. The parking lot was easy to get in and out of. I would recommend this store to others. read more

Home Depot for the second time in a row has stealthily canceled part of my order without notice. This resulted in me having to re-enter my large order, including typing back in the gift cards, and then of course I couldn't get the same shipment date at this point as I originally had. Never had this issue with Lowe's, or any other company for that matter. If it wasn't for the gift cards I had, I would not have even bothered trying to order from Home Depot. Worst service ever! We bought 40 cases of hardwood and paid $135 for them to deliver it to our doorstep. The order confirmation clearly indicated that the items would be delivered to your home. The delivery guy dropped all the boxes in the lobby and in spite of showing him the confirmation of in-home delivery, he did not deliver it to our place. It took us 2 hours to carry each box to our house. We called up the store and after being on the phone for 45 min, they told us that we should have put in "deliver to door step" in the delivery instructions. Why would we do that when the order confirmation clearly said that it would be delivered to the house. Secondly, we we asked for the 135$ refund, they told us that the only way we'll get refund back is by taking all the boxes back to the store. read more

When there's a place that vacillates between 5 stars and 1 star, you've got to wonder. Well, I didn't go there for custom-cut shades or cabinets. I went there for PVC pipes. So, here's my story. The problem was that I couldn't get them to fit in my car, so I needed them cut a few feet, but none of the people in the Plumbing Department would do it. This struck me as maddening because there was a large electric pipe cutting machine right there next to the PVC pipes, so I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't do it. FYI, I'm not a plumber so I don't have some fancy tool like a PVC ratchet cutter or a miter saw. I did YouTube it and saw some dude cut a 1" PVC pipe with a string. No joke. That was a bit mind-blowing, but I wasn't going to do it on 20+ PVC pipes. If that were the end of the story, then I would have given this place 1 star (the lowest rating possible on Yelp). But then I talked with Marie and explained the situation. Who is Marie? She's at the Customer Service desk, and the moment I saw her, I beelined it to her area because she has the look of someone who gets things done, no matter how difficult. Need an igloo to be built in Australia during a heat wave? Call Marie. Need a ballast tank fixed ASAP on the USS South Dakota, the most advanced nuclear attack submarine in the U.S. Navy's arsenal? Call Marie. She's a problem-solver, and those kinds of people are invaluable for any organization. I explained the situation to her, and then she immediately called her manager (I think his name was Dennis). She got off the phone with him, looked me directly in the eyes and promised me she would get it done by that night before she left so I could pick it up the following morning. Well, when I went the next morning, not only were the pipes cut, but they were cut perfectly. Anyone who has cut PVC pipes knows that it's so easy to be sloppy and cut them off-angle. These were perfect. So, kudos to Marie, her manager (Dennis?), and whoever actually cut the pipes because it's that kind of service that's going to have me repeatedly going back to Home Depot for anything remotely related to my home. read more

I just did the self check out where someone was nice enough to help me but then as I'm going out the door some young kid with a mustache and medium length hair asked to see my receipt. He asked to see my receipt even as he was helping other people. This made me mad. Every time I go here this kid with the mustache is upfront. He's got issues. There's a reason I call these stores "Home Despot". You need some piece of hardware? Need to build a frame? Want a new power drill? Sure, you *could* go to Ace down Chahhlestown, but there's a chance they don't have what you need. So you go to the Despot. Now, usually, in my experience anyway, this entails a lot of wandering around, trying to apply logic to the titles of the aisles, and reconciling what they say they contain versus what they actually contain. When I reach my typical level of complete frustratitude after about 5 minutes of this BS, I go find a worker. Or at least I try to. They're always helping someone else. Or up on a cherry picker, or talking on some walkie talkie. Or holding up a finger. ------------------------- Rockland is a little different. I noticed a LOT more employees here, and quite a few of them just standing guard at the heads of a few aisles, ready to point folks in the right direction. Just walked in, headed straight for a white-haired gent in dad glasses and said "scuse me, sir, where might I find 2-inch round casters?" "Right this way!" he said cheerfully. I noticed around me plenty of other people enjoying the same level of customer service. Maybe I got lucky. Maybe this *particular* Saturday afternoon everyone who would normally be performing their weekly home improvement projects were off at the racetrack. Hubs got a deal through his Home Depot card that gave him interest-free payments on qualified purchases for 18 months. Since I take care of inside the house and he takes care of outside the house, this was the perfect opportunity to get a new lawnmower. Let's face it, I just went along for moral support and a stop at Starbucks en route. Well, we went on one of the first nice Saturdays in a long time. Needless to say, it was packed. He picked out a lawnmower that he wanted and we were helped by a staff member who said that although there were no more on the sales floor, there were some in the back and he would have someone bring one out and we could pick it up at the Service Desk. We explained that we also needed to get a dehumidifier and he said that's fine since it would take a few minutes to get the lawnmowers. After being unimpressed with the quantity of dehumidifiers available after 10 minutes, we went to the Service Desk to get the lawnmower. "No, it's not here yet." Okay, so we waited for another 10 minutes. No dice. We went back to ask the sales person where it was. "It's coming. It takes a few minutes to bring out." Okay, but it's been over 20 minutes. "Can I help you?" asked another person 10 minutes later after we stood at the front staring at the salesperson. We explained we've been waiting for now over half an hour to buy a fairly expensive lawnmower. "Oh, I'm sure they are bringing it out. It takes a few minutes." In any average person's vocabulary "a few minutes" does not equate to over 30 minutes. After waiting over 30 minutes, it wasn't even worth finding a manager to explain the situation since we were sure it would either take over 30 minutes to find the manager OR we would have been told the same thing: "It's on its way." We left. We went to Lowe's in Abington and bought a better quality lawnmower with the same financing terms for a lower cost with MUCH better service. read more

The selection is pretty good, but it's not that big a store compared to others, so figure more home improvement and less home decor and appliances. The tile selection is better than Lowe's, but they don't have much for kitchen cabinet displays or stoves/ dishwashers. Or lighting... but I have had really great service here. +1 for the connected Dunkin' Donuts. -1 for no changing tables in the rest room, especially when you need to buy grout and have a baby with a poopy diaper. read more

Ugh so pissed they cut the shades I brought incorrectly. I brought in a original shade to give the measurements. I just got home and realized it does not fit the window. I really hope they take them back or I'll be pissed because I spent $78 DO NOT GO HERE for shades. I went back today to get them fixed. I recognized both guys that "helped" me on Saturday. One guy advised the other guy on how to cut them. Well apparently, they can not measure. People there were helpful in loading my brand new toolbox but some parts of the box were gone on the main box. Got it home and the box was garbage wish I hadn't helped load and then unloaded it into my garage just to have a 4 hour window to be home for them to pick it up and not even be able to replace the product I waited weeks for. Literally waited for the box to finish my garage and now I have to find something else to buy. Waste of time and haven't seemed to care to fix the problem. I had a proud moment in Home Depot the other day. I went in there ALONE and came out having bought a fridge and a new Weber Grill. Le'ts put this into perspective: I am getting on in my years and I am just now experiencing home ownership for the first time. (I rented for years and then, I don't really think I can count previously living in the condo my husband already owned when I married him). So, here I am in our new house in the burbs and Home Depot has become a part of my life, whether I like it or not. Previously, HD was the kind of place I avoided going into at all costs. I usually sat and waited in the car or if I really had no choice, I reluctantly went in with my husband but I always got itchy and had to pee the second I walked in there. How did they convert a girl like me? Well, for starters the FREE POPCORN helped. And, the free chain saw give-away every 30 minutes one weekend was exciting (we didn't win and in hindsight, what would we have done with a chainsaw anyway?) The staff are really helpful. Now, I tried Lowe's but when you ask where the doorknobs are, someone sort of half-heartedly points off into some distant direction and says "over there". At Home Depot, they walk you right over to the item, or at the very least, the aisle. They also offer free assembly. I opted for that for the grill, thinking I was doing my husband a huge favor by saving him the trouble of doing it himself. But, we did have to wait about 3 days to get the grill assembled and by the time it was ready the recent flood of March 2010 was well underway. Anyway, since that day I've been back and I even bought a new hot water heater all by myself. I know I'm starting to sound cocky and all but trust me, i'm hardly ready for my own show on the DIY network. The takeaway however is that now, I can go into Home Depot, stroll through the aisles, munch some popcorn, find what I need and keep my sanity. It's a major breakthrough. read more

So normally every interaction I've had here with the staff has been great. However on Tuesday 5/15/18 I had an online order that was ready for pick up. When I went to pick it up there was a young women with pink hair who was clearly over whelmed trying to handle the customers at the returns/pick ups.. When I gave my information to the employee they pulled up my order number on the computer but couldn't find were it was.... After looking for 10 minutes the employee told me she couldn't find my order...Several employees came and went, one in particular who I believe was named either Elle or Felicia was blatantly ignoring her and the other customers . When she was asked to help with my order she refused and said " I don't know and I don't care ". when I asked if she could stop what she was doing and help her incompetent associate stop ignoring me and in most passive aggressive way possible finally took it upon herself to get my order... To summarize... Home Depot which is or was a fortune 500 company needs to make sure people like Felicia are not in a customer service roll... Stocking shelves or cleaning toilets in the back would probably be better suited for her skills.. read more

I went in looking for two things: plumbing and electronics. The staff on the floor ran away every time I tried to track anyone down. At one point I asked three different people for help and they all said they didn't know how​ to help me and didn't know how to find someone who could help me. (I couldn't stop thinking about that movie "Dumb and Dumber.") I went to customer service and asked about electronics. Then they paged someone. After hanging out in the aisle that they told me to wait at and after no one came after 10-15 minutes, I went back and asked about a plumbing person. They told me to wait in that aisle, and no one showed up. When I went back to customer service they said the plumbing person and the electronics person were one in the same and that this person had just left for lunch-break and wouldn't be back for an hour. (Thanks for telling me this before you paged them!) After about an hour and a half, some contractors (not employees), helped me figure some things out. An hour later, an employee came to talk to me. This person was quite knowable and friendly. This is the only reason I give this place one star. Otherwise zero would be my verdict. read more

Registered for a DIY kitchen cabinet course on their website and received a confirmation email. When we arrived at the store no one knew anything about it. We were led around the store to multiple locations that it allegedly could be. The class simply did not exist and management failed to notify anyone or remove it from their website. Complete incompetency by management at this location. It's unacceptable to waste a group of people's Saturday morning with a fake class. Appears to be some sort of sales pitch scam that they couldn't even execute correctly. Avoid this location and potentially this chain at all costs. I just had a truly memorable experience at the Home Depot in Rockland, MA. The manager, Lorraine Puleo, and two of her amazing paint department staff, showed me what kindness and generosity truly mean. After sharing with them what I do for work (I paint murals, mostly at schools), they decided to donate the paint that I was planning on buying. The Home Depot folks just loved the idea that I am making people smile and that I am helping Rockland become a more beautiful place. This came as such an unexpected surprise. I finally got a Home Depot card at the Quncy HD. As we are going through some challenging financial times, the 10% off last weeks purchase and 5% off future with this new card sounds great. Today I shop at the Rockport HD. After the cashier and unwrapped each garden pot to be purchased for scanning, the line at the only-one-register-open garden center grew. When I asked where my 5% savings was before signing, she informed me that I had to ask for it, What??? I said, yes, I'd like that - that is why I got the card. She then informed that she'd have to start over and re-scan everything again. I was put in position to feel bad. With a long line behind me, having her re-scan everything. I didn't like that feeling. It was not my doings. The lack of registers, and the bad business practice of giving rightful 5% discounts only if asked, was all HD doings. I suggested that in the future, she should ask her clients if they want to ask for their rightful 5% discount to solve one of today's problems. read more

I went to this Home Depot to buy these tips that some people use on the bottom of their crutches, except I use them for the bottom of my monopods (Think photography if you don't know what a monopod is). Not only did they have the size(s) I need but I was able to get tips for all four of my monopods. 4 or 5 years ago all the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowe's had these same with some other hardware stores now just home depot has them. I should add the employee who's name I can't remember went out of his way to help me find the items I needed. I would most DEFINITELY go back to this store to get what I need. read more

Extremely disappointed by the extended warrenty that we purchased for our cub cadet lawn mower. The contracted company took a week to get the mower, and has had it for 3 weeks. They either won't return calls or they lie and say they are working on it. I would have thought that the The Home Depot would have chosen a better company to service their equipment. So today I found out just how far Home Depot's "Customer service" will take you. I am moving out of my apartment today, and had already scheduled a U-Haul. Unfortunately U-Haul is trash, and screwed up my reservation. I made it for the Weymouth Location, but when I went to pick it up they said it was for FALL RIVER? Anyways, on to Home Depot... Due to the U-Haul situation, I frantically called every Truck rental location in my area until finally the Norwell Home Depot said they had a truck for me. Luckily this location was about 1 minute from my job. After I was told to bring my license with me, I had a co-worker drop me off. (I didn't take my own car because I would need to bring the truck back, naturally). I waited in line and spoke to a young woman who I had spoken to over the phone and she asked me for my license copy. I handed her my license, and then she asked me for my registration. Obviously I was upset I wasn't told this part over the phone, but I remained calm and polite, and called my coworker while I was at the customer service desk and asked him to bring me my registration. I informed the young woman I would be 2 minutes, as I worked across the street. She said ok and I went to meet my co-worker outside. It took me maybe 2 minutes and 30 seconds from leaving the customer service desk, to getting back to another customer service desk with my registration. At this time I tried to rent the truck again but was told it was CURRENTLY being rented by the people next to me in the other line. I was furious, but that's not even the worst part. Even if I take into consideration it's first-come-first-serve, and I had to step outside to get my registration... As I am sitting there, they tell the other customer the same thing, and HE had to go outside and get his registration as well. But instead of giving me the option to rent the last truck, they WAITED for this guy to come back with his registration and rented it to him, directly in my face. I have worked in customer service all of my life. If I were to have EVER treated someone with that much disregard, I would have been fired on the spot. None the less, now I have no truck, and am forced to find a way to get my stuff out of my apartment and into storage before midnight tonight without any mode of transportation for my belongings. At this point, not only was I not getting the truck, but I was STUCK at home depot due to being dropped off. My co-worker, now busy at work, could not pick me up, and I almost lost my job for this "extended" lunch break. So, Thanks Home Depot! Your slogan shouldn't be "Do it right, for less".. It should be, simply, "Do less". If I could give negative 100 stars for this experience, I would. read more

First off let me just say that in my 49 years on this planet, I've never seen a better shining example of ineptitude than what was exhibited by these fine folks. After purchasing a washer/dryer ensemble and agreeing on a delivery/ installation date, my nightmare started. My delivery was set up for Tue 1-30. I was told that they would deliver, connect and haul away my old appliances as I paid for these services. To my horror, I was told you the delivery people that it's a 3rd party that installs/hauls away the old appliances and they should have called you to lock down an installation date and window. This was never conveyed to me by the salesperson (Ken). So now I get a date of February 6th (1 week after my scheduled delivery date). And it gets better.... I spoke to the company that does the installation and they say they can fit me in on 1-31 between 12-4. So around 1:00pm I call the install people (Sycamore Plumbing) and ask what's up. They tell me that their installers will be there between 2:30 and 3:00 and that they would call me 30 minutes prior. Then, while right across the street at my neighbors house I get a call from the installers (1:07pm) that they are at my residence. I look out the window and there is nobody parked at my residence. I then get s call back from the installer stating that they waited at my residence for 15 minutes and are leaving to their next appointment. This is total BS! My next call was to Home Depot telling them to come pick their washer/dryer today or it's going out into the street. This is an absolute study in "how not to do business". I love the location of this Home Depot. They have everything I need and I'm back on the highway to my next job. It's my favorite location.

I do not have one good thing to say about this location. Customer Service is terrible, the do not call back when they say they will and do their best to ignore you. We received a french door (took 6 weeks instead of the 2 they told us) and it was totally damaged. They denied it was damaged even thought the frame was totally bent and there were actually leaves in the box when we opened it. Then they said they would order parts but we knew the frame was too bent and asked for a door. They continued to ignore us even after taking $2400 for the door. We originally ordered on May 20th and it is now Aug 1st . No door and a hole in the side of our house. The guy refused to help us out...no managers communicated with each other. We just cancelled the order and I am reporting to the BBB and Attorney General. In the past I have gone to buy other major appliances. They do not have any inventory and I asked if they wanted to order for me to get the credit. They actually told me no and to go order myself online at home.
