I drove through parking Lot this morning looking for a spot to park and there must've been 15 different day laborers standing around their trucks taking up parking spots in the parking lot. I called the store looking for the store manager and was on hold for 20 minutes and then once connected to the manager he told me that they don't know in the parking lot so somebody needs to figure out how to get these day laborers out of the parking lot so customers that are actually coming to buy products have a place to park Nothing is changed all the day laborers are still around there and even the employees park close to the building and take up space is that customers could use instead of parking the furthest spots away from the building I special ordered two cabinets on May 1 and they came in when they promised on time they called me I went to go pick up and discovered a hole punched through the side of one of the cabinets with a forklift it was plainly visible to all but no one bothered to tell me about it until I was starting to load the cabinets out of the store When I noticed it and brought it to the managers attention and they could not explain why no one mentioned it to me or that noted when they received it it was damaged or if it was done in store place is a total joke read more

Every time I go to this Home Depot my dad and i get bad customer service. Everyone that works there aren't bad, but I there are so many condescending people that work there. read more

POOR SERVICE WITH A SMILE Our first impression was how nice the sales reps were.....then it all fell apart....not once but TWICE! 1) Requested an estimate for custom blind system...they helped us chose materials in the store... but no one called us back to set up an onsite appointment...and what's worse they had no record of us selecting materials when we called back several times. We actually had to go back to the store and start the whole process over again! WASTED OVER 5 HOURS OF OUR TIME AND SEVERAL WEEKS OF DELAY IN GETTING THE INSTALL DONE. We were dumb enuf to think this was a one-timer...it wasn't :-( 2) Went into the store to chose a new shower stall and get a onsite estimate. Same nice song and they never followed up...after numerous calls -no one had a record of our visit- AGAIN! THIS TIME WE'RE GOING TO DO BUSINESS SOMEPLACE ELSE :-) :-) LESSON LEARNED: Home Depot is good for contractors and do-it-yourselfers and is fine for average unhandy person such as us that need questions answered from a smiley sales person....but stop there....THEY HAVE LOUSY SERVICE WHEN IT COMES TO CONTRACTOR/HANDI-PERSON SERVICES as those people are sub-contracted not employees of HOME DEPOT. They should stop offering this "service". It makes for pissed off customers and no one wins. BOTTOM LINE: if you can't do it yourself- forget about it! read more

Do not buy appliances from here! They will take your money and not deliver! After having my dryer break, I went to Home Depot to replace it. Everything in store went great and we were out in a breeze. The delivery was scheduled for 5 days after purchase. This was 3 weeks ago. The day before the scheduled delivery, they called to say our delivery had been "mixed up" and pushed the delivery out another 4 days. Ok, not the end of the world. On the scheduled day of the new delivery, 9 days after the purchase, I called Home Depot as I had not heard anything. Again, they said our delivery had been mixed up and pushed the delivery out to 2.5 weeks after purchase. Frustrated, I accepted this as part of dealing with a good price. On the 3rd scheduled delivery date. The delivery crew came, stated they wouldn't deliver the appliance, and moved my old dryer into the middle of room it is in, preventing me from being able to access the room. After calling Home Depot they have offered no resolution to this problem. I have been without a dryer for over 3 weeks with no end in sight. Take your money elsewhere if you want to have appliances actually delivered to your home. read more

This is unfortunately the worst Home Depot location I've ever visited. Here's an example of their service: Went in to buy 10 lengths of chain. When I pick the chain I want I notice a sign that says 'chain cutter broken '. Now me as a businessman I think ' We at Home Depot sell chain cutters. Take care of the customer and don't miss a sale." But noooo... I get an assistant manager. I explain and volunteer that we might go get a chain cutter from tools. He says 'Great' until he finds out that I don't want to pay for it and I want him to cut the chain Then he says 'Can't do that.' So I ask for his manager and we discuss it. I said I'll buy the chain cutter and return it. He says 'Can't do that.' I'm outta there. Go to Ace - done . Trust me, I made my final visit for something else today. Just a bad. Skip this place. This place earns its rating. The Contractor area is like walking through a mine field. One aisle was completely blocked with metal stakes sticking out into the aisle while most of the aisle was blocked with precariously stacked ladders. When we asked for help with a particular project, the 'expert' could only suggest which aisle to look. Home depots are only as good as their general managers who set the culture for service and empowered employees. Clearly the general manager at this location had some work to do. read more

Horrible. You spend close to 200$ and can't even get guidance or support from the staff. You have employees that don't know anything about their post or what they sell, you get a "sorry I'm just here to scan the items and charge prices". Bought close to $200 worth of garden items, and employees can't even help with guidance. Embarrassing Home Depot, you are charging ridiculous prices for a service you can't even provide. The staff were incompetent when I asked basic questions about products and locations. It took 20 minutes to check out because one product did not have a price sticker on it. As I waited I asked several times for them to call a manager who showed up 20 minutes after the initial call. When the manager did show up they had a smug attitude almost as if they intentionally made me wait. Very strange behavior. I'll never go back to this store unless I have to. read more

Ouch. This home Depot location has gone down the toilet. The staff just check their phones when you ask a question, the same website you could check yourself, so they're pretty unnecessary as employees. Stopping in for one quick little tub of spackle just turned into half an hour of watching employees bicker - the aisle was blocked by a guy stocking inventory on a lift who got rude at me and the other employee for engaging him. The only reason I'm writing this here is because when I tried to speak to an employee about the difficulty, they just stared away into space and repeated 'have a nice day'; literally wouldn't make eye contact or verbal communication. It was sad, I was embarrassed. The person was obviously in the wrong job position, untrained and ineptly managed. The one single competent employee I encountered was looking for his coworkers, who were absent from their posts. The only reason this business gets any rating at all is that there is inventory, and you can take it to the self-checkout and obtain a product. But the management and staff here should be ashamed. There's just nothing left that looks professional at all. Used to be a nice place. Now a guy can't get spackle here. read more

This location has NO garden center! I was looking for a particular plant only carried by Home Depot, that I had bought at the Salinas store 2 weeks ago. The Salinas store doesn't have anymore so I came to Seaside hoping they had it. They don't. They don't have a garden center and there is nothing on the HD website that mentions this. My last trip to the Home Depot inspired me to write a review about it. They had one register open inside with a huge line, and there was a huge line for the self checkout. I went outside to the garden section where they had two open registers. Whenever you need help finding something, you can't find an employee, and when you do, they can't find it either. This is why when you see someone helping a customer, there are two more employees helping the first employee and that's why you can't find one in the first place. The only guy in there that seems helpful is the Hilti rep who doesn't even work for Home Depot but always seems to be helping the frustrated customers even with the non Hilti products. I like to see when a business hires the mentally challenged, but they shouldn't hire them exclusively. read more

I went into HD to get information on getting a small shower (33"x35") relined. It took half an hour to finally find the right person to tell me that they can't help me, I needed to go call the people on the website. I left my info with a nice operator, and got a call back from a contractor the next day. Despite having been very specific that I wanted a shower lined, the company kept trying to sell me a complete shower reinstallation. They were very high pressure sales, spoke exceedingly poorly about relining a shower, and told me that it cost just as much as installing a new shower. After talking to her, I felt like I needed a shower, which I couldn't do because my shower is inoperable!! HD needs to take more care of which companies they use as contractors, and ensure that their name is not attached to sleazy organizations that try to scalp their customers. read more

Jamie in Kitchen Design is Great! She understands design principles as well as manufacturing and install requirements. She quickly captured our vision for a remodel and, at each step, ensured our ideas were being realized. She is a great listener. She is also patient, quick, and has an incredible eye for detail. With her expertise, we created a stunning living space. I would give Jamie SIX stars! The Service Desk, on the other hand, is plagued by slow computers, confusing pick-up procedures, and a lack of cross-communication. Every time I dealt with a special order, it took at least two hours in house to process my request. The response most often offered was "I don't know" or "I don't know why this isn't working." I give Customer Service ONE star. - I will add, however, that the service personnel are admirably patient with their long, frustrating processes and their slow, archaic computers. read more

July 26th-Early Evening- I need more Rustic 12x12 pavestones 1) Check online: Salinas = 0 Seaside = 199 Watsonville = 1,089 2) Call Seaside: Garden area guy assures me that they are in stock. July 27th-8:15 am arrive at Seaside 1) Check for the pavers in the aisle. NONE. 2) Ask clerk in garden section; she confirms that there are 199, but there may not be because clerks often enter in incorrect SKU number (?) 3) Clerk informs me, after phone call, that Watsonville has plenty. July 27th-10:23 am arrive at Watsonville (LOVE that single lane road!) 1) I locate the aisle and section where there used to be Rustic pavestones. 2) Ask clerk at garden area; she sends three staff to look for them. 3) The 3 staff return promptly and inform me that there are none in the aisle. Oh GOODY! So I wasn't hallucinating. 4) I explain the phone call from the Seaside clerk. They do not understand. Scratch heads. Woman in orange apron says she has to go water plants. Old man in orange apron tells me to go to customer service. July 27th-10:50 am arrive at Customer Service area and wait. Finally a young woman assists. 1) She finds the product on the computer and then lets me know that there may not be due to staff entering incorrect SKU number. Groundhog walks by and smirks. Kidding!...maybe. 2) Customer service clerk calls other stores. She informs me that Seaside has over 199 of them. My ears begin to buzz and I can SWEAR I see Bill Murray saunter by in an orange apron. 3) I insist that the Customer Service lady have the Seaside person to get a visual on the Rustic pavestones and provide an ACTUAL location. 4) I receive the following: They are NOT in the aisle due to there being a shortage of space. They are in the back, in the aisle, next to the pallet of sierra stacking tiles. July 27th pm - Lunch July 27th-1:30 pm return to Seaside Home Depot 1) I walk into the garden area clutching the notes and map of Rustic pavestones. 2) Clerk listens, looks on the computer and says that they do not have any because staff have been entering the wrong SKU number...grrrrr... 3) I patiently explain where the Rustic pavestones are located and the young man shakes his head and insists that due to staff entering the wrong... 4) I see red...I mean ORANGE...and I beat a path to the Customer Service. 5) I explain to the young lady the entire situation. She does me the incredible favor of NOT looking on the computer and NOT telling me about incorrect SKU number. Instead she utters these magic words..."Please take a seat, I am going to go find them for you." July 27th-2:05 pm 1) The customer service young lady reappears triumphantly, if somewhat disheveled, with a loaded cart of Rustic pavestones and two orange-aproned minions in tow. 2) She oversees the loading and stacking into my truck. She tells me her name and tells me to let her know if she can "be of any more help." 3) I fall over in a dead faint...shocked. Kidding, again! NEVER AGAIN. I work for an Estate Managment company in carmel. Well I have to say Home Depot is truly disappointing. We had a delivery time set, for a fridge delivery, from 10am-2pm. Well the morning of the delivery at 8 am I got a call that the delivery would be in 30 Minutes. Thats 1 1/2 hours before our set delivery time. The property in question is 30 minutes from my residence, so i ran out of the house without taking a shower to meet them. Well while sitting on site for an hour I called Home Depot, they informed me that the 10-2 appointment time was an error and that it was in fact scheduled for an earlier drop off time. Well back to my original complaint above. They called at 8 and said they would be on site by 8:30... They didn't show up until 12!!! Thats 3 and a half hours after they said they would be there. They should have never called to change the time and I would have been on site before them, DRESSED AND PRESENTABLE & WITH A FULL STOMACH !!! Words of advice, they are disorganized and have horrible customer service. read more

I have been a long time customer of Home Depot, but this particular location is a complete disappointment. They fail to deliver my large online order 3 times and never call to notify me of the schedule change. Each of the no show, when I call in, I would get the, oh, it's scheduled for delivery on this date and that due to a glitch in the system and the truck has no capacity. Terrible customer service. A couple of months ago, I purchased about $900 in fencing supplies for my contractor to pickup the next day. I was re-assured that the supplies would be bundled together and ready for the contractor to pickup. When my contractor tried to pickup the supplies, the supplies were not bundled AND he had to wait for over an hour for customer service to get the supplies together. Today, I went into Home Depot and got the attitude from customer service as if they couldn't be bothered with me. I can't stand shopping at Home Depot, and I wish I had another choice (with satisfactory to good customer service!). read more

The worst, I repeat, WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I asked a young lady for assistance with window blinds. She loudly yelled "Just a minute", frantically answering an email on her computer. When she finished she asked what I wanted without looking up. I asked for assistance with window blinds, whereupon she informed me that the man had just went around the corner. Huh? I asked if she could page him, since I wasn't about to hunt him down in that huge store. She angrily picked up the phone and yelled into it. I'm not sure anyone understood what she was shrieking. I have been happy with Home Depot, up until now. I just bought a new washing machine with the agreement that they would deliver it and install it and take the old one away. When the two young guys came, I showed them the washer, they said they were not going to install the new washer. I said that was the sale agreement. They tried to get me to sign for the new washer, I said no. I told them to take their new washing machine and to get the hell off my property. I was unhappy. When I called to get my money back the employee said the delivery service is really bad. read more

Not once was I asked if I could be helped. Patricia told me at the checkout if I was a veteran and I said yes she said if I have my Military ID I could save %10. Horrible customer service in paint department! Not very helpful at all! Questions about paint color answered from behind the counter with short responses. They were not willing to talk with you regarding what paint is available or not! Limited and depleted supply of spray paint available. Will go to Lowes 25 miles away next time. read more

I like the Home Despot. Lots of great stuff, and, if you try, you can find lots of tools and supplies made in America. Fancy that! Not everything is made-in-China c®@p! Unlike other reviewers, I have actually had good experienceS (yes, multiple occasions) getting help from the staff. The best part is that the lumber guy (for instance), knows he doesn't know anything about appliances, and, instead of trying to help and failing miserably, will get you an appliance guy to help you. I also got a piece of their scrap lumber for free--nice! They have something for every home- or yard-related project. read more

I love HD. I can always find stuff through the app. Seaside Home Depot is great. I worked there while in college and was able to make friends and learn new things. I personally think people there are very friendly with the exception of some. Home Depot has a great business model and a good corporate culture in taking care of it's customers. This particular Home Depot is no exception. I would also add, that in recent years, their staffing levels have improved and many of their employees are quite knowledgeable about Fix-it projects in general...and all of them seem to know where everything in the store is located...which is very handy! Also, not that you need to know this, but...I'm someone who goes barefoot everywhere I can...and this place consistently allows me to shop barefoot! (FYI, it's legal...no laws or health issues...glad this particular Home Depot seems to know that.) read more

I love going here because the giant shelves make me feel like a small boy. You would think that if there is any place where baby boomer hippie trash would not be, it would be here in the good ole' Home Depot where people come to buy things to use their hands and work. Well there I was giving the plastic drop clothes the old once over, millage, square footage, you know the drill. When I feel it, that familiar burn on the back of the neck and of course I turn and there is a balding, be speckled, stink eyeing hippie. I was stunned, but emboldened by my surroundings. As this old fart stood and gave me the silent stink eye, as if I should be able to read his mind and scamper away, I stood my ground. I mean he stood there for heavens knows how long in silence because obviously my existence made him speechless. The thought that another human being would occupy the space between an entitled trust fund hippie boomer and what they want is just outrageous. How dare me! So I took the opportunity to say, "hey bud you got a voice, use it. Let me know you are there." Went here to buy appliances, big mistake, especially if you want Home Depot to install them. The person on the floor was pretty much clueless about the various aspects of the different dishwashers, and actually told me it was better to do this online. I ultimately bought a dishwasher, waited for the delivery guys to show up to install the dishwasher, which costs an extra $99, plus an installation kit $20 with the connecting fittings. But then after cleaning the dishwasher out and under the sink for easy installation, told I needed a plumber to change one of the connections. These guys do not know how to screw on a connection! These are not professionals, but guys who want to come in and unwrap the appliance and dump it. On a previous purchase from this store, a dryer and washer with sensors that determine how much water, time, they could not figure out how to get it in the door--it had to be lifted in front of a sink in the space, and they needed me to explain that. Then, I found out after several visits by technicians for frequent repairs, that the machines were installed incorrectly, which is why the sensors on these expensive machines have never worked correctly. I did not think a dishwasher was a big deal to install, but decided to cancel the order, when the solution suggested was to first call a plumber to change the fitting, then have this guy back to screw the hose to it. No thanks. I wish Lowes were closer--the merchandise is higher quality, and the service is better all around. This place is only useful if you know what you need and can use the self-service check out. read more

Rarely do I write reviews. But unless you are a contractor or have a big truck, never buy an appliance from them. It took their delivery service 8 tries to deliver my new refrigerator. At each attempt they were surely and unprofessional and even attempted to force me to take an obviously damaged item. The sad thing is that the salesteam at Home Depot know about the poor quality of the delivery service and despite having received numerous complaints have failed to remedy the situation.
