Went into home depot for 2 items. I am a licensed contractor who regularly uses home depot, this is by far the worst branch. Carol was grumpy and very rude to me and my husband for asking to unlock a shelf for us and argued with us that there were the same product in a closer area but we had already looked and the one we wanted wasn't even in the closer shelf. After finally negotiating with Carol to purchase an item I go to the shelf check out where they do not know how to use their words. I am actually really bummed out. This was my favorite HD location. Everyone is beyond helpful and really nice when you walk around the store. What I am having issues with is the delivery service. I normally pick up my items but since my truck broke down I currently can't pick up. I scheduled a delivery, I spoke with a rep who called me 4 times to confirm my items and to assure me that they will be delivered by Friday or Saturday morning. My items never arrived :( and when I called to see what happened the rep said there was no notes for delivery so I scheduled another delivery on which my items were supposed to arrive on Monday, and guess what, my items never arrived on Monday. It is now Wednesday and guess what, my items were just delivered. Can you please come up with an order update on the website ? It's better than speaking with a rep, sometimes the phones rings for 5 minutes, and the reps never call back with an update... My husband and I come to Home Depot for everything for our house. We've bought blinds, plants, soil, bug spray, paint, paint brushes, screws, tools, patio heat lamp, fire pit, smoke detectors, etc. Home Depot's prices are better than Lowe's. I like this location because it's close to our house and there's always plenty of parking. It's also close to a lot of other stores and places to eat. (Jersey Mike's, Greek, Hawaiian, Chick-Fil-A etc.). The reason I'm knocking off Stars is for the customer service. We've literally been here close to 20 times now. EVERYTIME, we come here and have a question, there are two scenarios. Either 1) we don't find anybody or 2) we find someone and they are clueless. We had an issue with our sink one time, and the guy we found had no idea what my husband was looking for. We ended up at ACE hardware. Another time, one of the guys there sold us the wrong part for our sink after we brought in a sample and we had to return it. The most recent time, we needed to cut 2 inches off for the blinds we were buying and there was nobody around. The lady that ended up helping didn't really know how to use the saw and ruined a pair of blinds that she was cutting for the people ahead of us. She said that she's normally a "kitchen designer" and they are short staffed. So my advice would be to know exactly what you are looking for before you come here. It won't be guaranteed that someone working will be an expert in that area. A majority of the time, they seem rushed or too busy. The only good experience we've had regarding customer service at this particular location was in the Paint department and Garden department. Walked in this afternoon with my wife and son and not once was I greeted, assisted, or provided any degree of customer service at all... at first I thought, hmm, maybe these folks are just doing there best to socially distance. I could appreciate that. Personally, I don't care to be bombarded while I shop anyways. But then I noticed other customers receiving service except for myself and my family. Maybe it was just poor timing on my end or maybe I just wasn't approachable. Hopefully my race was not a factor here. I ultimately shrugged the feelings of poor service and possible racial prejudice off and went about my shopping and expected a safe experience for my family and I. But NO. I observed several customers shopping throughout the store with no nose and mouth covering. I get it, folks can be difficult and you can't always control customers. Glasses fog up, people have health conditions, bad breath, blah, blah, etc. I politely reported the situation to a female employee near the registers and didn't see any response from the staff. Oh, well. at this point, I'm just thinking to my self... "maybe I just won't come back here". The folks in the area seem to not have any regard for public safety. I get it... times are rough and you can't always observe every customer or attend to every instance of some jerk refusing to follow local mandates relating to the global pandemic. But ... here's what really sealed the "no more Upland Home Depot" stance for me... I also observed several employees going about there normal work routines without their nose and mouth coverings. Not a care in the world. Absolutely terrible management and a complete disregard for the safety of customers and fellow personnel alike. Oh, I nearly forgot... an employee did speak to me once... as I was paying. A delightful conversation. The one customer service based interaction I had in my 45-60 minutes at this store was to be asked if I wanted to apply for a credit card to get "x" dollars off my purchase. Remarkable experience in the most terrible of ways. I can say that my family and I will do the absolute most to avoid this Home Depot location. I still cannot even wrap my mind around how rude and unprofessional the "manager" Kathy was to me this morning. I came in with a long list of items that were advertised as part of a Black Friday sale that started today. One item in particular was an artificial Christmas tree that is usually $199 on sale for $79. I found the tree right away, but the price was still marked at $199. I asked an associate passing by (Mark) who was very helpful and scanned the item and it was still $199 in the system. Another associate showed me a different area with the same trees and the correct price advertised on a big sign. I grabbed the tree and a ladder that was on sale and headed to the checkout knowing that I'd have to abandon the rest of my list because needing to get every item on my list price adjusted is unrealistic. At checkout I was passed by the manager Kathy, shoulder length brown hair, glasses I very nicely explained my situation with the tree and she price checked it and I could tell right away she was reluctant to believe me. She sharply said "you need to show me" so we walked back to the other side of the store where I showed her(see photo). She tugged at the sign, then told the associate stocking items to remove it immediately. She told me that they were all "mis-marked". I explained that the Home Depot app was advertising it at the same price and tried to show her a screen shot that I took on my phone, she said in a very condescending tone, " it's wrong, you're the only one getting this price." We walk back across the store and I mentioned to her that the ladder on my cart was on sale as well for $39.88. She looked at the paper handwritten sign outside and barked "no. It's $69.99" I offered to show her yet another screenshot on my phone and said "your not getting it and cheaper, it's $69.99" I told her that it was ridiculous when I have proof of the sale price that starts today and she still said disagreed. When I said I'd just let corporate deal with it, she had the nerve to say to me " I don't know what the big deal is, your getting your tree" wow, really Kathy? You don't know what the big deal is? The big deal is your horrible attitude! The cashier Cindy who is as just as sweet as can be went ahead and scanned the ladder anyway just to check and sure enough, it rang up at $39.88. Kathy then has the audacity to tell me " there, you can have it for that price". I said "thank you" in a very sarcastic tone because I'm absolutely livid at this point and Kathy got upset and said "EXCUSE ME?" I repeated that I said thank you and she told me she thought I said "F you"! I don't know if she was looking to argue with me, on a power trip, or just having a bad day. But at this point I'm done. I paid and walked out the door by the contractor parking area as she stood two feet away from me and didn't even bother to say a single word to me as I passed. I am a general contractor and spend tens of thousands of dollars a year with Home Depot. I have never had anything but positive experiences with associates in every department at this location. I come to this store multiple time a week and still cannot believe how I was treated today. Kathy, you need a major attitude adjustment if you're going to make it in this company. So, let's keep this limited to professionalism and customer service. If you are looking for that, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a very unprofessional store manager, you've found your place. Her name is Noemi C. and she told us she was the store manager so I'm accepting that to be true. If you're looking for employees who automatically assume you're not being honest, maybe tainted by the world of retail, you've found your place. My husband, who went in for a specific paint color we found on the website, showed them the text I sent him with the color and came home with a different color. He only went for what I showed him so he wasn't sure before he left the store that it was the color I wanted. It was not. We went back together the NEXT day so I can be sure we get the correct color and went straight to customer service. Told the young man what happened and he said "we can only exchange or fix" (his exact words). Went to paint department and proceeded to be harassed by the paint employee about why we didn't check the paint before we left and "This is what you asked for. We don't exchange paint." Explained what happened again and told her customer service told us we can "exchange or fix". She apparently didn't believe us so she stomped away and disappeared for a while only to come back and provide us the color we wanted. My husband left the old can there and took the new can and we proceeded to go check out at Pro Desk (because we are also construction professionals who go to Home Depot regularly) to purchase the other item we had (stain for our doors). The cashier saw the can of paint and we explained that it was an exchange so that she would not charge us. Store manager (didn't know who she was at that point) approaches and proceeds to harass us about that paint and "who said we would exchange it?" Explained again what happened and she repeats "we don't exchange paint". Told her what customer service told us and she said "you should have taken it back to customer service and not left it there" and, again "we don't exchange paint." My husband gestured toward customer service explaining again that we went there first and that's what we were told to do. She takes the paint and follows us to customer service, again not believing we were told this and desperate to prove us wrong. When we were proven to be telling the truth she became further annoyed and started on a rant of "I will make an exception this time but...we don't exchange paint." I tried to ask her what the issue was since she was being so unprofessional and loud and treating us like thieves. She refused to look at me and kept repeating that she'd make an exception, again never looking at me and talking to her employees as though we weren't there. She then spits out to my husband "you also came in yesterday and exchanged 5 gallons of mixed paint..." I looked at my husband because I knew he was there yesterday only to buy me the paint I wanted and had no paint to exchange so I was confused. I asked her to repeat that. She never looked at me and again continued talking as though I didn't exist. I repeated my question then asked her to prove to me that my husband returned said paint. Ignored me. Followed her and continued to ask several times and she acted as if I wasn't there, never acknowledging me or my question. I then asked for the store manager and she advised us she is the manager. Asked for her name and she provided it then asked for the district manager's name. She ignored me and the other employee I asked said "we don't provide that." We got on our way and I called Home Depot corporate office and gave them the full rundown. They gave me a case number and assured me this would get to the district manager and other levels of management. I will be calling back to ask if it has made it to them. Bottom line: if you're looking to be treated professionally and with any modicum of respect, this isn't your store. Go elsewhere. Not all Home Depots are like this. There are 2 others a little further away but worth the drive if you'd like to be treated fairly and still shop at Home Depot. Oh, and they "don't exchange paint." read more

We ordered a over 3k quartz counter for our bathroom. They fabricated the piece and came on the day to install about two months ago. All seemed ok until yesterday when one of the two sinks they set fell down from the opening. Upon closer inspection, it was obvious they did a half ass job installing both sinks. They failed to brace the sinks and the adhesive was not applied properly. Due to the fact the vanity was a custom build, the sink cannot be removed without damaging the vanity. We want to replace the sink they ruined but can't. Very poor work on the part of the installer so we won't be using Home Depot ever again. read more

Horrible customer service For the second time I had to leave the North Upland store without the product I needed to purchase. Cashier in the lumber department could not scan the product. She tried to find the product on her personal phone but of course wouldn't give her the sku number. She asked if I could go and get another one of the products. Unfortunately I don't walk well and told her I couldn't get another just to find out she couldn't scan it also. I told her to call someone in the department or customer service to get the product or sku number. She called for help several times but couldn't get anyone to answer her call. I didn't feel I should go to customer service for help and wait another 20 minutes. After 20 minutes with her getting flustered and the line behind me getting longer I decided this was going nowhere and I had to leave without the product I needed for an emergency repair. My leaving without the item was fine with the cashier as she wished me a nice day. I left and purchased the item from the Upland Lowe's. Although Lowe's is one mile further for me to go I will now no longer waste my time going to Home Depot. This Home depot needs to educate their cashiers better or update their computers at check out with more useful information for the cashiers. read more

Home Depot was one of my favorite DIY Stores. They changed their refund policy and won't give you store credit unless you can provide proof of purchase. A few months back I purchased an automatic nailer with a big box of 7200 fasteners. I had injured my back and decided not to perform the work. The nail gun still has a Home Depot label and their address from either the manufacturer or the wholesaler. Both items were never opened. They responded by refusing to take the items back which is within their new policy. I spent over 10K in their store last year alone. I won't purchase from them again.
