Thank goodness for the managers because the younger employees are borderline incompetent. This store needs better training, at least a basic course on tools and their names. For example, I would be expected to return the sample sand paper that came with an 18v sander simply because it is listed on the box as included. Common sense tells us that sand paper is wearable and it's unreasonable to expect to return worn sand paper that's 18 feet under a landfill mountain. Again, thankfully the managers are fully knowledgeable. I like this store because it is smaller and usually less crowded, but I'm starting to think that's not worth the headache brought by the young adults at the customer service counter. read more

What a disappointment today was. My wife and I went there at 5am to get some poinsettias at a special price of .99 cents. We could not get even 1 of them at that price. We'r ended up paying 4 dollars per poinsettia. My wife needed over thirty of them so it got a little pricey. They should have more of what they advertise. And not just a hook for people to come in. My favorite Home Depot because it is almost always well stocked and the customer service is great. I come here to get material for small projects or to get plants. My boyfriend likes coming here because he fixes stuff that breaks at our home. I would like to leave a 50 star review for the customer service at this Home Depot. I purchased a Traeger Renegade Pro grill from this location on 11/21/18. When I got home I did notice it was missing the temperature probes, and it also did have a dent on the back that I did not notice when originally picking it up. I contacted Chad Sotelo through email regarding my issue. I don't think I've ever received a quicker response from any store. He was very accommodating and apologetic for the issues , he even told me to use the grill since I had explained I was planning to use it for thanksgiving.... and he mentioned I would still be able to bring it back and exchange it for a brand new one, I was very surprised at this as a lot of stores I feel do not care about the customers concern if they have any issues with a product they purchase. Came today 11/23/18 to return the grill... Spoke with Debbie at the customer service desk she was very sweet, and also I was helped by Mat, who was very helpful. I went to Home Depot to purchase wood to make a flower bed. We waited over 30 minutes to get lumber cut. We spoke with at least 4 several associates while waiting and were told someone was going to come help in the lumber department. I went to Home Depot on July 2nd in need of better protection on my apartment front door to feel safer and fend off unwanted visitors. I met Jonathan who helped me find a door blocker for my front door; he mentioned that the Upland Police recommended these. Jonathan was very nice and very informative. He mentioned that he worked in the Paint Department for years and was transferred to the Hardware Department. Jonathan was patient and had excellent customer service skills. I like this location WAY better than the other store located on Mountain near the freeway. For starters, the parking lot here is cleaner and less cluttered, and most importantly, I don't feel like I'm participating in a demolition derby (I realize this reference dates me a little bit) as I navigate both in an out of the parking lot. If I could give this business a zero, that's what it would receive. This Home Depot, like most others, is highly incompetent and definitely not customer focused. It all began when we went in to buy a new bathroom setup, shower and toilet. We arrived at 2pm and asked to have the items pulled off the shelf. The employee said it would take a few hours to retrieve the larger items, despite them being high oh the shelf. A bit confusing, but ok, they have a bizarre policy so we made the purchase and left. We returned at 7:00 to load the items on our truck. Nope! The guy who retrieves the item just clocked out. Forget about the fact they had five hours to pull product, he just decided to go and stuff his face. Ok, so we asked who else can help us. That was the wrong question. Talk about total confusion! They were confused and disoriented and could not accomplish the simple task. It took them 1 hour and half to get the boxes out the door. And let's not get started on the damaged boxes and the glass shower door hanging out if it's own torn box. We decided to have them deliver it so they are responsible if it breaks. Another $80 on top of the few thousand already spent. Oh, and the unprofessional manager, Mikey, pretty much was incompetent and useless. He passed by my elderly mom, who was buying the products, several times as she tried to flag him down. Finally when she asked for help, his response was, "I don't understand you." The truth is, I don't understand how Home Depot can operate like a store in a developing country within the USA and still be in business. I called superior garage and they said I had to call Chamberlain. I called home depot they said the same thing . That I need to troubleshoot! I said I'm going to pay someone to remove it and return it. Also, the installer took the box! I called a local repair shop they charge $ 79.00 for an estimate. I went in yesterday to get some hardware for my grandson's broken special-needs stroller. Employee named Angel was excellent! It was very time consuming to find the nuts and bolts, but he was on it to the very end! Someone that I think was his supervisor came to help and it was still a challenge, however, I left with exactly what I needed and his stroller is back up and running! I dont expect to be "knocked off my socks" when it comes to home improvement stores, but I must say that this Home Depot is one of the nicer ones that I have visited. The store is kept clean, organized and I seem to find things better here and the wait time for assistance is better at this one versus the South Upland location. Another thing I have noticed, is that this Home Depot seems better stocked. Also a plus is that the store allows well mannered, leashed dogs to shop with you. Customer service really sucks here I bought the wrong $300 tool for my husband on xmas with $286 on my credit card and $13 was a store credit I had remaining from a previous return. Just a couple days after my purchase with receipt in hand they denied my return. The clerk said to call a number ... So irritated with big corp companies!! Do not shop here if you can help it. I understand they need to control fraud but don't make it hard for paying patrons that work hard for their money! Update: After calling the number the next day and being on hold for 35 minutes to speak with someone they told me what I already knew, I was denied because I used my store credit, and they couldn't do anything for me but send me a report. Even though the clerk Dana told me a manager could not help me, I was at a loss so I decided to call the store and speak with a manager. I spoke with someone who actually listened and said that they would work with us on a return. Finally!! I shouldn't have had to go through this frustration but I was happy to get someone to help. This review is for my last visit. The only reason I come to Home Depot instead of Lowes is because it's 2 min from my house. The employees at Lowes are a lot more helpful. It seems like I'm here every week buying something and it's very hard to get someone to help me. This last trip I was in lumber. I was putting the finishing touches on a sauna we have been building. It took a good 30 min for someone to come and cut some wood for us. When the guy finally did arrive by the saw he looked very upset. Yesterday, I went to this Home Depot to purchase screw-in hooks to affix to my eaves for Christmas lights. Home Depot was packed with customers and the screw-in hook display in hardware was empty. I thought for sure they were out of stock and thought I should not have procrastinated on purchasing the hooks until the day after thanksgiving. Home Depot employee Aaron saw my disappointment and researched the product. Aaron determined there were five packages in a box, well above the display. Aaron accessed a ladder, pulled the box down and gave me product I came for, which saved me a trip to Lowes! Can't say enough about Aaron! Excellent customer service! Thanks Aaron! read more

We are in the middle of a Pandemic!!!! I was overwhelmed and concerned by how crowded this store was. There were lots of people in the isles and in lines with baskets full of "what appeared to be non-essential items" like geraniums, concrete, paint, flooring, manure etc...Furthermore, there were customers coughing and children roaming unattended. I felt concerned for myself but was especially concerned for the Home Depot associates who have to work under these conditions. The crowds reminded me of Black Friday! In light of the current health risk, I am hopeful Home Depot and the local government will take additional measures to help stop the spread of covid19 to employees and the general public. read more

This morning myself and a family member rented a sander for my floor and a vacuum. Initially, rented for four (4) hours, however, the project took longer. I reach out to Home Depot North Upland location and extended the rental. I was told to return the equipment by 8p. Upon arriving at 7p, the rental office was locked so I rang the bell. I was greeted by an employee, D (choose not to use full name) she stated , "this department is closed and I must take the equipment to customer service,"after sharing with her what I was told on the phone, she still insisted that we carry the heavy equipment to Customer service. I realized she was assisting a couple inside of the rental department, I became a little frustrated. As we were carry the equipment, we were greeted by two (2) employees, Jessica and Karen that gladly said we will help you. Please go back to the rental department. We were relieved, since the equipment was very heavy. Jessica and Karen were very helpful, asking to help bring the equipment inside. After, the transaction took place, we decided to make a purchase, as we walked we ran into employee D. I questioned her about why she requested for us to go to CS, instead of her being accountable for her actions, she appeared to show no remorse, which in turn, made me more upset. Employee D reached out to her manager. At this moment I would like to apologize to employee D if she felt I was aggressive with my verbiage. I am also suggesting employee D would take this matter as a teaching experience, allowing her colleagues Jessica and Karen to be her example. This location is small! I would not make this my 'go-to' store for home needs. It is so small it only has two or so cash stands and maybe an additional two self check out lines. It is condensed and clean. The staff lacked the 'are you finding everything alright' approach that the other stores have. I did not like that about this store. It is smaller than all the other local stores and thus the floor plans are different. The stuff I needed was not where I would normally find it and this added time to how long I was wandering around. I did not visit the garden section although from a distance it looked nice. I will not be revisiting this location. read more

If I could give this Home Depot a negative rating I would do it in less than a split second. For you see, this is not your typical Home Depot! No, it is rather immense, pretty new, and stocked with the most brain-dead and aloof employees you could possibly round up from a hundred-mile radius. I don't know why I've come here the half or so dozen times I've visited before. I normally shop at Orchard Supply Hardware down off Vineyard and Foothill, but I guess this Home Depot is just a few minutes from home and is a quick stop off the 210, perfect for including as a stop on my way home from work. However, I've come to realize that the extra time it takes to get to OSH is quite worth it. The employees at this Home Depot don't know anything about anything, which is actually quite a feat in itself! Got a question about unclogging a drain? Might as well do online research, then come in. Need assistance with an item high on a shelf? Grab a ladder and reach for it yourself! Even if the employees see you climbing up and getting stuff on your own, a huge liability for the company should you fall and injure yourself, they'll just stare as if they've emerged from the break room high off a perfect cocktail of superglue and paint thinner. Need to complain to a manager? Good luck finding an employee who even knows who their manager is.
