I had the best experience with 2 employees Par and Raul. I am a woman so getting wood cut to build shelves is very helpful I also needed her help with my irrigation. Both if them are great workers, wonderful customer service qualities. One employee came over and was very rude Toward one Raul. It was a Way out of line moment especially with me standing right there. But Raul handled him very nicely and professional. My recent and on going experience with The Home Depot. My letter today to them. "To whom this obviously won't concern, Actually it really does not seem to concern anyone associated with this project. After setting the project up in December and were told it would be up to 3 months before the installation we comfortable with that because it was Home Depot doing it for us. The installation came and finally it was tomorrow. Late in the afternoon the day before we get a call that " the installer says they can not do the job" so we have cancelled your appointment and installation and we will refund your deposit. I was speechless. This was Feb22nd. After asking a couple questions of this person on the phone about why they told me the installer said that they would have to anchor it through my vinyl siding. And they could not guarantee the work. Well that did not sound right since my gutters are anchored to the side of my house the siding stops at the bottom of the siding. The person on the phone told me the installer submitted pictures and there was nothing they could do. If I need to talk to someone I had to talk to someone else, but they could send the picture to me for verification. That was Cassandra Kizzie. She said she would forward my request to Service Manager Joe and it would take 24 to 48 hours. Joe never contacted me and never forwarded the Photos. Next stop was to the Store front where we started. Weekend Manager was very polite and apologetic and promised me the manager would call me On Monday. Monday came and went no call. I stopped in after work and talked to Steve the Assistant manager on Februrary 27th. He was also very apologetic and said he would look into it for me and call me back. He also indicated that the computer said we now owed the balance and that did not set well since the services to date had been the runaround. Steve did call me back the next day, the only one who has actually followed through so far. He told me that he had calls out and as soon as he found out something he would call again. I am still waiting. I can only assume no one has called him back either. Earlier that day it sent this email to Cassandra Kizzie: I am still waiting as of today for a reply. I am patient that way. So I waited until the weekend to continue on my quest for an answer. I went back to the store and talked to Lawrence, I believe, the store manager. He aaid I should call a Mr Virgil Cabading. I did so on Monday the 5th of March. I explained to him my situation and the fact I stall had not received my deposit. I also explained how unprofessional I thought the whole situation has been and he said he would look into it and call me back the next day after reviewing it and let me know when I could get my deposit back. Yet again no one called back.......... To say I am now really mad would be an understatement. It is not only unprofessional it's is down right rude. To cancel a pre-approved job the night before no warning no discussion. OH! And still no dammed pictures. Tell the customer they can have their deposit back and then actually never call them back. March 7th I am very mad and I call the customer Support Center and speak to a very apologetic and very seemingly helpful lady named Thea. She said she under stood my concerns and would call someone. She apparently called Mr Cabading. She was told by Mr Cabading that "he would check on it and find out if the contract had been processed. That it would be ten days after that before we would get our deposit back and he would call and let us know that time frame" And....... You guessed it no call so far to date, no pictures to date and I am out of patience. I am demanding my deposit ASAP. Since no one at this company seems to care enough about customer service I doubt that this will happen. I will however, be very vocal on my next visit to the store. I will be doing a very public service announcement to make sure no one else is robbed of their deposits. Or, treated like I have been. Buyer Beware! Order online AT YOUR RISK! It is November 30th. We ordered a sink vanity top on August 8th. It has arrived three times broken and then put on back ordered without notification to us. Called the store and talked to a manager who really tried her best to fix things. Caroline was really kind. But after talking to someone at the Corporate level who does Customer Service for online orders, they all are at the mercy of the vendor who doesn't bother to use packaging or to make the box as an item breakable. The size of vanity sink we need is not available in-store. And no one has a solution to make certain we can finally get our order. No one at the store level let management know that a customer was having such a problem. And the online folks didn't notify us about the back order. This store has received 23 reviews and 16 were one star or would be less than one star if possible. This will be the 24th review and the 17th negative review. Both the store and HomeDepot.com are at fault. If you order online, be very careful and don't depend or look to the store level to follow thru to make sure you get your order. New dates are Dec 10th-13th so we will have to see if our order comes in one piece. In the meantime, we will looking elsewhere. And no, I don't believe Home Depot values its customers and my proof is the lack of follow up remarks on the other negative comments. They can clearly afford to lose customers. read more

The workers here were very helpful. Their attention to service was great with a polite and positive attitude. Every time I have a conversation with one them I feel as if I'm also receiving a free education on my current DIY project. On one occasion, I walked in here needing to swap my door locks and they broke down my options. I ended up buying 5 pairs of deadbolts and knobs. Since the particular brand I wanted only sold sets of 2 per package, they re-keyed one pair to match the keys. Re-keying didn't cost me anything because it was complementary. In addition to my in store experience, I've done some online shopping as well. I placed an order and received free shipping with a $45 or over purchase. Also, on another occasion I've ordered online and requested for an in store pickup. My order was processed within 2 hours and was ready for pickup. This Home Depot seem to hire knowledgeable workers which is great. These guys know their stuff pretty well. With my lack of experience and knowledge on home improvements, I walk in and out here with confidence. read more

Negative stars if I could!!! Home Depot sucks. Recently I tried to get carpet installed through them for one room, subcontracted through Romanoff Renovations - it was a terrible experience. I took a Friday off, disassembled the bed, and moved all the furniture. They called an hour after the beginning of the window they were supposed to show up and said a job took too long and they wouldn't be able to come that day and they would be there by 1000, the following day. Next day they call, at 1030 and said they were going to be late. I said ok. They show up - walk upstairs, and immediately report they don't know how to remove laminate and don't have the tools to do it. So guess what, I'm SOL. This is not the first disappointment, last time I got carpet installed the guy showed up a day late - and afterwards we got a flea infestation. The carpet also smelled like smoke, super gross. I only went with them again because I needed the carpet to match. SUCKS! read more

This review is for the curbside pickup service. I waited for over an hour for my item in my car after I followed instructions by confirming via email link, text message, and calling the store. I ended up needing to walk into the store and the associate was rude. I asked for help taking it to my car, and the associate said "I am not going to do that." I did not receive any assistance for an item that weighed over 100 lbs. I injured myself in the process of attempting to put the item into my car. A random pedestrian saw my struggle and was kind enough to help me. Home Depot management needs to ensure there is an actual curbside pickup team with runners. My mother and I cake in for a washer and dryer and sat in the department waiting for 30mins before we decided to just leave and take our money elsewhere. After a total of five phone calls, being redirected to three different departments, one of which NEVER answered the phone, each department deflecting the call to the previous department, wasting over 32 minutes, I never got an answer to my query. I finally drove to the Hercules store, where I had no better luck, not one employee could find or tell me whether or not they carried wallpaper adhesive, listed on their national website. Previously at this particular store in Vallejo, in the paint department, I had to explain to the employee, the difference between alkyd oil base, acrylic, and latex based paints. DO NOT BUY CARPET FROM HOME DEPOT!!!! Lesson learned. I needed to use my warranty to replace carpet & the warranty doesn't even go through them it goes through the company who manufactures the carpet. I started my claim with Sally back in March 2020, I was completely understanding of COVID and was patient for a response but I had a brand new baby due in June so in May I decided to check in on the status. Which I was then told she had gotten an answer back in MARCH and just never reached out to me. Then told me it was to hard for her to go back & forth so that I needed to email them myself. Well the carpet people denied my claim on some bs didn't even bother having anyone come out and check it, instead they accused me of creating the problem myself!!! At the end of June I called back to reopen my claim & was told they would have someone come back out and look at my carpet & that Sally would get back to me, here we are in August & she never called. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & the MANGERS don't care!!!!! I spent $5,000 on new carpet through them & I will never spend a cent more there & I will make sure everyone I know hears this & knows not to buy the carpet either. Absolutely the WORST customer service ever. I have two things that happened at this store this past weekend First, I was here checking out my purchase using the self checkout lines. There was another older man at the self checkout across from me. There were TWO employees standing next to me and one employee standing at the self checkouts where the other guy was at. The employee from that lane came over to the two standing next to me and said "Look at that guy, he's not actually scanning anything". The three of them chuckled about it and continued to stand there and just watch. I said to them "How about you go HELP him instead of standing here laughing and watching him struggle". One of the three people standing there was a manager who then started back talking to me saying "She (pointing to an employee) was just going over there to help". That employee was the one who CAME OVER FROM THE ISLE the guy was trying to check out purposely to point out and laugh at the customer who didn't know how to use the self checkout. Second, I needed delivery of products this weekend. The delivery truck showed up and was missing half my order. I went into the store and talked to some guy at customer service. He said the rest would be delivered by 9am the next morning. Great. I go home. The next day I wait and wait. No one calls or comes. So I call the store and speak with the manager who is now telling me the order is PICKUP only. I paid $160 for delivery. They had EVERYTHING IN STOCK but they screwed up. I want it delivered. She put me on hold and came back to me later and said that someone would be on the way in the next 30 minutes.... Well I want another hour and no one shows up. So I call them back and talk to the same manager. She said "I never said they would be there in 30 minutes blah blah blah" when she clearly said "On their way in 30 minutes". Well by this point they were holding up my project and I needed a few bags of cement to keep moving along. I drive to home depot and there's the delivery truck getting loaded with my stuff. The Vallejo (well any place in Vallejo) Home Depot has always been a bit challenging but now as in Oct 2022 it is a joke and the last time I will ever step foot in that store. I waited 20 mins at the paint counter while the young man was dutifully helping a woman who count not make up her mind about what color paint she wanted for her trim. Another associate asked if I needed help and I told him the story. He was surprised the other associate didn't want to cut the wood. So Alejandro said he would help me. Here's my experience: I'm right in the middle of working on my weekly Honey Do List and I have to make a trip to Home Depot. I'm here on a Sunday, so I know what to expect. But the only thing that makes any of the customers super frustrated is when you're deep into a project and you go to a hardware store with absolutely no department help and not enough register to manage the volume of customers. This is what happened to me. Incredibly frustrating!!! They literally had 15 plus people in line waiting to check out (There were only two registers open) and the self-check had the same amount of people waiting too!!! Very frustrated with Home Depot today. I ordered Graco Magnum project paint sprayer on their on their online website. The sprayer its on sale for $219. I couldn't pick it up in store so I paid $10 more for delivery to my house from 10 to 2 PM. We are all ready to paint. At around 1:20 PM I check the delivery and it was canceled by the driver. I called and they say that they were at the Vallejo store to pick up and after 15 minutes of no response from the store they left. Call Vallejo Home Depot and the person said for my inconvenience she would take $50 off of the product. I went to the store and pick it up the cashier Naomi was acting frustrated because I asked her some questions about the $50 discount. So their in store and online price are totally different. The in-store price was $279. So when they give me the discount she was going to give me a discount from 280. I said no my total plus tax was $248. She called a manager over her name was Beverly. She said that she would take $50 off of my total purchase of $248. I told her the $50 should be discount from the online price of $219. She said I'm not going to give you that discount just because you find some price online. Mind you this is their online store price. At this point I was so tired that I just took the discount from the $248. I am so disappointed with a big box store like Home Depot. I brought a new toshiba portable ac unit. When we got home, we open it up and it was clearly used. Moldy water on the bottom styrofoam, pubic hair on the unit, missing paperwork, and damage window panels. It's fine, maybe the vendor did a poor QC job and sneak in a refurbished unit and try to sell it off as a new one. But when we returned the unit, manager was rude and asked us what did we want to do? When we entered, no one greeted us, however several employees were standing around having conversations with each other. We were looking at flooring and a female employee asked how we were doing and that was the only time any employee said anything to us. We went to look at tool boxes and my husband was moving them around, trying to decide which one to choose. 2 male employees were right next to him and just continued their conversation with each other, not one time asking if he needed any help. When they finished their conversations they left the area, without a word. How do you have so many employees ignore the customers? I placed an order online for 40 bags of brown mulch. With in the hour I received an order saying it was ready for pick up, so my husband whos name was on the order went down to pick it up form the Home Depot Vallejo, CA store when he got to the customer service desk they did not know where the order was but it was showing ready and took about 25 minutes looking for it. The TWO employees who where looking for it could not find it so they had to break down a new plate of 60 bag down to 40 and they where not to happy and did not want to load it on the truck at 1st but they ended up doing so and they said that was it nothing else had to be done and my husband left. A few says later I got a email saying my order was ready to be picked up... I thought strange we picked it up maybe the system is slow... a week later I get another email say my order is waiting to be picked up and if it wasn't picked up by April 1st it was going to be cancelled.. now I didn't have to call in to let your employees know they didn't charge me for the almost $200.00 order but that was not how I was raised so I called the Vallejo customer service to let them know we picked up the order over a week ago and to please charge me for them and the lady at customer service who WOULD NOT give me her name was VERY RUDE and told me "well FYI you cant just take your order you need to come to customer service and sign a paper staying you received the items." I then told her then "FYI you should train your employees with that knowledge because my husband went to customer service and not one but TWO employees let him drive away with $200.00 worth of mulch and they loaded our truck." She then told me "it was my responsibility to sign the paper not the employees" .....HOW ON EARTH IS IT THE CUSTOMERS RESPOISABLITY TO DO HOME DEPOTS CHECK OUT POLICYS WHEN I DIDNT KNOW I NEEDED TO SIGN ANYTHING!!!! Again I didn't have to call and to be treated like I stole the items and to be talked to like I am a child is absolutely not okay! IF this store is suffering from loss I would talk to your employees because they are LETTING PEOPLE JUST DRIVE AWAY WITH OUT CHARGING THEM and I would retrain everyone so they all know the policy's and give them a team building skills in how to treat customers. Horrible customer service and they NEVER answer the phone!! I did a special order for flooring and once the order was ready for pick up they have you schedule a pick up date. I called to schedule a pick up date and that took around 30 minutes! they tell me to call an hour before going so they can have the order ready to go. I am not kidding when I say I tried calling for an hour straight, letting the phone ring 10 mins at a time to let them know I was on my way and the phone was never answered! Worst part is I get to the store and they cannot give me my order because they can't get it out of the shelf because there are other tings blocking it!! There are dozens of employees at the store why couldn't they pick up the phone and reschedule?? They waste everyone's time. They never apologized and they did nothing to make up for their mistake. Terrible store. Went in because their was a sale. Turns out sales are online offers only. I had a rep and 3-4 employees help me and non of them told me that price was a online deal only. Customer service sucked too. They told me how I was wrong instead of apologizing. I Spent 10 minutes talking to a old man named John that wasn't even a manager even though he acted like one and just waisted my time. The store manager was the worst. I don't write many reviews, but this place has the Worst customer service EVER! Ordered and paid for product online. Website says "Ready for instore pick-up". I go to store to pick up and am told "sorry, we only have half your order". "come back in four days and we will have the balance of your order". I ask: "Won't I need my paperwork (that you just took), to show I already paid?" After nearly an hour and a half of squaring away billing, I leave. Spring forward five days..... I returned to the store and I'm told: "your items did not come in". I then ask: "when will they come in?" Employees at online pick up say: "we can't tell you, that is up to the distributor. He comes to the store and fills the shelf". I asked if I can order the items specifically for me, so I know they will come in. Employees tell me "yes"; so they fill out an order and tell me "the order will be here after Wednesday". They re-charge me for my order and I wait..... Thursday arrives and I return for my third time. My order is not there again! I leave and return two weeks later..... you guessed it! My order is not there Again. Now I'm super pissed! I ask, "why is my order not here?" I get a shoulder shrug from the employee. I told the employee that I'm shocked that I place a special order and it does not come in. The employee tells me "this is not a special order". "this order looks like it is due to be stocked on the shelf on the 26th". It is my take that this is not purely a management issue but a employee issue at this store. For anybody local to the area, if you shop at Safeway, but Benicia, it is very similar: bad employee attitudes, but less outright complaints about their management. it is my guess, that this is mostly an employee issue at this HD store. I ordered a drop in range online. I paid for delivery and removal of the old range. They gave me a delivery date a week out and a time of between 4-8pm. At 8pm The delivery driver called me and said they were on the way, but they would not install the new range, nor remove the old range. I told him I paid for removal. He said they wouldn't do it and home depot would have to credit the fee. I cancelled the order. I called HD customer service. They said I'll have to wait 72 hours to get a refund. Terrible service. I'll never order another appliance from home depot. **UPDATE** Called after 72 hours because the money hadn't been credited to my account. The rep said sorry, but it'll be another 3-5 days. We gone through spurts of doing home improvement projects. Home Depot does, by far, get the largest part of those dollars though. And it boils down to two simple reasons -- good selection AND easy returns. As someone who purchases almost exclusively with a credit card, I can do a return to Home Depot even if I've lost my receipt -- I just have to know which credit card I purchased it on. This is a major benefit in my mind, as part of my strategy to any project is to buy more than I need to minimize the risk of return trips to the store. The cashiers doing returns are always friendly and don't give any attitude doing returns (which can happen at a small, locally owned hardware store). In particular, the employees in the paint dept and also the flooring dept have been helpful and knowledgeable to us in different projects. I've purchased major appliances through this store. Not a fan of the third party they contract deliveries with. The only caveat I have about shopping at Home Depot is don't wear an orange shirt. If you do, someone will stop and ask you a question. read more

For those of you not willing to slid down the rows in heels, sit down with Mary Ann in the cabinet department and have one of Home Depot's most knowledgeable and friendly staff members help you creat the cabinet set-up of your dreams. This woman knows her stuff and after working out a terrific but expensive set-up she showed me practically the same set-up using the in-stock cabinets which took my quote down almost $1000.00. You know which set-up I went with. I saved so much I am going to have her work up a design for our day spa, as well.
