This is our holiday Ham store we pass by frequently but rarely do dine in. Service 5/5 Walk Up order business model. The order Cashier Janet was polite and had our sandwich and drink out fast. First of all, I didn't even know that this place was open. We went into the T mobile store and decided to see if it was open as I haven't had one of these sandwiches in about 10 years. Well, it is open. Even when you go inside it still seems to not be open. The young lady that was standing at the counter kind of just looked at us until we figured what we wanted. Be aware that if you reserve a ham on their website and select the "pay at the store" option, your reservation is meaningless. You have the same buying options as someone walking in cold from the street. The only way you have a real reservation is if you prepay. The woman in front of me in line was given an unacceptable option so she ended up buying two 8 pound hams. I had "reserved" a 12 pound and the best they could give me was 10.9. read more

We're here picking up a ham for Christmas as we do every year at this location. The line is long, which is not surprising. They are VERY short staffed. There is only one cashier. How can you have one cashier at Christmas ?! The line isn't moving and people are questioning what is going on. It's usually very quick, even with a long line. They should have all hands on deck at the holidays. It is divided into two lines; one for people who prepaid and the others for reserved hams as well as walk-ins. This is always how they seem to do it and every year for the past 10 that I've been coming here it has run flawlessly. Not sure why they can't get it together this time. read more

There's disorganized and there's "Last chopper out of Saigon" disorganized. I had a reservation for a ham and went to pick it up on 11/22. Not only was someone trying to charge 40 bucks to park in the lot, there was a line around the building. The underpaid, overworked manager was out trying to explain what was going on, but honestly, it was falling on deaf ears. What's the point of having a reservation when it's unlikely it will be honored? To quote Jerry Seinfeld "You can take a reservation, you just can't keep one". Why didn't anyone cut reservations online? You could still "Reserve" a ham online on Thanksgiving Eve, despite them not having enough for existing orders. There is no excuse for what I witnessed, and Honey Baked Ham should be ashamed of themselves for putting their staff in such a dire situation. Have shopped at this store (Baseline and Power Rd) for years with no issues. Bought a ham and paid $122.00 plus tax. A little steep but with the economy the way it is, I guess it was to be expected. They haven't allowed you to look at the hams before purchase like they used to. Cutting to the chase, after all of the edible portions were removed there was over 2 lbs of bone and fat. I have a order number I have a confirmation code I called and pre-order didn't even have an email and they refused to give me a ham because it's not prepaid. You place an order online in advance, pay for it, and honeybaked kicks back and continues to sell hundreds more with no forethought or planning on how it's going to produce those efficiently. We recently discovered that this place actually serves lunch! I've only ordered hams and turkeys from here during the holidays and I'm kicking myself for not trying their sandwiches sooner. Seriously, they are so good! The customer service at this location is also great. Every time we've gone, they were so friendly and patient as we took our time looking at their menu and ordering. I should really make an attempt to visit this HoneyBaked Ham store at a time other than around the holidays. I see that they serve sandwiches and sell their wares like a normal store/cafe, year-round. I visited several days before Christmas. I was able to go online and reserve a ham in my choice of size. If you have read any of my other reviews, you know that I have a weak spot for places with online ordering. The interior is well set up and clean. The inventory, even for the holiday, was stocked. There was a lady set up in the corner, giving out samples of some salad and holiday concoctions. Frankly, it was nice to have a little snack while waiting in line. Their marketing ploy worked like a charm, and I ended up with my arms full of several holiday side dishes and bread. Bonus for not having to create (ahem, Pinterest) my own recipes for side dishes. The staff at the counter was very kind and thorough, despite the really busy atmosphere. My ham was displayed for me to approve prior to acceptance. The instructions for cooking were printed on my plastic shopping bag. This is genius! I will definitely be back to this location to just try a sandwich, or get some more sides. My family really enjoyed them, and I'm interested to see what they offer year-round. read more

My 15yo autistic son and husband went to pick our order up today and I'm not sure if the guard thought they look a certain race (they are Alaskan Inupiaq Eskimo) but they were accosted as they walked in. He and my autistic 15yo were gruffly and extremely rudely talked down to before they could even get their thoughts in order. My husband said the guard "accompanied" them the entire time. He felt violated and to be honest, a bit nervous. Never before has he been treated as a (possible) thief is the only way my husband cod describe it. The guard terrified my son who is autistic and inferioritated my husband. This includes following them out the door after they had paid. ONLY at the very end he tells my husband they are being proactive as some folks went to the wrong store. I am sorry but that excuse was flaky at best and inexcusable. I am not even sure what might make this any better. We thought Honeybaked Ham was an upper class establishment. Apparently I was wrong in ordering from your establishment. I will be posting to the many Facebook forums for both people of color and autistic people in not only Arizona but New Mexico, California but also Utah and Nevada, and any other forum i see fit. I was disappointed to get home and see that the ham I pre ordered and picked up is over cooked and burnt that they then tried to smear some extra glaze on to cover up. Usually a great product, that you pay a premium for.. its disappointing that they would try to pass a off a less than quality product. I called and I was told I can come exchange it, that sure isn't convenient during the holidays. Make sure you check the quality of your product before leaving I guess. Suburban holiday in Phoenix: jamming a car into an overfilled parking lot and waiting in line for 30 minutes for a ham in a plastic bag. It tastes great though, the glaze is what makes it (I should know, I worked here briefly!). Better to buy a hunk and make your own sandwiches than to wait in line to pay their hefty prices for the same home variation.
