Date of visit: 9/14/23 We started doing Packer Parties again with the neighbors and I had been getting notifications that my rewards points with Honey Baked Ham were on the cusp of expiration. I saw that we could get a pound of ham and turkey, pre-sliced, which sounded--wait for it--heavenly. Ordering online was pretty painless and I selected a timeframe that worked for me. It's close to work, so walking over was a breeze. Despite coming towards the end of my pick up window, my order was not ready and I had to wait a while for it to be sliced, I guess. I say that because I wasn't told anything, just that it wasn't ready. The store isn't very big, so I wandered in circles until I was handed my order. Odd: Nothing in the store has a price on it. There were several interesting things, from red velvet cake to condiments, but nothing was priced or signed and staff didn't offer to provide any prices. Got a gift card from here for Christmas, and decided to order the spiral ham for a dinner party. Prices are a little high, but the quality is excellent. Ham melts in your mouth and it's extremely delicious. Staff is great, and many items to choose from! If you have a big order, definitely call first. Especially busy around holidays. read more

Ham was great! Flavor was good, we ordered a full boneless ham and it was a crowd pleaser at our event. I'm disappointed with the customer service and their pricing model. If I am ordering online, there are not many disclaimers highlighted to note the price range would vary. We paid one rate and then noticed a nearly $20 up charge to my card after picking up the ham. When I called their manager they pushed back and put responsibility of the price discrepancy on me. I really don't want to leave any bad reviews for places, but sometimes I just have to, stopped by because we were in the area and got 2 different sandwiches($10.50 each) to go, got home and could not believe how small and skimpy they were, 3 slices of ham on each, these were $4-5 at best, also checked into ham for Easter but way overpriced for that, I agree with Clay and will be getting our Easter ham elsewhere. The one star is generous considering the price we paid for a skimpy sandwich. read more

Ok I have driven past this place for years and the lack of pictures never really inspired me to stop by and to this day the same two pictures for ever is all they have so I'm going to have to do my Yelp duty and check them out and post some pictures. The place is across from World of beer in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The store is in a coroner spot in the strip mall with lots of windows in the L shape so lots of natural light. The place is nice/bright and clean looking with light wood tables and chairs. There is coolers with take home items like BBQ ribs, sides, cakes, pies cheesecake etc etc. Dry soups and sandwich spreads like horseradish and BBQ separate the the dining room from form the order counter. There is not a huge selection of cold sandwiches but enough to satisfy most people and my choice would be the tavern club which is ham, smoked turkey breast, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, savory mayo, honey mustard on a multi grain bread. Ok you had me up until multi grain bread but what the hell lets go for it. Right off the bat I was liking how cold all the ingredients except for the bread on a warm day was refreshing, the lettuce etc was cold and crisp and I mean no room temperature sandwich here which immediately stood out. The second was the tasty crispy bacon which added a nice texture to complement the softer lettuce, tomato and bread etc. Wow I was surprised at how much more I really liked this sandwich than I expected to. The cold crisp crunchy pickle that came with it was very complementary to the cold sandwich. At 3 pm they were out of soup but maybe next time because if the soups are like the sandwiches they should be pretty good. Ok after the lack of pictures failed to get me in I'm going to post pictures so if other people have the same issue just stop over because I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and freshness of my sandwich. This is a decent place. Reminds me of a not-so-nice Panera Bread, but the food is good, it's just the seating and decor and the loud refrigerator. The service is good here too. This is the first year buying the ham went so quickly! I think they finally found the correct way of handling the flow of people. You select and buy the ham in the same line. I love the ham here. The employees are always very pleasant and helpful. I get the buy one get one soup bones too and the navy bean soup mix. Very reasonable for a large portion of soup that I can freeze. The earlier review from 2008 cracks me up saying he doesn't see this place lasting long. Boy was he wrong!!! This rating has to do with value. The quality of the food here is fine. It's just outlandishly overpriced. It is based on my personal customer experience with this company's ham over the 2013 holiday. This past Christmas I, as well as my sister shared the cooking responsibilities for a very large family gathering. Given oven space etc. we both needed to bring a ham as well as a couple sides. We have in the past used Honey Baked Ham Co. ham. We went together to a grocery store in Mequon because they have a Honey Baked Ham kiosk. I have also purchased their hams at the store near Mayfair on numerous other occasions believing they were somehow superior to other hams. When we got to the kiosk we both asked for a 7 lb. ham figuring we needed 12 pounds to feed the gathering (about 24 people) and we both like having leftovers for sandwiches, etc. I was shown a 7.25 lb. ham. Price $54! My sister also got a ham that was just over 7 lbs. With our hams in our cart we walked over to get some other items and in doing so walked past the case that had Roundy's brand spiral cut hams. I checked the prices. 9 lb ham - $22.50 - about half the cost and nearly two pounds more. My sister and I decided on testing a concept. If she cooked the expensive Honey Baked ham and I cooked a Roundy's ham using the same recipe could our guests tell the difference? So we purchased the 7.25 lb. Honeybaked Ham and the 9 lb. Roundy's ham. The answer is no. Not a single guest could delineate which ham was which. We prepared them in exactly the same fashion. One other note - HONEY BAKED HAM DOESN'T WANT YOU TO KNOW THIS! I wrote a long review here leaving out the portion about how we actually bought one of their hams and Honey Baked asked Yelp to remove it which they did! That original review got 6 "useful" votes within two days of posting. The point of the review is that I bought their ham and another ham and I'm here to tell you that they are indistinguishable from other hams that are prepared in a similar fashion. Here's the original review: Folks, don't be suckers. Really, it's one thing to pay a bit more for a ham around the holidays but is it really worth it to pay more than DOUBLE for a ham from this place?! I know what you're thinking - this ham is so delicious. Well, guess what? It's the same ham as in the Roundy's label or pretty much any other label. I guarantee you can make a ham every bit as delicious as this using a grocery store spiral cut ham. I just came from Metro Market where Honeybaked Ham has a kiosk. I asked for 7 lb ham. They showed me one weighing 7.25 lbs. - cost? $54. I walk 20 steps over to the meat cases. 9 lb spiral cut ham - cost? $22.25. HALF THE COST and nearly 2 lbs more. Oh, but the Honeybaked Ham has this special crust. Y'know that the crust is? Brown sugar and honey. That's it. Follow this recipe: Take your Roundy's or whatever brand spiral cut ham, unwrap it and place in a turkey roasting pan spiral cuts up. Mix some brown sugar with just enough honey to make a paste. Coat the top (spiral cuts facing up) of the ham. Preheat oven to 275°F. Tent the ham with some foil to keep the juices in it. Cook at 275°F for approximately 12 minutes per pound. Toward the end of the cooking time mix equal parts red current jelly and honey mustard. Place in a sauce pan and gently heat until all the jelly is liquid and sauce is blended together. Remove ham from oven, place on platter. Surround ham with Cardamom Rice (recipe follows) or any rice of your choosing. Spoon sauce over ham so that it runs into spirals and down into the rice. Taste it. Now see? It's every bit as good as that stupid $54 ham! Cardamom and Red Currant Rice: 1/4 cup butter 1 medium sweet onion chopped 1 cup basmati rice 2 cups chicken broth 3 tablespoons cardamom 1 teaspoon turmeric 1 teaspoon cumin or to taste 1 cinnamon stick 5 cloves 1/4 cup dried red currants In a large sauce pan or deep frying pan melt the butter Stir in onion and sautee a couple minutes Stir in rice and brown for a few minutes Add chicken stock, bring up to a boil then reduce to a simmer Add caramom, turmeric, cumin, cinnamon stick, cloves and dried currants Simmer the rice 25 minutes or until done Remove the cinnamon stick and cloves if you can find them There ya go. Sit back and enjoy your savings and the raves of your guests. read more

There are two elements to this place, the honeybaked "cafe", and the honeybaked ham store. They're both the same building, same doors, same counter, etc. This is a review for the Cafe portion. My overall experience was very good here. There were sample available as soon as we came in, ordering with the staff was friendly and painless, and our food was served without delay. I found the food quality to be good. I had a hot ham and cheese (they have a special name for it that I can't recall), which was very tasty and melty and warm... perfect for a sub-zero day in the 'tosa area. My only complaints were that the place was a bit drafty (I wore my coat the whole time), and I felt like the sandwich could have used an additional side or something. I liked the food. It was not a great value, but not necessarily bad either. I work right across the street, used to go here regularly... but stopped when they constantly were out of the side I wanted during lunch hours. It had finally happened enough that I contacted them to constructively complain. I was not given excuses but was given a negative "don't care" viewpoint back. What solidified it for me was correspondence with the owner/manager where he admitted that Brocolli Bliss (the side I want) keeps for days and they can make it any time, but they just run out regularly; like it is no big deal or concern to him. If you can make it anytime and it keeps for more than the current day... why are you running out of it so often? Lack of caring is the only reason. Once a place proves to me they do not really care, I tend to check out on them. If they do not care about that, what else do they not care about? That is a not a quality or customer-service-oriented viewpoint and when a place operates like that they tend to do many other things improperly. We take ham home from this store probably a half dozen times a year. I have signed up for their emails and they send coupons. The last one was buy a sliced pound, get one free. They charge 15.49 a pound for this which probably makes it the most expensive thing that they sell. We paid for 2 pounds and got 2 pounds free. 4 pounds for roughly 32.00. Expensive, right? The was ABSOLUTELY NO GLAZE on ANY of the slices. Just exactly what is the product people come to your store for? HONEYBAKED HAM!! This was like you sliced it and never glazed it at all. Their regular unsliced product with the glaze on is pretty good and somewhat justifies the prices they charge. But this was ridiculous. STAY AWAY FROM THE SLICED POUNDS. It most certainly is not the product you know and like. We, as long time repeat customers have a right to expect more. read more

Picked up a 10 lb ham and a 2.5 lb turkey for Christmas. Holy wow. These things were amazing. Great service, Rudy and Ruby were both awesome at this store. Gave me $10 off the price of the ham because we upgraded from a 7 lb. They do a great job at this location and I will definitely be back. If you haven't tried one of their hams, you are missing out for sure. I can't find a ham comparable to this place. Add in the top notch service, and you have a great business. Nice job! I went here a couple of weeks ago, on a Monday, and had a very good turkey sandwich, so the quality of the food isn't my issue. I went back today and, apparently, the people who work there cannot serve another customer, who just wanted a sandwich, until another party who was ordering a ham platter, was done. I stood there for over 5 minutes waiting to be served while the other party sampled hams, discussed quantity, etc. And there were 2 employees working today. The other employee, who was just standing there and not helping the other customers, was the one who told me I couldn't order until the other customers were done. I left and went to Cousins, where I was in and out in under 5 minutes. You guys either need to get more staff or train them better, because you just lost a customer. read more
