Tiki Chick I will always love you! Just such a fun place, you can't beat the vibes. The drinks are of course, pretty intense and sweet but that's what you come for! Service can be a little lax but servers are all kind and chatty, just a little busy at times. Their sandwiches are sooo good and simple. I will always return to Tiki

You can't beat the $5 chicken sandwiches and snack bites. The sauce on the link wave was 10/10. Also a fan of the various fruity and frozen drinks. Service was a little slow but it was lovely to sit outside with our dogs on a nice day.

It's hard to beat $5 chicken sandwiches! We tried volcano chick, hot honey and pink wave and liked them all. The volcano chick was my favorite of the three. For drinks I had the caipirinha with mango which was good but very strong. The vibe here is great and very lively, and all employees were really friendly. It's a great weekday spot or spot to meet with friends

Tiki Chick seems to be the take coût counter for the Tiki Bar on Amsterdam and 85th. They only offered two chicken sandwiches. I ordered a hot honey chicken sandwich for take out with extra pickles. It was $5.00. The sandwich was fantastic, and hot. The chicken was moist and thick. Please see photos. It was ready 10 minutes after I ordered. The Tiki Bar seems very lively and there was a line to get in. Great outdoor seating for patrons of the bar.

I came here last week for their Grinchmas overlay. The vibes were so fun for the Holiday season and they had so many specialty cocktails, just for Grinchmas! I had the Cindy Lou Who, which came in a sparkly snowglobe cup. It was so cute and was actually very well balanced. Not too sweet at all! I also tried the Grinch margarita, and it was really great! It tasted like a prickly pear margarita and was perfectly tart. We also tried the who hash fries. They were weirdly great?! They had this like onion/apple mixture on top that was really unique. Just wish there was more of it! Overall, this holiday overlay was so fun and I hope they do it again next year! Only negative was the service was not the best. Our original server left and then the person who took over made us feel sort of rushed and unwelcome at the end of our experience. Other than that, we had a great time!

My friend has been wanting me to try Tiki Chick for years and we finally went as part of her birthday week. The cutely decorated Bar serves drinks with their signature Tiki toothpick and mini umbrellas. Happy hour drinks are good and the staff is patient. Do not sleep on the food menu, the chicken sandwiches hit the spot with the cocktails. I enjoyed the pina colada a lot and only needed one. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in the city.

Read about the $5 food menu a while back and got reminded when a fellow yelper mentioned to try the sandwiches. So, went twice when in the area. Decorated with artificial greens and polynesian theme plus added halloween/holiday decor. The bar is centrally located. Not really drinking, so just focused on the food menu - $5 per item. A variety of sandwiches, more with fried chicken (just different toppings and sauces). Picked the one with spam and pineapple. Actually good sized sandwich and tasted alright (though I prefer spam toasted up). Chili fries were ok. Shrimp ceviche had a citrusy sweet sauce (like shrimp cocktail sauce) - I was ok tasting it that time but will pass on it. On the second visit, I complained of a chemical taste in my water. Smelled my glass and there was an odor. I was offered a replacement water but wasn't comfortable drinking from there anymore .

MANHATTAN / Upper West Side: Looking for a fun spot with tropical vibes? Tiki Chick is a fantastic tiki-themed restaurant and bar and best of all, their outdoor seating is dog friendly! We indulged in some seriously tasty sandwiches, including the vegan tikilafel (a falafel lover's dream) and the spicy volcano chick (crispy fried chicken with just the right kick of heat). Their massive tropical drink list is a vacation in itself, and the seasonal Spooky Chick cocktail menu adds a festive twist. The "Simply Meant to Be Mezcalita" is perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. Leashed, friendly pups are welcome in the colorful outdoor area, complete with covered and heated seating for comfort. There is also additional covered seating along the street, so there is plenty of space to relax, sip something tropical, and enjoy an affordable meal in a fun, laid-back atmosphere.

After exploring the natural history museum, we decided to head to Tiki Chick, where the warm and welcoming service made us feel right at home. The fun ambiance was enhanced by the lively World Cup game on TV, and since we visited during happy hour, it was the perfect way to unwind. Jesus Z. was fantastic at the bar--super friendly and helpful, making our experience even more enjoyable and relaxed.

Merry Grinchmas! The Christmas themed decor was the draw on this visit otherwise not a place a frequent. Of course we ordered from the Grinchmas menu! I had How the Grinch Stole Coquito $17. It was very strong and very frozen so hard for me to drink. We tried The Who Hash Fries. In general I've come to the conclusion I'm really not a fan of their fries. I had the hot dog for the first time and that's an amazing deal for $5. It's massive (foot long) and loaded with chili (Spam) and cheese. I'd get this over the chicken sandwiches going forward. It was a fun experience and we were lucky it wasn't super busy on the Sunday afternoon we went!

They've solidified itself as my top 5 favorite bars in NYC. It takes away the pretentiousness and moxie of a Manhattan to create a fun, whimsical space that always leaves me beyond satisfied. The staff are angels that treated you like you just entered heaven. I suggest if you have a smaller party sit at the bar. Its tiki theme obviously- so theres a ton of extravagant cocktails. Jungle Bird and Shark Snacks are my two favorites if you want to feel like you are transported to a white sands and blue waters. Also I would I can't not forget to shoutout the bar snacks. The Tiki Fries ($5) and Pink Wave - Chicken Sandwich ($5) are delicious at an unbeatable price. One thing to be aware is that they don't have reservations so could be packed at times.

The appetizers, the cocktails were full proof and not watered down, but most importantly my waitress was AWESOME-SAUCE. The best fun in a loooong time, especially having stimulating convo with strangers. The effectuating ambiance is the intoxicating energy in the background.

I had this spot saved for months, and every time I get discouraged to go there due to being little bit far from Midtown. But Let me tell you, my visit here was worth the time and the ride. Environment: It was on point, with a lot of seating a.d good music, this place is a must for brunch or catch up with a friend kind of vibe. I would note, that you might need to RSVP during high season and peak times, cause when I got there, I found a line outside. Luckily for me, my group got a table beforehand. Service: The Waitress was great she kept checking every now and then to clear the table, refill the bottle, and take in any extra/new orders we had. Food/Drink: The fact you can get a very good quality of chicken sandwich for 5$ is unbeatable, to the point I took an extra one to-go, even the size was almost the same as a regular sandwich, and the meat was the perfect size. I would note that the fries need some improvements! The Pina Colada was also a great add-on as it offered a great mix sweet and fruity taste to the drink.

Can I stop by with my daughters who are not yet 21 years old? They would eat. I would eat and drink.

Under 21s are welcome before 7pm!

How would this place be for a casual first-date type place? Or is it too noisy for conversation?

I think it would be great, they do have music but you'll still be able to have a conversation and it's pretty much a bar with a small food menu so it works for a casual hang out kind of vibe.

    Do you take reservations?

Yes they do. During peak hours I would recommend it.

Do you serve espresso martinis? Or your take on them?

We have our house Espresso-Tiki tini: Santa Teresa 1796 arabica Coffee Cask, Giffard Cafe du Honduras, Cynar, Cold Brew, Vanilla Bean infused Coconut Palm Sugar, Mole bitters,…

Does this place have any happy hour on certain nights?

Don't remember seeing any happy hour specials the night I was there. I doubt it

It has easily earned a spot as one of my favorite bars of all time. The underground space flawlessly captures a raw, seedy, 1980s rock 'n' roll vibe, with eclectic decor that extends beautifully to the themed menus and custom glassware. Sitting at the bar was a highlight--the bartenders were fantastic, clearly proud of their craft, and they even humorously indulged my game of trying to guess the ingredients of each drink they mixed. The cocktail lineup is phenomenal. A few absolute highlights: the Purple Rain with its purple ice and peppercorn, the flambéed Dirty Dancing, a brilliant espresso martini riff called Flick The Bean, and Pure Temptation--which has glassware you just have to see for yourself. The unassuming outside hides a tremendously cool inside. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted warmly by Dinara (sp?) who was effortlessly cool in her own right. A young lady ( whose name I didn't catch) promptly seated us. It's not a huge space, but we didn't feel cramped. There was a bar up front, tables along the side walls and a stage in the back. Apparently they have live music nights and open mic nights too. When we went there was 80s/90s music playing and it was very cool. The decor is unapologetically Black and I love it! The restroom is clean and contemporary. The service staff is amazing and attentive. They gave us cornbread with berry butter. Very tasty! My only complaint is that they could have given us each a piece instead of giving us one piece cut into 2. Lol! But it was free! And if that's the "worst" part of the experience then you know it was an overall good time! I was wavering between whether or not to get the collard greens and asked if they were sweet or bitter or spicy. Our server went and got a small sample for me to try because it was hard to describe. I was grateful for her willingness to let me try them. By the way I did order them and they are more savory than any of the above. It's a gentle savory flavor. I also got rice and beans and teriyaki salmon. The beans weren't exactly what I expected. They were black beans which I don't typically associate with soul food. They weren't bad although next time I think I'll get potatoes. My dining companion got lamb chops and collard greens and mac and cheese. She loved everything and at it right up! The food presentation, flavor, and portion size were all good. I didn't leave feeling overstuffed but I was satisfied. The servers checked in on us an appropriate amount of times (we didn't feel rushed or under surveillance but they made sure we had what we needed). The manager/owner stopped by to make sure everything was good and chatted with us. All around good vibes & good eats--I would go again. Highly recommend!

Thank you, Valerie Simpson, and your late husband; Nickolas Ashford, for creating this amazing venue. The guest host for the evening was the incredibly talented Olutayo. Olutayo is joy exemplified. His vocal range, dance moves, entertaining facial expressions...infectious. I fell in love with this man and did not hesitate to tell him so. Beyond his talents was Olu's ability to manage / juggle the night's open-mic entertainers with such grace. From the lyrics of En Vogue and Salt-N-Peppa: "Whatta Man, Whatta Man, What a Mighty Good Man!" All of the entertainers were incredible. What a range of singers, dancers, a poet, a violinist. And the band! The band! The band! Come on!! Outstanding. I was seated next to Darius, one of the several background vocalists that were positioned throughout the lounge. We became fast friends in this space filled with exuberance. Darius was a delight. He was also a big brother to me, making sure no one blocked my view of the performance. Thank you, Darius, that was so kind of you. I had such a wonderful time being in the company of all these amazingly talented people. It was a 6-hour dopamine rush that should not be missed. The dinner that was served was top-notch. I had the Sea Bass. My friend had the Golden Fried Chicken. Both meals were delicious. I had the ginger mocktail with rosemary and blueberries - so yummy I had two. Dessert was key lime pie - suffer we will. Our server; Vickie, was a delight and amazing to observe as she maneuvered around the performers and kept us and everyone around us well served and continually hydrated. Vickie is to be commended for how hard she worked throughout the evening. I made sure our tip reflected our appreciation of her. Put the Sugar Bar on your bucket list when visiting NYC. You'll leave there feeling you have experienced Heaven on Earth.

Decor/actual restaurant: This particular location is very small and tight with limited in-store seating. The interior is cute, I like the blue color theme they have here. For a restaurant designed for to-go orders, I believe that there could be more waiting room and a couple less chairs. Service: Like many "fast food adjacent" restaurants, the people who work there have good customer service but I imagine deal with the worst. I know they're doing great with the situation they're in. Kudos to them. Food: this is probably my harshest critique. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich, and it was fine. I don't believe it was worth the $16 I spent though. The chicken was kind of bland, tasted similarly to frozen grilled chicken pieces you buy from a grocery store. I do wish there was more sauce. The pesto tasted good but overall there was too much bread. I fear you would be better off making something like this at home for a comparable price. The bread was good, just too much. I don't want to base the menu on this sandwich alone, a lot of the menu options sounded delicious, but this was just the experience I had!
