10/10 experience! My favorite part of the evening was the service. From the moment I walked in, everyone was warm, accommodating, and genuinely knowledgeable. I hate that I can't remember my server's name because he was phenomenal. I don't drink alcohol, but he recommended a few mocktails that were absolutely delicious. He also guided almost all of our food and dessert choices, and every recommendation was spot on. I originally made a reservation for indoor seating, but since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to sit outside by the pool. It ended up being the perfect choice. There atmosphere was relaxing, the noise level made conversation easy, and the view was beautiful. For food, we ordered the Pappardelle al Ragù, which was delicious. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked with great flavor. I wouldn't have minded a little more protein, but it was still a really enjoyable dish. We also had the Little Gem Caesar with chicken, a classic done exceptionally well. The standout, however, was the Diavola pizza. The combination of spicy soppressata with the honey drizzle was absolutely top tier, and the soft, airy crust brought everything together perfectly. It was easily my favorite dish of the meal. To drink, we had a couple of non alcoholic Cosmojitos, which were refreshing, flavorful, and a great complement to the meal. We closed out the evening with the homemade carrot cake, and wow it was the cake of my dreams. Perfectly moist, incredibly flavorful, and just the right level of sweetness without being overpowering. Updating my review because my opinion drastically changed. I was so excited to bring my sister because I had hyped this place up from my last experience. We got there early and were told we could have a table for about an hour and 15 minutes before the next reservation, which was totally fair. We ordered everything right away since we knew we were on a time limit. After sitting for 10-15 minutes before anyone greeted us, our appetizer came out before our martinis, which took another 20 minutes. Our server was nowhere to be found most of the time, and we honestly felt forgotten. Mind you, these martinis are premade and just needed to be poured. The food and martinis are still great, but the service really disappointed us. I was honestly embarrassed after talking this place up so much. To top it off, there was an automatic 20% gratuity. I always tip 20% or more and rarely leave negative reviews, but based on the service, I don't think it was deserved this time. We ended up going somewhere else afterward for more food and drinks and had an amazing experience, so unfortunately Dante has dropped pretty low on my list of recommendations. I was really looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. After being seated, we waited nearly 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. Not even exaggerating on the wait time. When I ordered a Twist cocktail and asked if it could be made with tequila instead, our server said he would check with the bartender. He later returned and tol us it wasn't possible, so my friend ordered a different drink instead. What was frustrating is that he never mentioned happy hour had ended while we were waiting for him to come back. We were then charged $10 for the original drink we never received, and the replacement drink was charged at full price because happy hour had expired. That didn't feel fair since the delay was entirely on the server's end. To make matters worse, a 20% service charge was already added to the bill, yet the service was some of the worst we've experienced. Between the long wait, poor communication, and incorrect charges, the experience didn't match the reputation or prices of this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it based on the service alone. The place is BEAUTIFUL, especially during sunset. Book a table for the terrace for 45 minutes before sunset and you will witness one of the most tranquil sunsets overlooking LA.. The interior is classy and elegant. While you can wear whatever you want, I do recommend dressing up a bit to be a part of the special ambiance. Service was EXCELLENT. The servers including our waiter were attentive and helpful. Sadly, the food was a bit of hit and miss for me. The Frutti De Mare (seafood pasta) was disappointing. While it had beautiful presentation and large prawns, I didn't like the flavor of this dish. I wanted a fresh taste made of fresh aromatics such as tomatoes, basil, garlic, or shallots. The sauce was made of some kind of cream and the flavor was just lacking freshness. The shrimp was overcooked, and tasted previously frozen. This dish missed the mark on flavor and texture. My sister got the pan-seared halibut and that was better. The texture of the fish was good although I didn't particularly like the flavor. The bread service was my favorite part of the meal. The bread was made in-house according to our server and it did have the perfect balance of Japanese milk bread and a sourdough. That was a WINNER! The broccolini while generous in portion was just ok both in texture, flavor and creativity. Was around Rodeo and had Dante on my places to eat at most, so decided no time like the present, made a quick reservation and headed over. Rooftop spot with nice ambiance and views of the Beverly area. We were able to be seated next to the terrace, so there was a nice breeze and views to start the meal. We began with cocktails, the Pornstar 2.0 and a Mai Tai. The Pornstar is a vodka and rum based martini with guava, passion fruit, lime and vanilla. Very flavorful, just makes your mouth happy. The Mai Tai was your classic version and well balanced. Fit for, we started with the oysters. Not sure flavorful, not sure where they were from or what species of otster, but they were not memorable. For entrees, the Frutti di Mare is a pasta dish with lobster, clams, calamari and tiger prawns. Ample amounts of shellfish in the dish, but, outside of that, something felt missing with the flavor. The butternut squash agnolotti, on the other hand, was delicious. The pasta came with brown butter, hazelnut, fresh sage, lemon zest, lemon juice, white wine and black pepper. There was that great flavor from the brown butter mixed with the butternut squash, and texture with the hazelnut, with the same and lemon zest making it all pop. Just a great dish, would highly recommend it! Overall, cool rooftop spot with nice vibes and nice cocktails. A little on the pricier side as two entrees, two drinks and six oysters came to over $200. Not so wow on the taste, but the seafood is once again big in size. My sons said he liked his PORK CHOP, it was not dry at all and he said it was good. He didn't eat the Beans 'coz my son doesn't really eat any kind of Beans at all, so I ended up eating those and it's pretty good beans. My BRANZINO, I love ordering Branzino at any restaurant I go to if they have it on their Menu. This Branzino was very simple and there's nothing much to say besides that it's just a grilled Fish, they could have added some good seasoning to it or flavored it more. I ate so many Branzino with a nice seasoning at other restaurants I've been to. I'm not saying that the Branzino here is bad, it's just made so simple that it needed more flavor. The main room has a small indoor and patio area and another the other side, space enough to host a small party. The service was great and everyone was very attentive. For drinks we ordered off menu spicy watermelon margaritas which were very good but very tiny at $21 each. The menu isn't super expansive but it's brunch so that was ok. We ordered the oysters and burrata to start. The oysters were fine but didn't come with horseradish, tobacco or mignonette so they were very average. The burrata itself was good but our toast was burned and the charred smoky flavor overwhelmed the burrata. The honey would have been great, if it wasn't just a hard lump of honeycomb that yielded zero honey. For our entree we order the diavola pizza and french fries. The pizza was massively undercooked and wet. The texture was slimy and overall disappointing. The fries were good but they're very average fries. While the food is desperately lacking in flavor with overpriced items, we would probably go back for cocktails and fries, simply because it is so close to the shopping areas and it does have a nice view. read more

Didn't get to do a redo for my daughter's birthday here this year. She wanted to do so, plus two other attendees were very excited. Had a total of 9 people, so it wouldn't have been anything to laugh at as far as bill size goes. I made the reservation a few weeks in advance. My phone auto answers numbers I don't know and there was a woman who left me a message saying they had to cancel my reservation because an event was going to take place. They would re-open at 8:30 or I could choose another date. 8:30 for a bunch of kids having dinner, they don't want that. And I certainly don't want that! I tried calling them back immediately when I saw the visual voicemail. There is no actual number. It's a call service. The person asked if I had a name or extension of the person who left me a message. I said no they didn't leave either, just a woman with a heavy accent. So I could not speak to anyone on the phone that was in the restaurant. I spoke to someone that would try to relay a message and they said someone from there should call me back. They never did. The didn't even cancel it on the resy app but there would be no table if I showed up. So locals, this is not a spot that I would suggest booking a bigger table for because you could end up with a disappointment like us. My daughter was so sad. We found another one that was walking distance from us as I scrambled to find a place that could seat 9 people, but this has left a lasting impression. I will say i was impressed by the service considering we were young girls, and most of the crowd was contrary. The view was to die for and our server was amazing. Originally from NYC, this restaurant has been open since 1915 and this is their West Coast location. One of the best rooftops in the city offering gorgeous skyline views with a $10 martini, look no further than Dante Beverly Hills. Parking could not be easier as there is an underground parking structure next door which is free for the first 2 hours. Whether lunch or dinner, this is such a beautiful space where you're meant to have fun conversations over appetizers and cocktails. I left work early (hehe) so my wife and I could take advantage of the $10 Martini Hour which is from 3pm-5pm daily. We requested a table in the terrace to enjoy our drinks and wood-fire pizza while soaking in some sun. Since it's an Italian-Mediterranean restaurant, I decided to get a spritz and it's by far the best Hugo Spritz I've had. Although they do take walk-ins, I highly recommend making a reservation for lunch (or dinner) so you can experience the quiet but cool ambiance. Conveneiently located near the City Parking Lot that offers free 2 hour parking before 6pm or $5 all day after 6pm. Located inside the Maybourne hotel, take elevator to the 9th floor. Views are absolutely incredible. The decor so beautiful. It was recently voted best rooftop in TimeOut LA. We sat at the bar and John was so helpful! He was welcoming, kind and personable. We had their classic Dante Martini and Upside Down Dirty Gibson. Both phenomenal, fresh, crisp, just perfect. We were limited in time, but we will absolutely be returning. John advised the pizza is quite popular as they have a wood fire pizza oven they use, which you can see when you step outside the lounge. The martinis are smaller than you'd expect, but for $10 you can't really beat it. The 20th Century is my favorite of the martini hour menu, but the Supergreens and Porn Star 2.0 are on their regular menu and are delicious. The Porn Star is steep in price ($30) but comes with extra on the side which make it feel like 2 cocktails so it's worth it in my opinion. Food-wise, we were very happy. We ordered the burrata with bread, banana bread with butter, steak and eggs with thinly sliced avocado, and the branzino with salad. Everything was quite good -- well-executed, flavorful, and clearly thoughtfully prepared. Special shoutout to Dante's hot sauce, which is fantastic and deserves to be bottled immediately. I also want to be clear that every person we interacted with on staff was very kind, and our server Greg was excellent -- attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. This isn't a complaint about attitude or effort; it's about execution. Where things started to unravel was the reservation and seating situation. We arrived while waiting for my wife, and initially the host let us know there were no seats available -- totally fair and understood. He then checked the reservation system and noticed there was a table available for about an hour and a half, with a firm 2:30 exit time. That worked for us, and we appreciated the flexibility. Assuming everyone inside was operating under similar reservation constraints, I started paying attention to the room. A table directly across from us had a group sit down around 2:00... and then leave within five minutes, apparently deciding not to eat. I immediately asked the host if we could move to that table for the remaining time. At that point, we were told the reservation for that table had already been filled. However, when we tried to explain that we had asked almost immediately after the table was vacated -- and that from where we were seated we could clearly see the table remained empty -- we weren't really given the opportunity to have that conversation. Roughly 20 minutes later, the table was still empty, which made the explanation hard to reconcile with what we were seeing in real time. Instead, we were moved to another area behind the DJ, which was honestly suboptimal. The tables and seating are low back there, and for a group of tall people, it felt cramped and awkward -- a noticeable downgrade from where we were originally seated. What really tipped things over was this: the table we weren't allowed to move to remained empty until around 3:15! At that point, it stopped feeling like a reservation issue and started feeling like poor coordination or decision-making. Especially given that we were spending a decent amount of money, it left a bad taste that overshadowed an otherwise strong experience. nice rooftop vibes with good food! what we got: the Bianca pizza (ricotta & honey on a fluffy bread) butternut squash agnolotti pan roasted halibut pappardelle al ragu tiramisu i tried the first two and the tiramisu- honestly all were so delicious the bianca was sooo yummy with the combo of cheese and honey, and the bread was so soft. the butternut squash pasta was really good. because it's a bit sweeter the portion is on the smaller side, as it would probably be too much sweetness otherwise. we found this portion perfect for the meal the tiramisu was SO rich in their chocolate/cacao(idk which lol) taste very nice interior, pretty outdoor patio as well with a decent view + heaters. the hotel that it's connected to is gorgeous as well [tbh this is on the pricier side, but the food was still good so i'd recommend it for the vibes too] read more

To say that I was disappointed would be an understatement. I've been wanting to try Dante for a while now and thought that my birthday would be the perfect occasion to do so. I booked my reservation on Resy and made sure that I chose the option that I was celebrating my Birthday during this dinner. It gave me a few options for where I wanted to be seated. I saw: Dining Room, Outdoor, and Al Fresco Patio. I found this restaurant on TikTok and was enamored by the view from this rooftop. I wanted to make sure I booked the correct spot, so I looked up "Dante Al Fresco Patio" in Google just to make sure. From the Google photos, it looked about right, so I booked the Patio. When I arrived, I realized that I made a mistake on the seating I chose. We arrived and greeted the hostess. I took a video of the dining room because it looked absolutely beautiful with the view in the background. The hostess grabbed menus and took us to the opposite side where the pool is. This shocked me since I thought I booked the right spot. I asked, "Did I book for this side?" with a concerning tone, and she just said "Yes". I was immediately upset because of this mistake, but I did not want it to ruin my night. I do wish the hostess was less dismissive as I did look visually upset about this. We went on to order our appetizer, the Tuna Crudo. It came out great. It was delicious, so I had high hopes for the food. I thought that the food would make up for the fact that the poolside was a completely different vibe that I wanted for my Birthday dinner. It was definitely a more casual vibe. We didn't feel that our waitress was very attentive to us. After our appetizer, we had to wait a minute to put in our orders for the entrees. Meanwhile, a party next to us sat of 2 white women. They got all of their food quickly and one of them even ordered the same entree as me. My boyfriend ordered the Steak Frites. It came out first and my Bucatini came out maybe 15-20 minutes after. At this point, my boyfriends food was basically cold. We also had to remind the waitress that we requested another bottle of still water. It upsets us seeing other people who are not of color be shown so much attention when we did not receive the same. After we finished out dinner, the waitress asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. I remembered that I wanted to try the Carrot Cake, so I ordered a slice. At this point I was upset that my birthday was never acknowledged during the entire dinner. There shouldn't be an option on Resy to select your birthday is the occasion if it won't be acknowledged. We then waited over 15 minutes for my slice of cake. I'd assume all they had to do is cut a slice and add garnish, but it took forever. My boyfriend went to the counter and requested the check if the cake wasn't going to come. At that point, the waitress apologized and took off the service charge as well as the cake price. I shouldn't have gotten a free cake because it took forever to come, I should've gotten a free slice because it was my birthday. The entire time, I couldn't wait to leave the establishment and go home. It ruined my night since this was supposed to celebrate my birthday. I had such high expectations being that this is an upscale restaurant. I had a terrible experience. With the experience aside, the Tuna Crudo was amazing, the Bucatini was underwhelming, the Steak Frites were pretty solid, but I will never go back. The 1 star is for the Tuna Crudo. read more
