Went to Zinqué over the weekend with my girlfriend and niece, and it reminded me why I keep coming back. This was probably my third visit, and I always order "Le Bowl" -- it hits the spot every single time. This visit, I also tried the iced hojicha latte (basically a toasted matcha latte) and OMG... absolutely amazing. What really made the experience stand out was our server. I can't remember his name, but he was so warm and joyful. Every time he came to the table, his smile and energy were infectious. Zinqué is also one of the better reasonably priced options at Century City if you want something nicer than the food court without spending a fortune. They don't have a dedicated kids menu, but they were still able to accommodate my niece and she was very happy with her meal. Overall, such a great experience yet again. read more

Came here on Memorial Day to celebrate my bestie's birthday and upon arrival there was no hostess (FYI I've been here countless times and am used to getting seated) so we had to flag someone down to ask and was told to sit anywhere and order via QR code (which I thought was new since I never had to do this before) so we did. Regarding service, it took about 10-15 mins for just our drinks to come out and while waiting, we asked our server if they have birthday freebies and someone named Josh said they have something special they could do. Our food order came out within 20ish mins and we had to ask for utensils but they only gave two pairs (there's four of us but we just made do since we were starving). I've always liked the food at Zinque, and the ambiance has always been a cool vibe. However, the problem was when our server (not Josh but another guy) brought out a nice, small piece of cake with ice cream and candle, and then immediately whipped out a card reader and proceeded to charge us for it (INCLUDING THE CANDLE!). We tried to contest it and let them know we weren't told there would be a charge and our server blatantly looked at us and, with a callous attitude, said "we can discount it but that's the best we can do." I understand that the restaurant may have been short staffed today but I don't think that should excuse the poor service (especially since I've received excellent service here plenty of times in the past!). It's been a hot minute since I've had such a disparity between excellent food and poor service, but here I am. Zinqué was a real mixed bag. I'll start with the good. The hostess was super- nice and promptly seated me. My main entree was actually quite spectacular. I had Le bowl and it was a five star dish. I could eat it every day. I chose the option with the frittata and it was the best frittata I've ever had. The forbidden rice with the spicy mayo and the cheese harmonized very well with the arugula. Yes. This is an excellent dish- definitely try this if you want something on the lighter side. The atmosphere is also very nice. It's a chic restaurant and has a sophisticated atmosphere. Now the bad- after I was seated by the hostess the waiter took my order. It was the driest exchange and I really felt like something was up, like maybe he was checked out. Well, after my food was brought out, I was in the middle of eating and I saw my waiter leave for the day. He was wearing a jacket, hat and carrying a backpack. He totally bailed on me with no handoff. I waited a while. No one checked on me. I kept looking at waiters assisting other tables, no one noticed me. I was totally abandoned. Annoyed; I saw a QR Code on the table and it was a portal to order more items. My tab wasn't even searchable. I finally got up and went to the bar to let the bartender know that I had not been checked up on, and that I had seen my waiter leave the building like 20 minutes ago. He apologized and said that he got cut because it was slow, and another waiter heard this and met me at the table so he could take my dessert order. But the damage was done. The berry crumble was okay, but I was already pretty turned off by this place. I was so disappointed how such a promising meal took a complete nosedive. The lack of a handoff is what really irritated me. The waiter totally left and it's like I couldn't believe he was just walking out the door without telling anyone. If it was so slow, how did I fall through the cracks? I had tables on both sides of me that got waited on and it's like I was a ghost. Zinqué had great food (well, Le bowl at least), a kind hostess but the actual experience was bad. I can only think of one other time in my life where I was totally forgotten about like this. Zinqué is one of my favorite places to take a break while shopping at Westfield Century City. I stopped in for happy hour and was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the prices were. I ordered the salmon over wild rice with an Aperol spritz and sat on the patio, which was especially nice on a sunny afternoon. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I'd happily bring friends from out of town here for lunch or happy hour, or just stop in after shopping. I'll definitely be back for the patio, the atmosphere, and the happy hour. read more

After doing a little bit of shopping I had some time to waste before my next event. So my friend and I stopped here for drinks and fries to nibble on. They have indoor and outdoor seating (I recommend outdoor if it's a nice day out). We came on a Wednesday early evening and to my surprise it was not crowded at all. No wait. We walked in and sat at the bar (bar is open seating). The bartender was very pleasant and attentive. He made really good drinks! They have a few specials and they also have happy hour. Although I only ordered fries, the guy next to me ordered a burger and it was big and looked yummy. He ate every bite so I assume it was good lol. I only go here for the drinks, have never tried the food hence the reason for the 4 stars. Other than that, customer service is exceptional for the two times I have visited this restaurant bar, the drinks are amazing and always taste so yummy! The ambiance is very cool during the day AND night! So glad me and my sister ended our lovely day here a couple weeks ago because it definitely put the cherry on top! Zinqué is unique where the food is 5 stars but the service is between 2 and 3 stars. For starters, it is really weird how during the week I think before 4 pm (not totally sure), there are no servers and it's all self ordering. The disappointing part is that most of the time, there's no one at the front booth to welcome you and let you know. You just have to sit down, be let down with no server coming, ask around, and find out. The first time I came, there was a server for my table (like a normal restaurant), but the next time there wasn't, so I was really confused. You can order at the table via QR code or at the bar, but due to lack of good wifi you're better off ordering at the bar. At the bar, the people there are really hit or miss. There's two guys that are really nice and friendly, paying attention, but then there is this girl who is just talking and laughing with another coworker barely paying attention. It's a weird vibe. No one tells you about getting your own water, etc. Now the positive part, the food is delicious. Great menu with various sweet and savory dishes that are satisfying and nice plating. It is also good value for what you get, there are some healthy options that taste great, like the Le Breakfast Bowl, which is my go to. Avocado, burrata, poached egg, quinoa, bread, radish, salad, etc, super diverse plate which I love. I add chicken, which is so moist and soft; it is rare that chicken on the side isn't dry. The burger is also amazing. However, there are some weird inconsistencies that lower the restaurant's tier level. The bread on the side is sometimes warm and toasted, sometimes cold. The banana bread sometimes comes warm sometimes not. The quinoa in the bowl is sometimes ice cold sometimes warm. They are small things, but it makes it obvious that there is not an emphasis on quality control and strict consistency, which is vital for nicer restaurants. I go back a lot, as the food is delicious, ambience is beautiful, and the pricing is pretty good for what you get. But I wouldn't come here looking for a good dining experience. Maybe when there are servers it is different, but they don't even advertise this properly. Great solo dining experience, though, since there are nice outdoor views. The service part is just a bummer, since I wouldn't love to enjoy a nice romantic date or big group gathering here. read more

My mom and I came by for brunch on a Tuesday and the food was delicious - can't speak much for service as the only interaction we had with an employee was ordering at the front . The seating wasn't all your traditional tables and booths but had some sofa or lounge chair seating as well. All the cocktails were discounted to $13 since it was happy hour. I wanted something less sweet so the server recommended the lychee martini. It didn't come with a lychee unfortunately but was quite tasty. The happy hour deal was tapas style where you could get 3 for flat price. I wasn't that hungry and opted for an entree instead. I got mussels and subbed salad for fries. I didn't realize the mussels came in a butter sauce which I didn't like, I prefer wine based sauces which are lighter and not as creamy. The mussels were a tad chewy which was surprising. We had our eye on this restaurant for a few weeks now. We were supposed to go to the downtown LA one but our event got cancelled so we moved it to the Century City location. Great location with a nice patio and lots of indoor seating as well. The food came out quickly and was fantastic. Going back for the food for sure. There are a few other dishes I want to try but if you are looking for a variety including something for everyone including vegetarians and vegans. This is the place for sure. The ambiance was nice, we loved all the plants and trees outside. The only complaint I have is that our service was lacking. Our waiter was not the friendliest, barely checked on us and never came back at the end. That was a bummer. Interesting French Fusion restaurant! I visited this restaurant on a Thursday night at the Century City Mall. It's located on the top floor of the mall near Chagee. My friend and I ultimately chose the outdoor seating since it was a nice day outside. The menu had a tapas menu as well has many unique items. My friend and I ended up ordering the deviled eggs, chicken wings, green lasagna, and roasted chicken. - The deviled eggs were good, but small for what you get. The 4 pieces of egg could equal 1 large egg it terms of volume. Not worth it for $11. - The chicken wings were crispy and juicy. They reminded me of standard chicken wings you could get at pizza places. It was covered in a spicy sauce with some blue cheese dipping sauce. I thought it was okay, but my friend really liked them. - The green lasagna was good, but not mind blowing. It was unique as it was green and contained many veggies. It reminded me of spinach ravioli. It tasted healthy. I wish the pasta was more al dente though. - The roasted chicken was pretty dry, not the best. The fries it came with were nice though. The service was good and the we had good conversations with the staff. They also have a private bathroom for customers. Unfortunately, they don't validate the expensive Century City Mall parking. Overall, a decent experience here. I like that they menu was very unique, but I wish the dishes were executed better. read more

I had a really great experience at Zinquè. The location is excellent and very easy to access, and one thing I really appreciated was the parking situation. In this area of Los Angeles it can sometimes be difficult to find parking, but here it was surprisingly convenient which made the whole visit much more relaxed from the start. The food was excellent. Everything tasted fresh, well prepared, and high quality. You can tell they pay attention to the ingredients and presentation. The menu has great options and everything we ordered came out flavorful and well balanced. The ambience is also very nice. The atmosphere feels lively but still comfortable, making it a great place whether you want to have a casual meal, meet friends, or just enjoy a good dinner in a good environment. Service was friendly and attentive as well, which made the overall experience even better. Overall this is a great spot with good food, good service, and a great location with convenient parking. Such an underwhelming restaurant. The atmosphere is cute but that's far as it goes. The food is mediocre at best. Nothing stood out. We had the prawns which were decent, I'd say the best of the bunch. The beef carpaccio was okay but you could tell not of great quality. Too much sauce accompanied this dish, probably to mask this issue. Mary's chicken entree, great, glad it's organic but my oh my was it bland. Sure, the skin had some flavor but the chicken itself.. seasoning is your friend with chicken. We opted for the ratatouille side, this was okay, I'd do it again versus a salad or fries. Salmon dish had nothing great to note. Steak fritte w peppercorn sauce. As my husband said while eating "they're supposed to rinse the caper" anyone with tastebuds could tell this was not properly prepared. Luckily it was cooked properly at medium rare, but again, not the best cut. Potato gratin was okay, but I've definitely had better. Unfortunately everything here seemed to lack that extra love and perfection that makes French food so wonderful. The service was not bad, they were quick. However, I did not like the way they just bring a QR code and lay it on your table while you're eating, with no added words to the party. We are at a restaurant the point is to provide a personable service and experience. It was also 100 degrees outside and all the doors a were open, which understandably is their aesthetic but in such high temperatures it made it nearly miserable to enjoy their time. Couldn't find a vent that would potentially be blowing some ac. Maybe a revamp would help this. Safe to say we won't be back! I've been to Zinque in Century City twice for happy hour. Pretty solid happy hour deals. Both times I went on weekdays and it was easy to get a table or sit at the bar. Their happy hour specials are quite good, as you can get any 3 of their happy hour food items for $24. You also can choose any of their wine priced $18 and under for $12. The food is overall well rounded I'd say and it's quite filling. The happy hour is restricted to the bar and high tables only so that may be a restriction depending on your party.
