I mean how cute is this bar we found in the city! Had dinner reservations in the area and decided to pop by here beforehand. The vibes of this place are so charming. Close to my hotel while I was in the city for work. Walked in at 2:30 and the bar was full but plenty of tables open. The Halloween decorations were AWESOME! It is a Saturday afternoon and they have pretty much every college football game on! I ordered a Oktoberfest beer and the burger. The Junction is a great sports bar where folks can gather, get to know one another in this fairly anonymous City, and let your hair down. I walked in just after Happy Hour ended and one seat was available at the bar. Nile, the bartender, directed me to the lone available barstool and that is where I spent the evening. The Mets were on both screens in the playoffs against the Brewers. People were drinking and the place sometimes became a bit raucous all the way to the back of the house. The bar is on the right side as you walk back to where table and booth seating is available. I ordered a Spaten Oktoberfest and a burger, medium rare, with grilled onions, cheddar, bacon and lettuce tomatoes. It comes with sliced pickles too and the accompanying fries were excellent. The burger was great too. They offer different cheeses as an extra and cooked it to the medium rare temperature I desired,accommodating my request for grilled onions, something simple you cannot always achieve or without being charged for it. No complaints whatsoever. I later ordered a Guinness on tap, the only way in my book. It was a coup de grace, with a lovely and creamy head the way it should be poured. It was a lovely cap to an evening where I can see a person new to The Junction would return and become a regular. The bathroom was clean too. Non happy hour total came to $45, before tip. That's reasonable in today's market. In a City where service is becoming less personable and attitudes have become more take it or leave it, this was a welcome scene and worthy of return visits. I can understand why one would become a regular here at The Junction. This is not fancy fare, but what they do, they do it at a four star level! read more

A little bit later, I felt hungry again and ordered the spinach-artichoke dip which had chunks of artichoke with lots of spinach and accompanied by warm pita triangles and crispy garlic crostini. I had a great time watching the Patriots game here. The lady behind the bar was very friendly and made people feel welcome. I enjoyed eating the chicken and waffles. Okay place for Trivia with standard pub fare. Came here for their Tuesday trivia and to hang out with friends. Trivia itself was fine but not very interactive. It consisted mostly of reading the TV and filling out polls on our phones. Not bad by any means, but have been to been more interactive and varied trivia nights. We just wanted something to pick at, but this place really delivered beyond our expectations. My son swears his Shirley Temple is the best he's ever had and I have to say- I felt the same way about my habanero margarita. I ordered a crock of veggie chili and he had a plate of tater tots. Both were fantastic. The tots were NOT greasy, perfectly golden, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The veggie chili was served with tri-colored tortilla chips.
