The atmosphere is completely charming and adorable. Very old-school, Southern charm vibes. The food is always delicious and they serve fairly large portions for a super reasonable price! You definitely get your money's worth. I've been 3-4 times now for lunch, and the only thing I don't love about it is that the staff isn't typically the friendliest or most attentive. Our server Sarah we had once was great, but the folks who greet you when you first come in always make us feel like we are an inconvenience or like we shouldn't be there. Kind of weird. Beautiful establishment. Came for dinner. Was greated by a lovely young lady and she escorted us up the elevator to the top floor. We were quickly seated into a quaint and cozy corner table. The waitress lit up the little lamp in the center of the table. That adds a bit of ambiance. The waitress was very friendly and helpful with her suggestions. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. We decided to have a nice Friday night dinner out somewhere and I have been seeing Facebook posts in my feed about the restaurant. We made reservations ( not really needed that night ) They have just begun their Holiday Decorations. We walked around the lobby a bit and then were taken up the elevator to the restaurant. It was a little loud ( basically two couples at the bar talking over each other, lol ). We had a fabulous meals. Salmon and a steak. Great service from Katelyn and on the way out, were looking around at the old furniture and one of the owners, Diana, took us on a tour of some of the rooms and gave us a bit of a history lesson on the place. We had the BEST experience at The Mongolia Hotel Restaurant in Foley! From the moment we walked in, the owner and her husband were greeting and seating every guest with such genuine warmth. The entire Hotel and Restaurant is decorated beautifully for the Christmas holidays--absolutely magical and picture-perfect. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious, and every entrée even came topped with a gorgeous edible flower. Our 3-year-old grandson requested a hamburger steak and shrimp (yes... together!), and to our surprise they happily made it happen as one entrée. The only downside? Now he thinks McDonald's should deliver the same service--bless it. They truly spoil you here and make you feel right at home. Even though the property is elegant and upscale, don't hesitate to go if you feel underdressed--once you arrive, you'll realize how welcoming and relaxed the atmosphere is. After your meal, sit for a bit on the beautiful front porch, then make a wish at the stunning water fountain around back. It's such a special touch. Love this historic hotel. Stepping back in time. We ate there on New Year's Eve. Wonderful welcoming hospitality by the owner. Dinning room was lacking in any ambiance. Looked more like a banquet room. We ordered alcoholic beverages before dinner. My martini a tad dirty was un drinkable. Too much dirty! Asked for lime got lemon. Took 30 minutes to get the lime. They have a bar but more bar stools to sit at the bar. I think the servers make the drinks so not actually bartenders. That might be because we notice on NYE not many tables had ordered alcohol. Salads were good. I ordered steak mid and it was purple raw. Sent it back and while I wanted the other 3 members of our party finished their meals. I order the dessert to go and the beignet was so delicious!! So definitely go try it out. They serve lunch and we'll be back to try that! read more

I had the 10oz filet and it was great! A "King Kong" sized hunk of happiness cooked to perfection. My caesar salad and steak fries were equally delicious. My wife had a grilled steak and mushroom fettuccini Alfredo, which she raved about-it was such a large portion she brought half home for another meal. We did not stay at the hotel, but we did have dinner at the restaurant. The owner of the hotel met us at the front door and took us on a little tour of the home. The home is spectacular. The chandeliers, the woodworking, and the furnishings were all unbelievable. We were seated in the downstairs dining room and were fortunate enough to have Sarah as our server. What a delight she was. I had the fillet and my wife had the grouper with crab meat and both were outstanding. I recommend that you save room for the beignets stuffed with apple and peach. I walked in the hotel entrance only to be warmly greeted and escorted to the bar where I planned to dine alone. Had wonderful service, friendly staff and even met the owner Diane! (Friend if a friend) I enjoyed my meal and met one of the musicians that would be playing that night in the adjoining room. Surprising to find out after I arrived and was introduced to by a server who happened to be kin to the owner. (I think that is correct) as I finished up- I got to take my leftovers home and walked over to enjoy the band and watch the others dance the night away! I came here last weekend for my 40th birthday, and let me tell ya - I had a meal I will never forget. It's such a charming little spot, and the host showed us some really cool relics and took us on a mini tour. Loved seeing the cat hanging by the pool! We started the meal with crab claws and fried green tomatoes, and they both were legitimately perfect. I got grilled triggerfish with crab meat and split that and my SIL's salmon with dill sauce between the 2 of us. Caesar salad and okra were a dang delight. Our server, Sarah, was so personable and lovely and made jokes with us throughout our meal. Top notch service. She brought me a peach/strawberry cream beignet for my birthday treat, and I'm telling you, I will never stop dreaming of that delicately creamy confection. We had a late lunch at The Hotel Magnolia today and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious! We were with a group of about 20+ senior citizens and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. The service was stellar. We were served by Sarah, who was personable, energetic, efficient and knowledgeable about food and bar offerings. The building itself was beautiful and well-decorated. Everyone was inviting and pleasant, from start to finish. Definitely a five star experience. Here's a tip: Order the appetizer, fried green tomatoes with the accompanying remoulade sauce. Never fails to delight and please! We love Sarah and Bubba. Excellent bartenders and host/hostess!!! The steaks (ribeye, prime rib, filet) are all excellent and cooked to your liking. The sides, my favorites okra and creamed spinach, are also ever so tasty!!! My personal favorite is the salmon, but last week the triggerfish did not disappoint. This has become my favorite place to eat in Foley! The sirloin is exactly what a steak should be - thick and tender and cooked to perfection. The tuna is likewise delicious. I recommend the peach beignet for dessert.
