My wife and I have been trying different hamburgers throughout the area. We had a couple that use to be our go to, until we tried Southern Bayou Grill. My wife got just the cheeseburger and it was fantastic, exploding with flavor from the two patties. Cooked to your request. I had the Sioux Burger and I have to say the same. I was full after eating half of it. The Sioux had slaw, gravy, and your normal burger condiments. It was fantastic. The crinkle fries are awesome. Service was good. Only took 15 minutes for them to have them ready. We did these to go. The inside has a few tables and it's cozy. There is also outdoor seating. The food is amazing! As is the customer service! The prices are also fantastic! We haven't had anything bad here. We have ate here three times and been satisfied every time. The only small complaint we would have is the salt content in the dishes (red beans & rice, crawfish etouffee and jambalaya specifically) is very, very high! They taste very delicious of course but this would be our only negative opinion. The low country boil / shrimp boil is awesome! Cheeseburger was great. They definitely have a good thing going here. Holy wow - talk about being surprised! We stopped here on a whim and tried several things. This is one of those joints where apparently no matter what you order, it's gonna be top tier. Literally down to the roll, it was some of the best food I've ever had in my life. I was just not expecting that walking in. From what we ordered, the catfish and red beans n rice were my favorites. Hidden treasure in Fairhope! Fun and funky spot you just have to stop at when passing through the area. Catfish basket was great, the green beans are like nothing you have ever tried. They cook them on a flat top grill with bacon. Solid red beans and rice. My team got the jambalaya and were very pleased. Good spice and flavor all around. Definitely stopping again when I'm back in town. read more

We're not from the area but wanted something local.... Found this on Yelp and decided to give it a try. On the way into town we passed all these fish houses with tons of cars out front and began to wonder if I had errored. But we powered on and as we pulled up we found just this little shack place. But as we walked up we quickly realized this is exactly what we wanted. Local feel of a family run place, friendly decor with no pretense.... Only to be followed by great food. I had the seafood gumbo, son shrimp poor boy, wife had rice and beans with a side of hush puppies. Roles were light and fluffy... super satisfied. I did get the slaw, and I would not get that again, couple be a local tast thing. But everything else was spot on. Lady next to us had the burger and she was also super happy. So my recommendation is to give these guys a go... it's the type of places I like to support. read more

If you be want good gulf coast seafood at its finest this place is a must. Small and quaint for sure but so worth stopping in. The red beans and rice, crawfish etouffee, catfish, shrimp and lastly white chocolate bread pudding were legit so freaking good! I wish I had thought to take pictures. Really good food! read more

Service was great; kind, courteous, knowledgeable. The food is fantastic! West Bank Catfish, the catfish was well-seasoned and hot, right out of the fryer, perfectly crispy and flaky. Not greasy at all. The étouffée over the catfish and rice was very tasty. Also, sampled the Jambalaya. It was good, flavorful and full of meat. Last but not least, the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. Real honest down home Cajun/creole food. Tiny place but nice outdoor seating. Owner chef comes around and you never know when you will get some lagniappe.. My only issue is some dishes are reserved for dinner time not lunch.. So come back for dinner too.. read more

The first time I ate here when they first opened, the food was fantastic. The fried catfish filets were nice size and good portions. The second time I ate here the catfish was definitely not the same quality and size of strips were small and not the same at all. Quality and consistency are the key to success for any business, especially a restaurant. They will be hard pressed to make it around here if they can't make their food consistently good. read more
