Absolutely delicious Hawaiian fare! We three recent Hawaii transplants ordered takeout from here, and it was spot on. Juicy, flavorful chicken, delicious rice, cabbage, and seriously perfect Mac salad. The musubi was on point, the fish tacos and prawn tacos combined flavors and textures just right, and the fish and chips for my keiki was some of the best I've ever had (thank goodness they didn't eat it all)! My food was ready in 25 minutes for takeout during the dinner rush, perfectly reasonable. They've got Hawaiian food nailed down, and I plan to eat there whenever I can. Just...wow! You know how some places you can just feel the love when you walk in? That's this place. Warm, free-spirited atmosphere. The owner is friendly & strikes the perfect note of paying attention to you, and letting you peacefully dine. His kids work alongside him. And I always appreciate a family business. Now...the food...AMAZING! Creative menu. FRESH fish. That Panko fried fish & SPECIAL TARTAR SAUCE!!! I just can't say enough. And as I was sitting there, I couldn't help but have this feeling that the owner should keep going...expand on the empire (brewery? But even that feels stale. Something fresh. Bottled Mai Tais? Service and food made my day! Molokai salad was fresh and well balanced with herbs and veggies. The chowder was hearty and hot with big chunks of seafood. The Korean beef taco was complex and huge. This restaurant is very good. The sushi is amazing, the burger is amazing, even the drinks in the ice cooler are amazing!! ( Highly recommend the lychee juice in the ice cooler) the people are really nice and reason make you feel comfortable and happy. Absolutely fantastic sushi and I eat ALOT of sushi. The food portion of the review is only for sushi. This place was crowded on a Friday night. The only place I've had to wait in Florence, but only 20 minutes. It's got a Hawaiian vibe. Surfing and underwater diving videos on the TV. It's an eclectic menu. I ordered scallop and hamachi nigiri and a roll w tuna and mango. The presentation is beautiful!! And the sushi was super fresh. Great combination of flavors vs fish slapped on rice and large portions! Add edamame and sake and it was the perfect meal. Will definitely go back!! read more

This is a relatively new Hawaiian restaurant It is great. I wish our home town and any town had this restaurant with great environment from the music to the decorations to the servers. Incredible food! Sushi includes California rolls with a real crab option, which are worth the modest extra cost. The pork is great Hawaiian style ; the tacos are great and everyone who didn't want sushi or Hawaiian dishes looked very happy with the burgers or the salads. The passion fruit margarita with a lychee skewer was fantastic. Only wish they had not run out of desserts. What an interesting and fun place. It is small and there is not a lot of room between tables, so it you are looking for a quite dining nook this is not the place to go. There is a great selection of appetizers and drinks, so try something new. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. There is seating outside, but it is very close to Hwy 101 so I'm sure it could be noisy at times. I did not try the sushi, but a friend and I ordered different lunch-type plates and shared them. Delish! It was a little pricey for me, but I'm not rolling in dough. My friend found it reasonable. I certainly want to go back and try other items. ** The parking leaves a lot to be desired. This location is adjacent to a motel. Most of the parking spots belong to them. Even without the construction that is going on now, this location has always had a parking problem. However, there is ample parking on the side streets around the corner. read more

I had a smile on my face the whole time my sister and I were in here! The atmosphere is awesome, the music is Hawaiian and the food & service were great! Hanna was a wonderful waitress and offered suggestions when we were having trouble deciding between a few things. She was very friendly and had a smile on her face every time she checked on his. We went there because it was written up in the Register Guard. Service was poor. Had to ask for napkins and silverware AFTER the food was served. Took over 30 minutes to get our order, after we placed it. My husband had the Maui Wowie. It was just ok----14.95 for 6 pieces. I had the Curry chicken. Price on menu was 16.50. When I look at the bill after paying it stated 18.95. She said it was a menu change. Not fair to change the prices on the bill from the prices shown on the menu. They did honor the menu price. I will give them that. Both my husband an myself became SICK with nausea and gurgling stomachs a few hours after. The food tasted bad. Especially the macaroni salad. I only had one bite then asked my husband to taste it. He said, "if I were you, I would not eat that." I didn't eat any more. Just enough bad food in each bite to make us both sick for the rest of the day. They are diffidently off our list. The curry was more like a gravy served over partly cooked big hunks of carrots and potatoes. Not good at all. Sorry folks. read more

We walked in during the middle of a busy lunch we were greeted with a big smile from the chef, had great service all the way through our lunch checking back with us several times , food and drinks far above the quality one usually receives on the coast. This is more of a Hawaiian restaurant than a sushi restaurant. The Hawaiian food is delicious, though there tends to be a really sweet sauce on most of the dishes that I'm not into. The sushi is mediocre-- a lot of mayo and sauce--and not very traditional. The sushi rice is mushy. I ordered a ten piece nigiri and three of the ten were disappointingly roe! The sushi is also very expensive; about $15 for a basic roll and $19 for a special roll. Portions are large and servers are friendly. read more

We were very lucky that we stepped in this restaurant for lunch on our first trip to Florence. The taste is very nice. We ordered the Hamachi Kama which is very nice and was the special of the day. The sashimi hamachi is very fresh as well. We definitely will come again next time. read more

Have eaten lunch here several times and it was good. Had the cheeseburger once and the fish tacos another time. Went tonight (before 5pm) and was told we could only eat at the sushi bar or a very high chaired table. All other tables were "reserved." Even though there were outside tables available, we weren't offered one. We certainly weren't made to feel very welcome and left. read more

As a chef it is great to have great food and service. I very rarely review or rate restaurants but you could tell from the outside and right when you walked in that the food and dining experience was meant to be great. Also the sushi looked amazing (didn't try any) but the Pele chicken was great and fresh, also the Hawaiian catch was great and my 2 kids enjoyed the pineapple chicken. The spam musubi was killer. Good food, friendly staff. They were really accommodating of me being vegan and were able to make some adjustments to fit my diet, which was very nice of them. I cannot say enough great things about this place. the spot is is obviously the best place to grab a bite to eat at a reasonable price in Florence Oregon, which is not much of a choice in the first place for food but if only these guys were at Bend Oregon where me and my girl friend were visiting from I would go there any day and we have a lot of great places to eat around here. They have an excellent sushi bar that again is totally more than worth the bang for your buck.
