Love the "bean" served atop my coffee. Good brew, wide variety, quick service and friendly staff. Everything we expected and more.

As a long time customer I'm a little disappointed to have to post this. Today I went through the drive through and ordered 2 drinks. The girl with the headset on (brown hair with two braids) was making our drinks. Since she had the headset on I know she also took our order. When she handed me our drinks the medium iced brûlée late was a large and the 32 oz Nutty Irishman granita was a medium... I told her she reversed the drinks.. she took the drinks and said she would remake them. She went towards the back and pretty quickly returned with the proper order....the only issue is she didn't make the espresso at the front as usual.... She has made mistakes on our orders before and seemed ticked off.... I find it confusing that she actually took our order and made it wrong... it wasn't busy and I'm a little confused about the entire experience. read more

This place is usually pretty good, and I've like all the drinks I've had so far. Went there this morning, to get an iced peppermint mocha like I have before, but this time was very disappointed. It tasted nothing like a peppermint mocha, was not the same! And when I asked if the could redo, the girl just added more peppermint syrup to it & the other girl working rolled her eyes! This location has become a local staple for me and my coworkers. We love the prices, the customizable options, and getting to know the baristas when there's time. I like when they ask "are you getting your Asiago Bagel today?!" Or they add Extra Sweet to my Bright Energy drinks and make sure it's done right. A few trips this past week were a bit lackluster (not adding flavor to drinks, giving me the wrong bagel, not toasting or warming the bagels given to me) and I thought maybe I was getting on their nerves and would scale back. read more

There energy drinks, OMG!! They're so addicting and will definitely satisfy your need for some caffeine. Tbh, I may never buy another energy drink from the gas station again now that I've found this little gem. Also, there Bacon Gouda and Egg Breakfast Sandwich is to die for!! WAY better than Starbucks. We used to frequent here but stopped coming since I felt the quality of the service has gone down. I decided to try again, mostly because it was requested by my son, and I was left disappointed again. It was 630ish in the morning and pretty chilly out. I went to the window (not drive through) so I could view the menu and share the info with my son. Not only was I left waiting at the window for about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment, greeting, or a "we'll be with you shortly" but I ended up placing an order via DoorDash while waiting at the window, I left the Human Bean and arrived at my work in SLO by the time my order was delivered to my house for my son. If you're busy and/or even short staffed, you still need to learn to manage ALL of your customers. There are way to many competitors in the area now to have poor customer service. read more

I've been there twice. First time ok, although nothing special about the coffee. Second time my coffee was, at best, lukewarm. Kind of tough to return to the counter to get it fixed when it's a drive through and you're back on the road before you take a sip. BTW, I bring my own thermos coffee cup so no heat loss there. I ordered a medium iced Mexi Mocha with oat milk, one shot, and it is DELICIOUS. My hubby ordered the same, but hot, and his first reaction was, "Oooh!" High praise coming from him. :-) He also ordered one of their bagel breakfast sandwiches with sausage, and gives it a thumbs up; - Perks: they have an app allowing $2 off next purchase and accumulation of reward points, so we're going to jump on that since it's pretty clear we will be back. Someone referred me to the Human Bean for good coffee. I'm glad they did, I been there twice, I'm not much of a coffee guy but this was sure pretty good, needed it to help me wake up and drive back to Santa Maria. It's kind of cute they give you this little bean chocolate on top of the cup. So far I had ordered a bagel sausage cheese n egg bagel and a peanut butter cookie, not bad. Associates are really nice and helpful. For coffee hit this place up, traffic isn't too bad to get in and out compared to Starbucks. read more

Easy to get to. We ordered a hot vanilla latte and an iced vanilla latte. It will get us down the road. My husband liked the candy espresso beans on the lids. The menu board was broken and we didn't get to see any options. Wouldn't make this a regular coffee stop though. read more

The customer service here continues to impress. The baristas seem to love their job and appreciate their customers. The wait is always short and the drinks have been amazing. Have tried the coffee drinks both iced and hot as well as the smoothies and both have been great. I noticed on my last trip that they have a Happy Hour special between 5 and 7pm on medium drinks! Great deal. The driveway entrance and exit are a little sketchy, but I will do what it takes to get a good drink served with a smile. read more

I want to like this place because it is in a convient location and the staff is nice but unfortunately the drinks here just taste bad to me. I've visited a few times and tried something new every time. The only drinks that are edible to me here are ones that are unsweetened or very lightly sweetened. Their coffee itself is good, I've ordered an unsweetened cold brew with heavy cream because my friend recommended it and it was fine. Also their Irish Cream Breve also tasted fine to me because it was not sweetened very much. I think the problem is that whatever sweetener they use has a very strange flavor. It makes all of the drinks taste odd and unappetizing. I normally love a sweet coffee drink, but all of the sweet coffee drinks here are a hard pass for me. Unless they change their recipes here, I will be sticking to Malibu Brew for my local Atascadero coffee shop. read more

Came by on whim last week. I was pleasantly at their wait time - despite a line of about 6 cars- my order was taken and my drink delivered in under 5 minutes. The staff were friendly- cheerful and helpful. Unfortunately the drinks that left a lot to be desired. We ordered a Salted caramel hot and a caramel mocha ice both with an added espresso shot. Both drinks Im sure had potential but the espresso was bitter with a burnt taste. We got a few muffin tops also and even for prepackaged muffins they were pretty unappetizing. We ended up throwing the whole order away. I see so many positive reviews so perhaps my situation was a one-off. read more

I could do without the chocolate egg - sweet but I don't want something melting on lid nor care for unwrapped candy during a pandemic. And the lattes - it's more like coffee with milk, espresso is weak and there's no foam :( read more

I hate to complain because I do love this place. But I went to do a window order and sat there for over 10 minutes. The girl working clearly saw me, I finally knocked on the window asking if she was going to take my order. She told me she isn't doing window orders due to the drive thru. I understand she was the only one working at the time but she should of let me know asap not walk past me several times for over 10 minutes. I feel they need more help / have more people working , or at least have a sign for people that they're not doing window orders as this was a huge waste of time. I usually do drive thru but was having my car get fixed across the street . I hope this just helps solve the issues for future customers . read more

I'm really happy to see a new drive-thru coffee shop come to Atascadero. Not only is it in a great location, it's so easy to maneuver through their parking lot and drive-thru lanes. Their menu is informative without feeling cluttered and it gives you a lot of options at great prices. My go-to is their chai latte. Hot, cold, I don't care, it's delicious! My boyfriend loves their pumpkin pie latte and orders it every time we stop by. The customer service makes this place memorable. Drinks are made efficiently and it's always lovely to have a bit of small talk with the cashier. Today there was a small blunder with my chai latte, you are not able to get a 32 ounce chai latte hot. It has to be cold. Which is okay in my book, their chai latte is good hot or cold and I was just happy with how professional they handled everything. I definitely plan on coming back again especially now that I know where to get my chai latte fix. read more

Very disappointed. I needed a pick me up and my coworker had mentioned we should go support our local businesses because of the pandemic. I remembered driving past this new coffee shop and we had to stop and try it. The prices aren't on the menu. When I got to the window I was told my total and I was shocked. It's over priced and you don't get a lot of coffee. I ordered a 20oz cappuccino and the person taking my order had asked me if I wanted it wet. I'm like "wet?" She said if I wanted more foam or coffee. I said more coffee please. OVER $5 later and i was very disappointed to learn it doesn't come sweetened and it's very bitter.
