This place has incredible breakfast, servers, and a beautiful patio. We order the Tahos with carnitas, French toast, and classic two eggs with bacon and hash browns. Haven't been to this restaurant for some time and we were headed to Paso. Went on a Saturday and were able to be seated in about 5 minutes. Our server was Taylor and she and the others kept my excellent coffee filled and my husband's water. We sat inside as it was still rather cold outside. I had the 1/2 of waffle with fruit, one egg and one sausage, perfect. I usually have leftovers but not this time. My husband asked if they could make a carnitas omelette with pepper jack cheese and Taylor said yes. He also got fruit and wheat toast. The only downside was to use the restroom, you go outside walk a ways then have to go up stairs. My husband didn't like that. Also they have a large menu and lots of specials. read more

Solid brunch spot in Atascadero! Just be prepared to wait if you go on the weekend. Pro tip: bring cash to save 4% on credit card fees My friend and I came by the Saturday of Mother's Day weekend and it was packed! We arrived around 11 and was quoted a wait time of ~20 minutes, which ended up being fairly accurate. They have a large waiting area with plenty of tables and seating, so the wait went by pretty quickly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated indoors, but from what I glimpsed of their patio seating, it was cute. The menu is huge and there's a large variety of both brunch and lunch options. There's a sign in the waiting area that mentions charging an extra 4% for credit card payments, but I really appreciated that both the cash and credit card prices are listed on the menu so it's clear. I went with the biscuit benedict for $18, and my friend got the florentine benedict for $18. Both our dishes came out quickly. Portions were huge and the food was solid. The gravy is really rich, so I couldn't finish all of the biscuits + gravy. My friend really enjoyed his benedict and especially the crispy tater tots. We really enjoyed our meal here. I really enjoyed the funny decor they had all over the restaurant. The staff are silly and you can tell they enjoy being there. Our server was great about recommendations. I ended up with the California Benedict but substitute the muffin for their biscuit. Their biscuits were a hit and my daughter was even picking off my plate. My only disappointment was the egg. One egg was barely runny and the other egg was fully cooked. The best part about eating a Benedict was slicing into the pouched egg and watching the yolk ooze out into the sauce. I didn't get that here. Aside from that, everything else was great. The breakfast burrito was huge and I loved the tater tots in it. There's also a whole outdoor area with a fountain. I come here for the tater tots!! Seriously. This is my breakfast go to when I want a solid tot. The folks who work there are always so friendly, and the menu is reasonably priced for breakfast. The only two reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars- 1. Sometimes the food is inconsistently seasoned- I always get the chicken fried steak and the gravy sometimes can be a bit bland, but seems to depend on the day. And 2. The parking situation is terrible, since it's in a medical building, and can be a little confusing. read more

Honestly one of my favorite spot for breakfast here in Atascadero. The Nest is a cozy restaurant right next to the post office, and has a pretty amazing & friendly staff. My partner and I have been coming here for quite awhile, though we'd often order take out since we live pretty close by. OKAY THE FOOD: I almost always order their omelettes or their California sandwich- they're pretty filling and honestly stuffed with veggies & meat. * The California sandwich is probably my favorite breakfast sandwich from here- there's plenty of spinach and thick strips of bacon that will leave you pretty dang full. * Papa Daddy Omelette; my favorite omelette here and I love that you can always add extra ingredients/ sides * You can always make your omelette into a skillet here If you're ever in town, I highly recommend this breakfast/ brunch spot. I love their salmon salad. Best in the north county. My only suggestion would be softer benches. I have a bad back and have to bring a pillow if I want to sit outside. The food here is absolutely delicious! The staff are incredibly friendly too, however you can tell they are very rushed because they get busy! And well deserved so, I can understand why they are so popular! It truly is the food that will have us coming back again and again. I had the PORK CHILE VERDE CHILIQUILES and the wife had the Italian Omelette. The place is very popular and the service is good but spread up bit thin perhaps. Very clean and upbeat atmosphere. I had hoped for an exceptional experience after reading the reviews however, I first ordered the flower tortillas and they had a slight odd sent of rancid oil. They happily replaced them with corn and I didn't notice it. I had the potatoes O'Brien and did not notice anything there either. However, after leaving, my wife told me that her hashbrowns also had a slight scent of old oil. I'm trusting this is not a recurring issue and thus giving four stars. A simple, super clean diner with plenty of seating indoor or out - my wife had the House Roast Beef sandwich that comes with sliced roast beef, Ortega chili, chipotle aoli and jack cheese on grilled sourdough - she said it was amazing. I opted for a basic breakfast - scrambled eggs, sausage patty and hash browns - all excellent. I will mention that the sausage patty was clearly not from a foodservice box or frozen - this was definitely fresh, hand-pattied and delicious. One biscuit & gravy in leiu of toast, which was also really good. Service was average - but they appeared to be short staffed so I have no problem being patient, especially since the food was so good. Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

The food was good, but the gravy needed a little more salt (which I added) and my husband said the tarter wasn't the best. My mango ice tea, however, was probably the best ice tea I've ever had! One of the best breakfast burritos we have had filled with eggs, cheese, your choice of meat and tater tots (which just adds extra deliciousness to the burrito)! We typically add bacon and avocado but took my friend here one time and she added chorizo and absolutely loved it! They have a wide variety of not only breakfast, but also lunch options for your foodie needs! There is ample indoor and outdoor seating and they are dog friendly, which is always any added plus! They recently added a new front patio seating, which reminds me of dining in a sunroom - it is just lovely. Parking can be a bit tough, especially on the weekends, as the parking lot is small and there is an Urgent Care located is located next door. Came here with a large party of 8 on Sunday morning and they were able to seat us relatively quickly, albeit in two different tables in the large outside seating area reminiscent of a small office park. The menu is extensive - yes still confined to one page for breakfast and one page for lunch. Dog friendly - in fact without prompt, they brought out a water bowl and treat for our dog. Coffee mug nice and large. Now for the food (after a bit of a wait): The Hangover Ground beef, mushroom, tomato, cheddar cheese, topped with white gravy I felt that I didn't encounter any tomatoes or cheese because the gravy partially coagulated and got in the way. Three eggs over easy adds up to a very full plate. I would have preferred a brown gravy here. Don't get me wrong, I liked this dish, but next time it won't be my first choice. Breakfast Burrito with sausage The sausage is homemade and fresh, appearing in crumbles. The eggs and side of fresh salsa are prepared just right. The secret to this magnificent burrito, however, are the crispy tater tots embedded into the burrito. It just works - the blend of flavors and differing textures and imagine that I didn't even go to the bacon this time. Other tastes: Chile Verde with Pork Slow burn green Chile heat is subtle and flavorful, dancing around tender chunks of pork. This dish sings it's character loud and clear - I don't even typically like Chile verde, but this one is special. Corned Beef Hash Crispy, not too salty and soft in the middle. Like the others, significant portion is more than most can handle. Biscuits and Gravy Upgrade for an additional $2 - its basically another full plate of warm, soft, fluffy biscuits drowned in white gravy. Again not a huge fan of the white gravy so I only was able to make my way through half a biscuit. Oscillated between 4-5 stars - ultimately their misses are too small (charging 4% for credit cards) to downgrade their excellent service (to dogs and people) and consistently high quality food. Whenever my family wants breakfast, we go to The Nest. It's usually poppin', but worth any wait, and I'm not a breakfast guy. You are greeted usually the minute you walk through the door. Service is always awesome and if they ever mess up, they make it good. They have seating inside, the enclosed patio, and outside in the back. I picked up breakfast for Mother's Day. I ordered 1 Pancake, Eggs Benedict Florentine and Potatoes O'Brien. The pancakes are always beautifully fluffy and huge. The Potatoes O'Brien were cooked perfectly, golden brown, light crunch, and fluffy in the middle. Seasoned perfectly with nice sweetness of grilled onion and little bite from the bell pepper. The Eggs Benedict Florentine were Soooooo Awesome! Eggs were poached to perfection, nice runny yolk and tight/firm egg. Toasted English Muffin and that beautiful, silky, lemony, bite, hollandaise sauce. The fresh tomato and spinach add a nice earthy, freshness.
