This restaurant is a hidden gem. The menu is extensive and they do allow you to order off the lunch menu at breakfast. The service personnel were very sweet and inviting. They accommodated everything we asked for. The decor of the exterior was like visiting a small themed park. And the interior decor was interesting to look at and felt clean and cozy. I loved my mimosa and my husband got the breakfast burger he said it was amazing. My teenager boy got the chicken fried steam and said it was crispy outside and super tender on the inside. My mom ordered a small pancake with an egg on top, it was perfect! I will be visiting again. The price point was a little higher than your average restaurant in this area, but considering they level of service, quality of food, and the comfort they provide its worth it. If you are trying to pinch penny's then hit up the local taco drive through and get a .99 Bean & cheese taco. read more

Their orange chicken and rice is what's for dinner today. It was new on the menu and is one of my new favorites here. The service is great and the staff is too. What a nice little country style restaurant tucked away in Somerset right off of Hwy 1604! Perfect ambiance. Top notch friendly and attentive service. Food was delicious and potions were great! My son had the chicken and waffles and he said loved the hollandaise sauce they put over the perfectly fried moist chicken. Y'all, the biscuits! I recommend this restaurant equally for the food, folks, and decor. You gotta see this place to believe it, inside and out. I call it native rustic, but lots to see here. Loved the canoeing bear. But very clean. Everyone we spoke to was friendly, nice, and helpful. It's a breakfast and lunch kind of place, with brekkie all day. A nice variety on the menu. Good omelette, burger, and breakfast sandwich. Large portions, so won't leave hungry. Good fries, but the hash browns could use some of the same seasonings. All cooked well and served hot. Drinks in huge glasses. Did I mention the biscuits? Light, fluffy, fall apart goodness. Next trip will get the biscuits and gravy just for those. What a great little restaurant Cactus Country Kitchen is. It's hard to believe that this little restaurant is in Somerset. Cute decor inside and out. The food is really good and homemade. I had the two eggs over medium which I'll have to say were a little on over easy side but we're still good. The hash browns were delicious, sausage and bacon along with a homemade biscuit made it a complete breakfast. I promise, you won't leave hungry. Now the breakfast I just described is called the pretty cowgirl on the menu. I would change the name next time the menu is done. Because that's silly. The meatloaf plate was disappointing meat was all one color resembled a frozen dinner and tasted the same ,was dry over salted as was gravy did not taste country style or homemade.(CK). My Ruben with frys was very good but was over salted as well , It was over sauced making it soggy (maybe serve sauce in a ramekin). Service was good. Was unsure if the small recessed area had three tables but only two were Useable , the third table was covered with unwrapped flatware and napkins , but even worse was a bus tub full of dirty dishes sitting on a broken chair , very unprofessional + the area was not set for service while customers waited for a table. After seating two at each sm table the manager removed the dirty dishes and broken chair to seat two paying customers. Good job!! customer space is not for work space. $$$ Decor from the outside to all interior screams country. We will be back and hope you monitor the chefs salt use. TY read more

The one time that we went there... three weeks after they open everything it was great. The food was hot tables were clean love their atmosphere insight and out. Plenty of parking I highly recommend this place. Their food kinda reminds me of Cracker Barrel . read more

The southern hospitality was pure & so kind. I felt like I was at my mom's house & she was cooking for me. The owner was so sweet & very helpful. The food was PHENOMENAL. I got the Club Sandwich, spouse got the Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs & baby got Pancakes. My sandwich was FRESH meat/produce, perfectly seasoned, melted cheese & toasted with the best choice of bread, sourdough! with a hint of butter taste & was not over done or undercooked. This was meal was easily 10/10. The Chicken fried steak and eggs looked amazing, I didn't try but spouse said it was super flavorful and crispy & most of all, fresh! This is a really cute local restaurant in a converted old home with Northwest koi Native American decor. Food is delish and NOT Tex-Mex. Owner/Chef Jackie is Culinary Institute trained and super nice. All the food is homemade and generous portions. I have had the chicken fried steak, the rueben sandwich (HUGE), the meatloaf and the bread pudding. This restaurant is still experiencing growing pains and hours of operation change frequently so call ahead.
