Handling your food barehanded after handling another customers money? Friggin gross!!!!!!!! This has been several times in a row of this happening. I will walk out of this place every time I don't see either hands being washed or gloves put on. This is in front of customers, don't want to think what's happening in the back :(. I am so angry. I have been coming here for over 25 years. This morning I took my patient here and as we were finishing I asked for a small cup of water so my 98 year old patient could take his meds. Needless to say she wouldnt even give him a half a cup in his empty coffee cup. It costs 1.50 for water..it is not about the money!!! It's the point...they lost a good customer today.. read more

Delicious fresh donuts with a quaint eat-in area. The lady who usually helps us is super friendly and doesn't get frustrated when my young children cant make up their mind picking out their donuts. Pretty darn good. The blueberry filled donuts have real, whole blueberries in them! So good, and fluffy with just the right amount of glaze. And none of them were greasy. Came down to Grants Pass for a memorial service.Stayed at La Quinta and walked the three or so blocks down to Jelly Donut at around 11PM on a Wednesday night.We walked up to the door and saw a help wanted sign for a baker.The doors were locked and lights turned down.The open hours said 4AM to midnight.We noticed someone in the back cleaning and knocked on the glass door.No response.All we could do is look in at the pastries and think what might have been.I was there a month prior with my sister's grandson at about the same time and we were able to get our donut fix.I raved about how good their pastries were and after a 5 hour drive I was really hoping to repeat my prior experience.So sad.Hope they find more help so they are open when they say they are. read more

Delicious donuts a must if you're in Grants Pass. Their donuts are on the thicker/denser side of donuts and anything glazed is pretty sweet so go plain if you don't like that. Standouts are their bear claws, apple fritters, and a coconut crusted bavarian cream filled donut. read more

Today my husband and i went in to jelly donut and was ordering well the boy that was working had a serious attitude also my husband asked what it would cost for a dozen and this cashier was being extremely rude saying i couldnt tell u exact price and that if we want a dozen we would have to wait while he rang up the group of ppl behind us even tho he wasnt through helping us. I had gotten a donut that he said had wiped cream in the center but it was not wiped cream it taste like butter cream cake frosting like. So i brought it back inside cuz there frosting doesnt look nor taste like the wipped cream, i have ordered wipped cream filled donuts there several times and this was definitely not the wipped cream i have always gotten there at Jelly Donut. The cashier told me that he doesn't know what to tell me and cant give me a refund nor did he even offer to replace with a different donut and so from now on i give a half star cuz of the horrible customer service and poor quality donut. Dont claim it to be something im sure you know it is not. I have gotten donuts twice from this place; the first time it was late at night as a spur of the moment type decision and the selection was limited. The gentleman behind the counter explained why and it made perfect sense. I certainly wasn't disappointed in my selections. The second time we went, it was mid morning and the selections were great! I had the opportunity to speak to the baker and the owner, and found the conversation pleasant and the donuts delicious (both times) and reasonable priced. They even let us know we could freeze the donuts and to just take them out a few hours before we wanted to eat them. This is one of my new favorite donut shop! I will be back again! read more

The lady behind the counter was sweeping the floor when we came in...came to the counter AND NEVER EVEN WASHED HER HANDS--grabbed a paper and a bag and started filling... $5.90 for 6. I think, WOW! about says it all. The Ladies at the Jelly Donut turn out the most delicious donuts we found in the valley & beyond! (And we love donutss) the maple twists dripped with a maple coating to die for! The apple fritter may make you cry and the cinnamon rolls are worth trading for your 1st born! AND, the donuts don't even look like your average donut. The twists aren't all EXACTLY the same size. It all looked homemade and tasted better than Mom ever imagined. After reading the comment by Kelly Childers, (posted 40w ago) I wish to add my grievance and report the situation of customer service has declined even more. My Mother-in-Law, my wife, my sister-in-law, including myself started The Jelly Donut in Grants Pass Oregon in February, 1989. The Death of my Mother-in-Law that operated the business for 20 years forced my Wife to sell The Jelly Donut to the present owner in 2009. Patti and Dan continued the preservation and reputation for the last 9 years, to my knowledge. I say this to report; On Thursday Evening, January 10th, 2019 (two weeks ago) I drove through Grants Pass from Olympia Washington, the area which we now live, and ordered 1 Dozen Donuts to go. Not being in the Donut business for over 10 years, I realize prices change and cost of living and prices for supplies raise and a price increase from $5 to $7 a dozen to $10 to $12 a dozen must be taken into an acceptable consideration. Not realizing though, now the price for 1 dozen Jelly filled or 1 dozen Maple/Chocolate bars are priced at a little over $16 ($1.35 each x 12), the Cinnamon Rolls, Apple Fritters and Specialties of course being much more of a price increase. After Choosing 6 Specialty Donuts, and 6 smaller priced donuts the Total price for the chosen dozen came to $33. I thought to myself, Mercy I should have stayed in the Donut Business as I handed the girl my Debit Card. All said and done my Sister-in-Law said that price does not sound right. I started putting pencil to paper and sure enough, the price should have been $8 cheaper. I approached the employee and explained the situation and she was new, (Only been working 6 days), but explained that she figured the price according to the chart on the register and was told to charge these amounts. Now I am trying to explain the prices on the menu board DID NOT coincide with the price being charged, she continued to apologize but that was the price she was told to charge. To my anticipated relief an Employee had just arrived during our dispute and I ask her if she could help us. She stated Yes, She was the Baker, so I explained the situation. She put pen to paper and told us the price was correct, $33. Again I explained that the 6 Specialty Donuts were $2.75 each but remaining 6 were $1.35 each. The Baker justified her fraudulent behavior by stating the dozen donuts is considered a Specialty Dozen ($2.75 each donut), because half of the dozen were Specialties. No Refund, No Return.
