I hate moving ... I hate packing and unpacking .... I just hate moving. This time, because I acquired so much heavy furniture, I decided to use movers. Who knew how hard that was going to be!!! I scoured Yelp for this, obviously :p And I mass messaged all the movers. A few replied back to me, some were unavailable for my move date .. including John and his crew. I thought I had secured a different company until at the last minute they emailed saying they couldn't do it. Adrienne had initially messaged me saying that the day I had wanted they were booked, but had offered other days. Which I couldn't take. I emailed John and Adrienne back a couple days later, thanked them and told them those days didn't work for me. To my complete surprise, John messaged me back saying that they had a cancellation for the day I wanted!! Hurray!!!! I was so relieved, it was a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders. John and his 3 man crew arrived at my place about 40 minutes early!! Efficient! They got ALL of my things in the truck in about an hour!! At my new place, because it's a condo, it took them a little longer getting things up the elevator and down the corridor. BUT!!! I wasn't complaining!! It seemed that they were getting things up quick in my opinion. They took great care in getting my belongings up to my new place. Loved that! Did I mention how fast they were???? After they had everything upstairs, one of the movers (Jay), mentioned my Heartagram tattoo. He said he was telling John about the group HIM (which the Heartagram belongs to) and John had no clue who they were .. but later claimed he was a total fan lol ... All that joking around was really great. It's how you know that everyone was comfortable. The awesome thing was after I gave him his check, he came right back and said he over charged me. How many people would be honest about something like that!! We tipped them big, these guys worked their ass off and deserved it. It ended up where my payment didn't go through because of my mishap. So I asked if he could pick up the payment instead, and I gave them cash. Embarrassing :/ Honesty, integrity, efficient, pleasant .... these guys are top notch and John is such an easy person to talk to. I wish I had thought to get them food and drinks :/ Next time!!! As luck would have it, I discovered "The Jonnzz Advantage" movers about two months ago as I was driving out of 909 Kapiolani Boulevard and their truck was parked moving out a Unit owner. I called out to them and John Southwell, the owner came over to my car and we briefly discussed his services. John gave me his card and I called him three weeks later. We scheduled an appointment on a Saturday morning for an estimate and he brought over 30 boxes for me to pack. John and his very professional and courteous crew arrived at the scheduled time and immediately began moving out all the packed boxes to my reserved elevator. My one bedroom condo was cleaned out in two hours and a half hours and moved to my new Penthouse in the same amount of time. I am 67 years old and have moved 8 times in my life to 4 different state using both local and long distance movers. Consummate professionals. Can't recommend these guys high enough. John came free of charge to check out my house and assess how much time it would take to pack it all up. On D day, his team was enthusiastic, incredibly hard working, careful with every item large and small, and extremely trustworthy. I couldn't be around for most of the packing and moving, or any of the house cleaning, and never had a single concern about leaving him around my stuff. And as far as utility goes, this is your one stop shop. He packed several truckloads worth of stuff, moved it, unpacked at the new apartment, detail cleaned a huge house, and carpet cleaned the whole thing as well. John Southwell and the Jonnzz Advantage team did an exceptional job in moving us last month from one condo to another in the Honolulu area. We'd been in the condo for 7 years and had accumulated quite a bit of stuff. We also had a lot of delicate artwork and wanted to be sure it arrived safely. John came out and did an estimate and their prices were quite reasonable. We had to change the schedule once and he worked with us cheerfully on rather short notice. Rather than just send a team out with a lead guy for our move - he came out himself and worked along side his team, as well as supervising their work. They exhibited a lot of attention to detail and all our goods and artwork arrived safely at the new pad. They were cheerful and good workers and we liked them so much we treated them to beers and pupus after the move. Also they provided a cleaning service for our condo after move out and did carpet cleaning. They helped a friend of mine (that I referred to Jonnzz) moving to Washington a few weeks ago. He needed expert help in packing his Matson container safely and correctly, after he tried and failed to do it properly himself. He also was very pleased with their work. While moving is a stressful event, they made it go a lot more smoothly than we could have expected. We will certainly use them again for any future moves. I was surprised and very enthused by working with these gentlemen. Not only did they arrive early, they arrived with an extra person than what was originally said. It took about 2 and 1/2 hours for the move but since of the extra person he made it a charge of 2 hours for 450 dollars. That was well within my budget and was very professional and they even helped me move stuff in about the locations I wanted it for my next place. Not to mention when I realized they forgot to unpack my surge protectors. The owner drove back with his carpet cleaner as well. Despite not having a vacuum (I had one luckily although it took longer) He was able to clean my carpet that I was about to get a carpet cleaner to do as well! For a discounted price (I gave him 20 bucks more than what he asked). He hires former military who are great to work with and are very professional. I'll start by saying that moving is my least favorite activity on earth. It's just the worst! However, John and his crew - dare I say it - actually made the move enjoyable. They were such a nice group of guys who were super efficient, super friendly, and just so hardworking. They helped us move my parents from one condo in Waikiki to another condo in Kaka'ako and it was a LOT of work. We had tons of furniture, tons of artwork, and just lots of items in general, but John's team of 4 helped us with last minute packing, brought supplies like boxes and bubble wrap when we ran out so we didn't have to worry about going to the store ourselves amidst the craziness of packing, and carefully wrapped all the delicate furniture and artwork. Also, we had a LOT of clothes but John's team has a moving system that allowed the clothing to remain on the hangers and be placed right into the new closets WITHOUT having to pay for those expensive wardrobe boxes! We had narrow hallways in the old unit that they had to deal with, and a terrible loading dock area and oddly short elevators at the new place that complicated things - but they dealt with these challenges like pros and with positive attitudes. They took the enormous stress of moving off of my parents' shoulders by making this process so smooth. We've already referred them to friends on the island who need movers because we were so happy with their service. We also used them to do a professional cleaning job on the old unit and they were AWESOME! I was hesitant about hiring a moving company at first, but being that it was the holiday weekend (4th of July), I felt bad about bothering my friends. So I went to Yelp to research moving companies and decided on The Jonnzz Advantage...and WHOA, am I glad I did! After coming out to view the old place and giving me pointers on things I could be working on as far as packing and saving money on certain moving supplies, he sent me a quote and was very upfront about his pricing; so I knew, going in, pretty much what to expect. He gave me a time he'd arrive (11AM), and sure enough he was literally knocking at my door at 10:55AM...ready to work! He and his crew were very nice, cordial, and they all introduced themselves and when it came to the actual move...??? ...they were no-nonsense! No loafing around, sitting around, or complaining! They came in and went straight to work! While I know each move is different, I can honestly say...from start (Honolulu) to finish (Windward side)...they took all of about 3 to 3 1/2 hours to complete this move! We recently moved from town to the Windward side and hired John and his crew to move us. Moving is STRESSFUL, but they were so great it really helped take the edge off. Totally awesome experience. I had a small job, relocating 3 heavy sofas and 2 large fish tanks from my garage back into my living room after a flood. My wife and I could not do it and I called several movers who scoffed at the move and the ones who said they would do it stated it would take a few weeks before they could do it and their quotes were quite high. Left a voicemail for John who called right back responding with a, "no problem, we can squeeze you in tomorrow"! Very professional, all around nice guys. Like a previous post there are a lot of cleaning companies out there, and was a difficult decsion to make , I put a few calls out and sent e mails,the others actually contacted me after I decided to go with Jonns company ,due to the fact he contacted me in short order,I chose this company for a few reasons,when I initially called a Japanese female recording came on , not knowing he had any affiliation with any other Japanese run company that was a plus, my wife being Japanese , I know how the Japanese take PRIDE in their work, they also have "moving services" which saved me from having to look for a another company to move my furniture. Jonn came out and check it out the apartment and furniture, and gave me an estimate and time span which,seemed to fit our schedule,actually they did the move out and cleaning all in one day with his TEAM,upon questioning Jonn on what needed to be done , I showed him the list from the agency of what of what they wanted done, I said its was almost like moving out of base housing,with the WHITE GLOVE treatment,told him about the inspector using a white glove streaking his finger above the door jamb looking for dust, thats when he told me he has a Former MARINE on his team, which again sealed the deal....with him on his TEAM he understood the meaning of CLEAN. Jonns TEAM moved our belongings without a hitch and cleaned the unit,in which I told him looked cleaner than when we moved in,when the agency did their final inspection, and received our refund,I was told a few items were amiss ,but I didn't want to argue with them because it really was beyond our control, which was normal wear and tear,and so small an issue, but an item which was stated that a long florescent bulb was missing , or not there, and anyone who has that type of tube in your house will know that if one is missing or burnt it'll be kinda dark in that room,I just replaced both bulbs not even 2 months before, we did get most or all of our deposit back , what we didn't get back was not really worth making an issue over , my wife and I were glad to get back what we did after hearing horror stories about this agency...all in all my wife and I were pleased the the services from this company.. John and his men are very good young men and quick movers. They are very careful and respectful of your furniture and wrap everything so as not to dent or damage it. I found out, a little too late, that they also do apartment move-in/out cleaning. They bailed me out by cleaning my carpets, after not having my calls returned by another company (MDR), which is another thing that I didn't know that they did when I first booked them for moving services. All of this was done in the last week of my lease with last minute booking. My rug had several dirt stains (traffic wear) that you don't notice until all of the furniture is removed. They cleaned it well (not real quality "egg-shell" carpet) and it passed final inspection - great job!! Booked them last minute for my son who is stationed on Oahu. We hit a major snag when they showed up as scheduled but due to rules of the complex where my son lived, they weren't allowed to clean. This review is long over due for their moving and carpet cleaning services! As they say, moving can be a stressful events in life. Especially, if you are renting and need to complete a laundry list of items prior to your move out inspection. For us, John and his team made our entire experience a stress-free one! It was a last minute decision to move. Living on a third story walk up for over 2 years was getting to us, and it became a safety issue after one of us twisted our ankles. It was time to move and I knew that it could get costly. After contacting a few companies with no response, I had contacted The Jonnzz Advantage to inquire if they were able to help us. One of the main reasons I had contacted The Jonnzz Advantage, is fact that the are a registered business in the State of Hawaii. This was a major plus! When I had inquired to see if they could help me, it was an email that was sent over the weekend. However, in less than 24 hours, Adrienne, responded and had answered all my questions. It was then, I knew that this experience was going to be great one! Once the moving date was set and the carpet cleaning was scheduled, I received a follow up call from John. I didn't expect a call and this helped put my mind at ease knowing that communication is important to them! For us, we had to go to 3 different locations. At our first location, we picked up a sofa and a love seat that was given to us. What we found out was that those things came apart.... we learn something new! Being that it was a cloth type of sofa, I didn't think of wrapping it. John and his crew came back with plastic wrap and wrapped it so that it wouldn't get dirty. A+ for that! At our next location, that is where the work out began. We had at least 15+ boxes in the living room ready to be taken down. During the entire time, all three worked with a smile and always checked to see if there was anything else to be taken down. After the boxes, a queen size bed and other pieces of furniture, all items were out of our three story walk up in less than two hours. At our last stop, everything was unloaded with such speed and efficiency. At this stop, I had also asked them to help my parents move out an old non-working freezer since they were older and would not be able to do it themselves. In less than 5 minutes, the freezer was out of the house and ready for bulky pick up. In less than four hours from start of finish, we were all done and boy did I need a nap. Finally, it was time to have my carpets cleaned. Initially, I thought it would be great to do the moving and carpet cleaning at one time, but boy am I glad I waited until Monday to have this service done. If I was beat, John and his crew must have been exhausted from the work out they had on Saturday! Knowing that their quality of service is top notched, I know had no worries when it came down to having my carpets cleaned. I loved the fact that they provided this service because it made the move out process that much easier. Since I hired them to do my moving, they gave me discount for using their carpet cleaning services! In my initial correspondence with Adrienne, I had requested for them to call me when they were 15 minutes away from the apt. Since I was meeting them on my lunch break to open the unit, it would allow me time to drive there and meet them. Upon arrival, John and his crew were waiting for me at the apt. I was impressed that they were ready to go and once I had opened the door, they went straight to work. One person started to vacuum the carpet, while the other person started to get the carpet steamer going. After leaving, I received a call in less than an hour letting me know that my 1 bedroom was cleaned! Upon arrival to close up the apt, I was impressed with the way the carpet looked. They were able to get the stain outs from the wear and tear. It looked as it it was brand new! I thought that was the end of our business relationship, but the surprises kept on coming! As we were slowly unpacking during the week, a small package came from John. It was a thank you card and a housewarming gift. Honestly, that truly impressed me! Moved from Honolulu to Ewa Beach. John came out to give me a free estimate two weeks ahead of time, and his estimate was spot-on. Very reasonable rates and fees. He mentioned that they may have to make two trips, but would work with me on travel time if that was the case. When I couldn't get everything packed ahead of time due to other obligations on my time, I notified them and they brought extra packing materials and took care of the rest of the packing on the spot. On moving day, instead of making two trips, they brought a second truck (which is cheaper for the customer). John's crew was extremely professional, efficient, and courteous. This was the fastest I've ever gotten moved from one house to another. They took better care of my household goods than I did, and the move went so smooth that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Johnzz Advantage to everyone. I do, however, regret not partaking of their cleaning service, as I'm still working through that particular piece. read more

John helped us move from one apartment to another in the Ala Moana area. He came out to our place to give an estimate and I was glad that his rates were much more affordable than other well-rated movers on Yelp. He is a cool guy with a friendly and hard-working team. Here is what he did that has prompted me to give him a great rating: - they were punctual and sent me status updates the night before the move and several times on the day of the move - got all my belongings without any scratches or marks. in addition to boxes, bags and knick-knacks, they moved two tvs and several pieces of furniture that were dis-assembled, packed and assembled properly - our new hallway is really narrow and they had to maneuver our chaise quite a bit to get it in. They made a little mark on the hallway wall during this process which was quickly cleaned up by John and his team - They were all friendly and happy in spite of hot weather and the physical stress of their job - I had some problems with our packing tape on the morning of the move out day but he was nice enough to make a quick trip to pick up new tape before coming to our place. It's the little things! - We had some unforeseen delays during the move (i.e. loading zone for the truck ended up being much farther than our building) but John was kind enough to not charge us for the extra time We would definitely use John's services again. I used Jonzz Advantage to clean my house and windows. John came with a crew of about 5, arrived right on schedule and went immediately to work. My house has high ceilings and windows and they cleaned it top to bottom! They take everything out of the cupboards and put it back without anything being broken. They steam cleaned the laminate floor and now it's so shiny. They did a great job and very reasonably priced. Great company and crew. Very responsive to my emails, and got all of our stuff from a two-story house to a near-by three-story house in less than one day, including disassembly and reassembly of beds, desks, and tables. John and the crew were professional, pleasant, and took great care of my stuff (even when they had to move a piano down stairs!). Pretty plain and simple for me. I needed moving and cleaning and these guys did both. Communication was great! He got back to me super fast with a quote and the prices were reasonable and beat out the other guys that I quoted. We did the moving one day. The guys were super cool, they wrapped everything up first in plastic and blankets. My lease contract required cleaning for the house and John's very knowledgeable in that area. My family needed to move several times in the past 6 months since my parents' old condo sold before their new condo development was ready to move into. His crew moved their heavy yet fragile furniture into storage, cleaned my condo so it was up to my parents' standards, and moved their stuff into my condo for the interim. When we were ready to move into the new condo, his crew was able to move my leftover things to storage as well as efficiently move furniture and boxes to the new condo. We also had him patch many holes in the walls, paint, and clean my condo. It has been like musical chairs with condos but John and his crew have all kept up with our craziness! I just want to say big mahalo to John and his crew for the great moving work they performed for me in a short period of time. I contacted him a little less two weeks ago and from the beginning he was so nice and professional. He promptly scheduled a visit to our house to check out the scope of work and put all my worries at ease. He even suggested ways we could minimize the move costs. He was able to accommodate our schedule, even the performing the move on a Sunday! The whole crew and John showed up on time and ready to work. They were very courteous and packed all our items very carefully. They shrinked wrapped everything that I did not want bugs or lizards getting in to and protected the glass items with cardboard so it wouldn't crack. They also took away any items that we didn't need for disposal or donation. John originally estimated 4-6 hours to complete the move. They were able to complete it in 2-1/2 since we took his advice to minimize the time. I definitely want to hire them for moving everything back in. read more
