Hubby and I were waiting for a service at a business nearby and decided to stop by and order a drink. The music is always on point and it was nicely decorated. The bartender/server (alexis) greeted us relatively quickly and it started out as a wonderful experience, however it quickly went downhill after I order a drink that specifically mentions botanical vodka. As the bartender/server pulled down the bottle, I noticed that it was not the botanical bottle. It was the regular bottle, but I decided to give it a try. It was horrible. I was attracted to the drink only because of the type of vodka being used. I was so disappointed, but it was not the bartender/server's fault, but she could have said it was not the vodka that the drink is supposed to have. It the point of paying, I asked them would they consider taking it off of the menu due to not having the correct vodka. She said it is not a "me question, but an owner question". No offer of a manager or owner. No offer, of after seeing that I did not drink much of my drink at all, of another drink. Then stalled on coming back to get the check and then on top of it tried to be funny, saying have a blessed day, be safe out there knowing she cared less. If you ask for a certain drink and they do not have the correct ingredients, then it should not be made or at least give you the option of still having that drink. read more

My family and I came here last night since we are in Atlanta. Due to the Coronavirus, we did takeout. You can't come in the restaurant either. They have a wide window where you order and pick up. I had the pound of headless shrimp, a corn, a potato and paid extra for the boiled eggs. My son doesn't eat seafood, so he had chicken strips and fries. My Husband had sausage, headless shrimp, corn and potato. The food was delicious, but I never eat all of it. We had leftovers for today, but I don't eat leftovers, so my husband will have food for today. If we had to do it all over again, I will keep the same order. Hopefully, the Coronavirus will be over with soon so that we can enjoy dining in. read more

This is similar to Hot & Juicy and Boiling Crab in L.A., though maybe not quite as good. Since I can't get to L.A. whenever I want my fix, this is my go-to place in metro Atlanta. Get the juicy seasoning, which is all the seasoning flavors combined. Trust me. It works! The Special w/the crabs (1 cluster), 1/2 lb shrimp, 1 half corn cob, & 1 potato for $27 now. I think it was $25 the last time I was here. If you want to add sausage that's sliced diagonally, that's now $4.50. I really like their fried shrimp also. They're a nice large fried shrimp that has a nice crunch on the outside & tenders shrimp on the inside. I prefer the fried shrimp to the ones in the steamed bag because I don't like the grittiness of shrimp that aren't deveined. UPDATE: the shrimp now have more breading and aren't as large as before. Today for lunch I tried the fried tilapia & shrimp combo basket. You get half of the serving offered of each item for the provide listed. The tilapia is basically a fillet sliced in 2 pcs. It could've used s a little something extra like a lemon squeeze or a little seasoning, something. The hush puppies are small and ok depending on when you order them. You get 10 for $4. The fries are battered like Checkers as regular and Cajun includes some seasoning. I've been for lunch & dinner. Of course it's more crowded, especially on the weekends so be prepared to have a wait for dinner. Based on my recent visit, they may be headed for 3.5 stars but I'll keep you updated. read more

Ordered a cocktail and did not receive it after almost an hour. Decided to leave, will not be returning

Honestly the food could be good. But you'll never know as you'll be sat and even if you consistently ask to get served you still won't have your order taken for almost an hour, then after you place an order to be forgotten about again. Two hours in we just decided to leave and go somewhere else. For a place with so many employees standing around I don't understand how service could be so slow, no one was rude and they were apologetic so I have to assume it's a management issue. read more

This new location gets 5 stars from me. I loved it. A co-worker told me that they had a new location. I love the restaurant but going all the way to Duluth from the south side of Atl of a bit much unless I was just up that way. The new location is next to the Kroger and on the other side of T Mobile. In the corner and definitely in the cut. Everything is so nice and new. Booths and Tables. Fat Friendly. The Christmas decorations were cute too. Let's get to the food. If I could i would be back there right now. I ordered a bad with Dungeness Crab Legs, Shrimp, Smoked Sausage, Boiled Eggs, Corn and Potato and some nice hot French Fries. I Ordered to go...the clam chowder and the catfish that supposed to come with a side order and a choice of condiment. However, someone forgot to add my Cole slaw, tartar sauce, and eating utensils in the bag. Of course I didn't find out until I got home. I forgive the utensils, but the preparer knows that it comes with a side order. I assumed that the sauce was in the box with the fish like most other restaurants do. Overall not a bad experience. Our server was cheerful and attentive, she did a great job explaining the menu and everything, kept our drinks filled and checked in enough to make sure we were okay without making us feel like she was standing over us. The decor is good, the food came out quickly and was freshly prepared and good and hot, which was nice in that we were there a little after what I would call regular lunch time. The reason I only awarded 3 out of 5 stars is I ordered the calamari plater/dinner and what I got was some sort of reconstituted calamari rings that were all the same size and looked just like the chopped and formed onion rings. They tasted okay seasoning wise but the texture was not the best and just disappointing for what I would consider a seafood restaurant that serves crab legs, shrimp, etc. I don't want to put anyone off going there and I would probably eat there again if I was in the area, but I would certainly go for boiled crab or shrimp instead. read more

So a few weeks ago I ordered food from this place. I ordered a lot of oysters and when I received my food and got home the oysters were disgusting. So I call the establishment and talk with a manger and she said " I will replace the oysters with something else you ordered alike" I also offered to bring the oysters back and she said "it's ok". Then on top of that they didn't put the shrimp in the bag that I paid for. So today I go in to get what was promised to me. The two mangers that was working were not understanding or comprehending what I was explaining. Besides they argued with me basically calling me a liar. But they didn't want to acknowledge the issue with the oysters. They demanded I pay $16.98. Once again I told them with me paying my complimentary for the oysters was not meet. After about ten minutes going back and forth she give me the food. At this time I said I'll pay and come back when the manager that acknowledge my issues was working. I just don't understand why I would lie about $16.98 really. So if you want to eat at a GHETTO Establishment GHETTO workers who don't wear mask and coughing all over the place go here! Got the seafood broil with the mild sauce -- the one with a little of of the sauces mixed together. The sauce had so much salt in it I started to fill bad after eating half. Put the rest in the fridge for latter and it was even saltier after being in fridge. I have high blood pressure so I have to reconsider if I would want to take that chance again. Great fast service. My first plate of snow crabs were like Luke warm and just flavorless, the corn was the only good thing. I decided to order another round, and did medium this time, and the crab came out hot and flavorful. Definitely changed my mind. Not the best crab legs I have had, but they are good. Ahh, last year was a hot mess in terms of not being able to enjoy dining in without a mask. With that being said I took a chance and dined in to this Juicy Crab location. During the time me and my party went there was no one in the restaurant. We pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. I got my favorite item on the menu, the seafood bag combo with the juicy special in mild. The mild for me was perfect and not over powering in flavor. My mom got the mild as well and she didn't have any complaints. What I appreciated was the quality of seafood. The seafood didn't taste old and the corn was soggy. We visited Super Bowl weekend (who know that would be the last major sporting event of 2020?). Way better service than the Smyrna location. Less of a crowded night, we were seated right away. The food as usual is good. There was a DJ spinning records that night which was really cool. My only complaint is that they took forever to send a shell cracker to our table. Our server, Dontae, did an incredible job of answering all of my questions, bringing sauces to sample and taking care of us. The fried oysters were well battered and fried to perfection. The oysters themselves, plump and briny. The low country style Dungeness crab I ordered was *DEVINE*. First time at Juicy Crab in Douglasville . Our server Jose was just excellent and quite attentive to our needs . Kudos Jose ! While the food was fine the music was inappropriate and offensive. Several songs with repetitive profanity , references to "hoes" , dropping the f bomb . Come on y'all - kids were present . Great service. We had a party of 11, on a Saturday night. Initially, we were told the wait was 45 mins, we were seated in about 20. Waitress was very attentive and patient, as to answer questions about the menu, that some had. Food came very quickly and was delicious. A little salty for my liking, but it was still delicious. I would warn you, if you have BP issues, either take your meds before hand, or don't get the juicy special sauce. I had the pick two...sausage/shrimp and it automatically comes with potato and corn. Would have liked to have another piece of each, but I have to watch my girlish figure. And they sung happy birthday to my friend and gave free cake. I frequent the juicy crab in Duluth and it's worth the hour drive. I was super excited to hear this one in Douglas was opening however I'm totally displeased. I order the juicy special (mild) 1/2 crab legs 1/2 sausage 1/2 mussels and 1/2 shrimp. Seasoning was so bland. It didn't have that kick to it. Snow crabs were way off I can't put my finger on it but they tasted funny and dry although in the sauce (kinda weird) Server wasn't prompt at all (mind you it wasn't busy) asked for additional corn, my kids meal was halfway finished before we received it ( I had to remind him, like hey where's the corn). Asked for a refill never got that. Waiter checked in on the table once and that was it. So when I was finally able to get his attention I had to remind him that I asked for a refill. Then I asked for check and to go box... he brought the container over but then I had to wait another 10 mins for the check. He never brought over a bag for my food,provided me a refill in to go cup,no straw. Bottom line... they have some work to do over in Douglas. In the meantime I will continue to take that 1hr hike to Duluth. read more

The Juicy Crab is a different take on seafood. I like it, yet it is overpriced and not especially filling if you just order the plastic bags of protein and spice. Not much else comes with the order. I would suggest going to Buford Highway and trying the Shaking Crawfish instead. Sort of the same yet better and more of a show. As I love this kind of food, I found this experience of a different type of seafood preparation to be an automatized preparation of the meal--an overpriced gimmick. read more
