I was treated to a Kahala Signature manicure with a French add-on by my sister and we requested Lani and Loreta again since we had a blast chatting with them a year ago. Lani and Loreta remembered us and also the spa gave us an adorable cookie tray that was personalized! Lani did a fantastic job with my French manicure despite my nails being on the shorter end. She added a glitter band to each one too that I wasn't sure about when she asked if I wanted glitter but it honestly is PERFECT for the big day! Highly recommend seeing Lani and Loreta at the spa! Looks very quiet and clean. Going to check it out for the first time. Hope for the best. Somehow, I was "cajoled" into doing it, thanks to my loved one. Well, it was one interesting, first time experience worth remembering, but not sure I will do it again anytime soon, but that thinking may change once it is getting more challenging to do it myself. It was interesting to note that this services, including polishing toe nails, removing uneven skins, conditioning and massaging around the feet area, plus other extras care. With the intense stress that comes with wedding planning and preparation, I'd had a few nights I could not sleep due to tension headaches the past couple months, probably from anxiety. Thankfully the anxiety has subsided now that the wedding went as smoothly as we could ask for. However, my wife and I were still very much physically and mentally exhausted from the day full of events followed by multiple days of moving decorations and other boxes in/out from our venue. Well, what better way to unwind after all that than a spa day? We were able to get squeezed in for a couples massage and facial at The Kahala after all the physical labor was mostly done and I must say... as a person who doesn't really enjoy massages, this particular experience left me extremely relaxed and rejuvenated even the few days after. All the knots were met with incredible focus and care. The fact that there's a shower available for use after the massage was a great amenity to rinse off all the oils before putting our clothes back on. From there, we headed out to a lounge area outside to enjoy a drink and some cookies provided by the hotel. I hadn't felt that relaxed in a long time and I hope we can make this a regular visit going forward. Highly recommended. Thank you Sayuri and Sayaka for your excellent service and hospitality! Side notes: Valet parking is covered by your appointment if you would like to take advantage of that. Hands down, one of the best massages I have received! Horaku was my therapist and she was amazing! She listened to what kind of pressure I wanted and what areas to focus on. We did the special promotion package massage that is being advertised right now and I highly recommend!! We also added the additional $25 fee to use the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and fitness room. After brunch Little Sweetie, Bud and their mom walked me to the spa. They had made reservations for a 60 minute massage and a 30 minute facial for me. What a pampering gift. The massage therapist, Olivia came up the stairs to get me. Stairs and I are not compatible. She understood and we took the shortest path via a special elevator down. The room downstairs was dimly lit, decorated simple and relaxing with calm soothing music. I was showed the changing area then she took me outside to chill out in a cabana. It was a nice hot sunny day but no trades. She brought me a cookie and green tea peach flavored. Really nice touch. If you are sensitive to heat, skip the cabana. When it was time she brought me back into the private room. She held up a covering as I disrobed and got onto the table face down. Earlier she let me select one of 3 fragrances to be massaged with. I also chose light pressure. One hour passed so quickly then it was time for the facial. Both treatments were luxurious. I've had massages throughout our travels and on island and this one is one of the best. The plushest robe that covered my bod, the sheets and covering were silky smooth. The room temperature and the masterful strokes by Olivia as well as her genuine caring and sweet personality were superb. read more

Oli Oli Lomilomi signature treatment was 120 minutes of pure bliss!! We have been coming to the Kahala for over 20 years and the spa NEVER lets me down!! I had Chizuko "Chi-Chi" who has probably done at least 5 treatments on me through the years which is so amazing!! I 100% enjoyed the treatment although it was not the treatment I thought I signed up for it was the treatment I totally needed! It started with a Hawaiian foot bath ritual. It was so relaxing to have my feet scrubbed, and to start off the treatment with this beautiful tradition.. It gave me time to smell all the scents we would be using and to center myself before we started. I can't tell you much more that happened after I laid down on the table because Chi-Chi's magic hands took over. I don't think anyone has ever taken such good care and nurturing with my back. At one point when I turned over, she started putting the oil in my hair and I was thinking well that's odd that she didn't do the mud on my legs first and then next thing I know she was cleaning my legs off. I must've been out cold because I had no clue that she put the mud on my legs and I slept through half the treatment! Thank God this wonderful table sat me up because there was no way I could move after my treatment! We moved outside and my treatment ended with me sitting in the cabana, drinking delicious iced tea and having a coconut cookie. I ran inside to take some photos to include with this review, but I should've taken them before the treatment. The rooms are so beautiful redwood and Hawaiian the Kahala spa has always been my favorite spa and I can't wait to come back and the best part is I know that Chi Chi will be here when I come back!! read more

My 80 min CBD massage with Jason was amazing. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated. The sauna was great. The whirlpools were closed or broken, so that was a little disappointing. I wished they had offered more variety of lotions, specifically sunscreen, in the women's locker and shower area so I could have gone straight to the pool to relax without having to detour to my room first. But otherwise it had many amenities. Great experience. read more

First off, the Kahala Hotel in Honolulu is absolutely beautiful. It's about a 10-15 mins drive from Waikiki, but it feels like a world of difference. It's tucked away from the hustle and bustle from the main strip. This spa is one of the more unique spa experiences that I've ever had. I loved the en suite bathrooms and the outdoor cabana waiting area. My booking experience was wonderful. It took me a few times to get them on the phone, but once I did, everything went smoothly. They helped me book two next day appointments for 90 minute treatments. Such wonderful service! Olivia was my massage therapist and facial aesthetician -- she was amazing. Soft and smooth touch, I was asleep far too quickly. My treatment started with a foot soak and scrub, then I had a relaxing back massage with hot stones, and ended with a rejuvenating facial. My skin was literally glowing all day. I love that they give an option for all natural products or Skinceuticals. I opted for Skinceuticals since that is one of my tried and true products lines. After the treatment, you're invited to the outdoor relaxation cabanas where coconut water and a cookie is served. The only reason why I docked 1 star is because there really is no amenities like steam room or sauna to enjoy. Also, I was spoiled with the most amazing relaxing lounge at the Ritz Spa, that I was really forward to that experience again at the Kahala. The outdoor cabanas were cool, but it's not as relaxing as a dimmed cozy lounge with spa smells and music. Nonetheless, I would be back the next time I'm in Honolulu. They're not inexpensive, but you definitely get your money's worth if you're looking for a phenomenal treat! You get a beautiful, spacious private hotel room and their technicians are of the highest level. I particularly highly recommend either of the twin sister technicians, Sayuri and Saori! They listen to exactly what needs attention, are very friendly and highly professional. They ask detailed questions prior to starting your massage to ensure that they address your expectations. NO AMENITIES! Sauna & steam rooms not operating, no spa slippers offered, another guest brought a 12 year old male into the locker room without warning! Spa front desk stated there was nothing that could be done. I couldn't even finish taking a shower. I was offered $25 off the bill. UNACCEPTABLE FOR AN EXPENSIVE SPA. From the service, to the lovely biscuits and tea they had waiting after, everything was absolutely amazing! Honestly thought two hours was way too long. And it's not lol. Small, intimate spa at this luxury hotel. Came here to celebrate mothers day. You check in at the spa store. There you wait for your masseuse to retrieve you to escort you to your massage room. You get to choose which oil they use for your massage. I chose the kahala spa blend. Once escorted to your private massage room, They let you change behind these huge curtains that separate the room from the bathroom. In the bathroom there is a huge jet tub, a shower, vanity with a sink and a closet. It was kind of awkward getting ready and only thing spreading you from your Masseuse is a curtain. The massage was amazing and comfortable. After our massage, they told us to get dressed and they will meet us outside for our private cabana. I wish we had time to wind down. We really wanted to enjoy the tub, but they were waiting in the massage room, So we just jumped in the shower. They escorted us right outside to the cabana. They had a plate of cookies for us and 2 drinks. A coconut water and a peach green tea. We got to hang out at the cabana as long as we wanted until we were ready to go back to the spa store to check out. I wish this spa had more amenities to enjoy and not so mush supervision. We just felt a little rushed and didn't really have time to unwind and relax after our massage. I understand though, being that it's not in an enclosed building. Great experience though. read more

Wow, this may be my favorite spa ever! In spite of visiting the Kahala Hotel regularly to enjoy the beach, poolside dining, restaurants, swimming with dolphins, and two staycations, I had never been to the spa. Went today and positively LOVED it! It is spectacular! To begin with, how amazing that you get your own full private room with en suite bathroom!! NO sharing lockers and crowded showers - your very own luxurious space to change, bathe, and get ready afterward. Also loved the service!!! I booked facials for my mom and myself to celebrate her birthday. She had Chizuko and I had Olivia - both were top notch. I was in heaven! Afterward, they let us lounge in outdoor cabanas right beside the spa treatment rooms with water bottles, coconut water and green tea. They even had a plate of cookies that read "Happy Birthday, Carol!" We were so touched. This really is a world class spa. I can't recommend it highly enough. read more

I went to the spa today and i was shocked how amazing it was. The workers were very gentle and sweet. I got a facial and it was so relaxing and i felt very comfortable. The room played relaxing music during. It was about an hour long and after i had a cup of tea, some chocolates and a cold rag. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. I love the Kahala and have been coming here annually for over 15 years. But the spa really isnt up to the standards of the rest of the resort. The staff were all very friendly and inviting. But the spa facilities are lacking. Most high end resorts have a spa facility where you can spend time relaxing. Hot tubs, steam rooms, showers, etc. Not here..you check in and wait and then are taken to a converted guest room for your treatment. When its finished you are escorted back to the reception area, you pay and leave. I would have liked a shower or a steam or a hot tub to relax in. That's just not an option here. I got a two hour massage on my last visit and was very disappointed. I get massages frequently and love doing them when I travel. This was one of the most expensive and least relaxing massages ive ever had. The therapist was friendly but very weak, and pretty much just pushed on my bones and didn't really seem to understand the way a body and muscles need to be relaxed. She kinda just rubbed oil all over me for an hour. I asked several times for more pressure or to have her work on sore areas but she seemed to be trained just to rub around and do her routine. I would never use this spa again ,nor recommend it to anyone. Your better off going probably most anywhere else. read more

Three and a half stars. Booking on short notice to use up our resort credit was surprisingly easy, and we opted to be serviced in the same room a quiet two-minute walk from the spa reception area. Our privacy was respected throughout the process, and there were combs and lotions in the attached bathroom. Robes and slippers to encase you from the bathroom to the tables. The warm peppermint towels, tiny refreshments, and yogurt raisins were nice to add to the relaxing atmosphere, but I've definitely had better deep tissue massages elsewhere. Definitely go specialty treatment or 90-minute in order to feel like you've had a proper spa day. The 10% shopping discount convinced us to pick up an amazing botanical mist as a little souvenir. read more

First of all, my massage therapist was incredible! There are a few things however that resulted in a less than 5 star review here. First, choose your oil wisely. I would say avoid the hau flower coconut oil at all costs. It smells pleasant in the jar from a distance, but gosh did it stink once used for the massage. My friend who has a completely dead nose even commented when I got into his car how stinky I was. We rolled down the windows and I showered as soon as I got home. It literally took two showers to get the smell off and I also had to wash my clothes twice. The other negative was the harsh transition from changing out if my clothes to directly going into the massage. There wasn't a relaxation room, and they did not perform the pre-massage foot wash that they advertise. The facial was absolutely divine, but overall I think I prefer the facilities at the Ritz-Carlton Residences better. There you can check in 30 minutes early, use a steam room, and get into a relaxed state in their relaxation room prior to your massage treatment. read more

A few weeks ago I was treated to a wonderful Swedish Massage. I made note that I had a sore neck and also have a pinched nerve on the left side. The Massage Therapist was so good and I had to tell her that her massaging my forearms made them feel the best they've felt in a long time due to having Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in both wrists! We got a complimentary couples' body scrub after our wedding. Their spa was under construction so a guest room was transformed into a spa room. Reception was friendly and offered us tea and coconut flakes. Shortly our masseuses took us to the room and allowed us to change into robes and spa slippers. The spa beds were automatic and could be made into sitting position. The scrub smelled so amazing!!! We wanted to buy some but it was sold out. After the full body scrub we rinsed off in the shower and out bodies were so soft and smelled so great! I am addicted and I definitely will be back for another body scrub. 10 stars for customer service. read more

Decided to treat the mama bear to a spa day for Mother's Day and I am SO glad I chose Kahala Spa. According to my mom she was "so sad to leave" and it was "the best gift she's ever received". This review is LONG over due, as I've been coming here for years. I love, seriously LOVE everything about the Kahala period. Service is impeccable, it's the place I truly feel most at home. Upon check in, I'm usually greeted by Spring or another staff member ( who by the way really make it a point to know all my family members) who lead to sit while I wait for my masseuse or Esthetician. On my more recent visit, I had the great pleasure of a wonderful massage by Leslie Hamaoka. She's fabulous! Pressure was perfect, she was knowledgeable about the body and did an amazing job or ridding me of the knots in my shoulders and lower back. I left feeling amazing! She was so friendly and so good at what she does! If you're looking for a lomi lomi massage at The Kahala, request Leslie if you can. The atmosphere was calming and a great place unwind. The nice part about this hotel is that its tucked away in Kahala and youre away from the hustle and bustle of Waikīkī, which is so so nice.
