Came here on a Sunday evening with a group of 8. We were seated right away in a private room. They served fried eggplants topped with katsu sauce as a service before our foods. The katsu sauce was a winner. We ordered 7 dishes, and overall, everything had too much red pepper flakes. Even JaeYook bokkeum had red pepper flakes! Since when and what region of Korea cooks jaeyook bokkeum that way?!? Sometimes, the best things in the dish are things that are not in the dish. The winner of the evening was wine pork belly that was served on a iron dish with fried kimchi, mushrooms, onions and scallions. We couldn't really taste the wine though. My personal favorite was bulnak gopdol (bulgogi and octopus in hot stonebowl). One of the best bibimbaps I've had. I would definitely be coming back for this one.

Pork belly. $20~ half plate and pretty thin...

Came in here for dinner since I was way too tired to heat stuff up at home. Side dishes were decent. My favorite part of the meal was actually the little portion of kimchi pancake that they brought as service. Ordered bossam combo with soybean stew, plus an order of Dotori Muk (that Korean jelly thing). The entrees themselves took a pretty long time to get there. Bossam portion was fairly small for the price. Each slice was cut pretty thin as well. The Muk was pretty ok, but that's usually pretty standard at most places. Service was slow even though we were the only table there for most of the dinner service. Not sure what waitress was up to... With all the other Korean offerings available in the area, this place wouldn't be in my rotation at all.

    Pretty dry bossam and galbi.
    Jae C.

I was looking for a traditional korean food and came across this one. The menu looked pretty formal. However, the bossam we got, the pork meat was so dry and smelled a bit, same thing with galbi. Galbi was very dry. Tofu soup really had no flavor either. Plus, it's over priced. Also, the place is tiny and somehow other people's noise gets trapped and gets really loud even when it wasn't busy.

This is authentic Korean restaurant offers 22nd century taste of Korea!!! You will deceive by interior. Small narrow hall way many small room. First thought was did I make mistake? Little bit loud. Setting was not impressive at all. However, all the side dishes I mean "ALL" were great! You will taste authenticity of Korean food. I will proudly bring with my guests from Seattle next week. I would recommend this restaurant to who knows good food.

The Story: "Hey Winnie! Wanna do dinner?" "Yep!" "What do you want to eat?" "Korean?" *Pulls up yelp and check out bookmarked restaurants. Exactly how I ended up here. Food: I ordered the Braised Chicken and Potato stew. I think it really hit the spot for me the broth was very flavorful. Such a comforting meal. I enjoyed the banchan, they were pretty average but they gave more than 3 plates. But it was unlimited refills! Decor: It's a very small establishment but I liked how they have the tables. There were 3 private rooms with dividers between the tables. I enjoyed the privacy since we were pretty much the only ones there. Price:Total bill between two people with tip was around $38. The dish prices were average and I enjoyed a large selection of banchan that comes with it! Most places gives you the banchan based on what you order... :/ Service: I can see how service can be lacking with the separate rooms and table dividers. But that's how I liked it since it was pretty much "girl talk / catch up". The waitress did come and check on us. Parking & Finding the Place: Located on Bergen Blvd at the strip mall across from the HanNam supermarket. I get nervous trying to take that exit from Route 46... Additional Thoughts/Tips: Casual. Comfy. Private. Yummy. Definately will come back here.

Grilled codfish with hot and sweet sauce! IT comes with a conch dwenjang jjigae.

Food is so good here! Hidden gem in Palisades Park! The signage doesn't look fancy but more like casual, but inside is totally different from your expectation. It is a ideal place for business meeting or private events since there are partitions between tables and the table is made with marble. The best thing about this place is the menu; there are so many great soul food you could try in Korea such as sea squirt bibimbap, eel dupbap, spicy marinated grilled codfish and etc. They also have $50 course menu but I haven't tried so I cannot tell if it is good or not, but I really want to try that next time! Oh the service was wonderful too! I will def be back!

Went for Weekday Lunch Special Food - 5/5. They give you a ton of banchan. Of particular note among them was the scallion kimchi; it had fermented just right so that the natural sweetness of the scallion really came out. The Bossam is super tender and amazing when eaten in combination with the other ingredients. The sour from the pickled daikon, the slight bitter from the scallion, the spice from the kimchi and the meaty umami from the pork mesh together into a delicious treat for your taste buds. The rice has perfect texture with a very good bite. The doenjang stew is mellow with not just the soybean flavor but seafood as well. Service - 5/5. I went to a late lunch by myself and they sat me in a semi-isolated corner. I thought the service would be minimal, but they constantly checked up on me for refills of barley tea and banchan. The check is brought out with a cup of sujeonggwa (old school Korean fruit punch). Great service! Value - 4/5. The prices are high compared to other restaurants in the area. They are definitely going for quality though, as the amount of banchan and the flavor of the food was superb. Each dish had that little something to bring it up a level compared to competing restaurants. They offer Korean Royal Court Cuisine and I can see where their confidence comes from as their food is absolutely delicious. I recommend coming here to dine if you're aiming for quality or have never tried Korean food before. This is a good place to start. Parking - Mall Lot (Free)

Spicy chicken stew (dak bokkeum tang). My fave dish
    Sarah C.

This place is suchhh a hidden gem! It used to be Omori (RIP), and I will admit that this spot was not doing very well when they first opened... The tangs (soups/stews) were all on the super fatty side and it made me hesitant to check it out again. But the kitchen def stepped up their game bc the food has come a long way since! I'm obsessed with their spicy chicken stew. Very generous portions of chicken pieces and potatoes in a spicy broth, ermahgawd... The pork neck bone stew is nourishing as well. They usually give about 6 banchans (complimentary sides). The tables are slightly partitioned, which gives you a bit of privacy. The servers are extremely friendly, and I love that they are still attentive even if you are dining alone. A lot of restaurants tend to not give a shit when its a table for 1. Def love this spot for lunch. HOWEVER, the dinner prices do seem a bit high. Sad face. Will return again and again!

Spicy Squid and Beef with fried rice pot. So good.

Read the review by someone with only 2 stars. Not on the mark... Came expecting to wait a terribly long time for my food. No such thing the food came pretty quick. And I am telling you this was a visit with kids, so I would be brutal for slow service. Bit no, they were fast and accurate and polight with 2 todlars and an infant. Let's start with the cons: 1) no kids menu. But you can just ask the servers and they will be polight enough to recommend something Yammy for the kids. 2) decor is not traditional or spectacular. However, I was not expecting a 5 Star restaurant experience. Pros: 1) polight. 2) great selection of Korean food. Both Spicy and Not. Don't expect to get true Korean Spicy food. They tone it down for foreigners. And that is great since it would end the meal fast. 3) clean. 4) No over crouded restaurant. You will be placed in a private space. You will not see the neighbors. Love it! 5) Highchairs available! What a blessing to have the provided and not directly or brocken. Happy 6) Bathrooms. You know this saying? If you know how clean the restaurant is, go look at their bathroom. They are clean. The only sticking point is that I would have given them the last star if they had some sort of fragrance to put it over the top. Other than that. The kids ate all the food. We didn't have to bargain for them to eat. And all the parents enjoyed the food/visit too.

    Sonia A.

The service was great The food was soooo tasty!!!! I got the yukgaejang it was delicious i finished it all!!! Yes i said all!!! I definitely recommend it to anyone who can handle spicy tasty food :)

Dined in here 30 minutes after the Lunch service was over. We ordered Hot Pot Bulgogi and Bossam Jeongsik. My verdict of dining experience is.. Food: Not a large variety of Banchan but overall seasoned well. Perilla leaves stood out the most with excellent texture and balanced saltiness. Hot Pot Bulgogi had bit too sweet flavor with excess amount of oil from fat on the broth (could have removed some oil, prior to bringing the dish out). Also, the portion could be bigger considering it was dinner pricing. Bossam Jeongsik, on the other hand, came with satisfying arrangement of meat and condiments(except for one piece of oyster . The Soy Bean Broth you get with the dish had the winning taste for the day. Nice flavor of the broth base with good balance of sweetness from dried radish stems and brininess from the sea snail. One disappointment with the dish were the rough textures from poorly trimmed hair on the skin side of the meat (not a pleasant feeling when the hairs touch your pallet). Service: Though the restaurant was almost empty, the waitress was attentive and polite. The girl serving us spoke fluent english which is always helpful in ethnic establishments. Not much to review about service this time due to slow flow. Best Bet for Newbies: I would recommend ordering any of the jeongsik menus even though the price is higher. Why? Eventually you are ordering two menu items. The Soybean Broth Soup option is already a good choice on its own but you would also get a nice portion of protein with it. Overall: The size and layout of the restaurant appears to be a fit for large group parties (observing from the removable partitioning walls in the dining area). As far as authenticity goes, the menu items do offer few items that are not too common in other local places (such as the pollack stew and gujeolpan) but the pork cutlet does throw you off. A good rule of thumb to differentiate good to poor Korean dishes are by the seasoning of banchans, which was executed well. However, my dishes seemed to lack several attention to details during my visit.

Samgyupsal sushi aka pork belly sushi

Always overlooked this place but I'm glad me and my family came here tonight. The samgyupsal sushi is....... SO GOOD. The owner, waiter and chef were very accommodating. 10/10 would recommend for Korean comfort food.

This time around, it's a stronger 5 out of 5 because of our waiter was amazing. Ugh, I can't remember his name. He was on top of everything and making sure our food was grilled in a timely manner. He was quick to follow up with orders/requests that didn't come through when the kitchen didn't bring them out. Usually my gripe or disclaimer I give to people is that Wooga is great at everything except wrapping up things on the end. In the past, whenever I went, it would take forever (!!!!!) to get our check and pay. It was so frustrating but this time around, it was a bit faster. It's a win-win situation because we get to pay and leave and the restaurant has another table for customers. Though on the pricier side, Wooga does check off all the boxes of: -amazing meat quality -amazing & attentive service -they don't skimp on banchans (side dishes that I heard other restaurants are starting to limit) -several meat combo options -best Korean steamed egg in the North Jersey area We tried the thinly sliced oxtails, which were really good but pretty pricey for $38cash/$39.90card for 11oz of it. There are some things that are inconvenient (long waits, very small parking lot) but it's easy to overlook them once you have a meal at Wooga. Things to know before you go: -Their menu is updated on their website if you want to check that out before you go. -The earlier you go, the better your chance of being seated quickly. Weekends are definitely a longer wait, so plan ahead. -Their parking lot is small so it fills up super quickly, so you'll have to park across the street and play Frogger (maybe you might be too young to know this reference?) to cross the 4 lanes of Palisade Ave. -When you arrive, make sure to check in with the host/hostess so that you could get a pager to know when your table is ready. Your turn can come pretty fast sometimes depending on the timing.

They also serve korean hot tea along side the dishes. My special beef rib soup was very light and clear but full of beef flavor. Little touch with salt and pepper with pickled veggies and rice paired with very well. The meats were very tender and flavorful as well. Portion is quite large and i was not able to finish my bowl although i did help with another bowl of rice from my partner. My partner got the rice cake and dumplings beef soup. This one was a but lighter and needed more salt flavoring but also good. She liked her's better as she doesn't like heavier and fattier meat/broth. Salt and peppers are provided to adjust your seasoning as needed. Even though they could not finish the dishes i throughly enjoyed the food. What i like about Korean dishes is that even some are heavy and fatty they include lots of vegetables and healthy ingredients which makes it feel like you had a healthy meal and lots of nutrients despite eating out. Service was minimal but adequate. Overall it was very good authentic Korean restaurant that offers solid Korean beef soup. If you want to try authentic Korean beef soup and you are in the area this is the place.
