Had such a good experience at Burma 2! Everything we ordered was delicious--the tea leaf salad was fresh and crunchy, and the coconut palata was amazing with the curry. The staff was also incredibly accommodating with my tiny service dog, which made the whole experience even better. It's not always easy dining out with a service animal, so I really appreciated how kind and understanding they were. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely delicious! Even my somewhat picky eater kids scarfed down a variety of food, especially the fried tofu. The drinks were amazing, the food was mouthwatering, and we loved the atmosphere on the patio during a nice day. Great service too! Love this place!

So MOST of what we ordered was fantastic. Get the TEA LEAF SALAD. It's great. Get the Basil & Dried Chile (beef) - burst of flavor. Get the Burmese Shrimp - delish. Pass on the Garlic Noodles & pass on the Calamari appetizer. The service was lightning fast. Almost too fast but I don't know that it's a bad thing. The fried banana with ice cream & desert platha were good as well. Place in located on Main St & they have their own little parking spot. All metered parking.

Years later and still consistently one of my fav restaurants. We just got it doordashed for the first time and it was still bomb. We recently branched out from our go to order and tried the Burmese chicken salad, curry, and a beef dish. You can't miss. Everything is delicious. Service is so on it. Even the frickin water is elite!

Great size shareable dishes. Came with my bestie for a late lunch/ early dinner therefore we missed the crowd. They have friendly service and went above what I expected when accommodating a food allergy. Plenty of space between you and the next party with spacious tables. I'll definitely be coming back!

After spending the morning at Ruth Bancroft Garden having a Burmese meal sounds like a good plan. We ordered grilled salmon with lemon grass, tea leaf salad, garlic noodle, and Indian basmati rice. I think only the tea leaf is worth repeating. I didn't really taste any lemon grass in the salmon. Garlic noodle is like a wet pasta soaked in tomato sauce. It did say that it will be different than the Vietnamese garlic noodle, which is fine but I am not fond too much of the flavor. Tge salmon and the noodle taste almost the same. Service was pretty good. Love the outdoor seating. But I don't think I will come here again for Burmese experience.

We came here about an hour before closing and it wasn't too busy. The service was really good and we had a great time. They didn't rush us at all. Food was good - a little hit or miss - but mostly good. The pineapple fried rice, and pad Thai were mediocre, but the eggplant was very good. Desserts were delicious.

Burma 2 in Walnut Creek was a great dining experience, especially for plant-based eaters. I should note that my entire meal was vegan since I was sharing with my partner, so this review doesn't reflect the non-vegan options. We started with the tea leaf salad, which was incredible. It came pre-mixed and was perfectly crunchy, fresh, and full of flavor. I honestly couldn't get enough of it. Next, we ordered the basil tofu with coconut rice. The basil tofu was bold and flavorful, and paired beautifully with the coconut rice. It was my first time trying coconut rice, and I absolutely loved it. The little crunchy toppings on top really made it pop. We asked for medium heat on the basil tofu, which didn't feel too spicy to me, so we requested extra sauce, which gave it the kick I was looking for. That said, I love spicy food, so medium heat may be just right, or even a bit much, for others. We also tried the Burma noodle. The server let us know ahead of time that it's typically served lukewarm, which we appreciated. It was good, but not as flavorful as the other dishes. Since we both gravitate toward bold flavors, this one felt a bit lacking in comparison. We agreed it would actually make a great leftover dish. We also ordered a drink, one of the spicy cocktails, though I sadly forgot the name. It was something unique that we hadn't seen before. My partner loved it, and after a sip, I could see why. It was refreshing, flavorful, and paired really well with the food. Everything smelled amazing from the moment it hit the table, and overall, this is definitely a place we'd return to. The vegan options were plentiful and genuinely satisfying, and I never felt like I was missing out by not ordering a non-vegan dish, which says a lot since I'm not vegan, but my partner is. We also noticed a family meal special advertised on the wall for $70, which felt like a great deal. That's something we'll likely try if we do take out.

Went for a later weeknight dinner at Burma 2, and we were warmly welcomed and seated right away. Service started right and was really terrific throughout the meal. The gentleman running the front of the house and our server were both professional and attentive, including ensuring that our water glasses were full and that checking in about our meal. We also took at advantage of their free Sinha beer promo (you get reimbursed $6 online after the meal). We really enjoyed the Burmese curry with lamb over coconut rice, with the curry being mild and thinner but with excellent Burmese flavors and tender chunks of lamb. The sautéed eggplant was also very good, with fresh eggplant complemented by spices and herbs. The palate was also flaky and great to dip into the curry. While we've taken out from Burma 2 several times, it was great to eat in and take advantage of the wonderful service and to eat the dishes fresh out of the kitchen!

It's a bit hard to find parking in the area. There's street parking around but this area is good about giving tickets if you're not on top of feeding the meter. The service was top notch and everyone was not only nice but super quick to get us water and orders in as soon as we were ready. Their walnut shrimp is basically honey walnut prawns. The broccoli and chicken was a healthy option for us with vegetables and protein. It was a tiny bit on the bland side for my taste. The favorite was the garlic noodles that comes with a sweet sauce on the side that you can add to taste. It was garlicky enough and the noodles were perfectly textured. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. The food was good but it was average.

We were there at lunch time. The lunch specials had a nice sampling of their common dishes. The biryani rice was very flavorful! And don't forget to order a Burmese iced tea too. Service was fast and staff was pleasant.

Ohno Khao Swe - SO GOOD!

Nice to stop by here when the weather is chilly to get some great Burmese food. The waiters were attentive and there was plenty of seating. Ohno Khao Swe is a must-try-- perfectly spiced and aromatic, soothing on a cold day. The tea leaf salad was yummy as well-- fresh leaves and nice crunch. The roti with mixed vegetable curry was a miss-- ended up dipping the roti in the Ohno Khao Swe broth... which was pretty good. Would recommend to stop by if you're in the area!

Delicious Burmese cuisine, friendly attentive service, pleasant upscale ambiance. We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit here today ! We came here just for a light lunch. They have a menu with lunch combos, but we elected to order from their dinner/standard menu. We chose: Eggplant & Garlic: For veggies, we selected the "Eggplant & Garlic" dish that combines big slices of eggplant stir fried in a hot wok with garlic, ginger, basil, so sauce and sambal chili. Can't go wrong with that, and sure enough, it was tasty to the last spoonful of the sauce reduction.. The flavors were bang-on great. I might consider adding the shrimp next time, as the sauce reminded me strongly of a dish I had like this in Singapore. SOLID 5/5! For the Eggplant dish as with the curries, I recommend ordering them with a bowl of rice - they have brown rice, jasmine (white) rice, and basmati rice - take your pick. We played it safe with just the jasmine (white) rice - two bowls split between the three of us. Pumpkin Curry: Our other entree was the Pumpkin Curry with an optional meat of your choice (chicken, beef, lamb or shrimp) - or with tofu/veggies if you want to go vegetarian. We chose the chicken, which was presented in thin slices of white meat that was super tender and moist. - Perfectly prepared. Asides from the chicken, the pumpkin curry also includes kobacha squash, coconut milk, broccoli, tender slices of carrot and bay leaf. This too was Excellent (5/5).. We don't get out to this part of the world much, but I definitely look forward to coming back here if I am anywhere nearby, or maybe I'll just make a special trip!. Yup. Highly recommended in my book!

Everything we ordered was fantastic and the service was great. We raved about the restaurant to family members that lived nearby and even purchased a gift card for them. Our second visit last weekend wasn't as great, but it was still enjoyable. We had Lychee Sake on the back patio while we waited for out party to arrive. Our server was good although he seemed a bit irritable and in a rush. The food was excellent although the portions seemed a bit on the small side. Highly disappointed in the Garlic Noodles with chicken that barely tasted like garlic and only had a few tiny scraps of chicken in it. Wouldn't recommend that dish but everything else was great. The restaurant itself is on the small side and would probably feel a bit claustrophobic during busy shifts but they have a nicely decorated back patio with plenty of tables. Well, a friend also recommend it as they live in town. Small town, most places do close pretty early. I think they closed around 8pm when we arrived. They were able to accommodate my group last minute. It was Thursday, the farmers market was going on out front and the place was pretty mellow. Inside, it was mellow but once you were in the back patio, it was pretty lively. It's where they seated us. First time also trying Burmese food. Menu did have a lot of dishes that are pretty much similar to the other southeast asian dishes. Pretty much the seasonings varies here and there. Service was great from start to finish as everyone was very sweet and friendly. Constantly checking in on us to make sure that everything was taken care of. Food wise, we started off with some of their starter. Burmese chicken wings and added fries. The seasoning was quite nice and tasty. Tossed with fries, onions, bell peppers and garlic bits. Quite tasty. Shrimp basket, classic fried shrimp in rice paper. Just like an egg roll. They were quite nice and tasty. Crispy pork belly, marinated pork belly served with a tamarind sauce. The nice crunch and sweet sauce were all great together. Entrees, a mixture of everything to share. The spicy noodles which were pretty much similar to pad Thai. Stir fry noodles with bell peppers, onions, green onions, mushrooms, scrambled eggs, peanuts and adorned with shredded cabbage. Perry much their version of pad Thai. It was good but a little too sweet for my liking. Burmese style chicken biryani, slow cooked chicken thighs and drumsticks marinated in butter, yogurt, masala, ginger and served with biryani rice. That was a meal in its own. Tasty with the sauce and the chicken literally fell off the bone. Basil chili beef was quite nice. The flavors were really good and the beef was tender. Fiery pork was a recommendation from the waiter which was also a nice dish. Stir fry tofu with pork, red onion, bell peppers, string beans, garlic and a house special soy sauce. Tasty dish as well. Lastly the chicken red curry. Slow cooked with potatoes, onions, Marsala, paprika in a rich sauce. Served with steamed rice. It was good but the other dishes outshine it. We did like the food. Very similar to a lot of other Asian dishes but their version and take on it. Pretty much similar but change it up with the spices. Service was great and the place was nice. Glad we got a table on the patio versus inside.

I stepped out of my food comfort zone with the cashew chicken and Pad See Ew, but I made the right decision because both dishes were delicious. One unexpected kicker was that they boxed up our leftovers for us, which was a really nice touch and something I appreciated. Overall, this was a great Valentine's Day experience. Things changed: more breading on the chicken (spicy crispy chicken) and reduced protein in some of the other dishes, too. But the flavors still hit and its popularity hasn't dimmed much on the nights I've gone over the last few years. I bought their cookbook years back but much of what I like isn't in it, so I keep coming back for the food and community vibes. There is a communal table, which I appreciate though I tend to sit at the bar when I go alone. It's worth it to get a view of what's happening all around you. The B S in Alameda doesn't have the same energy or coziness, but it is easier to access with safer parking (now windows broken there but I've had that here and been hassled walking to/from) and dramatically shorter waits. The diversity of the diners is much lower than this one though (Alameda is still mostly old white people) and the menu has more options here, so I'll continue to return again and again and recommend it to others ... and hope to not have to replace car windows.

From the calamari, to the tea leaf salad, to the curry, to the sesame chicken & beef, this was a special meal. This is definitely a return spot for me and I was truly impressed with all of the options. There's plenty more for me to try. Don't miss this delicious spot.

The Burmese Samusas were crisp and golden, perfect with the sweet chili sauce on the side. But the standout for me was the Lotus Root Chips. They were light, crunchy, and came with a creamy dip that kept me reaching for more. Everything was fresh and full of flavor, and you can tell they put real care into each dish. The service was excellent too. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations without ever rushing us. It really added to the whole experience. A couple of small things to note. The space is a little cramped, so it can feel tight when it is busy. And the price is on the higher side, so just go in knowing that. Those are the only reasons I am holding back from five stars. Would I come back? Absolutely. Just maybe for a special occasion when I am ready to treat myself. Highly recommend if you want something a little different and packed with flavor.

The flavor is balanced, not too salty, not too spicy, in which would be great for my bule friends, but a bit bland for my palate. Beautiful interior decor and design. Overall, I will try another Indo restaurant in my next NoCal work function. Parking sucks. On the street, visa mastercard and coins only. Of course I got a parking tix because I didnt have enough coins. When I arrived, exactly at 5, I was the only one there and the owner/ manager was there too, sitting at the bar. We've tried many Thai restaurants locally, and this one truly stands out. The portions are generous, which is rare since many Thai restaurants tend to serve smaller portions. I ordered Prawn Sarong (shrimp w/ bacon) and Pad Woosen (glass noodles w/ chicken, mushroom++). There's also a great variety of dishes on the menu, so there's something for everyone. The restaurant itself is very clean, and the customer service is fantastic. Ko, the owner, was especially kind and a pleasure to talk with, which made the experience even better. Please support this wonderful local business. It's rare these days to find a restaurant that delivers both excellent food and great value, and this place absolutely does. For Filipinos out there, they serve Crispy Pata for $18. Give it a try!
