    Prime Rib
    Gregg Y.

I'm definitely missing something because I had a great experience here. I ordered the 10oz Prime Rib (medium). It was a prime rib, and it was cooked to medium. It was delicious. Tender, flavorful. I was expecting to add salt, but it didn't need it. The mashed potatoes were fine. The fried onions were confusing so I'm knocking half a star just for that. Our server was very kind and checked on our table regularly. Regardless of where you sit there is a mild "roar" of noise, but nothing so loud you notice. What makes this dining experience so memorable is how different it is compared to the overall consensus on yelp. I'll chalk this up to getting very very lucky?

Getting your meat done right... There's a split among my friends on the Keg, in regards of likes and dislikes but I personally enjoy the consistency of this chain. As far back as I can remember, any mistake or unsatisfactory were made right. Anyways, first time visiting this location since I was in the mood for some appies and meat. This place is located in south Surrey on 200th street, same plaza as Sungiven and Tap & Barrel. There are plentiful of free plaza parkings available. Inside has the same layout and concept as most Kegs; tables and semi booth seats by the bar with TVs, to the back are the main dining area with the tables and booth seats. Here were the food I ordered; 1. Complimentary bread with butter. Always nice and warm. 2. French onion soup. A nice and hearty soup with a nice layer of baked cheese on top. Good for the cold or rainy days. 3. Prawn cocktail. Good size with a fresh light crunch to it. 4. Mushroom Neptune. Always one of my favourite here, I personally think one of the better ones compared to other places. 5. Scallops and bacon. It was okay, the bacon a bit overcooked, became too crispy. 6. 10oz prime rib with snow crab clusters. One of the juiciest and tenderest prime rib I had in a long time, even compared to other locations. However the snow crab was quite dry. 7. 7oz filet mignon with snow crab clusters. It was tender and nicely done as usual, but once again the snow crab was quite dry. Overall, the atmosphere was quite casual and relaxing. The energy was friendly and positive with minimal noises even though seated close to the bar. The service was quite attentive and good which made the dining experience here more enjoyable. As for the food; the appies were good, the steaks were tender and juicy, the snow crabs however were quite dry and disappointing. Nevertheless, if you want your meat done right, the Keg it is for its consistency.

It was a cold and heavy rainy night. I was surprised the steakhouse was very busy. It had a nice atmosphere but rather loud which quieted down later. Reservations were made and we arrived a bit early so we had about a 5 to 10 minute wait. Victoria was our waitress and she was fantastic. Drink orders taken right away while we looked at the menu. When she returned we ordered our food. Sourdough bread was brought to the table between the drink and dinner order. She answered all our questions about the food that we wanted and did not want. Caesar salads came and a wedge salad were served up. The wedge salad was great with real bacon cut up. The Caesar salads a bit too much dressing for my liking. The lobster bisque soup was ordered and maybe it was the bowl size but it looked very small. It looked very creamy and I was advised it was delicious. Two of us had the prime rib. I asked for it rare and the waitress advise she will try to get a rare cut as most were medium rare. The steaks were excellent and cooked to everyone's satisfaction. There was no room for dessert. Prices of everything is above average but that was expected for a steakhouse. Still with all the great service and nice food there are restaurants out there that are cheaper with the same great service and food. We all agreed it was great but not worth it to come back.

It's been awhile since I have been in a Keg but received a gift card . Not disappointed! Very friendly welcoming front door greeting from everyone that felt genuine. Maddy our server was absolutely amazing in all aspects of being customer friendly. The room was just the right shade of dark to feel relaxed after a very long day of working ! Prime rib melted in my mouth !! Highly recommend this location for a wonderful night out !!

Do you really think you can cut a steak with these utensils and use these napkins for take out?

I always find food delicious. We bed to do take out and food is always prepared to what's required. When you need cutlery and napkins what they give you is definitely not good. How are you suppose to cut a steak with these utensils. and how are we suppose to use these cocktail napkins with the meal?

Another fabulous dinner. Our 41st wedding anniversary dinner didn't disappoint us we both decided to order the Filet Mignon cooked perfectly. Great service by Montana poured our wine like a pro. Nice ambiance that evening not noisy. Always terrific at this Keg that's why we keep going back.

The pie, the soup, and the bread were all excellent. The main course was not as good as I expected I give it four stars but I expected five stars.

I'm so glad they had their patio open when they shut down indoors at all restaurants last week. We had a great dinner here and it felt good to support the staff as it's pretty rough for a lot of service workers right now. Tip them well!!! The Prime Rib was prepared to perfection!! The Keg is second to none for Prime Rib but that evening it was the best, the best I tell you. One of the greatest Prime Rib meals I've ever had!! I added on asparagus and fried mushrooms with a loaded baked potato and they have the incredible onion crisps. Wash all that goodness down with a Four Winds IPA and what a meal !! My wife had the Crab dinner and once again the Crab at the Keg is always Great! Our server was excellent! I'm really glad we went as it was a fantastic dining experience.

So disappointed in our meals tonight..... wedge salad is definitely much smaller than usual. The sirloin in bone was too tough even for medium, the keg burger parities was too hard and over cooked- You guys need to do better. Sorry, but.... please consider this said with love. On the other hand, I am giving you 2 stars because the service is always very good!

As always, the Keg is a nice spot for a nice but not over the top date night. The food and service is always consistent. The restaurant always tends to be a tad on the loud side but that just mans you can get closer to your date. The ribs were fall off the bone and delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection. I don't know what it is about the Keg but they always manage to make the perfect baked potato. I am already planning another visit for this Friday!

This is definitely not my first time at The Keg and it will definitely not be my last. My family and I planned to spend our Easter dinner here. After reading the reviews and knowing that it was the long weekend, I booked a reservation online. It was quick, easy, and confirmed right away. Everyone needs to do this, regardless of the day - it will save you the hassle and hanger pains from waiting. This location is super convenient if you live in Surrey or the surrounding areas. When you exit off the highway, it's hard to miss! Our reservation was for 5:45, but we arrived a bit earlier. For a Sunday evening during the long weekend, it was quickly getting busy, so I'm really happy that I made a reservation. We were sat right away in a cozy booth towards the back. Andre our server came by right away to drop off water. It's almost impossible for me to come to the Keg and not get a glass of wine. So I went with my usual - the Stoneleigh Sauvignon Blanc in Keg Size of course. My dad grabbed the Granville Island Winter Ale, which I quite liked. For food, we got the calamari to share. I'm not a big red meat/steak eater, so for my main dish I got the pistachio crusted salmon with a twice baked potato as my side. This dish has to be my favourite meal I've had at The Keg. First of all, the salmon is coated in a maple butter, which complimented the entire dish SO well. It was the perfect mix of salty and sweet. I was in heaven. There were also bacon wrapped brussel sprouts, which were delicious. I think I found my new go to Keg dish. Andre was great. He was attentive and kind, which made our experience even better. One thing that lacked though were the water refills. I know I was mostly drinking wine, but it would've been nice to have more water throughout my meal. Besides that, service was fantastic. Overall, the Keg is one of my family's favourite restaurants, so I can guarantee I'll be back very soon. Thanks for an awesome Easter dinner, friends!

Knowing it would be a busy day, I made a reservation in advance, which I'm glad I did. This restaurant had fairly good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, I was a little surprised. The restaurant was much more casual than I expected, and the ambiance felt a bit dated. We ordered the half dozen fresh oysters, spinach salad, seafood linguine, and the Creole chicken. Unfortunately, the oysters were disappointing. They weren't as plump or flavorful as the fresh oysters I've had in Vancouver, and they were served with tobiko, which I've never seen paired with oysters before. It wasn't a combination I enjoyed. The spinach salad was good, although I thought it was a bit overdressed. The seafood linguine was also enjoyable, with a generous amount of seafood, though I wasn't expecting it to be made with pesto sauce. It was still a tasty dish. The Creole chicken was just okay--the chicken breast was a bit dry, but the sauce helped make up for it. Overall, I felt the prices were a bit high for the quality of the food and the casual atmosphere. It may be a good option by White Rock standards, but if this restaurant were in Vancouver, I don't think it would stand out. That said, the service was excellent. Our server was genuinely friendly, attentive, and provided the best part of our dining experience.

And while there are no shortage of seafood restaurants serving fresh crab on the Steveston waterfront, we wanted to give The Crab King a fair shake. I'm so glad that we did! My wife ordered a King Crab for herself which, after tearing it literally limb-from-limb, eventually declared it to be tied for her favorite boiled crab dish anywhere! High praise coming from such a consummate crustacean connoisseur! For myself and our son, an order of fish and chips, and the grilled chicken sandwich rounded out our order, both of which were crispy, tasty and delicious. Regarding the fish and chips, they appeared to be tempura-battered, and I'm still not 100% sure what type of fish it was. It may have been cod, but it seemed more like catfish, but either way, it was tender, juicy, flaky and delicious. No complaints here! More than anything, though, the employees here went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. Our toddler son, who is normally extremely well-behaved in restaurants, was having a bit of a fuss here and there. Without prompting, the servers brought us a little radio to play music for him, as well as a couple of toys to play with, one of them being a wind-up truck that they gave to him to take home! He loved it there, and still plays with it at home! They even played peek-a-boo with him from behind the counter, soliciting laughs and giggles, for the better part of 15 minutes! That sort of customer service is nearly impossible to find, and should be praised and cherished wherever it is found! Whatever the past may have held for this restaurant, the Crab King is an entirely new animal now, serving up fresh seafood by uncommonly wonderful employees, in a fantastic floating location. They even offer to cook spot prawns and other seafood purchased from the boats docked at the nearby waterfront marketplace, for a modest fee. With all these things going for it, there's no doubt who wears the crown of Crab King in Steveston Harbor!

In addition to South Surrey, they have 4 other locations the greater Vancouver area (Robson, Broadway & Oak, Kitsilano, and Davie). Up until this point, I had never tried Malaysian Cuisine, was always curious, but it just never happened. On a side note, I remember the first time I tried Thai food, back in Nashville when I was in my mid 30s. Odd that it took me that long and even odder considering I grew up in Brooklyn and New York City, the melting pot of the country. I didn't really have a concept of the distinction between different types of Asian food, my only point of reference was Chinese food. I remember being blown away upon that first time trying Thai food (and hooked ever since) and the experience was quite the same with my experience with Malaysian cuisine. We meant to order two appetizers but through a miscommunication, actually ordered three, oops! It was a good problem to have. Between the appetizers and the main dishes, while each course was a generous serving, nothing was heavy or made me feel bloated in any way. At the same time, the flavors just seemed to burst, with very distinct and pleasing tastes while combined with beautifully decorative touches that were aesthetically appetizing! The Eggplant Fries were really interesting. Personally, I find eggplant can be challenging to work, to get flavored just right and get cooked enough so it's not rough to eat but not cooked so much that it becomes mushy. Maybe it's just me but I do struggle with that at times. I found the fries to be a perfect balance between firm enough to warrant being called "fries" with just the right amount of chew, not too mushy. The Spring Roll Lettuce Wraps were beautiful, creative and imaginative. You place the spring roll inside the lettuce along with the vibrant red cabbage, fold the lettuce and dip into the sauce *chef's kiss* Both the Tofu Goreng appetizer and Tumeric Coconut Spinach were bursting with flavor. The Pineapple Fried Rice also had an amazing depth of flavor along with the beautiful presentation inside the pineapple. Last, but definitely not least .. I've never had anything like their Mango Margarita. As clear to see in the picture, it's filled with fresh ripe whole mango pieces which really helped elevate this drink to the next stratosphere lol. If this is what I can expect when eating Malaysian Cuisine, count me in for a repeat performance!

I would skip the lunch tasting course. It was a bit misleading since it says multiple courses, but…read moreeverything just comes out on one plate. I didn't really enjoy most of the items, and the dessert was only okay. That said, their chicken and rice is absolutely delicious and worth coming back for. The ambiance is cute, and the service is good. I'd return, but only for the chicken and rice.

I ordered the Float30 Seafood Chowder, which was rich, creamy and filled with clams, smoked mussels, salmon, snapper, prawns, bacon, corn, red pepper and potatoes. It was served with grilled sourdough and was absolutely fresh and delicious! My friend ordered the bestselling West Coast Link Cod & Chips. The cod had a wonderfully light and crispy tempura-style batter and came with house-cut fries, coleslaw and tartar sauce. She really enjoyed it! We also had the Strawberry Mojito mocktails, which made us feel as though we were relaxing somewhere in Mexico. They were soooo good and incredibly refreshing! The waitstaff were very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, which made our first visit even more enjoyable. We loved everything so much that, before leaving, I ordered another seafood chowder to take home for my husband, as well as the Link Cod & Chips for my son! A wonderful first experience at Float30. I'll definitely be returning and highly recommend it!
