I am very disappointed with this location. I usually go to the Kickin' Crab in Los Angeles on Crenshaw and Stocker and have never been turned away the way I was turned away here in Riverside. I called and placed an order on Saturday, May 23rd at approximately 8:35 PM (I was unaware the business closed at 9:00 PM) and since my order was greater than $75 it could not prepared until I got there. Now being it was close to closing time the gentleman on the phone ENSURED me that they would still prepare my order once I arrived although it was close to closing. I arrived at the location at 9:02 PM and was informed that my order could NOT be prepared because they were closed and the kitchen was CLEAN!! I DROVE 30 minutes to the location only to be turned away! They kept saying the kitchen was "cleaned" and everything was put away at 9:02 PM yet there were customers sitting in their cars waiting for their orders and the staff calling out order numbers in the parking lot! Luckily, my sister reminded me of the Shrimp Factory that was only a 6 minute drive from Kickin' Crab and closed at 10 PM and $10 cheaper!! Very disappointed!!! read more

My daughters and I ate here for dinner. The food was good as usual. When we arrived we were told it would be a 30+ minute wait. It is always frustrating to me when I see several tables open and clean with people waiting for a seat. It too the staff about 20 minutes to fill the empty tables. We were seated in a table that was open and clean when we arrived. The waiter was friendly however our appetizer came out at the same time as the entree, and our soups after that. The food is excellent, the service was adequate but the ambiance is less than desired. Food is placed on the table the is covered with a plastic/paper table cloth which is a great way to eat it your seafood broil. It is pricey but it was good. read more

What is FRESH-FROZEN? If the following is not the case when ordering a crab is true please let us know BEFORE ordering: 1. Crab is alive. 2. Customer orders crab. 3. Crab is "prepared" for customer. 4. Same crab is cooked and served fresh. This restaurant lets you know when the crawfish is frozen but does not let you know when the crab is frozen. Why? The menu is a contract between the customer and the business. Customers agree to pay a price for a certain product made to a certain consistent standard. When this does not happen there's a problem. There is a problem with the Kickin Crab. I spoke with my server, and the manager on May 7, 2022 and there was no solution given to this problem. This is unacceptable. I also told him how some shrimp was mushy while others were properly cooked and springy. For anyone eating here I would advise to ask the proper questions and be ready. I love all their sauce and seafood is always cooked right . Ordered pick up for Dungeness crab , shrimp and mussels . Everything came out good except the inside of the crab has a lot of black stuff inside . it smelled a little weird too so ended up not eating the crab . Everything else taste good . I went in on a Sunday night and I was able to get seated within 5 minutes. I forgot our server's name but he was very attentive and checked up on us here and there. I also appreciated it when he let us know that he'd be going on a short break and to notify another server if we ever needed anything.
