Also I tried calling the restaurant myself first and no reply, you can come up with the excuses you like but you are wrong. Food isn't bad. But they delivery is consistently sooooooooo slow. And they do not reach out to let you know they have issues with delivery staff and set proper expectations. It's not cool to wait 90 mins for delivery 3 miles away only to call to follow up and be told it's on its way and then have to wait an additional 30-45. A few weeks ago we ordered from The Kitchen but opted for pick up instead of delivery. Order was ready within 15-20 min. Quality is still decent--particularly the sinfully good fries. We also recommend the burgers, especially the salmon burger. The new menu features healthier options, including a broader selection of salads. When I picked up our order, there weren't any updated delivery menus ready yet. Hopefully, there will be soon. Speaking of delivery, recent reviews indicate it's still not great. The Kitchen is one of the finest places for takeout in the entire Woodlawn and McLean area. They have a great menu of delicious sandwiches. I've tried almost all of them, and never been disappointed. I also strongly recommend their french fries -- perfectly crisp with just a tiny bit of spice. I honestly think they have the best fries ("chips") in the neighborhood. They also have an assortment of healthy options that actually taste good (salads, smoothies, etc.), which is a nice addition to the usual takeout style. And, on the complete opposite end of healthy, their profiteroles must be tried! But in addition to the high quality of the food they serve, Jackie and Lucas (the owners) asked to meet with the board of the Woodlawn Taxpayers when they took over this location, to get advice on ways their restaurant could be a good neighbor to the residents of Woodlawn. Over an hour for delivery, which kinda sucks when you're super hungry, but the food was very, VERY good. It's nice to see a variation of types of food off the menu. I did feel that $1 extra for onions on my ham, mushroom and cheddar sandwich (subbed the fresh mozzarella for the cheddar) was a little much for what they put on there. This restaurant is usually very good, and they're open late which is super convenient. I was quite disappointed when I ordered the chicken curry with rice dinner recently. I got 5 tiny chunks of chicken with rice and curry sauce for 12.50. I will definitely never order that dish again, but their sandwiches are awesome, and I love their derry box. Their plain old curry chicken chunks (breaded, not a meal) are usually pretty good too. If it was my first experience with The Kitchen, after receiving that curry chicken dinner they would have gotten 2 stars, but I still like the restaurant and I'll just order other things. read more

Ordered here for the first time last night, very disappointed. Ordered food at 8.45pm and at 10pm rang and asked was our food going to be much longer and the girl on the phone said our food was just out of the kitchen and they were waiting for a driver which was fair enough. Our food finally arrived at 10.45pm it was freezing cold we couldn't eat it. I rang them again explaining the situation, got no apology I was just told that the food was sent straight to us out of the kitchen. The girl I was speaking to told me she had to speak to her boss and that she would ring me back. I got no phone call back just an email this morning saying a refund was issued. I am very disappointed with the customer service and would have appreciated a phone call as I did explain on the phone that I found the food and service very poor. read more

I ordered via grub hub to my dismay it took way too long and when I tried to contact them they hung up on me . the driver arrived smoking marijuana in front my home and at my doorstep maybe that's why it took so damn long, my food was cold I wouldn't care if he smoked that's his business but when I am watching u smoke in front my home from my living room window and then you call me and I get to my door and u don't even hide it, just stinking of weed. And I can smell it I'm gonna be honest this upset me, cuz I'm hungry I'm up waiting and my food is getting cold - so yes my food arrived cold I got some chewy chips and bland guacamole with a cold veggie burger and instead of calling me and telling me they are out of brownies they send me a giant cookie I did not want a big cookie I paid for a brownie so they should refund me , or offer me the option to exchange but nope not this lazy staff. do not waste your money, my burnt chewy chips tasted somewhat stale and had a burned French fry in it as u can see in the photos read more

Waffle burger sounds great on paper, but the overall execution was poor. Burger was dry, and the waffle was really just a bun in the shape of a waffle (no taste whatsoever). They were out of regular fries, so I opted for sweet potato fries, which came in a large quantity but were very soggy. Overall, the order came out to $14, which I thought was ridiculous compared to other places in the area. The place itself didn't look very clean, which is odd for a place that's only been open for a few months. Given the number of quality food options in Woodlawn, you can do better than overpriced food that doesn't seem like it was made with a lot of effort. read more

The waffle Burger is a bit messy, so I advise having a fork & knife nearby but the waffle texture adds a nice dimension. However, this the second time I had a burger & both times I didn't receive lettuce, tomatoes, & onions, which is suppose to come for all the burger options as well as burgers usually come with a side like fries, onion rings, etc. Overall, I did enjoy the burger! read more

Update: Got a turkey burger. It was pretty good, but expensive. For a turkey cheeseburger and a side of mash came to $14. Once they get a few more reviews I'll probably drop a star for charging for lettuce and tomato on a burger ($1.25 no less!). What world do we live in that lettuce and tomato doesn't come with a burger? Mash was really good! My next order will probably be the beef stew over the mash. If they allowed a 3.5 Star review, this would be it. I rounded up since they're new. Place is modern, trendy and (seemed) reasonably priced. They gave me the wrong order at first. It happens. This is one of the few places in yonkers that serve seasoned/tastey food. Every time i've ordered from here the food was always great! It's hard to deliver a sunny side up egg that's still runny in the middle and they seem to never fail me. My favorites which are always changing are the pork melt and the grilled cheese with the garlic sauce drool*. Stopped by after the Yonkers parade around 10. Katonah Avenue was packed and the celebration was still in full swing. The shop was crowded but I was so impressed how cheerful the staff was. My phone died they hooked me up immediately. I placed my order figuring id have a long wait with the crowd but did not care my phone was charging anyway but I got my order in a few minutes.
