What an amazing place! Came here due to the great reviews and did not disappoint. Me and my husband both had the breakfast sandwiches ( mine with bacon - he tried the shaved ribeye). They offer choices of breads when was nice. The shaved ribeye was a unique offering and very tasty. The owners were friendly as were the other customers willing to share their knowledge of St Augustine. The coffee was excellent. The price is affordable. Nice job Zaba's. We will be back. read more

I didn't know which latte I wanted, and he didn't rush me. The bagel was what you'd expect: nothing fancy or special, but it hit the spot. The latte was yummy. Perhaps the best find since arriving in the area! Small diner, 1 of 1, very much local color and feel. It's places like Zaba's that give a tourist area some depth. The owner served us, was gracious and provided us a working knowledge of the datil pepper and its history. He also has a range of self-made sauces and a mustard that will change your life (for the better, if there were any doubt). Keep your eyes opened. It's small and easy to miss but worth the hunt to find. We had bacon n potato burrito and mango smoothie ...delish. Also had to try the grilled donut. not a huge menu but everything they serve is really good. Plan on trying the grilled cheese with prime rib shavings next time I go. You can go up the street to the diner, which will charge you double, and it has not a half an ounce of character that this place has. It's not so much that it's half the price for breakfast, but their coffee is better. There are seats for a dozen at most. Elbow to elbow. But it has definite character, characters, and their sign is too small. Up the street, you can get a bit of a manufactured feeling, served half cold, bless your heart. The bicuits are doughy, but not here. The chef knows his trade and does it well, again, for half the price and pretension. read more
