Located downstairs to the left of the ground floor, it displays a succulent porchetta roast in the window. This immediately caught my attention. Known for its poutines, the Kroft has an extensive selection. But, I went for the porchetta sandwich hoping to satiate my taste for the one they have at Roli Roti up north! Service is friendly and quick. They give you a beeper (looks like an old Nokia phone). Ready in 5 mins. A little disappointing that the large piece of ciabatta overwhelmed the pieces of meat (chopped up so small it was dried out) and the few leaves of spinach (but the menu says "arugula!"). Where's the pork?! The pesto sauce really stood out. If not for that, then it would not have been tasty at all. Hopefully next time I can update the review after a few more tastings. WHY DO YOU NOT EXIST IN SF?? It might seem a little ridiculous, but every time I visit the Packing House, I go to The Kroft, and it's poutine time. While the short rib one is delicious and reminds me of Chinese-style braised beef, the country fried chicken poutine is the way to go. I mean, how can you can wrong with giant chunks of fried chicken, cheese curds, twice-fried fries, country gravy, giant bits of crunchy bacon, and chopped green onions to boot. Honestly, it'll give you a heart attack, but you'll die happy...and full of cholesterol. They also do free refills on sodas, so you can just hang out and eat and drink to happy contentment. I also have to advocate for their brussel sprouts and bacon. For under $10, you get ridiculous portions of sauteed veggies and bacon. I cannot say enough good things about this place. You also don't have to wait very long for food. So. Much. Win. And, wi-fi and parking for Packing House are always free (don't valet; waste of your money). You'll thank me later. read more

Had a bite of the prime rib sandwich, a little plain looking initially, but soooooo tasty! Also had the fried chicken sandwich. That jalapeno cole slaw is amazing! This place serves poutines and sandwiches... all inspired by comfort food, however I can only base this review on the single most wonderful thing on their menu: the Short Rib Poutine! I have been here several times, but I can't seem to get away from ordering this dish. The poutine has its traditional French fries, cheese curds, and gravy however they added some tender chunks of short rib, mushrooms, and some pickled red onion (which I sometimes order without). This is definitely comfort for me, it kind of reminds me of my aunty's Hawaiian pot roast, but on top of french fries accompanied with my favorite food in the world...CHEESE! Every time I come to the Kroft I tell myself I am going to try one of the other poutines like the Chicken Pot Fries, the Loco Moco poutine, or the Country Fried Chicken... but I haven't quite gotten there yet. I will definitely expand on my review when I venture away from the Short Rib poutine. You will probably be happy with whatever you order there. They are made to order and quick. Five stars for the Kroft and it's food. However I docked a star bc location is inside the Anaheim packing thingy. And there is a tiny parking lot that can't handle the actual occupancy limit of the building and valet is $7. Also if you park on the street adjacent, beware bc a citation dude comes at least once every night to write fines and tickets or whatever. It's been four years since I last came here and I'm pretty sure four years ago I saw a citation officer too so yeah...they are diligent about giving fines. I drove around for about ten minutes with no parking and finally gave up and had my sister drive around while I ran in to get the food. Food came really fast. It was good. They didn't have the hot Cheeto cheese curds which is fine bc I was being hungry eyed and didn't even finish half of my braised beef poutine. It was $14 but def well worth the price for the quality and amount of food. And then I found out there is a Long Beach location so yeah probably going to go to Long Beach location when I come back from school bc Anaheim is not it. Hope this helps. During COVID-19, glad to know some of these establishments are still doing a great job. Had the braised beef poutine which was packed with flavor and tender beef. I wish the cheese curds were a little bit melted before I got it but overall, great texture on the fries, pickled onions were fantastic, and the service was quick. Coincidentally a devotee of chicken pot pie, I knew the Chicken Pot Pie Poutine was the one for me. It was around $8 for a huuuuge serving- reasonable size for two to split as a larger portion snack. I thought I would be able to conquer it myself...but I was wrong..The wait took about 40 minutes given that there was only one person at the register and that it was a packed Sunday a few weeks after their grand opening. So, by the time I got my food, I was starving and R E A D Y to dig in! The fries come in a cute 'lil recyclable cardboard take-out box, convenient for those who have leftovers. The Chicken Pot Poutine came out hot with thick-cut fries, white gravy, baby peas, onions, baby carrots, and some other ingredients I can't remember. It tasted like what the name claims it to be, so *TWO THUMBS UP* for that! I would definitely recommend the hot-sauce (unlabeled but probably Tabasco/Cholula-most likely Tabasco because, honey, I know mah hot sauces!) The poutine was a great size and based off of the ingredient list you would expect this to be incredibly delicious but sadly the poutine lacked the explosive flavors that I was expecting. It wasn't necessarily bland but it wasnt bursting with the savory flavors from the gravy and short ribs or the bite you wanted from the pickled red onions. The chicken sandwich on the other hand was better, had a good spice to it but wasnt over the top. Funny how your review resembles other reviews but it only reflects that multiple people share the same feelings about this place. It's good but my opinion on the place may have fallen victim to overhype. Once again a Palermo eat that is very helpful when it comes to a food allergies. Located in the packing district it is the first floor but feels more like under ground in a way. There will be a set of stairs on your right with a platform in the middle for live entertainment. Make a left and just past the swings on your left is the Kroft The people there are not only very friendly but very helpful as well. When I go somewhere new it is always with my other half who is of course VERY allergic to any and every milk product. So of course he is asking questions and another worker comes over and starts making suggestions because he says a prime ribeye would be very boring with just the meat. So we found him a really good sandwich that he could eat. Over all it has been a very good experience. I will come back and bring others to come eat here as well. read more

This place did not disappoint!!! There was only a 10 minute wait to order on Holiday weekend. We tried the delicious Porchette sandwhich, the short rib Poutine and the cheese curds. The Porchette was delicious and full if yummy pork flavor with a meld of pesto and caramlized onions. This was our first US Poutine and it was pretty damn good (for a Canadian dish). The meat was juicy and there was just enough gravy to cheese ratio on the crispy fries. We also like the fried cheese curds. We love squeaky cheese and better when it's fried. Gave this place a second chance and I'm glad I did! I know that I was a little hard on them the first time around but it seems like the Kroft really has it's stuff together now. I had the chicken pot fries which were soooo good. The fries were even crispy underneath all that pot pie filling. I also had the Dip sandwich because that's what I had last I time. I was all too excited to come here because I rarely get a change to drive up to Anaheim. There are not many places that specialize in poutine and I wanted to compare The Kroft to Smoke's Poutinerie in Hollywood, which has been the best poutine I've had so far. Let me start off by saying you get A LOT of food. Well more specifically you get a lot of fries. One poutine is really enough for 2 people. We got 2 and we finished about 1 whole poutine. We got the Loco Moco Poutine and the Japanese Katsu Curry. They were both good in the sense that the fries were cook well and seasoned, but where it was lacking was in everything else. I wanted it to be drowning in gravy, but there wasn't enough gravy to go around. Same thing with the katsu curry. I got a good amount of chicken, but lacked curry. I wanted lots and lots of cheese curds just melting away by hot gravy, but I didn't get enough cheese either. With the Loco Moco I was expecting something of a burger patty, but instead I got more of a meatloaf. I ended up full and not satisfied. The Kroft was also the 1st time I tried a sour beer and that was simply awful. Smoke's Poutinerie blows The Kroft out of the water. There has to be an even amount of fries to gravy to cheese curd ratio and unfortunately The Kroft is all fries and no bite. read more

Fair warning, the only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because I have spoiled since visiting British Columbia in June. BUT this place is pretty good if you need a quick fix. It's located in the Anaheim Packing District and has one of the longest lines for a reason. If you have room, get the prime rib dip sandwich. Today around 6pm (May 23) we came in and the lady that's in charge of the counter was extremely rude. I ordered the new Cubano and was given a French dip without the au jus sauce. After the first bite I realized it was definitely not pulled pork. At that moment they brought me the correct sandwich. The cubano was not pulled pork, but more of a minced (mushy) pork. The flavors came from the pickle and mustard. Anyway, definitely not a fan and will not be having lunch here again. I took seven bites and gave it away. There is not enough gravy given to overcome the overpowering taste of basic fries and really bad pulled short ribs. The pulled short ribs taste like they came straight from a can. The gravy tasted the same as last time, it tasted like KFC gravy. Are they collaborating together?!? Those cheese curds finally squeeked but it doesn't help the fact that everything else is bad. Even the McDodnalds Poutine in Canada is better than the Kroft Poutine. BOTTOM LINE: Save yourself $9.77 and go to a place called Quebec Montreal Poutine in Newport Beach if you want authentic poutine. We decided to share the Fried Chicken Poutine, as the cashier said it was sizable enough for two. We got the food fairly quick, and dug right in, and it was delicious!
