It has been a while since I was last back at The Kroft, but I still want to give them my review! It's a quaint little stall inside the Anaheim Packing District specialising in Poutine and other comfort foods. I ordered the Birria Poutine while I was here, although I believe the item was limited edition and is no longer served, but you could probably get something similar like the braised beef poutine. I think it's such a fascinating idea combining both poutine and birria together and I'm sure you wouldn't really find this anywhere else, so of course I had to order it! The meat was tender and juicy, and it paired well with the other toppings such as the parsley and the sauce that came with it. Fries were good too but nothing special. Poutine here is good, but I've definitely had a lot better poutine especially back in Canada (although it's kind of a given that it would be better in Canada). Went to the Kroft in the Anaheim Packing District for a YELP Elite event. It's been a minute since I was last at The Packing District, but it is always great to be back there. The Kroft was clean, tables were wiped down, everything looked neat and tidy. I ordered the Cheesesteak on the recommendation of the person at the counter. She was very kind, friendly and knowledgeable about the entire menu. My companion had the BBQ Pork Smashburger. Shared an order of the truffle garlic fries and had 2 fountain drinks. Unfortunately, my cheesesteak was not really all that good. The meat was cooked until it was crispy and dry. The cheese and the sauce seemed to only be on part of the bun, not all the way through it, so it was really dry in parts of the sandwich. The truffle garlic fries had a nice crisp to them and had a good garlic flavor overall but couldn't taste the truffle at all. The pork Smashburger was really good, way better than my sandwich for sure. My recommendation would be to get one of the Smashburger's and make it a combo for $4 more. I would really like to go back and try some other things, maybe my sandwich was just an odd anomaly, but it did kind of leave a bad taste in my mouth due to it being so overcooked. Always love going to the Kroft! It's the only place that I can get my poutine fix and is always super delicious. Portions are good for the price. I usually get the braised beef but decided to try the katsu curry poutine. Chicken was a bit salty but overall was still really good. I typically go to the kroft for their poutines. My go to poutine is the country fried chicken poutine. In my recent order there was barely any fried chicken. The batter was falling off of the chicken. The cheese curds weren't even melted and they looked like old cheese it wasn't white color cheese it was almost translucent. There wasn't much gravy. I am glad it wasn't the only thing I ordered that day. I also order their Wagyu spicy Jack smash burger combo. I upgrade the fries to garlic fries which were delicious and flavorful. I wish I had ordered a whole order of garlic fries instead of the poutine. The burger was also good but it wasn't spicy and there was only 3 mushrooms basically the toppings it was supposed to come to with was very lacking. The service was very friendly and fast. read more

Came here for dinner yesterday right before the rush. We to the Anaheim Packing district a few weeks ago and I said I would return to get a Kroft sandwich. I ordered a proscetta sandwich for the hubby and since I have never tried wagyu meat before I decided to get the spicy Jack smashed burger and a side of French fries. We have been here a few times before and their food does not disappoint. They have been here at the packing district since it first opened. Anyways back to the food. The spicy jack wagyu smashed burger was delicious!!! It wasn't too spicy and the edges were so nice and crispy. The fries were perfectly fried and with a hint of salt. I gave it another shot this time doing something my French Canadian wife would consider blasphemous, I ordered a chicken parmesan poutine. Now, I have had real poutine, and this wasn't it, but that's OK. Instead is was perhaps inspired by the idea of poutine, chicken nuggets, fried cheese curds, and marinara sauce over fries. And it was good. Back when the Kroft was in Tustin as well, I tried a couple of their poutine variations, and those were also good. It was my first time at Anaheim Packing house and I couldn't make up my mind among all the food choices so I settled on The Kroft and honestly it was just okay. The smash burger was nothing special, just two smashed patties with cheese, pickles, and onions on a bun. I would have liked lettuce and tomato on my burger but didn't realize it ask of that was an option. Truthfully, the burgers looked better in the menu photos than in person. I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese and that was as basic as they come. Yay or nay? 1/2 Tried their Cheeseburger Egg rolls and their Spicy Double Cheese Smash Burger that they claim is made with wagyu beef (available for a limited time, not on permanent menu). The burger was okay. The patties were very overcooked and bland. The rest of the ingredients didn't help much either. They added some sort of sauce but it was only on a tiny portion of the burger. Only one bite was somewhat enjoyable while the rest was very bland. Added some ketchup but it didn't help much when the patties were made with such little care. Most of the fries were lukewarm and some were cold even though the location is tiny and I picked up my order quickly. Sucks because the fries were the only item that were properly seasoned and had a good texture. The cheeseburger egg rolls were just a straight lie. There was no cheese in them at all. They were served piping hot at least, but the beef filling was just spicy beef with no real flavor. No sauce or dip of any kind came with them. Tried a bit of the Poutine, which I believe was the braised rib one, and it was okay. Bit bland. Not enough cheese curds. I wouldn't reorder anything again. The only enjoyable item I had was the Raspberry Iced Tea lol A buddy of mine mentioned that his Porchetta sandwich was good in terms of the meat but that the bread sucked. He said it tasted like slightly old store bought bread. Two large tables that could seat up to six people and I believe they had another two tables for 2 people. The two large tables are too close together though. Luckily our party was 3 and the people behind us were also 3-4 so we had space. Chairs weren't very comfy. Staff wasn't friendly, but also not rude. They just seemed like they didn't want to be there. I wish they'd leave so someone else can make some better food lol There wasn't sufficient parking spaces available for this spot, but that isn't really the fault of this location in particular. Only 1/3 of us was able to get free parking. The majority of the spaces were valet only for 7 bucks. Plan to return? 0/1 Nope. For the toppings, there were onions, cilantro, and crema. I wanted just a little more cheese. - Loco Moco. It needed more cheese and gravy, which was puzzling for a poutine. There was a good amount of ground beef, but "wagyu" was kind of a buzz word since the ground beef chunks were not particularly juicy. It was a tasty bite nonetheless, especially with the green onions and crunchy fried onions. The fries also stayed crispy. Everything is overly greasy, no ingredients shine or even complement each other. The fries were stale and soggy.
