There is a new spot on Lake Minnetonka and it is definitely worth a visit!! Lost Bay is tucked into Tonka Bay and features a beautiful outdoor bar and patio seating area over looking the lake with plenty of spots to pull your boat up to. We came on a busy Sunday evening, Memorial Day Weekend, and put our name down for a table. We were told it would be a responsible 25-30 minute wait. A wait that only ended up being about 15 minutes. We were seated at a table right next to the water which we loved. Very promptly greeted by our server, Julie, who was awesome. She was extremely knowledgeable to the menu, made plenty of recommendations, and was very humorous making the visit even better. Started with the Loaded Nachos which were HUGE. They were piled high with all the goodies, plenty of queso, crispy chips, and extremely fresh ingredients. At first I was turned off by the $22 price tag but the size is actually a great value and they are perfect for probably 6-8 to share as an app or 2-4 to share as an entree. You can pop tan extra $10 for brisket, we just stuck with the ground beef. I also got the Stacked Club Sandwich which, again, was a massive portion. The deli meat tasted like it was freshly sliced and had a nice flavor. The lettuce and tomato were also very fresh tasting. Our first visit may be our last.... My draft beer was warm, so I had to order a canned of an IPA , so their beer system isn't working. (Used to sell them) My double smash burger came out as a single. And tasted like the burger was held in a steam table pan. The side salads were fine for a lakeside bar. I only post this in order for the owners ( supposed high end) just put some effort into this spot! read more

Was excited to check out the new food venture at the Caribbean Marina! Last years Tequila Butcher was a hit, but Lost Bay is a huge miss. First the atmosphere is lackluster, a few tiki umbrellas doesn't give a place atmosphere. The lack of attention to detail by not offering real plates or glasses really brought things down. The food itself was also pretty lackluster, overpriced and very bland. We ordered the chips and queso, but they were out so brought chips and guac without ever asking. The margaritas are overly salty and the mix was too sour. Finally the burger with side salad was also a miss, side salad was just lettuce and shaved Brussels sprouts, no veggies or cheese or anything. Burger was ok, only thing that was great were the onion rings. A bunch of friends have gone and said the same- don't waste your time! read more

We dropped by this place Memorial Day weekend while cruising on Lake Minnetonka. This place has been several different restaurants over the past few years, so we figured we'd check it out. Parking by boat is a little confusing because there are areas for getting gas and areas for parking at Lost Bay. It gets a little congested and you have to go through a little maze of dock to get to the restaurant. Lost Bay's wharf is pretty small, especially when compared to Lord Fletcher's and Maynard's. There is also not a great view of the lake...it's mainly just docks in your line of sight. There are two areas for seating, one that is uncovered, and one that is covered. We were sat in the covered area, which was fine. It was pretty hard to hear as there was loud EDM music playing on the speakers. It was a little off-putting that this woman right next to our table was hitting her vape constantly and then following up by coughing. It made the atmosphere a bit questionable. On the bright side, Lost Bay had several fun drink options that members of our group enjoyed. The food menu was pretty limited, and I ordered the nachos to share with my partner. It was a large portion, which was fair for $22. I'm not sure I'll be back, as there are several other options on the lake that I had a better experience at. read more

You go through a twisty turning neighborhood to get to Lost Bay. So don't think your going the wrong way. I am giving it 4 stars because everything comes in boats for the food, plastic cups for drinks and paper containers for dips. That was odd to me. They did good on presentation for the drinks. Would've looked better in a glass. JS. Doesn't make the food taste different because the food was really good! Easy packaging because it's a marina too. I get it. I ordered frose all day. A grown up slushy that I could have sucked on ALL DAY. It had rhubarb in it and packed a punch. My husband ordered the gold rush. For apps we had chips, guacamole and queso. The guac was good and the queso didn't stay hot long, but was tasty as well. We went right after a rain/hail storm(8/11/23) but they had everything wiped down and the tiki umbrellas were taken down. There is more seating outside than inside. For dinner we ordered the stacked club sandwich and the lost burger, both with fries. The fries were "fire" as they say. Hot and fresh. Everything tasted good. My husband had to dissect his sandwich because it was SO big he couldn't get his mouth around the whole thing. Our friends ordered a classic cheeseburger and the Buffalo fried chicken sandwich. Both enjoyed their meal as well. The ambiance was like sitting in your backyard. Nothing fancy and that's OK. The view of the lake was beautiful and quiet. Felt for the neighbors, which explains why the close at 9PM. Cute place, but I wouldn't want a restaurant in my backyard. We have now been here three times since the soft opening. The primary reason we go here is because like their predecessor Tequila Butcher, they allow dogs - and are the only lake restaurant to do so. Wow, is this place packed! Tequila Butcher was never like this. Get your name in and go get a drink at the bar. My wife loves their booze slushies and says they are strong. I am disapponted by their paltry beer selection, the best being the Modist Dreamyard IPA in a can. Great beer, but I can get the can at home. IMO, quality draft beer on the lake is mandatory, and more options for craft beer would be way better. I don't mind the $7 price. Service great. I don't know why there are so many employees and if it was just training them all at once. Food: I've had the falafel wrap (great), smoked salmon salad (very good) and ginormous beef nachos with super hot jalapenos (superb). I give that the Best Nachos on the Planet award, and I did not upgrade to the $10 brisket. My wife and others we met here all like the food, especially tge wraps and wings. Tacos are the only iffy items due to smaller size. Onion rings also get a call-out for being perfectly fried with just the right amount of grease. It would make a great State Fair staple and make this place a fortune. Prices fine. Actually cheaper than the other lake restaurants. Soft opening went surprisingly smoothly in terms of wait time not being that long despite huge crowds. So, five stars for allowing dogs, food and great staff. The only cons is the beer selection if you like great beer. See the other review about trying to get a docking spot, which is not Lost Bay's fault. Blame RSI Marine. They did that massive and much needed dock replacement 2-3 years ago, but did not add more restaurant slips. Be sure you check in with the dock hands and other boaters idling by, because some are waiting for gas, not the food. It can also be hairy getting your boat in with the big waves and wind, and that big boat tied up parallel on the right, and fairly active traffic on the left where the launch is, so beware. read more

In town visiting relatives and after some early morning boating we stopped at this newer place (looks like it just opened recently). We were able to snag a shady table on the patio on the Friday of the holiday weekend so we felt lucky. Our waitress was delightful. Super friendly and helpful. After we ordered some beers I got the buffalo fried chicken sandwich which was very good as were the crispy and hot French fries. My wife got the ham, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich which she like a lot. Prices were not bad for the zip code. The setting was great which often means food at places like this is average at best but this place was solid - hopefully they keep it up. I would eat here again. read more

Over the weekend while enjoying the fantastic weather out on the lake with friends, we stopped by Lost Bay for some drinks and dinner. This restaurant is right on the Caribbean Marina on Lake Minnetonka offering a lakeside patio with a Tiki Vibe restaurant with all your grub needs. The decor leans into the tiki theme and the menu reflects it as well with island inspired cocktails and fresh menu offerings. It was packed due to the weather and it being their opening weekend. They have private dock spots as well, so if out on the lake you can park your boat for during your meal. For it being their opening weekend we were extremely impressed. For drinks I tried two different cocktails - both of the frozen variety: Pillow Talk | We chose to have this served in a Pineapple with a frozen pineapple core which really brought us right to the caribbean. It had White Rum, Green Apple, Lime, and Pineapple. Saturn X Loko | Balance of bitter and sweet with Passionfruit, Lime, Pineapple, Gin, Falernum, and Orgeat. It reminded me a lot of a Mai Tai. For starters, we had the Loaded Brisket Nachos. Sadly, no pictures as we devoured these faster than I could even get my phone out. Honestly, these nachos are some of the BEST I've had in a long while. It has Seasoned Ground Beef, Queso, Black Olives, Romaine, Jalapenos, Pico de Gallo, Salsa, and Sour Cream for a pile of deliciousness. For my main, I went with the Stacked Club Sandwich. It was really hard to pick, as all of their sandwiches, wraps, and tacos sounded (and looked) great. However, I did not regret my choice. It had Ham, Turkey, Bacon, Tomato, Lettuce, and just enough Garlic Aioli. It was served with Fries that had the PERFECT seasoning on it. If they packaged that seasoning I would be buying it by the truck load. The evening was wonderful, service top notch, location perfect, and food phenomenal. We live in the area so we always try it every summer, usually the experiences are pretty mediocre. We met friends there for a drink and they ordered a mushroom with white sauce pizza, which looked pretty good, and they said that it was good. The next night we decided to order one to bring home. My wife ordered a sausage pizza online and I went to pickup. The pizza was at the check in stand when I got there. I brought it home and found an overcooked sausage, pepperoni and onion pizza. I brought the pizza back thinking they gave me the wrong pizza. When I got there, I told them I think I got somebody else's pizza and didn't mention that I thought it was overcooked. They said no that was our pizza, so I showed the young lady a screen shot of our order. So eventually, they decided they were going to make me a new pizza and I patiently waited for it to get done. They eventually brought it out to me and I brought it home. It was fairly soggy, and seemed undercooked, but tasted OK. The sausage seemed to be a low grade sausage, which I know sounds funny. I would say it was OK gas station pizza. It wasn't busy, at all, so that wasn't the issue. It has to be tough to be consistent when it is seasonal and literally completely dependent on the weather. We've been to every iteration of restaurant here for the past 30 years and we were expecting much more from the newest owners based on their pedigree of the Daniel del Prado and Aaron Switz ownership duo. We were turned off by the price of the nacho tray ($22 for beef and $32 for brisket) as we didn't want one that serves 6, we're just two people. Maybe offer a 1/2 portion for 1/2 the price? We ordered the tacos and felt that they were pretty bland, lacking interesting flavor and spice. Why is the chicken and brisket cubed? Umbrellas on the deck look like the $50 plastic fake-tiki ones you see on Amazon and they're too low unless you're under 5'6". The bar is very limited to their custom drinks which is disappointing. We did enjoy their gin-based drinks, but a full bar should be standard. (It was last year.) This effort is nothing like their other restaurants Josefina and Macanda, they need to step up their game if this is to succeed long term. BTW- love the deck and location in general and they added two more slips totaling 7 for restaurant boat parking. Talk to the gas dock people for parking. read more

After visiting "Lost Bay" they should consider renaming it to "Lost Food". It was a beautiful night and my girlfriend and I wanted to try a new place for lakeside dining that we haven't tried before. After struggling to find some parking we walked up to the picturesque lakeside patio. After pausing at the empty host stand for a minute we decided to seat ourselves. There were a handful of open tables so finding seating was not a problem. The server came over promptly and brought cold waters and took our drink order. She was prompt and pleasant. It was a beautiful night on the patio and we placed our food order. It was after this point that the downward spiral began. I overheard the server at the next table explain to them that their burger order had been lost somehow but they would have a new one out shortly. This was the foreshadowing of what was to come. Our server came back shortly and said the kitchen was a little backed up so it would be a little slower but did not give a timeframe of what that meant. After an hour and a half of ordering burgers and fries our server stopped by again and said it would be a couple more minutes. A couple turned into pushing 25 additional making this an almost 2 hour wait for burgers and fries. A look around at the other tables and hunger and frustration could be seen at most of them. It was at this point we still did not have any food and decided to pay for our drinks and leave. There are many great options around the lake for food, this just did not prove to be one of them. The ambiance is nice and if you want to have a drink and look at the lake it would be ok. If you would like to eat as well as look at the lake I would recommend finding another location. read more

I found lost bay by seeing multiple Tik toks about it, so I decided to check it out with a friend who was visiting from out of town. Despite how delicious these pictures look, the only really good thing about this restaurant is the aesthetic and the fact that it's on the water. Our server was amazing and so nice, but unfortunately it cannot make up for the fact that our food tasted like it came from a high school cafeteria but was priced like it was from a 5 star restaurant. read more

Me and my friends drove 45 mins to come see this place and I downloaded yelp just to right this review to not waste your time. Service- bottom tier, view- nice, wait- awhile, food- mid except for the fact that they gave me raw bacon on my sandwich, it was nearly completely white and I never send food back. It is a bit better than bar food but way too expensive for a normal meal and they didn't even have the umbrellas up, even when it rained and had poor communication with other staff, also had to ask for an itemized bill. I had high hopes coming into this restaurant. The drinks looked amazing from the photos posted online. After arriving, myself, and 3 others ordered drinks. Three of us ordered the specialty cocktails. Not one of us could finish our drinks with how strong they were. Our tongues and throats burned from whatever was put in our drinks. The food was not anything special. I ordered tacos and all it has on it was a very small amount of chicken, tons of cilantro and lots of tomatoes. It was very plain and overpriced! The waiter was trying his best but clearly did not know the menu well after we asked multiple times what was put in our drinks (due to them burning our throats and tongues and we never got an answer). I would also not go on a windy day. The tiki umbrellas blew out of place and hit the building causing a fuss with the customers. Very lucky no one was walking around in that time or they would have gotten injured.
