It's pretty much my second home. Doesn't that just explain it all? Well, there's nothing spectacular about this shopping center but it has Target, Ross, Regal Cinema and Fry's is across the street. Those would be the key points for me being here so often. There's some food places in the area like Panera Bread, Five Guys, Rock Wood-Fired, Izakaya and Red Robin's. Some other ones as well but I can't think of them at the moment. It's great on warmer days like during spring and summer because Coulon is in walking distance. Also since it's an outdoor shopping center, it's great to hang out with some friends or a date on those sunny, warm days/nights. Parking is no problem AT ALL and I love that. To this day, I still haven't seen it overly packed with cars, even with it being right by I-405. It doesn't have those brand name clothing stores but for a chill kind of day, it's perfect to be at. This is a nice place to spend a lazy afternoon watching movies at the theater and strolling in and out of their stores. There are also a lot of restaurants/cafes, so you can definitely spend hours here. The theater is lovely and the ambiance is calm. The Landing, Renton, Washington. We didn't realize that this was the Landing, until we saw the Landing sign after leaving Frys one night and seeing the sign. We had seen "profile friends" who had checked into the Landing, but had no idea what it was. Pro's · Outdoor shopping is the norm in Florida where we are from and preferred, by us, to indoor malls. · Selection of stores is stellar and convenient: Target, Petco, Frys, Lowes-just to name a few · Selection and variety of eateries and bars again, stellar and convenient- The Rock Pizza, Red Robin, Jimmy Johns, Vino's-just to name a few · Clean and neatly laid out · Stores easily accessed and spaced nicely · Theater (AMC) · Apartments available (The Reserve and The Sanctuary) · Safe · close to freeway for easy access to get home Con's · Not good for rainy days · Traffic and routing a little confusing · Parking for some areas a little lacking · A little pricey area · Having to drive from store to store due to distance issues ie from Frys to Target or from Lowes to Petco. Summary- When looking for a home security system, someone told us about Frys Electronics. We went to Frys twice in two days, but had no idea that they were actually located in the Landing. We also had no idea just how much the Landing had to offer and how convenient everything was. Back home we had two places that were similar to this called The Avenues and Waterford lakes and they got more traffic than the mall. A lot of people, it seems, like to go into one store and get out, not fight the foot traffic in the mall, especially the male population, in general. I am no different. I think this place has more to offer than the Tukwila mall for my specific likes and wants and I thoroughly enjoy spending time at The Landing. I find most of the stores that are here are within my shopping genre and much easier for me to get into and out of without having to fight all the tourists that have migrated to Tukwila when Seattle begins to close down for the evening. Although the traffic can be a little heavy at times and parking can be a little sparse at times and everything closes at different times, I would seriously recommend this location over the mall any day. read more

Needs better selection of shopping for me. Fry's and the other stores here just aren't destination shopping for me. While they do have a large selection of dining options, I'd like to see some of a higher quality. Red Robin, Panda Express and The Rock don't make for the who's who of culinary world in my humble opinion. This shopping area has grown quickly over the years. This is yet another blending of residential and commercial that has been cloned in every downtown area throughout the area. This particular location has some pretty decent options to choose from, and gives people really good location to get to the beach, or to other neighboring cities. Bordering Boeing keeps things busy in the area, and this is often a stop for people passing through that live in the surrounding neighborhoods. Not sure what Renton was like before the Landing, but this a major asset to the small town. We are constantly making runs to Target, Pet Smart, Marshall's etc. It also provides a pretty decent variety of food and beer, from Five Guys, Panera Bread, The Rock, and World of Beer. Also, one of the newest shops to pop up is the Sounders/Seahawks Pro Shop. Great spot to grab some gear without having to drive downtown. read more

I moved to Renton right before construction on the Landing began. People cringe when I tell them I moved to Renton (to be traffic/commute free to my job), and rightfully so. When we think of Renton, we think of Rainier Ave and the scary Wal-Mart and people running around with guns at each other. I watch the news. The Landing popped up and looked very promising. Target (I love), a gym (I actually don't like), movie theater and loads of restaurants and shops and even "luxury living" apartments. Unfortunately, because of the economy, the full vision of the Landing never materialized. Still, today, half of the spaces remain vacant. There is a nice variety of restaurants which are all moderately priced. Since there are a lot of empty store fronts it's not practical to walk around everywhere if you want to walk from the heart of the Landing to Target or Fry's. The crosswalks are out of the way. The apartments, which are nice (I toured when they first opened) however, they missed the memo that A.) the economy is in the toilet, and B.) this isn't Seattle. What they offer and the location isn't worth the extremely high rent. In the summer, they play concerts in the heart of the Landing by the movie theater. The mix of retail stores is nice, but they are a little touristy - and shops I'll probably rarely frequent. I can't wait for The Landing to reach it's full potential. It has a very modern classy look which really helps Renton's image. read more

I grew up in Renton and waited for something like this to be developed, but of course it didn't happen until I moved away! However I enjoy coming here when I am in the area. There are fun restaurants and shops to keep me occupied day and night. Also it is not far from Colon Park. If you haven't been down here, it would be a fun place to stop and shop. read more

The "Landing" in Renton is a place that was once built up to be another "hang out" in the Renton area away from Southcenter. It never quite took off like the developers wanted it to but it isn't half bad. There are some big anchors (Target, Petsmart, Fry's, etc) and then other places to encourage traffic (Regal theater, restaurants, etc). It is a little hard to get to as it's off 405, Exit 5 so no quick I-5 access or I-90, etc. But it seemed semi-busy with the locals finishing up their x-mas shopping and catching a movie. read more

I have had the opportunity to check out the mall at a few places and when I have the time, will definitely do that. It's close to Boeing as well as some other stores that I'm interested in checking out next time I have more time to. From what I've seen so far, I'm definitely impressed with how clean, organized and a great area to be in despite how Renton have the reputation as a bad place to live at or be at from previous years. I'm very impressed with the development that has taken place in this area in the last couple years. Just like when Kent got Kent Station, Renton now has The Landing. It's got a movie theater, great restaurants (sushi, american, yogurt shop etc.) and various boutiques. It's really close to Target and Fryz as well as Dicks sporting goods store, Ross, Petco, Lowes, and Marshall. When I went a couple days ago, I'd say at least 40% of the locations were not yet occupied so don't be surprised to see several empty storefronts. Also, parking is a little odd. There's parking behind the stores which are designed almost in cluster-like formations and then there are also parking garages with convenient access to the movie theater. read more

Big fan of these gigantic corporate do it all type developments that include apartments,huge big box stores,shop,eateries and movie theater. Its a very nice one stop shop to catch a movie, shop at Target and Petsmart in one area. Parking is pretty good for a place like this much much better than navigating westfield mall and its surrounding areas in tukwila that is always a nightmare. I had high hopes when this place opened up years ago. However, it never quite became the outdoor mall that I hoped. Maybe its because they opened during the recession. The shops are decent but they lack the marquis names that would attract traffic. They seriously need a good anchor client like a Starbucks, Nordstrom Rack, or a Fred Meyer. read more

We go to THE LANDING often and have been for several years but we've noticed that it's become very trashy messy dirty- garbage, cigarette butts,bird poop everywhere including the stairwells which smell. I think it's up to consumers and people in general to respect an environment like that and throw your garbage in the cans and not the streets or sidewalks- however it's also up to the Landing management to see this and keep it clean. We will continue going there as it's convenient but I can't be the only one who feels this way. Please keep the sidewalks, walkways and area cleaner!!!!!! read more

Since I've moved to the area I've frequented the Landing often since it's a nice urban shopping center with a variety of shop and restaurant offerings. Parking would be my biggest concern to the area as it can get really sparse on weekend nights and obviously during events. Speaking of events, they always have a family friendly events going on including Seahawks training camp, trick or treating, and like last night Holiday at the Landing where they had caroling, mini train rides for the kids, photos with Santa, and the lighting of the tree. It was a great way to get into the holiday spirit with our friends and community. The set up is nice and good walking distance between shops. read more

The Landing...You'll find a movie theatre, a nail salon (walk ins welcome), Target, Petsmart, LOWES, Fry's, Dicks, Ross, LA Fitness (with an emerald smoothie inside), Massage Envy, Cost Plus World Market, GNC and good variety of restaurants featuring cuisine: Thai, sushi, Mexican, sandwiches and wings, along with some staple restaurants: Panera, Jimmy Johns, Wildfin, Panda Express and Red Robin. I haven't run into a shopping or service need yet that can't be accomplished by visiting The Landing. Very walkable but there is plentiful parking in a garage (free) behind the theater and lots of street parking. Fun to meet up for lunch or a happy hour and in the summer, on Thursdays, there is a Farmers Market in the parking lot of Dicks Sporting Goods. Not worth the drive or the time really, we went down one day and found numerous vehicles broken into, homeless people sleeping in the parking garage, and a few others begging for money. No real stores to draw people in, and what is there is overpriced and not really worth the drive. If they maybe cleaned up the crime and Transient Population, it may be nice to have dinner on a paito, but no one really wants an intoxicated person inturrupting your dinner asking you for money. read more

Since it first opened I have to say I like coming here. This area has become my go to spot for Target, movies, gym, and food when I don't want to make the drive to southcenter. I really like having all the places I go to in a much closer location to me now. Parking is never really a problem, you may end up walking a little bit farther but its all centrally located so nothing is more than a 4 minute walk. An outdoor mall concept is nice, but its so cold and rainy here it makes walking between shops annoying. Hood/hat on and off again...its kind of annoying but its the life of a Seattlelite. read more

I actually like the idea and the landing overall. It has grown for sure in the past few years but, it still feels very empty to me. I would like to see some nightlife in it/ bars open past 10. The restaurant selection is decent but, most of the places are not affordable . I assume the rent in the landing is pretty high which is probably also why it is empty. I really like what's here at The Landing. There are a LOT of options for food and being a movie-goer, I love that there's a movie theater here too. I've heard other people mention it also, but I think a Trader Joe's would be GREAT here. More retailers would be nice also, but I'm a big Target fan, so I'm content with it being there :) I think some restaurants are little on the pricey side, but it's a smart thing to do since it's a high-traffic area. I like that it's close to the freeway, so it's easy to find and quick to get to/leave. I can understand how it can be a little complicated for anyone who doesn't go there often (the streets are a little confusing within The Landing) and parking can be kind of a pain, but it's not bad overall. The Landing is a very nice and quaint outdoor mall. It has many convenient shops (ex AT&T, UPS) and eateries. There are also a few big shopping stores, like Target, Ross and Michaels, but that's about it. I would come here more often if they had a larger variety of shops, like more boutiques, or else I don't really have any reason to come here. I do love the layout of this mall though, because it's like a mini town. read more
