Good service and good food. Great location with very friendly workers. A little confusion on the checks but it was a given with our large group. Went with 17 and were seated immediately with little to no issues throughout our service. On the expensive side but a great choice for dinner. Takeout is also very easy. read more

Beautiful spot right on the water, the view of the lake and ferry while sitting outside are very nice. It was my first time visiting The Landing yesterday for lunch. Our party of 4 was seated outside to enjoy the sunshine, we also had a terrific waitress (did not get her name). Our party ordered different menu items from Beach Fries as appetizers to a Lobster Roll, Fish Sandwich, Burgers, no one had any complaints! Everything was very good. Simply the best place to have an on the lake lunch or dinner. The landing is everything you would ever need in a boat up beach bar. They have great food and friendly staff. The food is consistently great and the service is outstanding. If you are in town this is absolutely the place to go wearing your "boat hair don't care" tee shirt or perhaps "work like a captain, party like a pirate'" shirt. Amazing vibe and consistent good food make this a cant miss place right on lake Charlevoix- particular by boat! Did I mention that they have Ahi Taco specials regularly! Amazing. read more

The Landing is as close to heaven as you can get: waterside, casual, super delish dining with friendly staff and fellow customers. Most recently, I enjoyed the heck out of the roasted chicken nachos, but have loved every other item I've ordered previously. Hanger steak, summer salad, and alllll the cocktails! (hiccup!) And the french fries are exceptional, as is the popcorn--which is totally addictive. This place gets way too busy on the weekends. Fortunately we have a cottage a few miles down the lake, and can go anytime during the week during off peak times. The food is good, but damn, this place has gotten expensive. Plan on spending minimum $100 for four people for lunch, and more for dinner. That said, the servers are pleasant, but service can be extremely slow for drinks during a busy time, but they seem to get the food out to the table fast. We've ordered food and drinks at the same time before, and the food came out 10 minutes before the drinks did. They can definitely use to streamline the bar service somehow, maybe add another bar for the 100 people waiting to be seated. read more

I used to be an employee at the Landing restaurant. The management was not great, I recently just quit and i went to go get my last paycheck and one of the mangers said "Look its the quitter" out loud front of the customers and staff. The manager took me in the hallway of the bathroom and yelled at me in front of costumers as well as the staff. One of the male manager commented on weather or not I should be wearing a bra or not, that same manager scrutinized me on the tiniest mistakes and would yell in front of the staff. I do not recommend this workplace. read more

The location/view alone deserves 5 stars, but the food, fortunately is worthy of 5 stars as well! Everyone enjoyed what they ordered (perch, crab, burgers...) and agreed this was a place we should have come to much sooner in our trip to Charlevoix. Although I did not have the burger, the waitress said it was a 50/50 combination of beef and bacon, reminding me of one of my most favorite restaurants in Southern California, Slaters 50/50! I will have to try The Landings version next time, as I do plan on returning on my next trip to Charlevoix... Well done, Landings! read more

Visited The Landings a few times already over the summer. Food is always outstanding. Great view of Lake Charlevoix`s South Arm where the Ironton Ferry crosses. They have a marina so it is fun to watch boats come and go. A must stop place to visit near Charlevoux. read more

Stop by about a week ago. I heard this place was on the water so we wanted to check it out. This place reminded me soo much of the island that I didn't want to leave. The service was great and the place was fully staffed the way a busy summer restaurant should be. Boat keep pulling up but still very fun and relaxing. There was a cool vodka promo going on as well which I thought was very cool especially on a Sunday. The drinks were very Islam's themed and tons and tons of rum options. I tried the Frozen gypsy Lemonade and it was out of this world. Now to the food, everything was very very good but I will say I left a little hungry. I can't wait to go back!! A summer time hot spot! If the weather is nice they're probably busy but worth the wait. On weekends they break out the extra drinks at the tiki hut with extra seating outside. So happy we docked the boat here! Sounds like they are under new management, and by the looks of the menu they are trying to step it up with something a bit more creative. The crab cakes were AWESOME. The amount of lump crab meat was crazy. These are a must. Three people at the table had them and they all raved. The sweet potato fries with "PB&J" were really good too. The peanut butter sauce on its own with the fries was a bit odd, but mixed with the smoked cherry jam - YUM. I guess that's why they call it "PB&J." For my meal I tried the Fried Green Tomato Salad - a mix of shaved brussel sprouts, kale, walnuts, a sweet vinaigrette - it was good, but not great. I would probably try something else next time. Just not sure all the flavors went together that well. Loved sitting in the waterfront patio listening to the live music. So relaxing and the perfect setting to watch the ferry cross. read more

Other reviews seemed to highlight issues with service, and we had a small issue arise when they called us in for our table and gave it to someone else...but it wasn't a big thing. It looks like all the staff was seasonal workers and fairly young, so it's to be expected I think. I ordered crab cakes and wife ordered crab roll. We ended up switching. I liked the crab roll a lot but if you're going to need a $20 sandwich to knock your socks off you might want to stick with a burger. Margaritas were really good. So was the rum runner. This place is a Northern Michigan staple! It's right on the lake, and the ambiance is boating and relaxed. This place is summer. The food and drink quality however is inconsistent. More often than not it is excellent, and exactly what you need on a summer's day; however during other summers it's simply disappointing. This place is controversial in my network because of this inconsistency in quality. On average, however the quality of the food is good. That being said, this place is one of those places you have to go to if you're visiting Charlevoix; no trip is complete without a stop here. It just feels whimsical. read more

We were excited to try this place, but walked away very disappointed. Looks like a fun hangout bar but the food was sub par. Cod fillets we frozen cookie cutter pucks. Crab cake didn't contain a lot of crab and the texture should be described as mush, not cake. My advice is not to come hungry. read more

We stopped in tonight around 6:30 for dinner. They had the most courteous dock staff to give directions, help us pull in and get tied off, ask if they could assist in any other way before we got to the actual restaurant. One of the young men said he normally works in the kitchen but was outside for the day because it was the 4th of July and they needed extra hands on the docks, he was very pleasant and offered some of the best assistance we've had at any port. I had the perch basket which was the best perch I've ever had anywhere. The breading was crisp and not greasy at all. It came with a side of beach fries (fries with Old Bay seasoning ) which were excellent and also some homemade cole slaw which was great. Our 2 kids both had the ceasar salad with grilled chicken which they said was excellent as well. Throughout the course of our visit all the staff was very attentive and took away glasses and used dishes without anyone in our party asking. They are truly top notch. One other thing I liked was that they now have a couple of hostesses to keep finding seats easy when coming in so you don't have to wander around looking for a spot. I can't recommend this restaurant enough after our visit today, I'd put our experience in the top of anywhere within the Charlevoix area. read more
