This place is so much better than it used to be. Before the management shifted, the food here was almost inedible. Now, the food is really great; among the best in the area. A great place to bring your boat if you have one, and eat on the dock. Ignore the menu on the website; their real menu is completely different. That must be the old one. Get the nachos, seriously. Not slathered in cheddar like most nachos, these have a really good queso fresco, and great chicken. read more

Unfortunately very disappointing. Sat at the bar and was sold premium $12 margaritas only to discover halfway through (we couldn't finish due to the taste) that the bartender knowingly didn't have half the advertised ingredients (an organic sour w/agave and lime) but didn't tell us. We mentioned that we wouldn't have ordered the drinks had we known the ingredients weren't available and he shrugged his shoulders and said they were busy last weekend and might have some later. I am sure the restaurant will find its feet soon but I'd recommend steering clear of the very green bar staff for a while, or stick with the beer, unless unadvertised $12 cups of store bought sour mix are your thing. What a fun place to come to by boat! Helpful staff even come out to help you dock! On our first visit, my husband and I stopped for a drink and watched the ferry next door make continuous trips across the south arm of Lake Charlevoix. It was so cool that we decided to bring our teen boys back for lunch the next day. If what the front of their menu says is true, and they only have a hot plate, a crock-pot and a borrowed fryer, it's pretty amazing how much food they can get out of that kitchen. The food was a little pricey, but decent, and it's common to pay more at a restaurant you can boat to. My salad was fresh, and the kids enjoyed their pizza fingers and chicken fingers. Most of the food was simple, but tasty. If you're out on Lake Charlevoix and you work up a hunger, take a break from the sun at the Landing in Ironton Cove. read more

The Landing sits on the banks of lake Charlevoix. Most tables are outside but they have indoor seating as well. We enjoyed craft beer, seafood, and great service. We will definitately be back. read more

Under new management. The place looks great, but they are now completely anti-pets and very unfriendly about it. I was chased off their SIDEWALK, outside of the establishment while waiting for carry out, with my service dog. I asked where I could go to wait for my food and she said it didn't matter as long as the dog was NOWHERE ON THE PROPERTY. Would you like me to wait out on the main road? Nice and friendly place. Went there with family and extended family on June 25, 2018 to celebrate my sister-in-laws birthday while camping in the area. The waitress was nice and friendly. There were 7 adults and a 2 year old with us who grandparents were babysitting. The waitress brought all of our dinners and forgot to bring my sister in laws meal. She ordered a sandwich and fries and by the time her meal finally came the rest us us were done eating. The waitress forgot the fries. She knew it was her Birthday as did the manager. The 2 year old was tired of sitting so long. The restaurant still charged us for the meal. Never did anything to compensate for the mistake, except to send "the pirate" to juggle for us, although he was there to entertain everyone and not all that good either. We all felt that the restaurant should at the very least not charged for the meal. They did charge for it. Being it was a Birthday we choose not to demand they take the meal off the bill because we had a tired 2 year old with us and were more than ready to leave. Very disappointed in the way they handled the situation. Expected better! read more

Nice atmosphere and view at first. Had a table right on the dock but lost our view when the boats parked either side of us. Guess should have expected. Food and drinks were fair. We had the lobster roll. Was told the lobster is flown in daily from Maine. Was fresh but lacking in dressing or something. Kind of plain. Came with Kettle chips and for $20 was a little disappointing. House Margaritas were canned mix and disappointing. Live music on the deck, atmosphere definitely has potential. The food is alright and the service has always been very very slow every time I've visited, no one seems to know who's taking what tables. It's more about the experience of being able to drive your boat here and dinning then the Quality of service and food if you really want to try their food I would consider to steak it take out. On a gorgeous summer day the setting on Charlevoix Lake is just awesome. I had tasty perch and chips and a wonderful iced tea. Landings also will serve you on your boat if you pull up. The funky atmosphere is awesome and they have a resident snapping turtle who lives under their docks. read more

Awesome spot for food and drinks. Decor and ambiance are superb with lovely space outside and in. The chicken nachos are a great way to start, light and fresh for a summer day. All entrees we had were great - stand outs were burgers with pimento spread and barbecue pork sandwich. Also appealing cocktail and wine menu. Great burger! Really impressed me. This place is more than just a pretty spot on the water. Our server Valerie was attentive and sweet. We were extremely thirsty (it was 90 and sunny plus we were seated outside and a leeeetle bit hungover to be honest) and she thought ahead and brought us a water pitcher to stay on top of the drinks which was so appreciated. There was live music today, a band called the Pistil Whips, and it was really enjoyable. Everyone looked like they were enjoying it, and a little fan even got to hold the mic, they actually stopped the music for her and played a souped up version of Twinkle Twinkle. It's one thing to host live music but this place apparently chooses their bands quite well for their family environment. Beautiful views, great staff, great food, and live music just topped it all off. Worth a stop for sure! read more

Went here for lunch yesterday and thought it was great! My favorite items that we tried were the ice cream sandwich (it was amazing) and the grilled shrimp app. Those two dishes and the fact they had live music during the day gave this place four stars for me. I had the Fish and Chips for entree, but wasn't the best or worst I've ever tasted. read more

Great location, lousy food Love this place, love being on the water, and watching the ferry and the boats come and go. As my friend said, "I'll eat dirt just to be here." This is a waterfront bar that could get its perch and whitefish from the best local source, Cross Fisheries, and instead they serve up greasy, flat, horribly prepared junk they bought from Gordon's or Sysco. Actually, I don't know their food source. It's so bad I don't think the major food suppliers would provide such inedible stuff. Or maybe they just destroy it in the preparation. I keep trying different menu items, hoping I'll find something edible, but I'm always disappointed. The chef seems to want to be "creative," but he doesn't seem to understand that "creative" doesn't translate to "good." Certain foods and spices do not belong together. The combination of really bad chef decisions, poorly sourced food, and very high prices has completely turned me off to eating there. I'd love to support them, I love this location and the old Landing, but instead of spending a night there, I'll go for one cocktail and leave without eating. Someone needs to teach this chef that less is more, and that serving quality, classic, simple food always beats creativity if you don't know what you're doing. read more

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Landing and the staff took such great care of us. We felt really special that they opened the restaurant early to accommodate us and we had the entire place to ourselves. The food was amazing and everyone was impressed by the whole experience. Great service! Great view! Great beach fries! My fried perch was good. Not the best I've ever had but the atmosphere and view made up for it. If you order a side of fries, plan to split it someone or several others...it's big. We will definitely go back...the lobster roll looked amazing, but they were out of lobster today. read more

This is a great spot to pull up a boat, tie up and have good food and drinks. The dock guys were top notch. Very courteous and ready to help. The renovations are really nice. It has that casual beach resort feeling. We sat at the bar where we typically get great service at restaurants. However, there were at least 4 bartenders and not one of them acknowledged our presence. We waited a minimum of 10 minutes while they served people who walked up to the bar all around us. The person who had been sitting next to us when we arrived finally got a bartender's attention and told her to take our drink order. Typically bartenders will check in every once and a while and ask if you need another round especially when drinks are empty. That never happened. They walked around and ignored us even though the bar had mostly emptied out. It was later afternoon and the weather was bad. The person who took our food order was good and we got the order in a timely fashion. The lobster roll is tasty. We did have to flag them down, yet again, to request our check. We will revisit this place in the future and hopefully the customer service at the bar will improve by then. read more

This is a must go destination restaurant in northern Michigan. It has a fun relaxed atmosphere. While there is plenty of seating inside, sitting out by the docks is amazing (weather permitting) you would be just as comfortable brining your family here as you would taking your sweetheart out on a date. Pro tip, if there is wait you can grab a drink from inside and drink it outside while you wait. We had the nachos ( I should have taken a picture you won't believe me) they were refreshingly different. Think gourmet nachos. Also tried the perch basket which was very good ( I'm not a huge fish eater). Make sure you save room for the homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches. While I live in TC I'll be back. Stopped in for our first visit to the "New" Landing Restaurant today. What a good job on the rebuild. More seating ( especially undercover) , nice inside bar and actual usable bathrooms. Some nice food improvements along with keeping some old favorites. The chicken salad in particular was much more to our liking. I did miss the old fries but the new ones were OK. Service was excellent and there were plenty of servers. The thing is, there is nowhere like this from Leland to Mackinac. I have been in every Lake Michigan port in that stretch including the Beav. . This is it for dock your boat in front at their dock and walk 50' to lunch. This is reminiscent of a Florida Keys place. Think The Lor-e-lei with deeper water and better food... read more

The Landing is the perfect scene on a lovely day with its dockside setting. We were looking forward to trying the lobster roll that I had seen a picture of & write up in a local magazine. Being originally from the East Coast, I've had many a lobster roll. This was amazing to look at, but taste wise it had absolutely no lobster taste! Very bland. It must have been rinsed to the high heavens, washing away any lobster flavor. There was only a slight taste of the lemon basil type dressing. Super fun. We arrived by car on our way home from Mackinac, felt like relaxing with a couple of drinks by a lake, and this was perfect. Our 4 year old played with other youngsters on the "playground boat", which is visible from certain tables. Very laid back. Liked it so much, we want to rent a cottage nearby. Moist and perfectly cooked, with curried mayo and feta cheese and pickled red onion. Everyone at the table sampled it and agreed - excellent! Why not 5 stars? No side.
