FUEY! From reading everyone's review, sounds like I barely scratched the amenities surface! This is such a beautiful hotel with amazing decor. When we pulled up in our cab and were greeted by a man in a fancy heavy coat and a fancy hat, we knew we were rolling high. We stayed in the comforts of our beautiful room with the beautiful view of the city. We watch TV on our flat screen and drank coffee and tea from our generic Keurig. We also played with the fog windows in the bathroom, making us feel like little rich kids. Ahh, to be young again. The only problem with our room was our bed. Our bed was two full beds put together, making cuddling in the center difficult and uncomfortable. The service was impeccable, from the frequent turn down service to the doorman memorizing our names. Spend some time at Travelle in the evening for beautiful view of city lights. There is an abundance of seating providing an alternative location for doing business. The pool area is small, simple, and clean. This hotel is centrally located with a plethora of bars, restaurants, and shops within 1/2 a mile. Would definitely stay here again. read more

I stayed at this hotel via a priceline deal. I was debating whether or not to splurge, but I can say it was quite worth it. Firstly, the Front desk staff were very welcoming and immediately granted my request for late check out. They also arranged for my guest to have a key waiting, when they arrived. (I wanted to hit the gym and not wait around ;) The room. Holy Snikeys! The first detail I noticed were the high ceilings and recessed lighting. They also have a button for "Master on", which illuminates the suite. (I hate going to hotels and investigating each switch...such a time suck!). The bathroom was amazing - double vanity with a separate room for the toilet. The shower has both a waterfall fixture and a handwand. In addition, there is a two-person soaker tub (in the same enclosure, but separate from the shower...amazing). I really liked hitting the button to fog and unfog the glass. Kinda felt like a baller. The frig/coffee station/bar are cleverly hidden in a bureau. Very imaginative! The fitness center was great - you can view the river, trump tower and the tribune tower while you sweat. Pretty cool. It was a little annoying to have to sign in, but the water and apples waiting for me were delicious and refreshing. The equipment was what you would expect from a luxury hotel - it was nice that they had medicine balls and free weights, in addition to the usual cardio equipment, but I would have also dug a jump rope (that's just me - it would probably be a liability issue for them, if I accidentally whacked someone in the face or eye...) Overall, I had a great time and if I have the time and means, I will go again. The central location is also very convenient (the house of blues is just across the street) - made it to lincoln park on the red line in about 10 minutes, and there are also plentiful taxis. There were things I did like about the Langham but a ton I was NOT impressed with at all for the level of hotel they claim to be. GO TO THE TRUMP INSTEAD! Starters flew in, checked in 8p and the cleaning lady was still in the room upon arrival with no rush to complete even tho we were awkwardly trying to become accustom to the room and settle in. #weird Then we had an issue with room service... Ordered, enjoyed mediocre sandwiches, then called to retrieve the items 3 times, still no one came then as I was exiting the hotel that evening.. I asked an attendant on the first floor my room number and concern they said it would be taken care of and I returned with everything still in the room. #gross DO NOT send your shoes out to be polished either! $800 shoes ruined by the wrong color polish with no concern, management (Vanessa) then tried to tell me it was our fault when the gentlemen who returned the shoes told me he had messed up with the polish he accidentally used the wrong color. Finally management offered a small credit but nothing to make up for fairly new Italian shoes. *Don't worry Langham, Nordstrom and their customer service took care of me after you wouldn't. I also tried to go to the spa but they told me sorry we have no menus for you to look at or to consider for your service because they were reprinting one they would be in, in a month?! Spa told me to look online even tho I was standing at the spa front desk. I went to trump across the stress instead. read more

To High Tea or Not to High Tea , that indeed is the question ? And the answer with out a doubt is "To High Tea"! The space is airy and well decorated, with part city view , part river view , and part TRUMP view. Don't let that stop you .. The piano is played in the background and the staff are super cordial .. Our hostess sat us and our tea person ( she has a special name (to lazy to google it )) she was the best.::: with three parts to the High tea and two teas to select it was a wonderful afternoon spent with a group of wonderful ladies . First up is a savory assortment of yumminess , paired with a tea of your choice , if you are uncertain of choice then your server will help you out . Next my favorite Part , scones !!! So these are not your typical English scones , triangle not round , but either way delish.. You get two , a cornbread and a blueberry both with a twist of goodness, no scone is complete without clotted cream and jam , and for the not so adventurous ...butter ...the warmness melts in your mouth, as your tastebuds do a little jig . By this time , believe it or not , you are somewhat full. The third plate is a macaroon , a tiny piece of chocolate cake ,and a shot glass of goodness . This is paired with your second choice of tea... The loo (restroom ) is close by , all the tea consumed has to come out sooner or later, and depending how many cups you consume determines how many times you frequent the loo. To sum it up ,great tasting food and tea, with a wonderful waitress , great friends , great location, we couldn't ask for more . We spent about 5 hours there !!! That says a lot . Perhaps two stars for this swanky boite is too harsh. After two Langham experiences - one in California, where I stayed at the hotel/spa, and my more recent visit to the lounge at the Chicago Langham - I can honestly say that this is justified, and that the establishment is (quite literally) on thin ice as far as I'm concerned. I will admit that there are some inspired features (the female staff wear Chanel pink tweed suits, which lends an aura of class). The space itself feels sterile and office-y, despite the level of work that has gone into getting it up to speed as luxury hotel. As to the service, I have been in a number of places of this caliber where the service is far better - unobtrusive and seamless rather than obsequious and hovering. On this score, the Langham falls far short of expectations. The wine list also needs direction and cocktails are uninspired (and overpriced) considering what is on offer. When I visited, the restaurant was not yet open, so I went with a soup as I was simply looking for a light bite. This dish was ok, but I knew I didn't want the tuna tartare, as I have reason to believe that this is what made me violently ill during my stay at the Langham in Pasadena. The coup de grace was when a huge chunk of ice, that should have been broken up, exploded out of my water glass, drenching the left side of my arm and dress. I handled the situation gracefully, dabbing with my napkin, but I had the feeling that the staff (hovering) were chortling amongst themselves. I understand that this establishment is new and that there are some kinks to work out before it is truly ready for prime time. Here's hoping that the Langham takes these notes into consideration and can become a viable entity on the hospitality front--not just a last resort when the Trump Tower across the street is full up! read more

Yes an all Pink Chanel suit looks amazing... and I believe pink clad greeters are their thing so it goes without saying that the place is pretty in pink. The lobby is an elevator ride away with the most amazing hanging bauble display I've seen outside of a christmas anything. Its looks that the millions of dollars spent renovating the previous business space was lavishly spent on every detail. From the leather everything and marble everything else. The pool area is well designed and make use of the limited space a skyscraper has to offer. There are also adjacent gender specific spa areas for your meditative sauna and steam needs. The real kicker is the suite.. its AMAZING! The pull out beds in the sofa.. yes I pulled those bad boys out... to the walk in shower / tub AREA separate from the bathroom is all top notch. I could detail how the window electrically dims with a flip of the switch to hide my goodies from prying eyes or that the view of marathoners running around is awesome from the floor to ceiling wall to wall windows but I wont... Allow me to simply leave the image of the shower area in which one could conceivably dance under the largest rain shower head you have ever seen along with multiple body nozzles for all the missed nooks and crannies one could imagine dirty. Whoa! I honestly think that this is what it might be like living in Buckingham palace!!! It was almost embarrassing. I am in sales and spend a ton of time in hotels - in the rooms and with the facilities. This review is about the conference services. I work for an international company with consulting-based solutions. We host a lot of small client functions in hotels and I am always recommending or showing up at hotels the client has booked for strategic planning sessions. They pay a pretty penny to get us there and we need every minute of the day to run smoothly. Generally it's okay with the occasional lost box of materials, box that we can't pick up and move 10 feet because it's a union job, wrong room set up, malfunctioning AV, cafeteria quality buffet food, etc. But again, the point is that you are not supposed to think about the hotel. The brain power is on the work. On Tuesday of this week, I showed up at the Langham for an all day session that our client had booked. They had flown in senior leaders from all over the world and this was a critical session. For the record, I had honestly never heard of this hotel in Chicago. Or the world, for that matter, as they have apparently been doing what they have been doing since 1865! (I apparently live under a rock?) Literally, from valet drop off to pick up - I was catching flies all day. Don't tell the client, but I found myself watching everything going on in the background a little too much. First off, I arrived with 10 minutes to spare and was so thankful that they had a streamlined valet drop off process. A woman in a cute pink suit greeted me as I walked in (I later learned that she was an "ambassador" and her job was to welcome you and get you to where you needed to be as quickly as possible. SWEET! I always need that!) I get upstairs and the consultants told me that the hotel had unpacked all of our materials and had them all ready for set up. Room was in the right configuration. The AV was all in place and functional. There was an AV person, coordinator, and food contact waiting for them. (Always so much fun to have to track these folks down to get your boxes, or the projector you paid $500 to rent, or coffee station in the time you don't have.) The client had me seated with the participants. Let's face it - no one wants the sales person at the table. So, I ran over to the guy at the desk and asked him if we could have a table for the back of the room.And, oh, I am not the client so please don't charge the account for the table. Five minutes later, two guys set it up a table. I later learned that the guy I kept bugging for stuff throughout the day was with the Spa - had nothing to do with the conference rooms. The spa greeting kiosk was unfortunately located next to the conference room area. But he never said a word - just took my requests and people showed up. The internationally diverse employees were embarrassingly incredible. They honestly anticipated what everyone needed before they knew they needed it. They moved about their clearing, prepping, etc. soundlessly and inconspicuously. They seemingly popped up out of nowhere and disappeared as quickly. We would have a ten minute bio break and mysteriously all the water pitchers were refilled. Plates gone. Sugar packets at the coffee table replaced back to 50 units. (kidding!) The view was fricking amazing. I have never been so proud of Chicago. It's across from Trump and our corner conference rooms had views up and down the river. I don't think that I can ever sit in a conference room with no windows again. We were sitting my beige leather chairs. Yeah.... The rest of the décor was brilliant. Clean line, contemporary, throw back style. (I just made that up!) It's Mies van der Rohe's last building and the common area décor does the style justice. It's clean, smart, impeccable. Back to the people. Lunch? I would order this food at a restaurant. Non of the standard buffet slop. Delish! The napkins were gorgeous. And I think the flatware was Reed and Barton! (Locked in conference rooms every day - it's the little things....) And again, the staff seemingly floated soundlessly, almost invisibly filing your glasses before you asked, taking your plate right when you were finished - not before, rushing you along and not having to ask to have it removed. I hate to use the word servers - but when you think about it as a technical trade - these guys were Masters. Honestly, I felt like royalty. And this is coming from someone who lived in the Four Seasons for 6 months on a project. This was the most impeccable service I have EVER seen. Now, I am sure that all of this comes with a respective price tag. But, you get what you pay for and I will look into it as a solid option moving forward. In theory, it should have provided an environment in which the accommodations are a non issue. However, everyone was buzzing about it. Even the CHRO. THANK YOU! read more

I love a good afternoon tea. The Langham really outdid themselves for their afternoon tea service from excellent service to delicious offerings. The setting for tea is off the charts. While sitting on white couches and chairs, a pianist plays during tea. The table is set with Wedgewood china, holy gorgeous. Our server went through the teas with those of us present, so we could have hot tea sooner than later. I picked a Moroccan mint tea to soothe my stomach after a rough bout of not liking much of anything. Once everyone arrived, he went through the menu and asked about allergies. They were extremely accommodating about food issues like my nut allergy and a pregnant friend's restricted diet. For the savory dishes in the afternoon tea, we were each given our own plate with the items ranging from a beef and a tomato nibble, salmon topped toast, and a veggie bite. The Langham has some incredible scones to counter the savory items. Their jams and clotted cream were delicious too. The sweet treats were equally tasty and wonderful. One of the items was a pecan shortbread. Since I couldn't eat it, they offered us a fruit plate. The fruit plate brimmed full of grapes, watermelon, strawberries, etc. So good. For a fancy and delicious afternoon tea, go to the Langham. The view is pretty great too. read more

The tea was great; the food served with the tea was great (not always the case); I loved our waiter; and best of all, the hotel staff let us wander all over when we arrived too early for our reservation. The Langham hotel was amazing. We came here for a wedding and stayed the night at the hotel. The service and quality at the hotel was top notch--you truly do get what you pay for here. For the stay, the room was beautiful and had lots of cool features. Big floor-to-ceiling windows in every room, some looking out over the Chicago River; several different lighting features throughout the bedroom and bathroom, to include recessed lighting and a convenient nightlight feature in the bathroom; privacy glass in the bathroom was definitely cool, but mostly unnecessary; Bluetooth connection for your smart devices that allowed music to be played throughout the room; huge Jacuzzi tub; overhead rain-style shower and regular shower options; separate vanity area and makeup mirror. One more I'll mention is the turn-down service. You may think this is just silly and yes, it is for the most part unnecessary, but it's super nice, and when staying at a place like this, you gotta just live it up. Not only do they literally "turn down" your sheets, but they clean everything up in your room, straighten any mess / disorganization, and refill/empty anything necessary. Too bad they don't give you a chocolate on your pillow though! For the wedding, everything was done fabulously. The whole evening was well organized, flowed well, and the service was impeccable. The food was pretty good and all came out hot (even though over 200 were served!!). The ballroom has floor-to-ceiling windows on two of the four walls, which makes it more interesting than just a plain ballroom. There's a good size wood dance floor in the center of the room. As a guest of both a wedding and a night here, the Langham was a wonderful choice and I'd recommend it. read more

Checked in and the key programmer was out of order so had to be walked to our room and let in. The room was beautiful, and very comfortable. We had requested a massage when the room was booked online and was never called or emailed to schedule it. Went for breakfast at the lounge and sat there without any service while servers walked by and looked at us but never approached us. Finally left and ate at a great diner down the road. While the amenities at the Langham are beautiful, the service left a lot to be desired. There's too many other options in the area to settle for the Langham again... read more

Beautiful property in an excellent location with a great view of the Chicago River. The breakfast brunch was outstanding! It was a high end style breakfast with crab legs, fresh fruit and all of the usual breakfast fair that was prepared in a more high end restaurant manner. The room was clean, spacious and had great complimentary amenities. There are two reasons why I did not give five stars. One, is that the room we were in had a crying baby next door. I felt like I could hear the crying too well and that the soundproofing could have been a bit better. Unfortunately, at 5:00am, I could actually hear the mother talking to her child to ease the crying. After a late night in the city with girlfriends and leaving my own kids at home, it was a bit of a bummer to wake to a crying child in the wee hours! The second reason is that the hotel bar closes way too early. We were there St. Patty's weekend and the city was packed. After a great dinner and a show we wanted to hang out in the hotel bar for a bit before turning in. They were closed at 11:00! That was a huge disappointment, especially on a Saturday night. The bar should really accommodate their guests and have later hours. The rooms are not cheap and guests should be able to enjoy the full experience of a five star hotel. read more

I decided to stay at this property for a recent vacation to Chicago and I could not be anymore happier. I opted for a room on the Club Level (12C), by doing so you check in and out on that floor as opposed to the general desk. You also have a team of butlers who are available to assist with anything you may need. You also are entitled to the amenities in the club which include but are not limited to buffets, tea, drinks and amazing views of Chicago. My room was spectacular and I must say that this Hotel has one of the best water pressures for taking a shower. I am looking forward to coming back soon! read more

I felt guilty for cheating on my true love across the street (sorry mr trump) but wow am I glad I did. Came for a 3 day staycation recently for New Years and decided to stay at Langham, mostly because of the hype/reviews and bc it was cheaper than the trump... plus their website offered many great deals with extra perks like $50 daily breakfast credit (so worth it). The hotel is just absolutely breathtaking. The lobby, the restaurants, just gorgeous. For a moment I didn't even feel like I was in Chicago in the middle of a snow storm. It was like a different world. The room was very comfortable. Loved the bathroom setup and the smart use of space. The frosted glass between the bedroom and bathtub was genius. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. They had a cute area that stored a nespresso machine, many diff glasses, and more. My fave thing about the room was the separate vanity area- ladies you will LOVE it! If I had to do some comparisons with my first true love, I would have to say that I may still like the rooms at Trump a bit better bc the rooms are bigger, the bathroom floors are warmer in the winter, and the windows are more sound proof and cold proof! It got quite cold in half the room closest to the window. So why do I love the Langham more than my first love... And why will I most likely pick Langham over the Trump during my next stay in Chicago?? Two words- Chaun spa. The amenities are amazing and I must say it is my favorite spa in Chicago right now. WOW WOW WOW My wife and I needed a getaway and The Langham certainly fulfilled our getaway need. Arrival in the exquisite lobby and the professionalism of the staff helped prepare me for the perfect weekend. What a beautiful and luxurious hotel. We scheduled a couples massage at Chuan which was perfect. The staff were professional and the massages were awesome. The pool and spa were relaxing and serene. We were treated with the ultimate courtesy and pampering. Breakfast as Travelle was truly delightful. The staff were attentive and the food was awesome. There was no rush and no worries. Our room was fresh, clean and quite large for a downtown hotel. The bathroom was phenomenal especially with the privacy glass and the deep bathtub. We have found a new place for a weekend retreat in the great city of Chicago. read more

This is probably the fanciest hotel I've ever stayed in. I was a little disappointed in the previous reviews from fellow yelpers who didn't even stay at the hotel, just went to the afternoon tea. That is a fraction of what this place actually is. That being said, the room was top notch. The classic room is more than five times better than other hotels suites. The bathrooms are gigantic with chic amenities. The overall design is very well done. Cons: I could not give this place 5 stars. I would maybe drop it down to 3.5. I did not sleep well either night that I was there. The bed was so uncomfortable and the noise from the traffic and outside hallway was unbelievably disruptive in the morning and the thermostat struggled to maintain a consistent temp. I loved the hotel, but I would need to stay somewhere else to get a decent nights sleep. read more

Another fantastic Langham property that was the highlight of my trip to Chicago. The lobby (on the second floor) is beautifully decorated, with lofty ceilings that result in a grand yet inviting space. The hotel benefits from the commercial building it's located in, with high ceilings and large rooms in general. Rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed, with soft beds, Nespresso machines, large flat-screen TVs, and spacious bathrooms with rain shower. There's also a nifty privacy glass pane that can frost/defrost at the touch of a button. Standard Chuan spa bath amenities are on offer, and cover all the essentials. The furnishings are modern yet elegant, as one would expect. I enjoyed swimming a few laps at the pool, and the Chuan spa area looked quite nice as well. I also had the pleasure of dining at Travelle, which offers delicious contemporary cuisine in an upscale yet relaxed setting. Service was impeccable from the moment I arrived (even at 1am) - I was immediately greeted upon exiting my Uber, and escorted to the elevators to the lobby for check-in. All of the staff are exceptionally gracious and friendly, taking the time to remember your name and attending swiftly to any requests. read more

To celebrate our engagement, my fiancée and I decided to lavish ourselves in the many extravagant luxuries that have become synonymous with the Langham brand. Knowing they just opened their doors to another 5-star operation in Chicago, we were curious to see how the Langham matched up with the Peninsula, Waldorf Astoria, Four Seasons and Trump. We knew this place would be posh, but - truly - we had no idea just how ridiculously over-the-top and incredible this experience would be. With a quiet confidence, the Langham's understated outer exterior stands in stark contrast to the glitz and glam of the Trump. You are immediately greeted by a team of friendly faces and welcomed in with sophistication and class (this was a recurring theme from check-in through departure). You almost feel like you're in a different country with their commitment to kindliness and courtesy. All though-out the weekend, everyone on the staff warmly addressed my fiancée as "Mrs. Seberhagen," which was an incredibly nice personal touch, and everyone was so graceful in going the extra mile to make her feel special. I thought to myself these people were fit to serve kings. So, the understated exterior sets you up for a bit of an eye-opening surprise as you walk into the second-floor lobby for check-in and suddenly find yourself surrounded by a stunning display of mega-luxury magnificence. This sets the tone for what to expect from the Langham experience. That dazzling lobby was the perfect precursor to our drop-dead gorgeous luxury suite. The Langham features high-end finishes and timeless interiors with incredible views of the Chicago River and surrounding architecture, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows, motorized shades and curtains, hardwood floors, rain shower heads, personalized climate control, 360-degree surround sound, spacious marble bathrooms, soaking bathtubs, etc., and everything was as clean as a whistle. Gentlemen: Do yourselves a favor and send your special lady to the spa - you'll be a hero forever. That might be the best spa in the city. Certainly the best I've seen, so far. We really wanted to check out Travelle, but we'll have to save that for a later date. Same goes for the Club. The hotel was a bit like a city within a city - there was so much to see and do, and we joked that neither one of us really wanted to leave the comforts of our luxury suite to do the tourist thing in a world-class city, even in Chicago. Most definitely, we will be coming back. The Langham Chicago delivered the most incredible hotel experience of my life and it was the highlight of our engagement weekend. I stayed at the Langham Chicago for a board meeting and it was one of the best experiences I've had in a luxury hotel. The staff was impeccable and gracious tending to my every need. My room was Junior suite and it was absolutely gorgeous with a panoramic view of downtown Chicago through floor to ceiling windows. The attached pictures can give you a glimpse of the suite. There are many amenities in the room and the Travelle restaurant was fabulous for both breakfast and lunch. I also enjoyed in room dining with excellent selections and prompt service. I would highly recommend this five star hotel for either a quick luxurious getaway or business stay. read more

I needed a quick getaway weekend before it gets really cold in Chicago. I invited one of my best friend to accompany me to Chicago. We stayed here at the Langham in the Club Suite. The Langham Club suite was perfect. I was able to invite friends over since I had a living room with a half bath and they didn't need to go into my room. This suite is very chic and modern. I enjoyed the bathroom - it was so spacious! Perfect lighting to put our makeup on and get ready for a night out on the town. Also, our bathroom had a huge garden tub with Jacuzzi and a waterfall shower. This room was planned out wonderful. We had turn down service which was great. The staff here was wonderful as well. My girlfriend and I enjoyed staying here. We also went downstairs to the bar and to the restaurant a few times because we were kind of lazy on going outside to find something to eat. Everything we drank or eaten was delicious. I would totally recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a hotel to stay in Chicago. read more

Relatively well-appointment hotel but the service is lacking. I arrived to the hotel after a long, tough night of travel and the bellhop/ porters did not assist me with my bags. My husband surprised me with afternoon tea at the Pavilion, located on the 2nd floor of the Langham Hotel, for my birthday. The tea area was beautiful and everyone was so attentive. I never knew there was a tea sommelier, but I guess you learn something new everyday. I only drank decaf teas since I'm pregnant, but they were so good. I had the Vanilla Roobios and the Emperor's Chamomile. I really wish they sold these teas. My favorite parts were the finger sandwiches (deviled egg salad!) and the scones with jam and devonshire cream. The dessert course was just ok, I'd rather have another plate of sandwiches. There really isn't much of a view since all you really see is the trump tower and part of the Chicago River, but it was a beautiful experience. I'd highly recommend everyone try afternoon tea at the Pavillion, it's very good. read more

WOW~~ What a beautiful place. We were here for 3 nights and I loved it! Clean, bright and contemporary style rooms. BEAUTIFUL ROOMS. My husband and I went to the Langham tea on December 17. We had the most amazing attendant. He explained all if the food we would be getting and also explained the different teas. The room is fabulous. So peaceful and quiet. The harpist was a great touch. I highly recommend this tea for everyone. read more

This review is for an event that was held here. The Modern Bride magazine hosted a bridal event with the Spring 2016 Collection of Vera Wang wedding dresses showcased toward the end of the evening. There was a beautiful spinning table with glasses of bubbly, it was absolutely gorgeous. The snacks that were distributed to the guests were delicious, and FREE. Went here for holiday high tea. Everything was beautiful and delicious. I'll start with the ambiance. Decorated for Christmas is was quite lovely. The piano player was great, wasn't overly loud in there. They say they are booked but won't fill all the tables at the same time. About half were seated. Halfway through a children's choir came in and was singing Christmas carols. They were great! Wide variety of tea selections. All that we ordered were delicious. The finger sandwiches were perfect. I loved the Octopus crustini. The warm scones were delightful. The 2 jams and the butter were also very nice. Paired well. Even mixing a few together went well. The dessert spread was good. I was a little full by then :) but I took a bite of each. I liked the eggnog cream. Overall great experience! Would recommend and come back. Staff was also great! read more

My sister and I took our Mom here for tea at the pavillion off the second floor lobby area and it was really a memorable afternoon. The theme was Downton Abbey and they had cute Downton decorations on the couches and chairs, but it did not take away from the always chic decor. The waiter was so knowledgeable about the teas and food and we got an indepth explantation of everything that was served, with unlimited teapot refills while we sat and enjoyed first small sandwiches, then scones, and lastly mini desserts, over the course of a couple relaxing hours. Their reservations can be made through OpenTable and their website shows the current tea menu - we were advised the menu changes 4 or 5 times a year. No matter the season, this is a fun and classy outting in Chicago not to be missed read more

I absolutely love the langham in chicago. I actually chose to stay here because it was the weekend of my wedding and the hotel colors were the same color scheme for my wedding, so I thought it would compliment our getting ready pictures well. I made the right choice. Everything was fabulous. My room was upgraded, the staff was superb, the room was amazing, immaculate, well designed, extremely comfortable...I don't have a negative thing to say. The doormen were completely sweet and accommodating, the bellmen and concierge were wonderful, the room service was good and very quick. I had the pleasure of going to the spa for a quick eyebrow wax and it was extremely relaxing and the staff was wonderful. You really cannot beat this hotel. I will surely be back to celebrate upcoming anniversaries and wish we could have stayed longer. Stay here and you will not be disappointed. read more

I spent a heavenly morning at the Chuan Spa and I didn't want to leave! I had the 5 Wu Xing Elements In-One treatment - 2 hours of sheer delight. The Spa area is beautiful from the minute you walk in the door - this area is available to any guest which makes me sad because I wasn't able to stay there this week due to the Art Expo. I will make sure to book at Langham next time I'm in Chicago just for the Sauna, Steam Room and the tri bathing ritual rooms. Risa was my spa expert for the day and she was amazing. Very caring & knowledgeable. She explained each of the steps of the treatment and was really wonderful at helping me to leave my troubles and the door and just RELAX (which is difficult for most to do in this busy world!) The treatment was luxurious and included healing mud, head massage and overall massage. Ermagerd - just amazing. What I particularly loved about Risa was how much she loved her job and how much information she had about self care, treatment, etc. I had a lot of questions during the treatment and she was so helpful. OH, and the Dream Room afterwards was fantastic - it's like Star Trek meets spa world. They have these fabulous chairs with music, lights, heat, vibration. And then Risa brought me a glass of prosecco. She's really glad I actually left because I didn't want to. Here's a fun aside, I met a woman in the locker room who said she actually lives in Chicago and had googled "Spa" and The Langham showed up in the search. She had just finished with a massage and was in heaven. So, really, it's not just for travelers! Make sure to check out the rest of the hotel - the Business Center and Lobby Space on the 2nd floor is divine! This hotel is probably one of the best hotel experiences that I have had. Not only is the property perfectly maintained but the staff is extremely service oriented. No request is too small and no detail left unchecked. I liked that upon arrival, my room had a custom note, box of chocolates and a bottle of wine to welcome me. The rooms are designed beautifully and very comfortable. Extensive sealed limestone bath area with two person tub and shower with multi-function rain showerheads and instantly frosted glass at a flip of a switch. There is extensive lighting, sound systems with high functioning control systems for each at several access points in the room. A custom closet and dressing area includes a seating area and luxury items such bathrobes, slippers, shoe polish kits and even an umbrella. The room also has a nespresso machine with all of the necessities to go with it. Throughout the entire hotel the staff at Langham are amazing. All service comes with a smile and thank you! Ive never been treated so well. I can't say enough nice things about this very special place. I will definitely be a return client! read more

The Langham didn't get the #1 ranked hotel in Chicago on TripAdvisor for nothin'. This place is a no brainer five star. Without a flinch. To my surprise this hotel was less than a year old, something I did not even realize when booking. Great location in Chicago, right on the river, so close to so many great bars, restaurants, shopping, you name it... The service is impeccable... a word I don't use so often. I even got offered a "tour" of my room. The room is spotless clean, has great lighting technology --- yes, I would like to turn on the bathroom light from the bed!, great spacious bathroom with shower tub and separate toilet room + dual sinks, comfortable bed, big TV, and for the most part pretty quiet and very spacious for a major city hotel room. The hotel restaurant was suuuperbly delicious with very good service. The check in and downstairs areas were gorgeous. Never a wait for an elevator. Never a wait for a cab. Best stay I've had in Chicago. Great stay and great time. read more

Wow! I stayed here for two nights and I must say it was an over-the-top, luxurious experience. When getting out of the cab the bellman greeted me and showed me to the elevators to head to the lobby. Now the lobby is gorgeous with hanging glass and a neutral, inviting palette. The hallways on the guest room floors are a dark wood which gives it a cozy and rich feel. I stayed in the standard room with two double beds but there was nothing standard about it! There was a spacious wardrobe and vanity area, bathroom with tub and rain shower with an amazing glass partition between the beds and shower...with privacy glass at your control. The attention to detail is impeccable and some of my favorites were a gorgeous grey and gold chest that included snacks and barware neatly organized. The room included a Nespresso machine which is such a nice treat from horrific hotel room coffee. It's also nice that there are controls next to the bed for the lighting throughout the room so if you're snuggled up in bed, in the robe they provide, you don't have to get up to turn any lights off. Just reach over and it's there along with the privacy light so you won't be disturbed. The room service menu was also amazing! My only suggestions for making this visit even better is that turn-down service was at 6:30pm one night (too early) and 9pm another night (too late, but maybe I'm showing my age). Also on the day of checkout the maid rang our door bell twice at 8:30am which disturbed us during waking up. If it's checkout day this should not be happening. read more
