Wow, we drove up and were not sure. Outside standing bar, we have been driving for 5 hrs and wanted to sit. Decided to check it out and see if there is indoor seating, there was and we sat, still not sure. When Jeremy, server, cook and I assume everything else walked up, we were all in. What a great lil find, while visiting friends in the area. Looks like a classic divey burger stand, though their kitchen pumps out much better than average fare. While the burgers look awesome, I prefer the buffalo chicken wrap, with some steak fries. Ooooooh yeah! Decent food at a good price. The bathrooms are clean and the servers are friendly. There were lots of locals hanging out having a good time when we stopped in for an early dinner. I had the cheeseburger with a side of onion rings and my partner had the linguica burger. Neither of us were fans of the linguica burger and the cheeseburger was good, but not great. Awesome spot to grab some food and drinks! We were visiting Willows for a track event at Thunderhill and found this spot to try. Our host, Jeremy , made us feel right at home and made all the right recommendations. We had a great time chatting with him throughout our meal and are very happy with his level of service. Location is great too, with an option to eat inside or outside depending on the weather. But most important of all, the food was great!! Everything we had was a 5/5. We travel the 5 Corridor regularly. Our buddy told us to try this place said it had a really good vibe and the food was good. What we found was a group of locals hanging out joking, smoking and drinking. Not at all following any social distancing mandates. Fortunately we called in our order so the food was ready when we got there. We had a couple of burgers. Food was warm, no seasoning and no sauce so a pretty average burger nothing to rave about but it hit the spot. Staff seemed indifferent. Appears to be more of place geared to locals not visitors. Parking is challenging and the place is over run with flies. Doubt I would come back here. There are other places on the 5 Corridor that have better food in the same price range, for instance Granzella's in Williams or the Olive Pit in Corning. read more

A local restaurant where people are friendly, the lady waitresses are a hoot, and the food is just what we hoped for....good! Have a beer in this 1950's-60's retro place with booths sporting pink and blue Formica tops, or a variety or other choices. We really like Taco Tuesday, the awesome staff, but this past year we've not been able to get a WELL DONE BURGER. No matter how many times you tell them, well well well done it's still red or maybe a pinkish red. They just can't get the well done meaning. Well done is cooked inside to a brown not red, or reddish pink, there's no sign of pink, or red in the burger. Love the customer service, friendly faces, and the environment surrounding The Last Stand, but I just wish I could love the burgers again. I'll give once I get a burger well done again. Lots of local color! I had the grilled cheese (only vegetarian item on menu), DH had a burger and we split an order of fries. Both our sandwiches were tasty - good sourdough bread for mine. What a great stop on a long monotonous drive through central Cali! Food - excellent! Other reviewers were right on. My turkey grill on rye was the best I'd had in a long time with real sliced turkey - not the packaged lunch meat stuff! Draft beer selection is minimal but in addition to the basics (Coors, Bud) they do have a couple Sierra Nevada brews. Glasses are kept on ice for a frosty cold beer. The atmosphere was the best. The locals were inviting and friendly...blue color small town folks. And for you ladies - take a seat at the shuffle boards turned tables, facing the bar for a VERY nice view of Wranglers lined up at the stand-up bar! And don't fret - looks like a possibility in the cold and rain also - heaters were pointed out to us with a very warm invitation to return. This will definitely be a regular stop on my travels through Central California! read more

If you're on a road trip on I5 and are lamenting that In and Out is too far behind you, stopping here will remind you that before In N Out the best burgers and fries were at local places like this. Generously sized and incredibly tasty burgers, curly fries and tater tots that are every bit as awesome as the other reviewers have said, six different sauces as accompaniments, all for maybe 10$ a person. They make up for not having shakes and only offering soda in cans with a hefty dose of atmosphere and colorful but friendly locals. If we ever do this same road trip again, stopping here will be mandatory for whoever I'm in the car with. read more

The burgers are not much better than fast food. The culture of the establishment, for some, is the reason to buy a burger. Farwood in Orland and I-5 Cafe have better burgers. Lastly, I will not give a business my money which has not followed social distancing guidelines/rules and remained open as a hang out with customers standing side by side during "essential business" orders. If you like this kind of "Trump" defiance, then try it out or try it out to experience "Trump Country" culture in California. We stopped by The Last Stand on the drive from Ashland to SF. Other reviews talked-up the burgers and I was really looking forward to one along with a cold one. When we pulled-up around 7 p.m. we found a mostly deserted bar down by the railroad tracks. Turns out the grill closes at 5 p.m. and all they were serving was fried food. Their beer selection is small but you can probably find something to your liking. Really wish I got to try their burger :( read more

I almost made the mistake of turning around when we drove to it from the highway as we were headed home to San Jose, from our trip up to Shasta. I would stop here again, even though I usually eat much healthier foods. Splurge!! Get the french fries, or the tater tots! I had the turkey sandwich, with cheese & grilled, of course. Lots of butter so it's nice & crunchy, and delicious. The turkey is,...get this...real turkey meat. Not processed, sliced on a meat slicer "turkey", but the real deal. My husband had the burger & he said it was great! Our waitress was super friendly, super efficient, and she was running the bar & the inside tables like a pro! This is a true hamburger stand. It's partially outside and you can tell everyone in town loves this joint. I live out of town but frequent this place only because my husband and I go to a horse trainer in Ord Bend. The burgers are amazing. The sports pharaphrnially is great. I'm a SF Giants and Niners fan but they cater to all bay area fans. They have it all. You can watch the game chit chat with the locals who are super friendly. Not to mention you can eat an amazing burger! You have your choices of toppings and cheeses. The waitress even brought us more condiments. They have a chipotle spread that I highly recommend putting on your burger. If you pass through this town stop by and have a burger. read more

It took awhile to get the attention of our server, she seemed more interested in counting her tips for the day. But when she finally acknowledged us, the world was great again.
