A friend and I wanted to grab a bite to eat and this was a halfway point. I've been here once before downstairs for a work event and it was a good time. Around 7 pm on a Friday, I did see before we got there that there was live music, and if I knew how loud it was going to get I would have chosen a different restaurant. Service was OK, had to grab her a few times for water & drinks, but she did nicely give us space because we were gabbing a bit and taking a long time to even look at the menu. Fried pickles, basic and good. My friend liked her bacon-wrapped scallops. Next up was crab stuffed mushroom, again these were OK. Ashley got next goat cheese fritters. What I was expecting vs what we got was slightly disappointing. Zero thought was put into them, with no seasoning. Honey on the side helped. Now my biggest issue, the short rib cheese fries with the American cheese sauce and short rib gravy, who are you kidding? It was not the greatest fries, melted cheese on the bottom of the plate, tough meat on top and with what tasted like BBQ on that. I highly recommend you pick something else. Spent a Saturday afternoon at this lively restaurant. I tried the General Tso's chicken, served with broccoli and white rice. The crispy chicken sandwich was crunchy but lacked sauce, which was a bit disappointing. Fries were crispy and well-seasoned. The wings had good crunch but were on the fatty side, and the Fox Sticky Sauce wasn't my favorite--I'd probably try a different Asian-inspired flavor next time. The food alone was a 3-star experience, but the spacious interior, fun fox-themed decor, and friendly staff bumped it up to 4 stars. Is my first time in this formidable place and so far is an incredible experience. Excellent environment, friendly service (Sofia is an amazing waitress), great menu choices (Sofia have a wonderful skill and knowledge of the menu, she give us clear recommendation. Now let's see how decent food the is and at affordable prices can be. By the way the band is amazing and is not to noisy is perfect I love it. Ok now we have our food "I fell in love with Chicken wings, and the burger with fries, the Mac-n-cheese was ok , but still good!! This place really knows how to cook authentic Americans night out food I highly recommend this restaurant and our server Sofia she definitely knows her Job. I will be definitely coming back". Food is damn good! I've had the wings here; loved. Spicy lamb bolognese is absolute Class. Lamb chops entree is some of the best I've had anywhere and I've had more than a few helpings. I posted below the Chstk egg rolls and they are hefty and delicious in my book. My folks got the Pho and said they liked it (I have yet to try). Was little skeptical about a $15 general Tao chicken. My bad to doubt. Absolutely gorgeous. Service has been solid every time I've come here. I'm forgetting some names but thanks Julia and Jasmine. The ambiance is engaging. Lots of TVs to watch your stuff. Dance floor with stage, sizeable bar and plenty table sitting for you entourage. Best seller here for me is the food! Decent drink selection to which is always a huge plus I'll be trying many things off this menu again. Late lunch after the movies. Our server was friendly, efficient and helpful. Appetizers: Pretzel rods - soft and tasty with the cheese sauce Fried pickles - overly breaded Cheesesteak egg rolls - solid attempt Pork dumplings - some kind of seasoning that just didn't work for me and the pork mixture inside was dry Sandwiches were a nice size with a large helping of fries. I ordered the Buffalo chicken Parmesan and macaroni sub. Basically just what it sounds like. Breaded Buffalo chicken with macaroni and cheese. Very tasty but messy. The Cobb salad was ordered without blue cheese. When it came to the table the server was quick to remove and reorder another salad. CLASSYFIED played here on January 30th. Other than the ceilings being too high, to no fault of this beautiful restaurant, they sounded fabulous. Yes, the band gets most of this credit, but LF show cased them really nicely. I loved the lighting as they performed. PPE in place, including . . . NO DANCING! Yikes! I STILL can't write a food review because I still haven't had any. I had a Moscato (came in it's own cute tiny carafe). It was good and filled almost half of the large wine glass. My friend had a chicken parm sandwich and joked for me to Yelp about it. Little did he know, that I would be! He said that it was REALLY good. Actually "the best" he'd had. Wow, nice. Stopped in early to this huge restaurant. Very large first floor with rooms that branch off to other rooms that can be used for private parties, as well as a large basement which had a DJ apparently every Friday. They were playing oldies down there so we hung upstairs at the large bar. Super friendly staff very helpful. The menu is interesting and has a Asian flair to it. We had a few of the appetizers which were all very good. They're Asian foxy sauce was sweet and tangy and pretty good on the wings. Would have preferred a different type of sauce for dipping the cheese curds in, but the cheese curds were good as well. The apps went down well with the good selection of beers and cocktails. As the night progressed the place got crowded and a live band started playing upstairs as well. Good to know that there's a place you can come and dance and has live music throughout the week. It's all about the music! The place is a cross between sports bar and nice restaurant. Live music was really good, not too loud either. However food, not so much. Ordered Steak frites, which usually are steak circles and a full size steak arrives. Ok no problem there, but I asked for rice instead of fries. I'm served a small ramekin of dry sticky rice with nothing on it. The steak frites said it was in herb butter so I asked for butter for the rice. After several minutes, my husband (who ordered Gen Tso chicken with a ton of broccoli but the chicken tasted good in all fairness) flags a waitress, ours is no where to be seen, and I get two cold pats of butter. Not to mention the steak is pretty overdone for a medium. You can read my reviews, I don't usually complain so it's gotta be a bit more than just inconvenience. Came here with a friend to have drinks and watch the game. The restaurant was recently purchased by new owners and have only been open since 9/19/2019. Given such, I was partially prepared for the empty venue. The bar was about half full and the dining area patrons were placed sparsely throughout the restaurant. It was a Thursday night so I didn't necessarily expect a full house. Actually I'm quite pleased that the house wasn't full because then I was given the time to walk around the restaurant to view the various eating areas and private rooms and I was able get to know the staff. The restaurant has two bars in the main dining area, two private dining spaces, a separate section with a stage for live performances, a rotisserie and a fire hearth oven for pizzas. Lots of high tops, four tops to put together for larger parties and booths. My friend and I were seated in one of the private dining area called The Green Room. There were a few of us to watch the game. We ordered plenty of food and drinks. This room is comprised mainly of recliner chairs and a few tables. There is also a private bar for booked functions. There is another room called The Den which is downstairs. It is a separate banquet style room that seats 75 or has room for 100 standing. This is a pretty cool space that is wheelchair accessible (BONUS!!) as there is an elevator. this private area also has a separate bar, a stage area, and a kitchen so that if the restaurant is running there's an entirely separate staff that comes in to accommodate the private party. SUPER BONUS!!!! I was also able to speak with managers Lynn and Scott, and Ross, the chef. Super cool staff. Open to feedback. I noticed that they hadn't claimed their business on Yelp and I was able to walk Lynn though the process of claiming the business. Hopefully more people will come to the restaurant and enjoy the good food and friendly staff here. I will definitely return. read more

This was my first time there, I was meeting a few friends for drinks on a Friday evening around 7. The place is super nice inside, very big, spacious, clean. We sat at a high top near the bar. Our waitress was very nice, but service was a little slow. maybe they are short staffed, because it wasn't super crowded. The band came on around 8, and it started getting busier. Not sure if the normal crowd age is 60+, or if it was the band playing that they came to see. If this is your age group and looking to go out and dance and listen to live music , this is the place. I am 50, so I'm also not looking to hang with all 20 something's. We did order and appetizer sampler, which took about an hour to come out. It's only a bunch of fried stuff, so I don't know what why it took so long. I will probably check it out again for dinner. read more

They had a great band when we went. We went some trendy place first where the staff was rude and obnoxious And they only had a DJ. We called and they fit us in. We left and ran over. We got drinks and food timely. Husband had a seafood combo it was surprisingly good for not being a seafood place. I had a burger and fries. Fries were way too salty but my sandwich was good! A full night at Laughing Fox with fun for everyone! We started downstairs with DJ Pepper Paul spinning oldies and more. Lots of cocktails, food, and laughter. Carly kept the drinks & food flowing in a really nice atmosphere. I had the Pork Gyozo, which were great with dipping sauce. PIzzas at our table were devoured, and an appetizer sampler was plentiful & enjoyed. Moving upstairs for the band, we were fortunate to get the side room by the band for our large party. It provided a great space to eat & drink more, and also easy access to the dance floor & bathrooms. Friends ordered a perfectly cooked burger & plentiful chicken parm with pasta. Jordan took care of us all night as we danced the night away. Kudos to the manager, Bernadette, for accomodating our party of many first-time patrons. We all plan to come back:) read more

I would have LOVED to have given this place more stars.. but they've got lots to improve on! First off... it's GORGEOUS and STUNNING inside! Feels like you're at a Ski Lodge and taking a break in a cozy cabin type lodge. Came on a Sunday during lunchtime for some food and football. The bar are is I've and has lots of seating all around the bar with lots of TV screens for your viewing pleasure. There's also a few private rooms for private parties... one is a little more casual with comfy chairs and the other one is more of a little private seating area separate from the main area. There's also another level that wasn't finished when we went. For Sunday lunch.. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the full menu as a choice for food, but at least they did have a few selections for the Bar Menu. I went with the Crab Cake sandwich and husband went with the Rotisserie Chicken Sandwich, both came with fries. The food didn't take that long.. but when I receive my sandwich... I had to look for the crab cake lol.. the crab cake ratio to bread sucked... felt like it was the size for a slider. So I had a lot of bread left. Also there was no seasoning to the crab cake... it could have been great because I thought it at least had a good amount of crabmeat at least. The husband said his Rotisserie Sandwich also needed more flavor as well. Fries were good tho! Few brews on draft.. only one being from their own brew. So nothing special to run out of my way for. While I would have loved to have loved this place more.. the food just didn't meet my expectations. Came here on a whim while visiting my sister who just moved into the area. Really liked the venue and location. We ordered appetizers. Wings were good, mozzarella sticks were great and the garlic mashed potatoes hit the spot after the drive down. They had a live band playing that Thursday evening which really set the mood. They were ok, but didn't taste like there was much crab in them. More cheese than anything. For drinks I ordered a purple haze which was delicious! It was so good, I began making them at home lol. I came here for their all you can eat wings special. I tried their friend calamari, too. Before I get into this review, let me say this: maybe I was here on an off night. Maybe they had their 2nd string line cook working. I don't know. But I don't think I'll be back anytime soon (to eat). So. The wings and calamari. Do yourself a favor and skip em. Eat almost anything else. The calamari was so overdone and tough that it was like chewing on breaded key rings. The sauce was weird, too. Not marinara. Some strange, syrupy concoction that dripped everywhere. I don't know what it was, but it wasn't very good. And the wings were all overcooked (think the turkey in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation), super tough to chew, and the bones of the "drums" sections were all splintered, which made it difficult (not to mention dangerous) to eat! The wing sauce was mediocre at best and was served in a cup, not on the wings (not a deal-breaker; it actually kept things less messy, which I kinda liked). That said, the service was good, the beer was cold, and the band added a nice ambience. Just be very careful what you order for your meal. Actually, maybe stay away from anything fried because apparently their line cook likes to fry everything until it's the consistency of breaded sheet metal. read more

Yesterday...I went there with my boyfriend for the first time. AFTER BUYING 2 full lunches, and 2 beers EACH...we asked for 2 glasses of water and were told there would BE A CHARGE FOR THE WATER. I nicely "reminded" them that I had JUST SPENT $62 BUCKS ALREADY and yeah, I could see that if I had not spent a dime, BUT???? The owner, a Asian guy...was very nasty about it. SO NASTY in fact, when I balked and said I would say something about it on social media...HE THREATENED TO CALL THE COPS ON ME. We PAID our $62 lunch bill and left. Here I am on social media TALKING ABOUT IT Laughing Fox. (LMAO!) (Whoops. THAT was uncalled for). I'm not too sure what it was. The fried pickles were ok, the pickles were too floppy to even bite a bite off. The "ranch" was so thick like sour cream. The wings we got tastes over cooked. Came here with my husband for dinner last week and the service was awful. We were seated next to the bar where a band was getting ready to play last Friday night. I would tell you my servers name but she never introduced herself because she was in the bathroom for 15 minutes. The sever in that section kept apologizing for her and offered to take our drink order but we told her we would wait because she had her own tables to take care of! She had three tables when we sat down and our sever only had us. Drink order - I asked if I could have a white peach sangria which sounds difficult but its not. White wine, fruit, and peach schnapps. Our server looked at me like I had 5 heads and said no they only do wine and Sprite for sangria so that was a quick no. My husband got a beer and was fine with that. Food - we ordered calamari, lobster bisque, margarita pizza, and a Laughing fox burger. The lobster bisque was phenomenal. It came with shrimp inside that melted in your mouth that was a little weird but the flavor of the soup was awesome. The calamari was over fried so it was not edible. The margarita pizza was overly powered by all of the sauce that was on it. My husband got the burger and it had half of a tomatoe on it and undercooked fries. We sent the calamari back and delt with the rest since again, our server dissapeared and only came back once. Unfortunately we will not be back. Not the best experience but I wish the new owners good luck on the new resturant! read more

My wife and I decided to try the Laughing Fox tonight, they had a decent amount of people at the bar and some at tables, hostess was nice and sat us right away, we checked out the menu and decided what we wanted then waited...and waited...and waited. After 15 mins of waiting without even being acknowledged we left. As we were leaving, the hostess and about 4 servers were at the entrance chatting so it's not like they were busy. One would think that a new restaurant would be on point to make a great first impression on new clientele, but apparently they couldn't be bothered to even acknowledge we were there. Many people in this area WANT this place to succeed..as we do. Sadly, unless they get their act together, this will wind up ANOTHER failed venue at this location. UPDATE 9/26/19: After our lack of service, I had emailed the manager, and he apologized for our experience, and invited us back. Fair enough. We took him up on it this evening. We were seated right away, and our waitress, Kelly, greeted us right away. This experience was totally different, and service was excellent. We don't expect to have our 'butt kissed' at ANY establishment, but Kelly, and Harry (the manager) treated us very well, and were BOTH apologetic for our earlier experience. I chalk the first visit experience up to teething pains. We just wanted a couple of appetizers and a pizza, so we ordered the fried calamari, wings, and a margarita pizza. Calamari was very good, but the wings were OUTSTANDING! I don't think I've ever had wings that were that tender! They pretty well fell apart, and the wings were HUGE! Very nice, sticky sauce too! Ask for extra napkins, cause you'll need them!! Excellent! Pizza was also excellent! Love the sauce, and the crust had a nice chew to it! Great job, guys!! Harry didn't need to comp the meal, that's not why I let him know about our first experience (from a professional standpoint, I would want to know what I'm doing right, and more importantly what I'm doing WRONG), but thank you very much! This place is beautiful, inside & out. Live music, great cocktails, plenty of tv's, & very friendly bartenders. We just saw it while driving by and stopped in to check it out. Had a couple drinks, but didn't try the food. Our only complaint was the background music & band were SO LOUD we couldn't hear the people sitting with us or waiting on us. Get that under control and this place could be great! We'll definitely be back to try the food, but hoping we won't have to scream to socialize with each other next time. read more

This was 2nd visit since opening. The first was during the 2nd week of the grand opening and the place was a cluster and so unorganized. Figured I'd give them some time to get their act together. Wife and I sat at the bar and ordered drinks. Wife order a cider beer, Miller Lite draft myself. My draft beer was flat, no bubbles, at all. I told the bartender and she replaced it with a bottle. The 2nd bartender verbally acknowledged the issue with the beer tap system, so their was in fact an issue that management was informed about but was brushing off with their customers/staff. I ordered the sticky wings which I had on my first visit that were previously really good, and we also ordered a pretzels. They apps came out which took a little longer than normal, but no biggie. Pretzels were soft, warm, and the dips were good. The wings were awful this time. They were not drums and flats as one/attached like previously, which yielded 12 wings total. This time their were 6 wings all separate and much smaller in the size from previous. Same price on the menu though....The sticky sauce was not nearly as tasty or caramelized, and they totally skipped the cilantro seasoning. The chicken didn't taste 100% either, and I'm not sure if the crappy sauce was causing this. At this point after eating the wings and most of the pretzels, we decided to pack it up and close out our check. We literally headed to Applebees in Somerdale to finish our evening. The Laughing Fox is worth laughing at, alright. This place is a big SKIP, and its sad that we can't spend our money and support a local business because I cant get over the quality that has gone down hill in a big way in a 2.5 month period! It's a very attractive-looking place but I think they would do well to invest more in the food and service than in the decor. Our server was nice and she was attentive at first, but then disappeared and we waited for what seemed to be forever in between courses. We actually ended up cancelling our desserts because it was taking too long. The food was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special either. I was most disappointed in my salad. It was the Apple & Chevre salad, which the menu described as having granny smith apples, dried cranberries, almonds and Chevre - my favorite type of salad. Well, it was 99% greens and I picked through the salad trying to find any apples, almonds or Chevre and there was close to none. I would estimate the amount of Chevre in the salad amounted to the size of 2 peas, if that. Also, the dressing was far too tart and overly sweet. It was not balanced. The seafood bisque soup was pretty good. The mac & cheese was decent but it wasn't anything special. Honestly, I could throw together a better mac & cheese at home in about 10 minutes. My dining companion liked the vegan shepherd's pie. So all in all, while we liked the look of the place, we were otherwise underwhelmed and would not return. read more

We ordered the wild mushroom pizza and the steak udon salad. The salad came first and the pizza took a bit longer but both were very flavorful and delicious. We would visit again !
