DISAPPOINTING * UNMET EXPECTATIONS * POOR COMMUNICATION * LACK OF ACCOUNTABILITY…read more We rarely leave negative reviews, but after trying to resolve this privately, we feel others should know about our experience. This wasn't just another event--it was our daughter's first birthday, a once-in-a-lifetime milestone. The owners mentioned they'd done over 250 events, but for us, this was our one and only chance to celebrate. Unfortunately, we didn't feel that was fully recognized or respected. PROMISED vs. PROVIDED Promised: We would be closely involved in the decoration process, receiving regular updates and having our preferences considered. Provided: We didn't hear from them until the day before the event, when a single photo was sent. We had to reach out about the slideshow since no one asked for our pictures. A projector was promised, but the slideshow played on a small TV in the corner. We chose the top package, expecting a premium experience, but the decorations felt rushed, incomplete, and not as promised. There was no ceiling décor, no "First Birthday" banner like we had seen in other events, and the sign even started falling apart during the party. When we raised concerns before guests arrived, we were met with excuses rather than solutions. Removing the green backdrop was said to be too time-consuming, so the rest of the decorations were left unfinished. We also agreed to reduce the package cost by $180 since we didn't use their food service. Later, it was described as a special discount, which wasn't how we agreed. The most disappointing part was the owners' attitude. When we calmly explained our concerns, one owner dismissed us with hand gestures, said, "I'm sorry I didn't meet your expectations. This is what we have," and walked away. They didn't check in during the event or follow up afterward. Before this review, I called hoping to resolve things privately, but the owner said she didn't want to discuss it anymore. That call only reinforced our concerns. We also asked if the AC could be lowered since guests were uncomfortable, but we were told it couldn't go below 70°. The staff, however, was kind, respectful, and tried their best after the owners left. We appreciate their efforts and wish the owners had matched that level of care. This review isn't about perfection it's about the trust we put in a premium service for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Communication, effort, accountability, and respect should match the promises made. Sadly, we left feeling like our special moment was just another booking. It appeared to me That they were behaving to us just because we were person of colored GIVEN HOW THE OWNERS BEHAVED WITH US. I FEEL PRETTY CERTAIN WE MIGHT GET MORE EXCUSES FROM THE OWNER FOR LEAVING THIS REVIEW.

Although the hotel was about 20 minutes from downtown, the reasonable price during a busy holiday weekend made it a good choice. We checked in at 3:00 PM, but there was a slight delay, and we had to wait around 30 minutes to get the keys to our room. Our room had two double-sized king beds, which were comfortable and spacious enough for our family of three to share one bed easily. The only issue we faced during our stay was with the air conditioner. We set it to automatic, but it was either too cold or too warm, making it difficult to maintain a consistent temperature in the room. On the positive side, the breakfast provided by the hotel was included in our stay and was delicious. It was convenient to have a good breakfast without needing to spend extra money. Overall, our stay at Holiday Inn Express & Suites was comfortable, and we didn't encounter any major problems.

We held our breath however, because our first room was 206 and they moved us to 306, so we wondered if we would have the same issue. The second room initially seemed fine, so we unpacked our things and went out to enjoy the "Nights of Lights." We also had stopped at a German bakery along the way and had $30 of pastries in a box that we placed on a high shelf, just in case. On returning to our room about 10:30pm, we noticed ants again, everywhere, on the bedside table, the bathroom sink, bathroom wall, and kitchenette counter. I went to the front desk again, but they informed us there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked for the night. We felt like we were stuck for the night, so went back to the room and sat down to eat a pastry only to discover the box was crawling with ants! We packed up our things and went back downstairs and informed the desk it was worse than we realized and we were leaving. Since we booked through a third party, they informed us we had to contact the third party to request a refund. We made the three hour drive home at midnight. The next morning we contacted the third party, who then reached out to the hotel directly to get approval for the refund. The agent came back and said the hotel was only willing to refund us for two nights, not three! I asked to escalate the issue with a supervisor and explained that we should not be charged for a room we did not spend the night in. She called the hotel again and said the hotel was firm about only refunding us for two nights. Thankfully the third party agreed to refund us the other night, which they certainly did not have to do. It appears this is an ongoing problem, because I have now seen another review with complaints of ants and the hotel being unwilling to refund them as well. So not only is there an ant infestation, but there is also a lack of basic customer service from management. DO NOT stay at this hotel ever!

He's really into parkour, and the weekly program gives him a great mix of structured learning and active play. The instructors are friendly and knowledgeable, and I appreciate that they break the kids into smaller groups of about eight, which helps keep things more manageable. That said, with so many kids in the gym at once, it can get a bit chaotic. The instructors rotate frequently, which makes it harder to track individual progress, but on the plus side, it means my son gets to learn from different coaching styles. The staff is on the younger side, but they bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm, which keeps the kids engaged. One thing I really like is how they change up the course and layout every week and focus on different themes to keep things fresh and exciting. Overall, it's been a great experience, and my son always looks forward to going. A little more consistency with coaching would be nice, but if your kid is into parkour, this is a great place to train and have fun! They also offer a paid trial class and fee for open gym if you're interested in checking it out. They also have themed special events such as Fortnite Night, Minecraft, Ninja Warrior Night, etc. They also offer options for camp and focused clinics.
