We are so sad that they are closing forever. Their last day is Sunday, 8/11. We have been eating there regularly for five or six years and have never been disappointed. Even if the food weren't wonderful the staff would make every evening there a pleasure. They are upbeat, clever, and run their butts off. We will especially miss the Liberty Rolls, the Twist & Sprouts, and the Shepherd Pie, items you can't get anywhere else. The pizzas and calzones are unique and delicious as well. Often times these Yelp reviews can be overly harsh and lack substantiation. However, read them closely. There are little gems as there was with this pub. One review mentioned how this pub is their go to place when they have company come into town. For me, that was the hook that brought me and my wife in. Don't wait, RUN to this place. It's really and English Pub that does incredible pizza. If anything else on the menu is like the pizza, I've just found my new favorite restaurant. They do have a full menu with a well selected bar. When we came in, the bartender greeted us and was quite friendly. Told us what was on TV, seated us and offered us drinks. With no drink in mind, I asked for a pirate drink! Yes, I asked for that! He worked his magic and I got something along the lines of a Mia Tia. We came for the pizza and it was pizza we got. We got the carnivore minus the onions and bell peppers. The picture doesn't do it justice. We didn't wait long. The pizza was amazing. A ton of toppings. (This is a pizza you'll eat with a fork - don't hate on people for that!) Good tasting fresh toppings. No canned junk. The sauce was tasty - too much for the wife but just right for me and I'm writing this, so it was perfect!! The pizza base is thin. The edge was a thick crispy doughy great tasting hunk of bread! We were told all their dough is made internally. It did taste real fresh. First impression is excellent. We got take out pizza and their anti pasta salad. Both great. Don't be fooled by the fancy roping on the pizza crust, this is a thin crust, foldable (if not for the aforementioned roping) pizza. Just like we like it. Salad was nice with extra points for the house made dressing. I think we just found our pizza place in town. Note- kids not allowed. Just get take out and call them when you get there. First time visitor, as I heard about this pub from a co-worker. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and a overstuffed club sandwich. They also serve a very large variety of ice cold beer. Was passing by on our way back from the Redwoods, headed to Eugene. Walked into what looked like a dark pub in Ireland (which I've been to). The place was full of locals and we were greeted at the bar by the owner. We quickly got drinks and then ordered some food. The burgers are made in a calzone dough. Great twist to a standard burger. The pizza was extremely tasty. They definitely have a good dough recipe. The best part of it all, the garlic fries!!! Hands down, best I've ever had. You would not know how cool this place is just from looking at the outside! We were on a road trip staying at an inn about a half a mile down the street and the owner recommended we stop by for dinner and live music (a Celtic band that practices there on Wednesdays). I am a bit of a pizza snob, as a retired master chef I have to say this is perfect pizza! The bartender took our order which was a pepperoni and mushroom with olive. It was almost ready when I arrived and he offered me a taste of my favorite beer. Shortly after I finished my beer the pie was delivered to me. After a short drive home we tasted and decided the is where we pizza ! Plenty of toppings crust done to perfection ( like the yelp photos show ) and can't be beat. Roger has decided to call it quits, and sold to a husband/wife couple who wanted to keep the tradition of a bar in that building alive, while maintaining a very similar atmosphere to what Roger's Zoo was. After several months of clean-up, building repairs, and restoration, with a lot of help from Roger along the way, the result is quite beautiful. This place has a very quiet, casual and relaxed atmosphere. Its a place to go after work, or, with it's proximity to the Little Theatre on the Bay, a place to go after the show. It is a place meant to go with a few friends and enjoy some good conversation. There are two sides to the place, a restaurant side, where minors are allowed, so if you wish to bring your family down, you may. All beer/wine/liquor offerings can be had on the family side restaurant side. Then of course, there is the pub side. The selection of beers here is very good. There are 11 beers on tap, most of them microbrews, brewed out of Oregon and the northwest. However, there is also Coors Light and Budweiser on tap as well. There are also numerous canned and bottled beers (referred to on the chalk board as "draft dodgers") which are also microbrews, though Guinness is offered in a can. There are numerous high quality liquor offerings as well as very good red and white wines. The food here is excellent as well. The pizza is amongst the best you will find. The fish and chips are quite delicious. You will also find Shepherd's Pie here. A unique menu item to try to the Pub Rolls. They are difficult to describe other than delicious. The stage, which is on the pub side is still there, and has also been repainted and walled with old album covers, and a new dance floor was laid down. This means that in the future, there will be live music offerings. There will be some cover bands, but there will mainly be original music, which will not be too loud. There are also 3 big screen tv's on the pub side, so if you wish to watch a sporting event, you may. However, if you are someone who isn't into tv's don't worry, they are not overwhelming, and the sound will remain turned off (except for special instances such as championship level professional and college sporting events, as well as Duck and Beaver football). Other cool features of this place include a back smoking deck, and a chalkboard painted wall at the front door, where customers are encouraged to write on the wall. So come on down with a full stomach, but also a full wallet, as The Liberty Pub is ever so slightly on the spendy end. But let me tell you: being able to avoid rowdy 20-somethings, plus the quality of the food and drinks is very well worth a couple of extra bucks. read more

Went out here the other night to grab a beer and were pleasantly surprised by the place. Has a nice cozy vibe. There was live piano music happening. Good people calm relaxing place to enjoy a beer and some Good food. We split a personal size sausage/pepperoni pizza for an appetizer and were really impressed with the quality of it. Best pizza I've had in a while. Really fresh, hearty ingredients. They have a good beer selection both on top and bottled. The decor really flows well, the owner seems to have had a clear vision when they put this place together. There's live music often, friendly bar staffing just a nice crowd overall. Absolutely wonderful! The owner sources all kinds of wonderful beers on tap, often limited runs of seasonal or hard-to-find taps. The atmosphere is dark wood, cozy, and NOT sketchy: a classic pub with local patrons and friendly barkeeps. We're not a great fan of pub food. We are great fans of great food and here you will find it! Everything is fresh, kitchen made and wonderfully tasty. The ruben special was fantastic, hot cooked-right corned beef with sauerkraut (not bitter or salty) stuffed into a pizza crust bread that was really delicious! OMG, this is a must try if you go there! Served with fresh cut fries that are crunchy on the outside and soft, salty and absolutely delicious! Their shepherd's pie is the bomb! A taste treat for your tongue, even if it's not made with lamb (like mom used to make), it is darn close. The soft spicy aftertaste is just wonderful and sends your tastebuds into orbit. The staff is friendly and very cordial to their customers, old timers and new! If you want to have a real treat, ask for their pig feathers! Whoa, if you love pork cracklings at all, this is Nirvana for you. Ladies, watch out for Steve Buchemi in the ladies room! The story behind that is quite funny. Lived in Coos Bay for 17yrs...this is by far my favorite place for date night with my wife. The food & drinks are fantastic, especially the fried brussel sprouts with a balsamic glaze and freshly made pork rinds they call "pig feathers"...the people are super friendly and love to serve their customers. Ever been to a place that truly cares about what they serve? This establishment is one of those places. I've been here only a few times, but that's usually all I need to see the passion (or lack there of) in a business. They have a wonderful beer selection and display it proudly. I've had a few appetizers and they're pretty good at getting your appetite going. Pizza is wonderful, the toppings are added like it's an art form.
