Found Lime via Yelp* and what a find it was. Fierce, fabulous and fresh! Service was friendly and we felt like we were lunching in someone's eclectic living room. My husband, a self proclaimed burger and fries guy, ordered the Blacked Chicken Pita and, no lie, laying in bed 8 hours later was still raving about it. I started with the Gazpacho. It was crunchy, spicy and refreshing on a 100 degree day. Awesomeness in a bowl! I then moved to the Lime Salad. So crisp and a great cool down from the runny nose peppery high of the gazpacho. If you are looking for french fries, you won't find them here. The standard side dish here is delicious crunchy brown rice and a slice of seasonal fresh fruit. Ours happened to be ripe cantaloupe. My Wife and a friend went for lunch today at The Lime. I stayed home. They each took their car. We only have 1 car. I get a phone call from the friend telling me they are at Norwalk Hospital and my Wife is in the Emergency Room. My Wife started choking on her food in the restaurant. An ambulance had to take her to the hospital. The friend followed the ambulance in her car. They dislodged a walnut from her throat. I was told to wait home because they were going to release her after a couple of hours observation. The friend waited there and brought my Wife home. I tucked my Wife into bed, and the friend took me to get our car, which was still at The Lime. During the ride there, she told me they charged them for the lunch. I could not believe it. When we got to the restaurant, we both went in and spoke to the Manager, who was also their Server, so he knew what happened. I asked him how could he charge them for the food when she was choking in the restaurant and they called 911 for an ambulance. The Manager said they did nothing wrong, and he saw no reason for any consideration. There were other people in the restaurant now, watching and listening to this. I apologized to them. They said no need. The Manager was totally in the wrong. This went on at least 5-10 minutes. The Manager refused to refund anything. I said fine. But I waved my IPhone at him on the way out, and told him I was putting this on the Internet. He started following me out and said ok, ok, I'll refund your money. I looked over my shoulder and said too late. You really showed how classless and heartless you are. Thank G-D my Wife is ok, and in bed sleeping. My only regret was not getting the Manager's name, but he had to be 45-60 years old. Update: Speaking with the Manager now. read more

I've been a patron for years and was saddened when I heard the place changed hands. The menu and food remain the same but that's about all. The new owner has no customer service skills, can't seem to keep help, doesn't know the basics ( like refill water glasses and bring utensils) and doesn't even greet customers when they walk in! The last two trips I waited 20 minutes to get acknowledged, over 20 additional minutes to place my order never got any water and waited 5 minutes after my food was served to get a fork ( which I finally got up and found for myself). The good food is definitely run over by the poor management and lack of skilled table service. I'm being generous with three stars. read more

This place was very interesting in a good way. We tried the falafel salad, which was outstanding as well as the California burger on pita bread which was also very good but hard to eat because it was so big. In fairness, the waitress did warn me and suggested the same sandwich as a roll up, but we love pita bread so we didn't take her suggestion. We also tried the hummus platter and we liked it a lot. If there are only 2-3 in your party, I recommend the half platter because it is huge. Overall it is a very good restaurant with very fresh, house-made ingredients. Definitely recommend it. read more

I actually hate to write this post and I've never gone out of my way to write a negative post for anything but here we go... I have loved the Lime since I got my drivers license over 20 years ago. I would go so often that the waitress Lisa actually knew my order just by my voice when I called. I recently tried to place an order and was given the most unnecessary attitude by whom I think is the owner. I placed my usual order and I mentioned that I would pay in gift card when I got there. The man told me they don't accept gift cards and that I had to give him the number off the back before placing my order. I didn't have the gift card with me as I was in a store and they were in my car in a parking garage 2 blocks away so I said I'd just bring it in. He gave me such attitude saying if it's a year past the issue date they won't accept it. I have asked several attorneys and this is ILLEGAL! According to the state of Connecticut (see below for the statute) this cannot be denied, thus his actions being illegal. I am pregnant and was absolutely craving the wrap so I called back saying to put through my order and that I'd pay in cash when I got there... his response "I don't have time for that give me the credit card number." I was furious and we both hung up, I couldn't imagine giving business to such a rude establishment. I understand they have taken over new management and I also understand how hard it is to staff and run a restaurant during these times BUT it's unfortunate seeing as it was such a friendly and welcoming environment for so long. I don't foresee any business running off of this poor customer service and Moreso attitude by management. I've loved this place for 20 years but I will NEVER order from them again. I ordered from The Lime via Yelp (fulfilled by Grubhub). I always get scared my order won't be fulfilled through these phone apps. A few minutes after ordering, I called The Lime and asked when I could expect my order. I told them I ordered through Yelp. They said they don't use Yelp. Then, I corrected myself and said through Grubhub. They said they got my order (*phew*) and it was ready for pickup. I got two salads, because I needed some 'clean' food. The total was about $31 for a Cobb salad and the Malibu chicken. The Cobb wasn't really a true Cobb, no bacon, no egg. It had avocado, lettuce, plenty of chicken and blue cheese. It also came with a couple hearty slices of this mealy, grainy bread; perfect for cleaning up the dressing off the plate. It was a nice salad, despite the not-quite-Cobb title. There were some leftovers, which was a plus. The ingredients were flavorful and fresh. For a takeout order, it was all I could have hoped for. I love a restaurant that annually wins "Best Vegetarian" has one of the best hamburgers in Fairfiled County. Yup and the hamburger is made of beef. The menu describes this as "California Burger - a big juicy burger with cheddar cheese, ripe avocado, and salsa-mayo dressing." What it does not state is that they serve it in a roll up with a nice side dish. It was so good I included it on my list of Recommended Burgers of Fairfield County. My other recommendation is the "Blackened Chicken Pita - grilled marinated chicken breasts with spicy Cajun seasonings, salsa, mayonnaise, and garden greens." This also brings a smile to this omnivore's face in a vegetarian restaurant. The chicken is not that spicy and the salsa mayo give the sandwich a nice smooth texture. I also recommend whatever iced tea they make that day. Incredibly refreshing. The Lime is a grat alternative to the normal sandwich at lunch and many have told me their dinners are also a great deal. read more

I took my 89 yr old mother to lunch there today. A Wednesday at 12:15. We were the second table to arrive. 1 waiter only and he seemed preoccupied pulling pickup orders together. We didn't get menus or order a drink until 15 mins after arriving. He was running back and forth to the other table of two. My mom ordered hot tea and i hot water. We ordered the cheese quesadilla appetizer, a lentil soup and a tofu wrap. I asked him to just bring it all together. My soup arrived (stale chips) as did my mom's quesadilla (without sour cream). We finished our dishes before he brought the tea and hot water. Mom wanted milk with tea - he'd disappeared so fast I got up to ask at kitchen door for some. He saw me and got milk in pitcher & brought it to the table. My wrap finally came and we wanted to order dessert then because of the time. Couldn't, he was gone. So I just got up to stand at door to kitchen to pay. A woman was standing there to get her to go order. Another (table number4 in there) solo woman had her hand up saying her soup arrived cold. I finally got to pay and escape. We went to Dolce for dessert. Not the same place it was once. Sigh. Too bad. Don't bother. Oh! I hate to give this restaurant 2 stars. But... I've eaten here in the past and was underwhelmed by the food. The seating arrangement is super uncomfortable and the bathrooms are TINY. The space is not really meant for a full dining experience -- more of an order out type of place. Most recently, I ordered out for lunch wanting to give the food a second shot. When I called to place the order, I confirmed everything that was going to be on my wrap -- no mention of any of my allergens. I'm sure you can guess what happened next. Yep. I brought my food back to the office for lunch and it was covered in said allergen. Part of me wants to give this place another shot because of all the great things I hear about it, but the other half of me is saying "it's not all that." Tip: Order out (cheap lunch menu!) and make sure you don't have any food allergies. read more

Cobb Salad is out of this world. So filling and so flavorful, I love it so much! This restaurant is a staple in Norwalk.

My girlfriend and I love this place! its a very small restaurant that is rarely packed so you can enjoy the space and some good conversation. They have a variety of appetizers and entrees to choose from. They range from vegetarian or vegan to pescatarian or your more classic meat lover options. The staff is always friendly and attentive and they are always willing to help you decide what you might enjoy on the menu. Last time the waitress handed us a card and reminded us they offer Uber Eats. Lastly lets not forget the bread. They make the bread in house and it is to die for. I am not kidding. We usually buy an extra loaf to go and enjoy it at home. read more

The Lime might be the only restaurant where I want to try something new every single time. Everything on the menu looks amazing. The tofu burger salad is so flavorful. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but the salad is just that good that I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I'm obsessed with the creamy house dressing so I usually swap the tahini for it. Other favorites are the veggie burger on a pita, chicken salad, falafel salad, tuna salad pita & blackened chicken rollup. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the take out ordering app. Many items are listed on the menu as including avocado and cheese, but you need to specifically request these in the order notes or it won't come with it. Heard from friends this was a good place so was excited to try it! I took some friends to try it with me, unfortunately. I will never ever go back. During our drinks, a tasteless watery Sauvignon Blanc that we should have sent back, a COCKROACH crawled down the wall towards the table. With little on the table to kill it, my friend squished it on the wall with the closest thing handy, a slice of bread. It fell somewhere under the table, at which time the waitress showed up to see what the commotion was. We explained about the cockroach and, instead of apologizing, she "shhh'd" us! I have been going to this restaurant 3 or 4 times a year for 15 years. In the last 3 years, I've had chicken that was tough/overcooked/dry. Last night was one of those nights -- chicken and shrimp, both dry and overcooked (or maybe reheated from lunchtime). I told the waitress about it. I hadn't touched more than 2 fork fulls of the chicken. The owner (and chef) was sitting right behind me and saw the chicken. The waitress said "Oh, I'm sorry." The owner never re-cooked another entree for me, nor did the waitress take that or even a glass of wine off our bill. While others are very happy with the food, that's it for me. Three strikes and nothing done by the owner all three times and you're out. There are too many other good restaurants in Norwalk to go to instead. read more

The Lime is a great restaurant with Latin cuisine. The food is actually very comparable to its neighboring competitor, Valencia Luncheria however the prices are a bit higher, especially for dinner. Nonetheless, the food is very fresh and of good quality. My favorite is probably their Gazpacho which was very flavorful and refreshing. And a trip to The Lime is not complete without their delicious key lime pie accompanied by whip cream. read more

Tasty and inventive dishes that are the perfect portion size. I absolutely LOVE Mediterranean food.. i'm all about it. Their falafel roll-up/... A spicy middle eastern chickpea burger with onions, tahini dressing and garden greens. Served with an organic brown rice salad. Vegetarian. Vegan. So unbelievably great! Their hummus platter is a great starter dish for the table, and the herbal iced teas are quite divine. I look forward to trying more innovative food from that location. Service is great as well.. -1 star for the parking situation and the inside being crammed so that when you're most likely sitting by the door, the cold hits you every time someone walks in or out. read more

I LOVE BREAD! We all love bread! *insert Oprah Meme* seriously their bread is magnificent! It is hearty, earthy and full of flavor. Do no skip the BREAD! Their creamy house salad dressing is also divine. It's a beautiful mild garlic dressing. Totally delicious! After the house salad and bread I was totally satisfied! But I still had the chicken and shrimp dijonnaise. It was delicious and the potion was generous (I took most of it with me for latter).
