It was my first time, and I absolutely loved the food here! Everything was fresh and delicious. The place is kind of small for a Texas girl ^_~ but it's cozy. I had the crab cakes and if you get the salad, you've gotta try the house dressing. It's ammmaaazing. The portions are pretty large for the price. Our waiter was really nice and gave suggestions. I am definitely going to come back whenever I visit! I guess my main question is.... why is it called the Lime Restaurant when everything inside is watermelon??? The lime is a classic Norwalk restaurant. The food is fresh and you usually can't go wrong with anything you order. I do believe the food is a tad bit overpriced, and I really do not like the brown rice side they give you with most orders. As another reviewer put it, it is "bland and forgettable." I did have an annoying experience once when trying to order takeout via phone. The person taking my order was rushing me and had no problem letting me know that she was very busy. I get it, but it was kind of rude and off-putting, especially since I wasn't taking that long. No one wants to feel like they're being a burden when they're giving a place their business. It's a very small spot, almost cramped but I will say the parking situation isn't too bad. A positive about this place is it is relatively healthy, depending on what you order. All right, I admit that growing up we used to call this place "The Slime." Thing is, it's anything but. In fact, it's pretty awesome. Lovely, casual dining in a teeny tiny room looking out onto scenic Main Street. It's staffed by pleasant servers and has very tasty food. I love their salads, especially the tuna. Zucchini loaf is a house specialty. Wraps are good, and their cole slaw is quite tasty (and I don't love cole slaw). Do get the iced tea. Very large portions. Snare parking on Main, and try not to get hit crossing the street to get to the restaurant. Honestly, I've been here for dinner but it's a lunch place at heart. Soup, salad, and sandwiches are their specialties. Portions are so generous and prices are reasonable for lunch, and I feel like the style and setting are more suited for a daytime, rather than an evening affair. What a great place! Came for lunch and had the falafel wrap - so delicious! Crisp without being greasy. DJ had the veggie burger wrap - took a bite of that and loved it. Probably one of the best veggie burgers I've tasted. They've got lots of non veggie stuff too. DEFINITELY coming back! read more

Great food - terrible uber eats etiquette. Never marked, never compliant with notes for orders. Being that they're not giving anything away (relatively expensive) they should take the time to read the notes and earn the prices they're charging. Example I find avocado repulsive, and noted "PLEASE, NO avocado" only to receive my food packed with avocado. The lime....please make these adjustments. I want to continue to eat your food, but it drives me insane that you guys can't take care of the tiny but hugely important details. read more

The food at this place is great, the undefinable homemade taste is definitely present. I like their frequent fish (blackened salmon highly recommended) specials, but the veggie sides, rice, salads AND WOW THAT BREAD are all amazing. Small, cozy, not cheap but not pricey, think dinner for two for $50 w/o booze. Locally grown fresh ingredients, good staff and perfect portion sizes where you feel full but not ready for a nap after eating. Might be a wait if you show up at say 8pm on a Friday, but you can call ahead an hour or so before you get there to reserve a seat. read more

I had not been here in a long time. The quality of the food has declined considerably. The hummus platter had pitas that's were microwaved vs heated with an oven or grill which resulted in gummy pitas. The entrees were ok but the rice was flavorless and the the veggies covered in lots of butter. The place was virtually empty and the old days on a Friday night at 7 pm there was a wait list. Wonderful. Fresh. Tasty. Did I day fresh? A very casual atmosphere with a very friendly, country-style demeanor. The wait staff is attentive and kind - not to mention extremely busy! You can tell this spot is a favorite to many. Our meal started with freshly made warm bread (baked on the premise) and was awesome. You can't imagine how many places give you crappy bread....anyway. We shared two well proportioned crab cakes (per Yelp reviewers' recommendations) and we were not disappointed - delicious. For entrees, I had the salmon with Chipotle Lime Glaze (yum) and my wife had a small humus plate and the Malibu Chicken Salad (with Shrimp substituted for the chicken - which they were more than happy to allow). A home run on all accounts. I can't tell you how satisfied I was with the overall meal and service! I have always had a great dining experience at The Lime. Yes, the place is small, but it is cozy without being too crowded, even with a full room. Yes, the lunches are cheaper than the dinners, but what do you expect? The chefs are making everything fresh and made to order!! The Lentil soup is out-of-this-world and is a meal almost by itself. The salmon burger roll-up is fresh. The Vegetable Phyllo I almost didn't want to share with my dining partners, it was so good I wanted to order another to have the next day.They serve many meat and fish meals which are equally divine. I sat outside and the tables are kindof on a slant but not a huge deal. The food was phenomenal, It's definitely going to be my go-to for a delish vegan dish. I had a Carrot-soy loaf which was amazing, I'm definitely going back for that, and my girlfriend had a shrimp with mango/peach salsa which she loved as well and they have a few organic beers and wines, that we tried and really enjoyed. I love the LIME!! It's been around forever, which tells you something. I recently had lunch there after not visiting in a very long time (for some reason I never think of it when I'm brainstorming for a place to dine...plus, it's tiny and can be very crowded), and it was just as delish as I remembered! My favorites are the California Burger Roll-Up, the Blackened Chicken Malibu Salad, and the Veggie Burger (on a roll-up instead of a pita) w/Avocado + Cheese. This restaurant is totally packed during lunch time since it's quite small, the room can accommodate no more than 20 people at full capacity. Though thankfully there are plenty of parking in the back lot. The food is mainly vegetarian, organic and great tasting, with some dishes that can come with either chicken breast or burger alternatives. I went there for lunch w/ coworkers today. -- atmosphere: hole in the wall type -- service: attentive given that there's only 6-7 tables. food is prepared fresh in the back so it took a while -- pricing: a little high for a burger lunch, but then again, this is CT. -- food: between the 5 of us, we had CA burger, chicken salad, Malibu chicken on pita/salad.... This place does not have a big menu and a lot of variety, but for what they serve, they do a good job. I thoroughly enjoyed my CA burger on Pita, liking the Malibu chicken on Pita/salad the best.. I used to LOVE The Lime but I won't be dining here again. I completely understand we are dealing with a pandemic and quality probably isn't the same as it normally would be but what I received tonight was disgusting and not acceptable (see pics). The black Bean Chili is usually thick and delicious with cheese on top and I got thin soup with a few beans in it. The "tortilla chips" I received were not tortilla chips, in fact I don't even know what they were. As you can see they were also black and over cooked and just gross. I even called the restaurant just to tell the manager so he could speak to the chef but he completely blew me off, was rude and wasn't listening to a word I was saying. I don't think the typical manager or chef was on staff and if they decide to bring back their old staff I will be back but until then, find another place to dine. Simply delicious!! Wasn't sure where to go. I was looking for a place where I could enjoy a good salad. Well good is an understatement. Contrary to the many positive reviews, I was not impressed by this restaurant at all. Normally the hole in the wall places in this Norwalk area are great, like Valencia and that small bakery shop nearby. I was excited to try Lime because of this and the great reviews. As soon as you enter, there is no room to sit or stand, the tables are so claustrophobic and close together you can hardly move. We waited to get a table standing in this uncomfortable cramped position for almost 20mins not because the tables were unavailable but because it was completely understaffed with one sweet waitress doing everything - waiting tables, cleaning tables, taking phone calls and serving as host. I felt very bad because she was very overworked and they definitely needed more staff. Moving on to the actual food - for the starter I ordered a black bean soup with melted cheese which was decent. However my main entree was the biggest disappointment. I ordered a hummus wrap which came with avocado in it. I'm a huge hummus fan so it is very hard to disappoint me if there's any type of hummus in my food. However, this hummus had a very peculiar after-taste, I'm not sure if it was stale or if that's the way it taste but it was awful. This was probably the worst wrap I've ever had in CT. I made my husband try it to see if it was just me but he also agreed it tasted very strange. All in all this restaurant was definitely not worth the hype as both the food and ambiance wasn't great. read more

Really good food. Great homemade type cooking, which is tough with a menu as diverse as The Lime. Nice warm bread, delicious salads and excellent soups start your meal. I usually stop in here with my mom after a day of shopping and grab a sandwich. Helpful hint: You CAN park in the Artist's Market across the street to eat at The Lime. Yelp wins yet again! Lime is such a quaint little place with amazing food! We ordered the tofu croquette, zucchini loaf and the veggei phyllo. The tofu was the best i have had in a while, served on a bed of delicious thai salsa. The zucchini loaf was soft and tasty. The veggie phyllo lacked a tad bit of salt but that i guess is a matter of taste. The entrees came with salads and tahini dressing. Our hostess Lisa was very sweet and had suggested the dishes we ordered. Definitely coming back here sometime! read more

I went here one year for my birthday. I wanted to try something new and I heard/read a lot about this restaurant. I was not disappointed. I had a group of 10 - 12 people that came to dinner. Everyone loved their food. I would have given it 5 stars, but one of my friends ended up getting sick afterward. Bizarre - she was the only one, but maybe her body is sensitive. The Lime has delicious healthy food. First off their homemade bread is amazing. Entrees I always go with seafood the wasabi-dijon sauce is fabulous no matter which seafood you choose. Blackened Salmon is good. Last time I had the mixed grill sweetfire and that was amazing as well. The salads before are a waste and it is tight to sit so that makes it awkward.
