I was driving with a friend from PA to NH and happened to pull off in Connecticut for a quick bite and was fortunate enough to stumble upon this culinary gem. Seriously, the food was outstanding and the herbal iced tea absolutely rocked my world. Don't let the small size of the dining room dissuade you from trying this place out. My mom has been coming here since they first opened, and I have loved this place forever. However, I am BEYOND upset with their approach to maintaining a healthy environment during our current global pandemic. I have known many people who have passed from this virus, therefore I am someone who takes this virus seriously. I went to pick up food today and was surprised to see that the ENTIRE kitchen staff NOT wearing a mask, as well as using their bare hands touching the food. When I asked the waitress about this, she mentioned that it was "too hot" to wear masks. I am under the impression that the law now is that all restaurant staff need to be wearing masks, especially those who are COOKING YOUR MEAL. I will never return to the lime going forward, unfortunately I can no longer trust their cleanliness, if they are not wearing masks during a global pandemic I am left to question their cleanliness during "normal" times. read more

Oh, I love the Lime! Been going here for years, and I miss it dearly now that I'm all the way out here in SF. Lovely chicken wraps and tasty fresh-brewed herbal iced tea. Very affordable lunch prices and a friendly staff. If you're there for dinner, the black bean burritos are yum and the portions are pretty decent. I am so upset over this place. I have been here numerous times and had great meals! We went lst night (6:30pm). we were given a specials menu which had a swordfish in black bean sauce. The restaurant only had us (2), and another table, it was 6:30om and we were told they are out of the special. I would normally ask, how does that happen. But is was evident. The owner/chef Vinny was sitting at the table next to us texting on his phone. As a result, we didnt get food we wanted, the fish my wife ordered was basically bubblegum because it was so disgustingly overcooked, and we will never go back. I even asked if there was a change in ownership or management because I was so shocked at how horrible the place was. despite not eating a single thing (the slads, hummus, fish and sloppy veggie loaf) sit in my garbage can today, no ione bothered to ask how everything was. Maybe next time I should text the owner as obviously texts are more important then customers. There is a reason the restaurant next door was mobbed and this place was empty. read more

The first time we went to The Lime it was on the suggestion that it was a vegetarian/vegan friendly restaurant. We went for lunch & their falafel was amazing...moist, delicious! Sadly, their dinner menu is not as veg- friendly. Falafel is an appetizer special rather than entree--and this falafel is so good it deserves entree status. Instead veg eaters are left with tofu or bean burrtito options...or a soy carrot loaf...you have to really LOVE carrot to love this loaf b/c holy carrots. Other options all cater to meat eaters, which would be fine if their best veg product--the falafel--was an entree option. Overall dinner was a disappointment, down to their famous tahini salad dressing that made a sad salad taste like sawdust. This was our last visit. read more

The Lime is a great little place with fresh and healthy meals that just happens to be delicious. we've been several times and we were just there a few nights ago for a great dinner. It was busy but they were still very attentive - the waitstaff are very helpful and energetic. I'd prefer to go for lunch since it is less expensive, but it's worth the splurge for dinner. I've been here a few times and went again tonight. The previous times I have been, the food & service has been great. Tonight, I ordered ahead of time, went and picked up my food, came home and saw that they had given me two roll ups instead of the one roll up I had asked for. I had asked for the tofu burger salad so that was missing. I called and told them about the mess up but both women didn't seem apologetic over the phone. I went back to get my order correct. They did apologize but normally restaurants give you a free dessert or something free but they didn't. I was a little disappointed and the food wasn't even that great. read more

Just ate there for the first time. Had no idea it has been a staple for so many years. The food was absolutely excellent. The service was fast an attentive. A very small, cozy restaurant. Heard good things about the creamy house dressing, but I didn't like it... it's almost similar to a honey mustard (very creamy yellow). The fresh whole grain bread was delicious. I ordered the Mixed Grill Sweetfire and I don't know if they got my order mixed up, but the creamy sauce that the meat was covered in tasted like very strong wasabi... unless that is what honey salsa mustard is supposed to taste like. I was literally tearing up/crying while I was eating because the sauce was so strong. If I wanted that, I would have just eaten spoonfuls of wasabi. read more

The Lime was always one our favorite restaurants. We used to go there with our kids as they were growing up. For some reason we had not been there in a few years. Our kids are all out of the house now, for the moment, and we have been having a date night on Friday trying to find new gems in our area. Most have been disappointing. This week we decided to go to the Lime and our search is over. The food is wonderful. The service is incredible. Our waitress remembered us. If you are in the area you should definitely try their crab cakes or the vegetable phylo. Organic and vegetarian food as well as various meats and grills. My only gripes with this establishment is the gross rug they have that makes the place smell musty and moldy, the restaurant as a whole had a very dingy and dated ambiance and decor. Ordered a steak, rare, it was delivered medium well. Sent back, and kitchen redelivered an uncooked steak - ICE COLD center. Received steak cooked correctly and waitress completely ignored our table for the entire evening and did not offer a refresh drinks. She deliberately walked by our table several times to service others. Rude, rude, rude. In addition, the place is terribly noisy even with only a few tables occupied. Sides were underwhelming as well. Wild and brown rice was extremely dry although vegetables served as a side were ok. It would be nice to have a choice of sides, but no options are provided. Would like to give this place zero stars and point out that the service was horrible and the menu lacking. Regrettably, I left a generous tip.
