I had one of the worst meals in recent memory here on Father's Day. Was a convenient location for all at the time, but won't make that mistake again. I had heard some poor reviews from people in the past, but chalked that up to individual opinion. There were some flies in the dining area; that was annoying. The waitress wasn't very attentive and it took quite a few minutes for her to come to our table and take the orders. I can say that all four of us were very disappointed, but I will only speak for my meal: The fresh roasted turkey platter. Came with stuffing, 2 sides (whipped potatoes and broccoli), soup (cream of French onion), salad and a very small plastic cup with cranberry sauce. The soup was not very good - very goopy and not hot, just barely warm. The salad was kinda funny - a little bit of lettuce sitting in some water on the plate, ONE grape tomato, one slice of cucumber and some red onion. It was ok for what it was, but funny to see the one lonely grape tomato. Potatoes were cold, as was the broccoli. Stuffing had some funky stuff in it, raisins being one of them. I don't know why people do that. The gravy was just plain bad. And the small portion of turkey was ok; it was just ruined by that gravy. horrible experience. we went on Mothers day and trust me expectations are low, but first they say 3 min wait, it was at least 15 to 20 mins. took a while just to get an order in. Took at least 30 mins just to get coffee. Food came out in shifts, some 10 mins late for some of the party (of 8). Food was missing left and right. Quality of the food was average at best, honestly I would say more on the tasteless side if I had to describe in one word. toast was not toasted, and food was bland. was there for 70 mins at table and never got a refill of coffee, even after we asked a few times. one person ordered a side of pancakes, they never came and when asked again and again they brought them after we said forget it and charged us anyway. When at checkout, they asked how it was and I said not good and they never asked what was wrong or what they could do to help. Major thumbs down and noticed this place gets bad reviews so I guess I should not have been surprised. Suggestion: 1. respond to my comment. 2. get better quality food. 3. get better servers 4. if you cant handle ala carte for Mothers day, offer two buffet options, a simple one and a more all inclusive. read more

The food is beyond the pale, it is flavorless and you can tell they microwave it as it comes out so hot you will burn your mouth.The prices they charge for a dinner is not worth the antacids you will need in about an hour of consumption. Diner was clean and seated immediately. Only place open at time I went out so I tried it. Noisy group of kids in back but service was still ok. Food served quickly and was edible but not the best I've ever had. To be expected at a diner I guess. We were there on a Sunday around 130pm. Obviously a change of shift. For we started with one waitress and got passed on to another. We waited almost 40 minutes for our food. While, if it was busy, I would understand. But we ordered salads. And a table of 4 were seated after us and served before us. Plus..we are vegan. So we didn't take the soup that was a combo with the greek salad. We ordered fries/homefries. But we were charged for them, and not compensated for no soup. Needless to say, the bill was way too much...for salads. And when we went to pay...we were not asked once how "everything was" guess they knew. The food was mediocre the service wasn't that great all of the food was bad except they had adequate soup. I would not recommend going there we waited for several hours before getting our food everything was Lukewarm. I've only been there once but it was bad. The Boston cream pie was bad it had this yellow glossy stuff for filling. My sisters brownie was hard dry and crunchy. The chicken gyro was terrible and tasted well not real. My fathers panini was horribly greasy. The chocalate chip pancakes my sister had didn't actually have chocalate. I had the hot chocalate which was awful the waitress spilled on me. at one time - long ago - this place ranked two stars, maybe three on a good day. If it were possible to give it a review with zero stars I would. We live close to the diner and we have taken to calling it "Where Tastebuds Go to Die" - it's that bad. We ate breakfast there recently and it was awful yet insanely expensive. I realize people in the Northeast have grown accustomed to over-paying for bad food and service but this place takes it to a new level. When they get busy they can not handle the pressure. Overpriced, think they are more than just a greasy spoon with a liquor license. Must improve attitude when taking orders over the phone. Went to Limerick diner on Sat morning 6/22 with my son seated right away the waitress took our order we waited 35-40 min to be served .Everything we ordered eggs pancakes omelet were cold pretty sure our waitress took a break did not see her anywhere. i do not mind spending 30 dollars for breakfast but should be at least warm when you get it. One word- AWFUL. Would have given it zero stars but the site won't let you do this and still write a review. New York prices for mediocre (at best) food. My GF ordered a burger done medium- came out well done- and should have had NHL branded on the patty. Fries were cold and the server acted like we were imposing on her when we asked for replacements. Prices are like "Crazy Eddies" -INSANE. Breakfast on their menu is, for the most part, ala-carte, so a simple short stack, ham, and home fries ends up running a whopping $12.50 not including coffee, tax, and tip. Wow! What happened to the Limerick diner? Prior to this year I had been coming here for almost 30 years and I have never had this kind of horrible experience. The food was terrible and the service was even worse not to mention it was way overpriced at $11 an omelette! We waited 20 minutes for the waiter to come over and take our order we waited another 20 minutes for our food and then when it came out it was wrong. When it finally came out it was so spicy we couldn't eat it and the home fries were mushy and bland. After being there an entire hour our waiter never came back to the table. When we complained that we could not eat our meal we were unbelievably met with a major attitude from the hostess. Needless to say we will not ever be going back here. We used to go to Limerick Diner in the past. Thought we would try it today. What a terrible mistake. There should be a "no stars" rating because that is what this place deserves. Table was all sticky. No baked potato on Sunday except after 5 PM. Wedding soup was lukewarm, VERY watery and nothing much in it except large chunks of celery, several minute pieces of spinach and 1/2 of a SMALL meatball. Dishwater would have tasted better. Salad was very small - only pieces of lettuce with one cherry tomato and one small onion ring with watered down blue cheese dressing. Roast turkey dry, tough and tasteless. Dressing was scooped out of pan and half of it was hard , burned and crusty. I get cole slaw every place I go - this also had no real taste and what was there was really not palatable. companion had Roast Va. Ham - a slice off of a ham roll!. Presentation was worst we ever saw. Made one lose their appetite just looking at it. Prices sky high!!! more than any other place around.. When we voiced our impression to female at cash register, she curled her lip, said , in essence " too bad", became arrogant and told us off. Said no one cares so don't bother to come back again. My wife and I have dined here frequently for well over 20 years. It has always been a pleasant experience to come here. But not recently, the hostesses are like robots without much personality and border on being unpleasant. The food is still excellent, however. But the service has gone from bad to awful in the last week. We always treat the server with respect and almost always tip more than 20% for just normal type service. I waited over 10 minutes for a refill on coffee and my wife never got her refill for which she asked. Then we waited well over 10 minutes for her at the end of the meal while she stood at a distance like she had nothing to do. She had 3 tables at that time. We decided not to get desert because we didn't want to be there another 30 minutes more. Also my wife told me the soap dispensers in the ladies were broken and the water hardly came out of the faucets. I hope the waitresses have another bathroom where they wash their hands. My wife and I dine out almost daily. Yesterday was the worst service I have had in 20 years. This was always one of my favorite 3 or 4 restaurants. I never thought I would ever say and/or write things like this about a restaurant that has been such a part of my life over the years. They should bring back some of the former waitresses that I don't see there anymore or get someone who knows how to hire good servers. The Limerick Diner has been around for a long time and it had a strong reputation for years before going downhill. Newer management (and I believe owners) took over a few years ago, and I was looking forward to it reaching its former glory. However, after several attempts, I have finally given up. What we found are that the changes only precipitated drastic increases in price, pissy service, and mediocre food. We used to stop as a family for breakfast after church on Sunday. I don't know if they check the competition, but if not, I'd love to know how they came up with the prices which are truly INSANE.. If you don't believe me, look it up on the internet. Blueberry pancakes $7.75? 2 eggs and scrapple $7.00? Kids food? My wife ordered a broccoli and cheese omelet and requested Swiss cheese. When we got the bill, we found the already $7.50 omelet was jacked up to $7.75. Not that a quarter is big deal, but we were told it was an "upcharge" for swiss not noted anywhere on the menu. For a family of 4 with drinks?? Forget it. There are several other places in the area I would recommend; the Sunshine Cafe, the Strawberry Restaurant, and if you want to spend that kind of money go to Shorty's Sunflower Cafe. This was my worst dining experience in my life by far. Nothing this bad even comes close to it. Maybe they should close this place as a restaurant and start over as some other business but anything but serving food to the public. There is so many bad things I have to say about this place that I don't even know where to start. LOL. Sad but true. I gave this place 1 star because that is the least it can get but it doesn't even deserve that. We came Friday @8 O'clock. We had to tell the greeter there was only two of us instead of him asking us how many like they normally do and he didn't even crack a smile and wasn't very friendly. Maybe that should been the first clue that things were just going to go downhill from here. We were seated at a booth. After that I left to go to the men's room. It was a very dirty place. There was liquid soap pools all over the top of the sink, paper towels on the floor, and the faucets looked unwashed and filthy. I was afraid to touch anything but had to so I could wash my hands. While I was leaving I felt like I should have used a paper towel to open the the two doors leading back to the dining area because of the germs all over this place. When I got back my friend said that the waitress was here and took his order (but not mine). I had to wait another 20 to 30 minutes before she even came back to take my order and I was starved to start with. She was nowhere to be seen. Maybe she was hiding in the back somewhere. I ordered a simple club sandwich(with mustard instead of mayo) and a glass of water. The water tasted gross like it was sitting around in an old container for a long time. It took more than 30 minutes for me to get my club sandwich and they made a mistake and put mayo on it. So when I got the sandwich she said she knew they made a mistake and would bring it back for one with mustard instead. Well believe it or not I had to wait another 30 minutes or so to get the correct sandwich I ordered and when I got it this time they didn't even put the mustard inside the sandwich. And before I go any further I want to mention that the french fries that came with this order were gross. There was some kind of greasy yellow crunchy coating on them and they were mushy inside. They brought me this plastic mustard bottle with a few drops of mustard in it that I had to use by manually squeezing it between the toast slices which was difficult because too much would come out all at once most of the time. So after a couple of squeezes the mustard was finished and I needed more mustard. I tried to get someone's attention that I needed more mustard by waving my hands to a number of staff members but everyone ignored me so I finally had to get up from the booth and go to the unfriendly greeter at the entrance and tell him I needed another bottle of mustard for my sandwich. He sad OK as he was seating some other people just arriving. It took him another fifteen minutes or so before he got around to telling a waitress to get me another bottle of mustard for my food and all this time keep in mind that I am starving and then it finally was given to me. My friend said that the mustard must be considered gold around this place. LOL. When me and my friend were finished eating there was no one around again to give us our bill so we could pay our bill and leave. The waitress must have been hiding again and taking a long nap. She finally arrived at our table but it seemed like it took her another 20 minutes or so to get there. By this time steam could probably be seen coming out of our ears but I tried to be polite and not say anything rude although I thought that we were treated rude by everyone in this place. Before I left the waitress claimed that another waitress told her that someone else also ordered a club sandwich with mustard in it other than myself helping to cause the mix up with the sandwich that had mayo in it meaning there was two customers including myself that ordered a club sandwich with mustard in it at the same time. She continued to say that in her 35 years as being a waitress she never had one customer that ordered mustard in a club sandwich let alone two at the same time. I didn't argue with her but I said there must be a million to one chance of that ever happening but I didn't believe her for a minute and thought that she must either have a bad habit of lying or she was just trying to cover her butt. And lastly I thought the prices were way too high especially for the mediocre food served here and all the extremely poor things about this place. This was by far MY WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone and that includes my worst enemies. Avoid the Limerick Diner as if your life depended on because it very well could. Eating at the Limerick Nuclear Plant during a meltdown might be safer than eating at this place. LOL. first off the only reason I didn't give one star is because the food wasn't bad. the service was awful. and the prices were high. my 15 year old got a ceaser salad and a piece of chicken parm for $30. went there with 4 kids and 4 adults after my 15 year old's soccer game for breakfast around 10:30. got seated quickly than it took 10 minutes to get menus. than another 10 minutes to meet our waiter. took another 15 minutes to get our drinks. (coffee, soda, milk, and water) and at this point we were finally able to place our order. waiter didn't know the menu whatsoever. (asked to see our menu). now another 25 minutes went by untill we started getting our food. (one after another, no time to eat soup/salad befor the next thing was brought out) and the whole time they took forever to refil my coffee. than on top of all of it the add %20 to our overpriced bill for gratuity for the terrible service to our party of 6 or more. will definitely try the cafe down the street when we go there for soccer next time. read more
