Just dropped in and grabbed a sandwich and soup a yesterday. I must say that it was very tasty, i had the Italian sandwich with hot peppers and the corn chowder. The italian sandwich was really nice with a good ratio of meat and bread, and the hot peppers were a great addition. They fresh bake their bread and it really shows as it was a nice flaky piece in every bite. So we usually get the Linden Store sandwiches for catered Lunch and Learns at work, and they never disappoint. Today, I thought I'd actually go to the Linden Store and try something new, on my own, and it was great! It's a fast moving line, and the menu is extensive, but everything is sliced to order and made fresh. I had the Hot Italian on a large sub roll, and the everything was great, from the meats, to the tomatoes, to the bread. At 7.95, it is definitely a deal. They also have breakfast foods, which I haven't tried, coolers stocked with beverages, and chips for your sandwich. I've had many sandwiches from here, and I've never had one I didn't like - that says a lot. Give this place a try if you are in the area, you won't regret it. I love The Linden Store. I work in the Linden Shopping Plaza and it's difficult (or impossible) to find good food in this area. I love their sandwiches, they have a ton of options which I really appreciate as I am a picky eater, and I have unique tastes. The people who work there are very nice, there is one guy who likes to say "no" to everything, but other than that everyone else is very accommodating. I only gave them 4 stars because they are only open until 4-5pm, so I always have to set reminders in my phone to order food before they close. Wish they were open until at least 6! It's okay though, the food is perfect so it's worth it. I like that it's a family owned business, and you definitely get a family-feel when you walk in. The first place I visited in Wellesley. I liked how friendly and busy the place was. I had the chicken salad sandwich and kept ordering it. Soups homemade and tasty, and strangely perhaps the best oreo milkshake I've had in a while--certainly better than J.P. Licks. This morning I had the ham/egg/cheese breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel with avocado, tomato, and onion. I live near the Linden store but I rarely go there because I don't eat deli food very often. So, no one knows me there (and they clearly know all their "regulars.") I was having my car serviced the other day and needed to have lunch nearby so I thought I'd give it a try again. The place is spectacular in its efficiency and cheerfulness. They really run an amazing operation. The soup was delicious and the 1/2 sandwich was fine. (I didn't bother to order one of "designer" sandwiches - I probably should have.) That said I do you want to share my experience on a personal level. When Mark delivered my sandwich, he put the plate down and said "Here you go young lady." Well, I'm 69 years old and he's probably in his 30s. I found that extremely patronizing and tone deaf. I am a professional woman (not that that matters) and he's the age of my kids. Not cool. I suggest simply: " enjoy your lunch." If my reaction is hard to comprehend (and I imagine it might be), please ask yourself if you would refer to an older male diner as "young man". First time here the other day and I loved it! Its a great place for a quick bit to eat. I got the Italian and the cold cuts and bread were so fresh! Also got a side of the potato salad - delicious! I don't even know where to start with this place. Because I went to college in the area, I ate these sandwiches regularly and I even saw the restaurant through its expansion. Not only is this family-owned restaurant a great place to have lunch, but they also cater to organizations that put in bigger orders! My soccer team would put in a Linden order for every away game...something I always looked forward to after playing!) My favorite go-to's are the Abbey Rose and the Avocado Special, both on ciabatta bread. You really cannot go wrong with any sandwich you choose though, and they also offer a variety of salads and soups. This is truly one of the best sandwich shops I've been to and if you are in Wellesley you can't miss it. They close pretty early though, so get in while you can! read more

All the subs and sandwiches here are great. My favorite is The Linden Special. Italian meats and pickled pepper. On Tuesdays they offer hot pastrami that is fresh and delicious. Stick with the on line order and avoid going into this store. There is no distancing occurring at the ordering counter- there must have been a dozen or so people in front of me either ordering or waiting for their order in a very small area . I did not feel comfortable approaching the counter with this many people, so had to yell my order through my mask from 6 feet away. I got dirty looks for that . My order was brought to the register and the cashier called me up when there was already someone still at the register. I waited for the register to be clear before going up and told the cashier it was a bad experience- yes the staff and customers are masked but there is no space from time taken to order, wait and pay for the food. It was impossible to distance . The manager followed me out of the store and asked me about my experience as he saw I was not happy. He assured me that the board of health has approved the covid measures this deli is taking especially as he has made efforts to "normalize." . I wonder if the Board saw this deli during peak hours and the crowding that takes place at and around the counter . The food here is good, so going forward I will order on line and use the car pick up . line. Suggest you do the same if you are trying to stay safe . Over-rated. Mediocre sandwiches. Rolls are super soft. Most sandwiches are barely stuffed, stingy with meat. Buffalo chicken sandwich = microwaved chicken tenders, stringy, with soggy bun. Italian sub = bland. Mozz basil tomato sandwich = flavorless tomato. I've tried it many times, but it's not anything special. I would try Corrados in Natick for something more authentic. read more

I've been hearing about the Linden Store for years living in Back Bay where dog park friends who lived in Wellesley and were now back in the city (kids left for college) raved about how amazing the food, service and ownership was. They even said they would still drive out there often simply because how much they missed it. Ironically I just purchased a home not even .5 miles away and went to the Linden Store for the first time. I couldn't be more impressed with the staff (owner specifically), the food and the overall atmosphere of this deli. I was welcomed to the neighborhood by the owners and was made a custom order - this is old school excellent customer service that not only keeps you coming back but makes you feel welcome and comfortable in the neighborhood. It also doesn't hurt that I can walk here anytime I want a phenomenal meal. The Linden Store deserves 10 stars. It's no wonder they've been successful for so long. Highly recommend. Hi everyone it's been a while since my last post , after a very long time of procrastinating I decided to stop in today and try out this staple in the quiet little community of Wellesley Ma . I am a very old school chef and former deli owner among other food types of establishments so to say I have very good understanding of operations and food quality would be a understatement. At first glance the store is very clean and very well staffed almost to many people behind the counter but it's not my pay roll so why complain, but with that much staff it seems to me that all the MEAT and Cheese should be kept under proper refrigerated temps and places back into temp after use which is clearly not what is happening here .. and as I sit on the throne in my bathroom I can tell you that the gurgling in my stomach was caused to the fact that the meats are not stored in proper temps and then sliced to order to make sandwiches.. it's common for under staffed establishments and even then it's not a good way to handle food .. it's a real shame because the product the use is top notch, the bread fresh and the reputation is great but on this occasion it's a real disappointment.. All I can say is get the meats back into the deli case after each use or by some sandwich units and pre-cut the product like many even jersey mikes doesn't have product out in plain view for patrons to see and it's just poor food practices , board of health must be regular customers as this would never be allowed anywhere in the modern food industry.. The Linden Store makes good but not draw-dropping good sandwiches. I think the bread, which is soft and not very flavorful, could bear improvement which would lift the whole sandwich up. I like their Abby Rose, which is basically a caprese + chicken. The Turkey Club I am less impressed with, as I couldn't taste the bacon, the few strands of which sat limply at the bottom. A Wellesley favorite, so be prepared for a crowd & ensuing parking difficulties at lunchtime. read more

This is one of my most favorite sandwich shops ever! I always get the Ryan on a baguette it's so delicious. I love how friendly the staff is. I went back there after about a year of being out of state and they remembered me! Incredibly welcoming and easy going atmosphere despite the typical crowds and busy lunch times. My only issue is that the sandwiches are pretty expensive. I think the Ryan is about $9 which is a bit steep for a lunch sandwich. I still go there as a special treat when I really want a good quality bite to eat. Great food great service. read more

Wow, if I could eat lunch here every day I would. Sandwiches are amazing; my SO and I have had several, such as the Thanksgiving (multiple times), Greg'as Arugula Special, liverwurst, and the Isabella. We've also had milkshakes (not fantastic but decent), chicken soup (good), various salads from the fridge (good), and cookies/brownies (very good). The line will almost always look painfully long; do NOT let this dissuade you: the sandwich-makers work extremely quickly (and yet get your order correct) and therefore the line moves quickly. read more

I work near the Linden and love coming here for a solid sandwich (with leftovers for dinner). My favorites are the grilled chicken wrap, the thanksgiving (on a wrap), and the Kaitlyn. Some pro advice that a colleague was nice enough to tell me before my first time here: look at the menu before hand. Decide what you want before you even get there. Because if you're still deciding when it's your turn to order, they'll skip over you. That's how they keep the line moving quickly. And it does move quickly!
