This place is definitely worth going at least once, even as a local! We had more fun than we expected. The customer service I experience from registering and setting our visit up over the phone was excellent. Registered for Kama'aina and was given the Memorial Day Buy 2 explorer passes get 1 free! Even more so worth the trip. My only gripe is the surfing experience is EXPENSIVE. As much as I would love for my family and I to get on there. It's just such a rip off for our entire family to take part. They have a good variety of food and drinks offered - way better than the water park. Prices are also reasonable - as expected but not outrageous. The bathrooms are nice and clean. They offer locker rental for $10 with a $5 refund upon returning of the keys. They also have a more "luxury" locker room experience for $20. But you don't need it; they offer showers and changing tents outside, on the side of the coffee bar. Good idea to go before they open the course at 10am so you can check in and snag a good seating area for your group. Our items and wagon were safe even when we were all in he water. The only thing for us is the water...as locals we are not a fan of the fresh water experience. I haven't stopped thinking about how it's treated if so...And my son didn't care much about it while we were there, but once we left he said he didn't wanna go back or have his party there anymore because he thinks the water is dirty. There is fish in there, from small ones too you can see; to some bigger ones out when you do some exploring. read more

Event staff, catering, and the activity sales team do not communicate to each other at all. Booking for our private event has been an absolute nightmare due to the disorganization. I can't believe this is the first time I've come here. I had no idea. It offered more than the surf wave machine. I will be coming back with my whole family. They offer the Water jungle Jam $60 per person for the whole day. They have different times per week so check on that before you come. They have a couple different restaurants and bars that you can sit at and watch your kids if you're not joining in. You can pay for lounge chairs and cabanas. This one is a tough one since i was happy with some parts of our experience here. The pros first, service was friendly and took our orders promptly. Liked sitting outside to enjoy evening air and watch the surfer new and experienced. My disappointment is with the food. We ordered a pupu chicken dish which we have had in the past and liked. It was not the same. The sauces were missing and it was cold. My fish tacos were bone cold. I realize we were seated outside, however this not an excuse for having all our food cold. The cost of the things and the idea of not being able to bring in food or drinks (even non alcoholic beverages) seems a bit extreme. Yet what RESLLY GETS ME is... although we may have gotten FREE event tickets... PARKING IS STILL JUST AS MUCH. It's $20 at the time of the event. NOW they DO HAVE. Pre-sale parking and there are VIP PARKING & GENERAL available. BUT, it's all a FCFS. So most times when I go online to buy, I missed the VIP. They don't take the cash, you MUST PURCHASE ONLINE before arriving! Either way, you pay for the parking or you don't go! The place itself is nice! Maybe a bday party or private event would be nice to have here. It seems more open than wet n wild. Seems fun and yet FUNNY. Anywho, it's each to their own preference here! Ewa beach farm fair hosted at wai kai Was a complete disappoint! Paid for parking online upon arrival I found out my $15 parking was far away not friendly to elderly that I was transporting to the event and if I wanted to park closer they had parking available it would be $25 additional there were no carnival rides, no farm foods to purchase, food was limited and not healthy... water was not allowed in the event which people with medical needs should be allowed to have water, no entertainment that was listed was playing on stage at opening time. I love the lineup! My family and I usually go almost every Thursday when they have the farmers market. You can order food from the lookout restaurant above the wave deck and the wave deck bar is fully stocked. They allow you to bring the food from the farmers market into the lineup wave deck area and we usually order drinks there and enjoy watching the surfers. Good vibes with food, drinks, music and Surfing. Every Thursday they put on a surf show with local talent showing off some crazy tricks. It is very entertaining. There is usually a guy on the mic who does a good job hyping up the crowd and surfers. He will say what each surf maneuver is called, which I really appreciate. I have been surfing in the ocean for many years and considered myself intermediate level. But, surfing the wave pool did take awhile to get use to. I suggest starting off booking a few sessions on the smaller section of the wave pool and then move up to the bigger section once you feel more confident. The entire staff are so friendly and helpful. The gave me pointers and hyped me up even though I felt like I wasn't doing that good on the wave. They make you feel very comfortable and the whole experience is good vibes. read more

Wai Kai has a lot of fun activities! That is undeniable! BUT PLEASE READ!!! If you sign up for Surf sessions and a class.. You can be canceled right there on the spot.. or they can call you the night before and say its canceled if they dont have a minimum of 4 ppl per class. There are no consequences on their end if they cancel you within 24 hrs. But they can charge you the full amount if you cancel within 24 hrs on your end. Its best to call in the late afternoon the day before or the day of and see how much ppl are signed up at the time because that sucks to make plans and have your class canceled. read more

The LineUp at Wai Kai is so much fun for the entire family. I haven't laughed this hard in a very long time. The obstacles are so much fun and it's almost impossible to stay dry. You can climb ropes, swing from monkey bars, go down slides and jump off high peaks. Everyone gets a life vest too so you don't have to be an excellent swimmer if that makes you nervous. There's also a nice little beachy area with lounge chairs if you'd rather stay dry and get some sun, or shade. There is a cute little food and drink area as well as showers, changing rooms and lockers for additional things. read more

We went to the AquaAdventure. At first I was hesitant at the cost. We are kama'aina and went for the 1:30-4:30 time slot. It was definitely worth the admission. My son ran me ragged for three hours. It felt like I was at an evil chiropractor and physiotherapist combined. We had a phenomenal time. We went on an overcast and slightly windy day which was perfect for me. On sunnier days you definitely need to come prepared for sun. There were maybe 3-5 dozen people on the equipment and it did not feel crowded and there were plenty of places to lounge if needed. The standing wave area looked great but we did not try it. You can rent cabanas and take out paddle boards, kayaks, and nene paddle boats when the wind is not too high. We had fun. My family and I went there for my son's 8th birthday this past weekend and we had a blast! We rented an aqua cabana which I highly recommend and my son and I spent the whole day on the Aquaadventure course. I have a 4 year old as well, so he and my wife had fun on the Keiki course. The food was pretty good and coffee bar had a lot of different options. The only thing that I would suggest is adding a cabana host or server to the cabanas. We probably would have ordered a lot more food and drinks throughout the day. The staff was friendly and very helpful explaining where to go and how everything worked to help us set up our fun day. Yes you see it Trey Songz performed on 12-29-2023. Great concert and line up. The concert was 6:30pm to 11pm. We decided to go get food before the concert and take pics. They had a beautiful Christmas photo setup. I took pic there and then headed to the wave bar for food. The line was short and prices were reasonable. After your food and drinks are order they give you given a buzzer. You find a table and they bring your order to you. The food was hot and delicious. Especially the chicken omg. I couldn't stop eating the chicken. The drink was good as well not overpowering and not watered down either. The weather was perfect and the scenery amazing. They have the concert area on the lawn, two restaurants, the surfing wave pool and paddle boarding. It offers glow in the dark paddle boarding as well as paddle boating to cabanas. The concert area has drink as well. So you didn't have to go back to get drinks at the restaurant. They have their own parking lot and additional paid parking area. If you get there early don't pay for parking or at least wait until you get there to pay. I paid in advance a for parking and the paid parking wasn't open yet. I ended up parking in normal parking lot and lost my $25 parking I paid in advance for. I'm not sure if they normally have DUI check in the neighborhood leaving but after the concert they did. So drive sober if going to concert there or Uber. If you are GA for concert you can bring blankets to hang out on the lawn. Overall I loved it and will be returning! read more

The wave is lots of fun, but there's a small group of uncles who "own" the place. They seem to surf for free and take up wave time from legitimate paying customers. Some uncles are very cool, but others definitely are a turnoff to customers. The surf workers are mostly super friendly (except for a few bad apples), but the wave is their own personal playground 25% of the time. I don't understand why customers pay $75 for a 45min session and then have to exit the water to watch the surf workers play for 15mins between each session every hour. It would be great for customers to surf the entire hour for $75. The workers should not be entitled to "play" on the job at the expense of the customers. Overall, the local "uncles" who hog the wave time for free and the workers who are play 15mins every hour is not good for business. read more

Had a blast, went for my 33rd bday, did the 10-1pm option which was great because we were going to get some drinks and food in between the obstacle course and then stay afterwards to have a few more drinks, however, no one mentioned to us that the bar and restaurant would not be opened for the day when we were checking in and there were signs EVERYWHERE saying no out side food or drinks allowed which is totally fine if the bar was actually open. After asking oh what will be open they proceeded to say "the wave pool bar will open this afternoon" we asked what time they responded usually 12 but sometimes it's later we don't really know, sometimes they open at 12 and sometimes they open at 1. And we're like how do you not know what time it's going to open you all work for the same company and I would assume there would be set times things open as that's how things usually work. When asked why isn't anything opened today they responded "it's not busy enough to have the bar and restaurant open" which okay I get it it's the end of the summer and it's not as crowded but either 1. Mention up from that hey xyz won't be open today OR 2. Just open the bar area anyways at least with easy things to make like fries or chips and dip OR 3. allow outside food and drinks in if you're not going to open anything up. Honestly, it was kind of disappointing knowing that the wave pool bar opened at 12, we only had an hr left of our time and we didn't want to spend that eating and drinking when we could've grabbed a small bite to eat at 1030 or 11. So we all left starving because we weren't going to just wait after out time was up for food to finally come out so we left and took our money elsewhere for food and drinks which we would have gladly spent at wai kai should there have been some communication from the beginning read more

The equipment is ill equipped with proper support handle bars to pull yourself on to the equipment at the entry points to get out of the water. The equipment doesn't look well maintained as it is mossy and deflated in some sections and bird poop. The water is still and doesn't look like it's cleaned or filtered and gives off this gross smell. If you're not physically in shape this is not a place for you. Lots of balance is needed. The equipment is slippery and falling is inevitable. The check-in is confusing, there aren't any signs and purchasing passes and filing waivers is done in a different section from check in counters. They are limited on lockers. The staff were really good and welcoming but I wouldn't advise this place for the amount of money it costs. read more

Went to the Wai Kai show on Monday and watched the Watermans Journey Polynesian show. It was fantastic. The dancing, the music, the fire knife dancing, the surfing and choreography was amazing. We were on Oahu for Thanksgiving visiting friends and decided to make a trip to the lineup surf pool. Neither of us had ever been to a place like this before so we wanted to check it out. It's a whole complex with several restaurants retail and of course the wave pool. We ordered a couple of Mai Tais which were amazing, Barrett the bartender made these perfectly layered drinks with a Nice layer of dark rum to top it off. It was pretty entertaining to hang out for a little while and watch the surfers do their thing in the pool. This place is awesome!! The brand new spot in Ewa has gorgeous modern decor and tons of free parking. There's floaties with water activities you can use when you rent the floaties. Theses of course the huge wave pool and two restaurants. I had a quick lunch at the look out and I can't wait to go back to try more. I had the pupu steak with chimichuri sauce and I'll just say YUM! I also had the Kalua pig nachos and the do not skimp on the toppings. It was like a mountain of food. I glanced over at the menu and peeped at all the food being delivered to other tables lol and the prices are totally worth the portion sizes. Clean, fun, exciting! We had a blast!! We were a party of 5-grandparents, parents and granddaughter. We weren't sure that we could handle the aqua venture, but we did!! Laughed so hard and stayed out longer than expected. We stayed from 10-4pm and were exhausted when we left. Had a wonderful lunch at the LookOut. Juicy burgers, the Wai Kai burger was phenomenal!! Mochiko Chicken was moist AND crunchy! Cocktails were kicking!!!! Our server was excellent. He memorized our entire order which included various cocktails. We waited to see if he was going to get our order right and he did. The bathrooms were cleaned frequently. All the staff was friendly, informative, gracious, and most of all-welcoming. It was crowded on a Saturday at lunch time. We did the Play your Way for one hour. The young boy who helped us get our tickets upstairs was rude. I asked if I have to pay for a locker, he said yes, and I said ok I'll get one. So he made us pay and then do the waiver. So we did and I said where's the locker key? He insisted I didn't get one. So I asked for the receipt to verify, he had to print one up for me. So it wasn't on and I paid for it. This kid in particular doesn't seem like he wants to be here, didn't smile at all. Then when we went to check in they said the duck boats weren't available because of the weather but it was pretty sunny with a breeze. The only thing we could go on with our 6 yr old twins were the double kayak. The first 10 minutes there was nothing available and our time was ticking. We got onto one and paddled out to the floating cabana which was cool. We stayed out there for the rest of the hour, swimming and enjoying the view. Overall I wouldn't pay full price for the Play Your Way. Maybe next time do the Aloha Course when our kids are 7, that looks fun for an hour or so but can't use the cabana. read more
