Cute little dessert shop, perfect for a hot summer day. Everything was delicious and the tea tastes were strong - just how I like it!
I haven't had kakigori that often but this definitely hit the spot on a hot and summer day in new york! The place is quite small but there are some tables for dine-in! Our table got the strawberry and mango kakigori. The mangos were really fresh and the strawberry was tasty with the cream on top. You can't go wrong with shaved ice with sweet fruit! Highly recommend if you are in the area. 4/5
Came here for an evening dessert- wanted to try their kakigori. We chose a small strawberry and small mango. The space is small and modern - good for groups up to 4 people. They showcase artwork from local AAPI artists that you can purchase. Both kakigori were delicious, but I preferred the strawberry one more than the mango one. It takes a bit of time to get the kakigori, but staff is friendly.

My mom got a matcha latte, and my sister got the matcha banana pudding, she claims it was super dank but alas, I do not eat dairy so I could not try it. They also have a huge shaved ice dessert that looks great to share as a group.
Got the hojicha kakigori and really enjoyed it. The flavor was strong, the ice was well covered, and the cream on top and in the middle added a nice texture. The ice itself was unique compared to your typical shaved ice, less like little flakes and more like longer shavings (which was nice!). As with most kakigori, it's on the pricier side, but felt in line with what you'd expect. The small size was just right for one person. The space is very small with limited seating, so just keep that in mind if you're going during peak hours. Service was quick, but a little disappointing that there were no water cups. Very much worth a visit though and I'd recommend it!

The ice cream sandwiches were no less stellar. We opted for the white candy flavor and the chrysanthemum flavor. The "cookies" are actually very light slightly chewy wafers. I preferred these to the density of American cookies, which I've always thought to be too sweet and too decadent to be paired with ice cream. The actual ice cream was so smooth, creamy, and not too sugary. The shop does sell pints for $14 each. Other flavors include matcha and black sesame, which I'm keen to try. The narrow shop is minimalist and lovely in decor. There are a few tables and sufficiently comfortable.

We asked the guy at the register for his recommendation, and he pointed us to the Hojicha Tiramisu -- absolutely refreshing and so delicious. Words don't do it justice. I've even been searching for spots back in NJ hoping to find something similar! Service was quick, though there were only a couple of people ahead of us. Just a heads-up: the seating area is pretty small, so you might have to take it to go or wait for a spot. Overall, such a cute place for a quick and memorable dessert stop.

I tried the holiday matcha special in the size large. I shared it with my boyfriend and it was the perfect amount. The ice texture itself was light like snow and the matcha flavor was very rich and strong. The special had strawberries and red bean inside and the cream topping on top was amazing. It is a little pricey for the amount you get, but will definitely be back to try some new seasonal flavors.

The Little One offers a selection of kakigōri plus mochi and red bean toppings (for an extra charge). This was my first time here. A few things: 1) The shaved ice is coarse not soft and snowy. This is different from the typical kakigōri which is fluffy, light and powdery. It's more like very fine ice shards, cold and clear (but not slushy). 2) The small size portion was smaller than I expected (for the price). 3) The store is super cute & has a small seating area with closely spaced tables & modern decor. 4) The menu states the large size is "dine in only." I tried the peach kakigōri with lychee. It was refreshing on a hot humid summer day. It was a sweet and simple dessert. Three and a half stars for the dessert. The cashier was very kind & helpful. * Personally I'd opt for a matcha or hojicha flavored kakigōri - I prefer the tea based flavors over fruity ones.

One of my favorite shaved ice places in NYC. Recommend the matcha shaved ice with oats and red bean. The oats add a nice crunchy texture that blends perfectly with the dish.
Came here many years ago & it was so humid so we gave this place another try! We were also craving kakigori! We got 2 items to share: 1) mango pomelo kakigori, 2) yuzu matcha lemonade. The mango pomelo was beautifully made but flavor wise was a let down. The flavors were not potent and tasted diluted (the ice melted so fast and it fell apart so fast that the iced water probably overdiluted the mango pomelo flavors). I still prefer the kakigoris in japan & the best one I have eaten in NYC is from Tonchin (their kakigoris are amazing and you can taste the fruit flavors and the ice doesn't melt that fast or fall apart). The yuzu matcha lemonade drink was very refreshing & you also taste the yuzu and matcha flavors. This was my favorite item out of the 2. Friendly staff & has indoor seating. read more

Mid reviews are pretty accurate. Was really excited about this spot but feels more IG-focused than actual quality and service. They won't serve you any tap water even though I ordered a dessert and a drink ($13 in total). They only have bottled. They are making water based beverages so that feels wild. Matcha monaka similarly looked good but didn't have a lot of matcha flavor. I didn't finish it. There are a lot of great places around here with good vibes and better prices as well. I'd skip. read more

Matcha ice cream sandwich and matcha latte are a must! The crunch on the ice cream is delicious like roasted tea and puffed rice. Warabi black sesame mochi was also a nice soft snack. Friendly service and the drinks and snacks were quickly delivered to our table. The inside has multiple small tables and seats to enjoy your snacks, as well as a bar to sip your drink and wait for seats to open. The place feels very young and hip and is right next to the East Broadway subway station too. Will definitely be back to try the black sesame ice cream sandwich and tea drinks! read more

A bit of a hidden gem dessert spot I stumbled upon during my last trip. This is a petite pastry shop serving up Japanese teas and sweets. There are five tables with some seating, but the space is not that large at all. What we got: - Matcha Oat Kakigori Final Thoughts: Kakigori isn't that common to come across so I was pleasantly surprised to find it on the menu! It was beautiful, soft, fluffy, and had a lovely milky flavor that complimented the matcha. There were even pieces of jelly at the bottom. I'd definitely return for a sweet treat the next time I'm in town. read more
I got the matcha oat kakigori to share and an iced matcha latte for myself. The kakigori was sweet and so tasty! Personally, I felt the portion size was a bit small considering the price. The matcha latte was good, but nothing unremarkable. Inside is clean and cute. Seating is limited unfortunately and no bathroom. I would return. I think it would be fun to try the other flavors they have. read more

The service was really quick and provided us recommendations when we asked for it. The desserts were absolutely delicious and it was the best way to end the day with. Cute little cafe serving drinks and shaved ice on the outskirts of Chinatown (it's near the F train). Service is good, the shaved ice is $10 and $15 for a big. There's a surcharge of 50 cent for $10 and below if you use a credit card. We ordered the Malaysian white coffee shaved ice. Portion size, it was just right for two people but honestly kinda pricy for the portion. And tbh I felt like there really isn't a significant size increase from the $10 regular size. Maybe like a little bit more but idk if it's like $5 more. Feels more like 20-30% more than the regular size. The white coffee shaved ice was delicious! Loved everything about it, perfect sweetness. Didn't feel overpowering, the coffee flavor was good. Loved the coffee jelly at the bottom and the whipped cream on top was good. Would be interested in trying out the other flavors but might just stick to the regular size one next time. Also, didn't notice a bathroom. read more

This was such a yummy sweet treat spot in Chinatown! The large kakigori was a very nice portion size to share :) Strawberry milk was so delicious! Very cute decor with seating inside (maybe 4 tables inside), so highly recommend coming if you needed a rest break and sweet treat read more

The Little One serves up shaved ice (kakigori), ice cream sandwiches with Asian-inspired flavors, tea-based lattes, and more treats that look too pretty to eat. We split the matcha kakigori, which was delicious - and oat-based! - and I had the chrysanthemum ice cream sandwich because I was still hungry... I actually have a huge soft spot for chrysanthemum ice cream because it's so beautifully fragrant, but never overpowering like some other florals can be. The shop itself is really cozy, especially with the afternoon light streaming in through the big windows and glass door. There's not much seating inside (nor a restroom), but our party of 3 were still able to grab a table on a Sunday afternoon. They also have art from local creators on display that really brighten up the space! read more
OMG! THIS PLACE ATE PERIOD!!!!!!!! Who on earth thought of OAT and MATCHA TOGETHER could served this much!!!! Well... The Little One does. The matcha is high quality, the shaved ice is soft and melt in your mouth. The crunchy (almond???) was sweet and delicious. Oh my, the slight bitterness of the matcha, and the slight sweetness of the oatmeal balance itself so well. Now on to the MATCHA AFFOGATO because oh my mman, can I please order a pint of those oatmeal ice cream??????? A very vegan friendly treats that anyone should have try at least one. Similarly to the shaved ice, but while the shaved ice just have a small hint of sweetness, this ice cream was much much more sweet, but in a good way as the sweet balancing the matcha out so once the ice cream completely melted, you have a semi oatmeal matcha latte. Definitely will be back, but not often as this place is quite expensive. read more
The Little One has been on my list since it's a cute spot has a variety of Japanese and fusion desserts. We had the hojicha tiramisu, strawberry kakigori and homemade strawberry calpico. I really wanted to love the desserts but it fell a little short. Everything is very photogenic but flavor wise something was missing that tied it all together. The hojicha flavor wasn't as pronounced as I would have liked and the cake part didn't blend as well with the mascarpone. Overall it's definitely a cute and inviting spot! The art is a nice touch too. Maybe I'd try other items on the menu. read more

It was a great day coming into this shop and we had it to ourselves. Love the matcha kakigori. It was very refreshing and taste to perfection. The chrysanthemums ice cream sandwich was a pleasant surprised. I knew it was the best choice I have ever had. Who ever had chrysanthemum ice cream before? The Little One has it. Paired with a wafer and honey as the binding agent. It is just perfect. So light and the chrysanthemum and honey made a perfect pair. Love it. We had the yuzu Parfait and the matcha banana pudding to go as the kakigori and the ice cream had as wanting to try more of what they had to offer. We will be back very soon. read more
